Governor Christie Denied Romney Request To Appear At Campaign Event Just Days Ahead Of Election

photo credit: sandyreliefBOSTON — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was effusive in his praise of President Barack Obama when the two leaders toured damage from Hurricane Sandy last week, turned down a request by Mitt Romney to appear with him at a rally on Sunday night in Pennsylvania, The Huffington Post has learned.

Christie’s decision will only add to questions among Republicans about what the governor — who is up for reelection a year from now — is thinking, and why he went out of his way to heap praise on the president, and then refused to appear with Romney.

The Romney rally was held at a farm in Morrisville, Pa., not more than 20 minutes from Trenton, the New Jersey capital. The physical proximity of the event to New Jersey only added to questions in the Romney campaign about why Christie chose not to come.

“You can’t tell me he couldn’t have gone over there for a night rally,” a Romney campaign source told HuffPost.

Why would you want that fat, smelly bastage at a rally anyway? The man is disgusting!

  • Jim Simpson

What a complete SOS. Thoroughly disgusted. Obviously bought and paid for. Jesus!

  • CSN

Now we know who is paying Christie and what you have in Christie….a White Trash Benedict Arnold who never was a Republican, but a RINO FAT RAT.

  • Gretagarbo123

I’m thinking big time RINO. I was a fan of his, but no more! That photo-op made me sick. Many of us will remember this if Christie runs for President.

    • Peoriaboy

Remember when Hannity and the rest of fox News had him on ?I knew right then he was bull shit and those guys turned on every man and woman that was a running for president .

  • sandraleesmith46

I’ve not trusted Christie since he started appointing Muslims to the benches in NJ, at a time when Muslims have by their own words made themselves avowed enemies of this nation!

    • Freedon Agnes

Agree with you. Christie presents himself as a closet democrat in all he says. This man whould be written off by all conservative Republicans and Tea Party members for any other public office. His arm around Obummer made me sick to my stomach. Christie is for himself ..another Obummer. His language befits a moron.

      • yoyis

I agree with your opinion. We do not need “Judas” in the Republican Party. He should be outsted.

    • yoGun

      Shame on Christie!

  • tom s

The fat guy will never get my vote for anything. I had reservations when he was mentioned for the Republican ticket, but now we know where he stands. He didn’t have to kiss obama’s butt there in NJ. Did he believe that by doing so that obama was really going to go to bat for his state? obama doesn’t follow thru on whatever he promises, it’s all for the photo-op.

    • yoGun

People were stupid enough to be ‘impressed’ with the insincere photo op of Obama, as well as Christie’s flaky and gushy praise of Obama….for his quick, useless, and fake sincerity.

  • Richard Brophy

I never liked Chris Chistie, despite the praises he’s been getting. He appointed a Muslim judge!! That alone tells you he’s either uninformed about Islam, or he’s a traitor like Obama himself. His embracing Obama with great praise during this Sandy hurricane event is simply another revelation for his true colors. And now we know he turned Romney down, showing he isn’t as devoted to righteousness as he claims to be.
Chris Chistie is a hothead, a loose cannon. I hope he loses his reelection and gets kicked out of politics so he could concentrate on his excessive adipose instead.

  • ONTIME

Actually by Christies entertaining the Fraud in NJ, he left the Pa void to which Romney went to generate his campaign. On the other hand his nastiness will be returned in kind should Romney win this prez race. Many will not forget this snub and rude act…..

  • nexgenesis

Christie ended up being the biggest event in obama’s entire campaign. Should make Christie feel real good to realize that he has played such an important role in obama’s campaign to get re-elected.

    • ALHL

Then, Christie was p!ssed when his state didn’t receive the FEMA care right away.

  • Arline Mitchell

Christie is liberal in discuise terrible thing to do when his party needed him, I have lost all respect for him

  • If my message is here twice I apologize. What I said before I signed in was I am so angry with Christie. He did not have to suck up to Obama. He should have told him he had no time for a photo-op, just send a check for the victims in NJ. As far as I am concerned Christie stuck a knife in his political career. If he was going to run in 2016. Who wants a president that looks like he is one cheeseburger away from a massive heart attack.

  • terryloohoo

NEVER trusted him. Do you know NJ bans guns? He is a liberal through and through. Plus he appointed a Muslim judge. We’ve got his #!!

  • Christi is the great pretender and is only looking out for himself Is is allied with South Jersey Democratic Boss Norcross and North Jersey Boss Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. All the budget cuts (local swchool aid) were strictly from the republican districts. When he lost the republican primary 20 years ago as Morris County NJ Freeholder director, he tried to join the democratic party ( they turned him down) . The republicans in Mendham NJ (his home town) make faces when you mention his name. Christie;s drooling of Obama and Bruce Springteen should wake up thoose who thingk is the great leader I hope this will show all conservatives a Texas expression (All hat, no cattle) truley applies

  • Lizelot

Not only did Christie appoint a Muslim to the bench recently, (sharia anyone?), he also elevated a rabid and openly homosexual judge to such a sensitive and influential post. Christie is all for himself and indeed prob. preparing for a run in 2016 rather than looking out for the country. He’s at best a RINO and egotist, neither of which we need. Already questioned why he was chosen to speak in Florida. Don’t let us forget his treachery.

  • yoGun

Either threats or cash are holding back the GOP. That is pathetic!

  • Barry_Suxx

Well Christie has exposed his ugly side and I know of no Conservative that’ll EVER vote for him for ANY Office now. However, seeing as how he’s schmoozing up with the demonRats, I anticipate we can expect to see him running as a (D) candidate for Pres fairly soon. He’d NEVER stand a chance as a (R); but as a (D) he’d be their Sanctified Glory-Boy.

However, we’d have to Scrap AF-1 and AF-2, and replace them both with C5A-Galaxy Trasnports, or Antonov 224’s.
