Food Stamp Rolls In America Now Surpass The Population of Spain

Photo Credit: APSince taking office in 2009, food stamp rolls under President Barack Obama have risen to more than 47 million people in America, exceeding the population of Spain.

“Now is the time to act boldly and wisely – to not only revive this economy, but to build a new foundation for lasting prosperity,” said Obama during his first joint session address to Congress on Feb. 24, 2009.

Since then, the number of participants enrolled in food stamps, known as the Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP), has risen substantially.

When Obama entered office in January 2009 there were 31,939,110 Americans receiving food stamps. As of November 2012—the most recent data available—there were 47,692,896 Americans enrolled, an increase of 49.3 percent.

  • “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.”—Ronald Reagan
America has always been the hope of the down-trodden. Now Obama just enslaves the down-trodden with hopelessness and life long dependency.

    By contrast:
“In his lifetime, Ronald Reagan was such a cheerful and invigorating presence that it was easy to forget what daunting historic tasks he set himself. He sought to mend America’s wounded spirit, to restore the strength of the free world, and to free the slaves of communism. These were causes hard to accomplish and heavy with risk, yet they were pursued with almost a lightness of spirit, for Ronald Reagan also embodied another great cause, what Arnold Bennett once called “the great cause of cheering us all up”. His policies had a freshness and optimism that won converts from every class and every nation, and ultimately, from the very heart of the “evil empire.”—Margaret Thatcher, Eulogy for President Reagan

Many Americans have lost their sense of pride… the voice inside that says, “No, I’m not going to take a handout except as a last resort.” Fat, lazy, carefree loafers. Many of us need to get off our butts and get to work and put food on the table by the sweat of our brows.

There is a difference between ‘poor’ and ‘needy’; the latter are deserving of help. Think about it. Also, understand that so many, if not…all, food stamp recipients are uninformed voters, and they really have no incentive to ‘better’ themselves. Their morals and values are low…..proof being irresponsibility in parenting many kids. Their kids suffer, because they have no quality home life, and discipline, accountability, and responsibility are not important to them. Thus,
teachers are expected to perform miracles. Good teachers can only ‘offer’ an education. Today, there are many students who come to school with NO desire to learn and no respect for authority. Sad! Also, there are those who, instead of taking the opportunity to be educated, at a young age…….decide to have a baby….while still in high school. And people wonder why there is so much illiteracy? It’s pathetic! Too many people have kids but do not bother to set examples of Christian values, love, responsibility, and a willingness to WORK. Much thought is required, along with planning, BEFORE the decision is made to bring a child into the world.
In essence, it must be understood that discipline begins at home!
Parenting is a gift…and the Lord should be the foundation.
