Trump Just Made a Ridiculous Claim About the ‘Loyalty’ of His Supporters

Donald Trump is so confident about the loyalty of his supporters that he predicted Saturday they would stick with him even if he shot someone.

The Republican presidential front-runner bashed conservative commentator Glenn Beck’s support of rival Ted Cruz and welcomed a figure from the GOP establishment, Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, in rallies nine days before the Iowa caucuses open voting in the 2016 campaign.

“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?” Trump told an enthusiastic audience at a Christian school, Dordt College. “It’s like incredible.”

Beck campaigned for Ted Cruz and held little back in going after Trump. “The time for silliness and reality show tactics has passed,” Beck charged at a Cruz rally. He warned that a Trump victory in the Feb. 1 caucuses could have lasting consequences: “If Donald Trump wins, it’s going to be a snowball to hell.”

Trump demonstrated the extent to which some in the Republican establishment have begun to accept a potential Trump nomination when Grassley introduced him at a later event in Pella.

    Unfortunately, Trump is probably correct.
His followers have blind loyalty – literally BLIND.
The reality of who he is and what he really stands for is obvious; but it doesn’t matter. They all line up for a chance to kiss his… ring.
The Trump phenomenon has turned into a cult.

Well here we are again, the power brokers do not want Trump to win because they can not control him. They can not make him do their biding by refusing to help fund his campaign because he does not need their money. They are so scared of losing their power that they will do and say anything to make Trump look bad. They take a figure of speech and turn it around to their benefit. Well it will not work because the people wants someone that will tell you what they think and not what you want to hear. The other candidates are scared that this new way of campaigning, by saying what you believe and not catering it to what ever group you are with, will force them to campaign in the same way. Then they can not use their ass kissing form of campaigning to get all these illegals, and people that want to make our country like the hell hole they left, to vote for him.

    • MikefromNC

      A figure of speech?
The man said the words. Out loud and in public.
      Are you insane?
This is the guy you want to lead our country? You want HIM to have that much power?

      • Dowhatsrigh

Do you even know what a figure of speech is. I doubt it . Trump was saying he could do something awful and still have the loyalties of his followers. We know this is true, just look at Hillary and what she did in Benghazi and that was true and NOT a figure of speech. He simply chose shooting someone instead of say pooping in main street at high noon, because the number of shooting have been in the news lately.

        • MikefromNC

And apparently he is correct. No matter what he says, no matter what his actual record is, no matter what he said last week…
People just line up to proclaim him as something he isn’t and has never been.
          A conservative.

And that doesn’t scare the daylights out of you???

          • Dowhatsrigh

No, because what he says is what the people want. They no longer trust these politicians that kiss the ass of whomever they are with at the time. They want a person that says he will do this and he is for that and is not in favor of political correctness or diversity. Neither of these, Political Correctness or Diversity, ever settled a damn thing. It just spread the people further apart. Just look at how far apart we are now thanks to that crap.

Funny thing, that’s precisely how Hitler came to be Chancellor of Germany; HE also said what the angry people wanted to hear.

So, when Santa says “ho-ho-ho” it is a slur against women. Humor can be silly or it can be dark or it can be subtle or it can be mean or it can be outrageous or it can be off-color or sometimes it goes too far and misses the mark. But we have become so controlled by PC thought police that humor in America is boring, just like Hollywood movies because we know that the bad guys or dupes are always going to be white, middle class and American. What happened to spurious laughter, to leaps of outrageous ideas in levity and to American “funning ya'”? Can’t anyone identify if not “take” a joke anymore? He wasn’t joking about the 50 people every weekend murdered in Chicago, he was pointing out that the tsunami of anger and hurt and victimization and those who are the brunt of political robbery is so powerful that nothing can turn the tide. See, folks, he tried to use humor but we are so brainwashed few people picked up the subtle truth and the silliness of it. Sigh.

    • MikefromNC

No, I think you missed the point entirely. Of course he wasn’t saying he intends to literally shoot anybody. But what he WAS saying is that it doesn’t matter what he says, people will just go along with it because he’s so great.
Unfortunately, it appears he is right.

Not specific to this article but:

Many in the west would like the states to get back the land in their states that is controlled by the federal government.

    Trump has stated:

“I don’t like the idea because I want to keep the lands great, and you don’t know what the state is going to do,”

So who would be the best steward of those lands? The states that are more aware of the local issues or the feds that rule those lands with an iron fist and draconian left wing environmental regulations?

    • MikefromNC

Yep – that’s because Trump is a big government progressive. He always has been and he doesn’t even try to hide it.
All he has to do is say he’s the greatest and the cult stands up and cheers.

  • sandraleesmith46

I would like to hope/believe he was joking, but I fear he was not.

Does anyone remember why the German people were so taken by Hitler.
The country was feeling as if they were no longer a strong nation after WWI and along comes Hitler saying all the right things and making them believe he was their savior. Sound familiar?
