Despicable Congress Moves to Require Female Draft, Force Our Daughters Into Combat

Female_Signal_officer_speaks_to_the_future_roles_of_women_in_combat_130313-A-ER359-359By Carlo Munoz. House lawmakers took a large step toward putting female soldiers on the front lines on Wednesday, approving legislation requiring women to register for the draft.

Members of the House Armed Services committee passed the measure as part of the panel’s version of the defense spending bill for fiscal year 2017, according to the Associated Press.

After a lengthy, and at times heated debate, the legislation only passed by a slim two vote margin with the bill’s main sponsor California Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter actually voting against the measure during the House defense spending bill markup on Wednesday.

Hunter, along with former SEAL and Montana Republican Rep. Ryan Zinke, initially proposed the plan to require women to register for the draft in Feburary, shortly after the Pentagon lifted its ban on female service members from serving in combat infantry units and special operations forces.

“It’s wrong and irresponsible to make wholesale changes to the way America fights its wars without the American people having a say on whether their daughters and sisters will be on the front lines of combat,” Hunter said at the time. House Committee Votes to Draft Women Into Selective Service

By Daniel Horowitz. We have officially lost it as a civil society. All the gender-bending has taken its toll on our political leaders, forcing them to come full circle and endorse a mandatory draft for all young women in this country.

Yesterday, during a marathon markup of the $610 billion annual defense bill (NDAA), the House Armed Services Committee added an amendment including women in the requirement for all young adults to register for the Selective Service. The amendment was originally sponsored by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), an opponent of social engineering in the military, in order to jumpstart a discussion of how the ‘women in combat agenda’ has gone too far. You might call it a case study of acting absurd in order to illustrate absurdity. But as it turns out, there is no floor to the politically correct insanity of our political class. Republicans Joe Heck, Martha McSally, and Chris Gibson joined the Democrats in passing this amendment and attaching it to the NDAA. The vote tally was 32-30.

To be clear, this entire exercise was pointless and will not become law. Moreover, the Selective Service is gratuitous and will likely go by the wayside one of these days. But the point is we’ve reached rock bottom in our culture when every Democrat and even some Republicans now believe women should be forcibly drafted into the military. Remember, several months ago during the New Hampshire primary debate when every candidate except for Ted Cruz expressed support for women in combat and women registering for the draft. Last year, Trump said he would absolutely support women in combat.

Add this to the endless list of bedrock principles many Republicans are willing to toss overboard. As John Kasich likes to say, we just need to get over it. (For more from the author of “House Committee Votes to Draft Women Into Selective Service” please click HERE)

Three Republicans Split Ranks, Allow Measure to Pass

By Scott Maucione. The amendment, which narrowly passed 32-30, made for one of the more drastic votes of the 16 1/2 hour marathon, with the author (Rep. Duncan Hunter) voting against his own provision.

The amendment legally requires women to sign up for the selective service when they become adults. In the case of a draft, those women will be called up to military duty just as men are now. . .

The voting on the amendment was split largely along party lines, however a few Republicans broke rank.

Reps. Joe Heck (R-Nev.) Chris Gibson (R-N.Y.) and Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) voted to add women to the selective services. (Read more from “Three Republicans Split Ranks, Allow Measure to Pass” HERE)

Boehner Ally Plans to Spend $1 Million to Torpedo Conservative Rep. Bridenstine

Jim_Bridenstine_113th_CongressEarlier today, John Boehner revealed what’s on his mind and the minds of the entire Chamber of Commerce/K Street/Fox News axis who are committed to the cause of #NeverCruz. They will target anyone who adheres to the Republican platform and upholds their campaigns promise to those who elected them. The same players who detest Ted Cruz have now recruited a straw man RINO to run against Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK), one of the most intrepid conservatives in the House of Representatives.

Jim Bridenstine is running for his third and final term to represent Oklahoma’s First Congressional District, as he has pledged to serve no longer than six years. But the Boehner, K Street-types cannot afford even one more term of a man who listens to the people of Tulsa instead of the special interests. Tom Atkinson, a wealthy owner of an oil company, has been recruited to run against Jim and has publicly promised to spend up to $1 million in this very cheap media market.

Just to illustrate the contrast between grassroots primary challenges that begin with a groundswell but not much money, Atkinson has no support from the people but is already up on radio and TV with plasticated ads ahead of the June 28 primary. He has not made a single public appearance, held a single press conference or engaged in electioneering, yet he is already up on the air. Atkinson hasn’t shown up to the district convention or any other party event. His strategy is to hide behind his money and hope nobody finds out his true identity.

Well, who is Tom Atkinson? He is the quintessential wealthy trans-ideological Republican. He donated to a liberal Democrat, Kathy Taylor, who ran against the Republican mayor of Tulsa. That Republican mayor, Dewey Bartlett, is Tom Atkinson’s own brother-in-law! Atkinson has tapped Shane Saunders, a former aid to John Sullivan, the RINO Bridenstine defeated in 2012 who was known to be close with Boehner as well.

On Atkinson’s campaign website and in his ads, he sells himself as a conservative and not a politician. But how could a conservative donate to a prominent Democrat who funded Emily’s List and held fundraisers for Joe Biden? More importantly, how can a conservative “non-politician” challenge the only member of the state’s delegation who is indeed a conservative and not a politician? Atkinson feigns outrage over illegal immigration on his website, but he is challenging the one man in the delegation who stood up to Obama’s amnesty, the very impetus for Boehner’s recruitment against him!

Let’s examine the Liberty Scores® of each member from the Oklahoma delegation:

Jim Bridenstine (CD-1) – 96%

Markwayne Mullin (CD-2)- 59%**

Frank Lucas (CD-3) – 39%

Tom Cole (CD-4) – 40%

Steve Russell (CD-5)– 50%

Does anything stand out here?

Clearly, Tom Atkinson, his rich local friends who are best buddies with John Boehner, and his K Street backers in D.C. want the first district to be like the rest of the delegation, not vice-versa. They don’t want a citizen legislator in CD-1; they want a career politician in the mold of those serving in the other districts so that the Tulsa representative doesn’t embarrass the K Street/Paul Ryan bootlickers in the rest of the state. Tom Atkinson is merely the drive-by conduit for them to strip Oklahoma of any conservative representation. Tom Atkinson would fit in perfectly with the politically bisexual Washington Cartel.

In March 2015, the American Action Network, a RINO group closely aligned with Boehner and K Street, spent hundreds of thousands on ads targeting Bridenstine and other House conservatives who opposed funding amnesty. You heard that right. Boehner’s allies were targeting Republicans for upholding their promise to block one of the most pernicious and unconstitutional policies in recent years. American Action Network, which is rapidly pro-amnesty, had previously run ads in support of the Gang of Eight. Now they are promoting jailbreak.

At the time, there was so much backlash in Bridenstine’s district against the K Street amnesty PAC that they were forced to pull the ads.

It’s not hard to see that similar groups, if not AAN itself, are behind the random filing of this drive-by candidacy. Activists on the ground told me they received calls from D.C. push-polling against Bridenstine in March, but they were clearly not from Atkinson because the pollster was testing other potential opponents. Boehner’s allies were gunning for Jim for a while, but now they have their man.

This race is about a lot more than Jim Bridenstine. It’s about deterring any potential citizen legislator from doing the right thing and continuing the pale-pastel scam that is the modern Republican Party.

**Mullin has already drawn a challenger. Jarrin Jackson, a combat veteran, is a very strong candidate and I’ll be focusing on this race in the coming days. (For more from the author of “Boehner Ally Plans to Spend $1 Million to Torpedo Conservative Rep. Bridenstine” please click HERE)

Pastor’s ‘Massive’ Prediction About What Will Happen If Trump Isn’t the GOP Nominee

hqdefaultPastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, has sparked both praise and controversy over his support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and now he’s predicting that Trump supporters will sit out of the election if the businessman is prevented from becoming the nominee.

“I’m going to predict that, if the establishment somehow wrestles this nomination away from Trump — even though the rules allow for it — I think you’re going to see a massive boycott of Trump supporters in the general election,” Jeffress said during an appearance on Fox Business Network earlier this week. “I’m not saying it should be that way, but I predict that’s what’s going to happen.”

He went on to argue that many of the people who Trump has energized are outside of the “Republican system.”

While Jeffress believes that the brash businessman has motivated these people to no longer sit on the sidelines, he believes that it’s quite possible that they will bow out of the political process if another GOP candidate nabs the nomination . . .

As TheBlaze previously reported, Jeffress — who isn’t endorsing a candidate in the 2016 election cycle, but who told the Christian Post that he doesn’t believe that a Christian “has to sell his soul to the devil to vote for Donald Trump” — has offered frequent support to Trump in recent months. Cruz Rolls Dice With Fiorina

24762599925_5365de5bed_bFacing a must-win situation in next week’s primary in Indiana, Ted Cruz sought to shake up the GOP presidential campaign by naming Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential candidate.

The dramatic move was teased as a big announcement Wednesday morning and dominated the news cycle a day after Donald Trump swept five Northeastern primaries and reasserted his dominance of the GOP race.

Cruz desperately needed something to change the race’s momentum, and he turned to a failed Republican presidential candidate best known for her fiery attacks on Trump and Hillary Clinton, the likely Democratic presidential nominee.

“Carly is brilliant and capable, and yet she experienced the hardscrabble world of being a female professional,” Cruz said in announcing his pick at a rally in Indianapolis, where his supporters held red, white and blue “Cruz/Fiorina ’16” signs that were handed out as Cruz spoke . . .

Fiorina took the stage in a red dress that matched Cruz’s tie and immediately showed her potential to be a strong GOP vice presidential candidate against a ticket topped by Clinton, by laying into the former secretary of State. (Read more from “Cruz Rolls Dice With Fiorina” HERE)

Trump Says He Doesn’t Need Koch: ‘I Got My Own Money’

maxresdefaultGOP front-runner Donald Trump said Wednesday he doesn’t need the support of campaign funding powerhouse Charles Koch, saying “I got my own money.”

“What he says bears no relationship on what I do or say. I don’t need his money. I got my own money,” Trump told Breitbart News Daily on Wednesday.

Koch on Sunday had criticized Trump’s proposal for a temporary ban on letting Muslims into the country, calling it reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

Meanwhile, he told ABC on Sunday he thinks “it’s possible” a Hillary Clinton presidency would be better than putting a Republican in the White House, another comment Trump took issue with. (Read more from “Trump Says He Doesn’t Need Koch: ‘I Got My Own Money'” HERE)

Democrat Pushes to Expand ‘Secret’ Gun Confiscations in California

maxresdefaultCalifornia Assemblyman Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) is pushing to expand firearm confiscations by allowing co-workers and others to file a complaint that sets the “secret” confiscation process in motion.

The confiscations are tied to Gun Violence Restraining Orders (GVROs), which were passed by CA Democrats following Elliot Rodger’s May 23, 2014 Santa Barbara attack. GVROs were touted as a vehicle through which families could petition a court for the seizure of guns from a family member. With order in hand, police could confiscate firearms from the family member without notice.

The GVROs were signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown (D) on October 1, 2014 and became effective January 1, 2016. Assemblyman Ting is now pushing AB 2607 to expand GVROs so co-workers, employers, teachers, and others, can petition a court to have the “secret” confiscations ordered.

In an April 27 press release, the Firearms Policy Coalition observed:

[Ting’s] bill massively expands a controversial law that has only been in place for 4 months. At present, current law permits family members and peace officers to petition a court, in secret, in order to restrain an individual from possessing firearms. AB 2607 compounds this measure by adding, to the list of qualified petitioners, employers, coworkers, mental health workers, and employees of a secondary or postsecondary school.

A Decisive Night in GOP and Democratic Nomination Races

24251018661_04b1c1a19b_bWith 172 Republican delegates up for grabs and another 384 at stake on the Democratic side, Tuesday’s presidential primary elections added some distance between the two parties’ respective front-runners and the challengers who remain in the race.

After Republican Donald Trump was reported as the projected winner of three states — Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania — just minutes after polls closed in those states, news outlets followed up a short time later by projecting he also won the other two state primaries of the night, adding delegates in Delaware and Rhode Island.

Polling prior to the Northeastern primaries showed Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton poised to win the majority of delegates on Tuesday night. Both front-runners have faced their own controversies throughout the election cycle, though The New York Times’ Alexander Burns pointed to Tuesday’s election as “their best chance before June to gain a final, decisive advantage over their opponents.”

While Trump seems to have succeeded in expanding his lead, the results were less decisive on the Democratic side. Though front-runner Hillary Clinton was quickly named the projected winner of Maryland’s race, taking home 46 of that state’s 95 possible delegates, challenger Bernie Sanders earned 17. Oil Climbs Above $45 Amid U.S. Crude Output Drop, Fed Statement

oil-106913_960_720Oil closed above $45 a barrel in New York for the first time since November after U.S. crude output dropped and Federal Reserve policy makers signaled they’re open to raising interest rates in June.

Crude production fell to 8.94 million barrels a day last week, the least since October 2014, Energy Information Administration data show. Futures fell on the initial release of the report because it showed crude inventories rose. Oil extended gains after the Federal Open Market Committee omitted previous language that “global economic and financial developments continue to pose risks,” instead saying officials will “closely monitor” such developments.

“We are focused on U.S. production, which was down again,” said Cavan Yie, senior equity analyst at Manulife Asset Management Ltd. in Toronto. “Production is down about 650,000 barrels from the peak, and it’s going to keep dropping because nobody is spending any money to drill new wells.”

Oil has rebounded since slumping to the lowest level since 2003 in February, amid signs the global surplus will ease as U.S. production declines. The World Bank boosted its forecast for oil prices this year, projecting that U.S. output cuts will steepen in the second half of 2016. Markets may rebalance by the end of the year, BP Plc Chief Executive Officer Bob Dudley said Tuesday as the company reported a surprise first-quarter profit.

West Texas Intermediate oil for June delivery increased $1.29, or 2.9 percent, to settle at $45.33 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It’s the highest close since Nov. 4. (Read more from “Oil Climbs Above $45 Amid U.S. Crude Output Drop, Fed Statement” HERE)

OOPS: Most Transparent Administration Ever Withheld Incriminating Hillary Emails From Federal Courts

hqdefaultIt would seem that the only group interested in performing oversight of the Obama administration is an independent watchdog group, not the Republican-controlled Oversight committees in Congress.

Those committees appear to be either complicit, incompetent or (more likely) both.

Instead, we are left to groups like Judicial Watch (an organization that I have financially supported in the past thanks to my generous readers) to perform oversight on the most lawless administration in modern American history.

…[Judicial Watch] has obtained new documents from the Department of State containing the telephone transcripts from the evening of September 11, 2012, in which then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton informs then-Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil that the deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi “had nothing to do with the film.” The documents include previously unreleased telephone transcripts with world leaders about the Benghazi attack.

Clinton’s admission to Kandil was first produced to the Select Committee on Benghazi on October 13, 2015 and publicized on the day of Mrs. Clinton’s testimony, October 22, but court filings in Judicial Watch litigation show that the record was only produced after two federal court judges ordered the State Department to produce more Benghazi-related records to Judicial Watch. Similarly, Judicial Watch litigation also forced the release of the September 11, 2012 email in which Secretary of State Hillary Clinton informed her daughter by email that the attack had been staged by an “Al Qaeda-like group,” rather than as the result of “inflammatory material posted on the Internet,” as Mrs. Clinton had claimed in her official public statement one hour earlier.

The State Department previously told a federal court that the Kandil document wasn’t responsive to Judicial Watch’s request and resulting lawsuit [Ed.: likely a federal offense of some sort] (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01511)) seeking:

Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to notes, updates, or reports created in response to the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. This request includes, but is not limited to, notes taken by then Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton or employees of the Office of the Secretary of State during the attack and its immediate aftermath.

But the State Department then produced this information last month to Judicial Watch. The records, the State Department told the Court, were found among thousands of new Clinton State Department records supposedly only discovered in December, 2015 – again, two months after the key Kandil document was first produced to the Benghazi Committee…

…At 10:08 p.m. on September 11, Mrs. Clinton issued an official State Department press statement, approved by the White House, placing the blame for the attack on an Internet video:

Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.

Yet the next day, in her 7:49 PM September 12 conversation with Kandil, Clinton said, “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack – not a protest.” Kandil responded, “You’re not kidding. Based on the information we saw today we believe that group that claimed responsibility for this is affiliated with al-Qaeda.”

On September 15, in a telephone call with then-Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr, Clinton emphatically portrayed the “stupid, very offensive film” as the root cause of the Benghazi violence. Clinton told Amr, “I have repeatedly, as has the President and other officials in our government, deplored not only the content of this stupid, very offensive film… But we have to exercise more self-discipline… otherwise we’ll be in a vicious downward circle against everyone who has ever felt offended, particularly on the internet….”

Clinton’s telephone call with Amr also contained a curious reference to what the former secretary referred to as a “very successful investment visit led by my deputy Tom Nides, and on the very day they left this series of incidents began to unfold.” According to the Washington Post, Nides, who was deputy secretary for management and resources at the State Department, was at the same time responsible for “communications with donors” to the Clinton Foundation. Nides was also involved in the scandal involving Clinton’s efforts to provide special access to State Department officials for hedge fund clients of her son-in-law, Marc Mezinsky.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s petty corruption, there’s felony corruption and then there’s Clinton corruption, the major leagues of fraud, embezzlement, and bribery.

But don’t tell The New York Times’ Li’l Nicky Kristof! He still thinks Hillary and Obama are as pure as the driven snow. (For more from the author of “OOPS: Most Transparent Administration Ever Withheld Incriminating Hillary Emails From Federal Courts” please click HERE)

2016 Election: Donald Trump Sweeps Five US States

25244866965_78feeaa81c_bDonald Trump has won presidential primaries in all five US states that voted on Tuesday, while Hillary Clinton triumphed in four out of five.

Mr Trump called himself the Republican “presumptive nominee” after victories in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

The results bring him closer to the number of delegates he needs before the party’s national convention in July.

For the Democrats, Mrs Clinton was denied a clean sweep by Bernie Sanders.

The Vermont senator won in Rhode Island and vowed to fight to the end of the primaries process. (Read more from “2016 Election: Donald Trump Sweeps Five US States” HERE)
