Israel Pushes Deeper Into Gaza Ahead of Full-Scale Ground Invasion as Tanks Are Seen Deployed Along Northern Border

Israeli troops and tanks pushed deeper into northern Gaza Monday ahead of an expected full-scale ground invasion to destroy Hamas and rescue hostages — as one captured Israel Defense Forces (IDF) solider was saved during an overnight mission.

Video released Monday shows Israeli tanks being deployed past the northern border, moving among buildings as soldiers enter homes in Gaza.

Tanks also blocked a key road linking northern Gaza to the south, the Times of Israel reported.

The major ground advance puts Israel in “a position where they can observe and control what is coming in and out of Gaza City,” Michael Knights, a military analyst at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, told the Wall Street Journal.
