Most Democrats Aren’t Motivated to Oppose Donald Trump: New Poll

Most Democrats are not motivated to oppose President-elect Donald Trump as he prepares to take office, despite half saying they feel “scared” about what he will do as the country’s leader, according to a post-election poll published on Sunday.

Earlier this month, Democrats took a loss as Trump secured the popular vote and 312 Electoral College votes to win a second term in the White House, beating out Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

Over the past few weeks, Trump has begun his transition back to the Oval Office, having previously served as the 45th president. He is the second U.S. president to take office again in a nonconsecutive term, the first being President Grover Cleveland.

Down the ballot, the Republican Party retained their majority in the House of Representatives, and flipped the Senate, gaining control with 53 seats. (Read more from “Most Democrats Aren’t Motivated to Oppose Donald Trump: New Poll” HERE)

Melania’s Abortion Support Further Discourages Pro-Life Votes For Trump

It shouldn’t have been a surprise. Melania Trump had a successful career as a model. She’s married to one of the most prominent businessmen and politicians in the world. She fits the feminist demographic. Of course she supports abortion.

But for pro-lifers who’ve been arguing that Donald Trump is the pro-life option since 2016, it still hurts a little.

Melania’s book, titled Melania, isn’t set to be released until Oct. 8, but it’s already making headlines. The book reportedly reveals that the former and perhaps future first lady is an advocate of a supposed “right” to abortion, and in one promotional video for the book, Melania speaks explicitly about a woman’s right to what she calls “individual freedom.”

“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth: individual freedom. What does ‘my body, my choice’ really mean?” . . .

“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body?” she reportedly wrote in her book. “A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.” . . .

That is a radical statement. Melania, it seems, would oppose any restriction on abortion. She’s not even making the argument that many pro-abortion advocates make that abortions should at least be granted in cases of incest, rape, or when the life of the mother is threatened. Any restriction, at all, Melania has decided, violates a woman’s so-called right to choose. Never mind an unborn child’s right to life. Groups Outraged Over Military Training Labeling Pro-Lifers as Terrorists

A pro-life organization, Operation Rescue, has condemned a U.S. military base for permitting an employee to deliver a lesson that labeled pro-life groups as terrorists, akin to ISIS. This indoctrination session occurred at Fort Liberty in North Carolina, sparking outrage from pro-life advocates.

The allegations surfaced after an image appeared online showing a slide from the presentation, listing Operation Rescue and National Right to Life alongside known terrorist organizations. The slide followed one about ISIS, suggesting a comparison between the pro-life groups and the terror group. It included activities such as opposing Roe v. Wade, demonstrating, protesting (a First Amendment right), and picketing, implying that these activities are akin to terrorism.

Troy Newman, Chief of Operation Rescue, responded vehemently to the reports. “Pro-life organizations have absolutely nothing to do with terrorism,” he stated. “The only perceived purpose for disparaging pro-life organizations in such a training would be to satisfy a political agenda and indoctrinate our soldiers. It is truly a disgrace and clearly violates the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which limits the powers of the U.S. government to use the military to enforce domestic policies.”

Newman expressed disappointment that the proper authorities either were unaware of the slide or allowed it to be included in multiple trainings. He demanded assurances that this would not happen again following Fort Liberty’s investigation.

The base, after conducting a commander’s inquiry, determined that the slides were not approved by authorities and do not reflect the views of the military operations there. It assured that the slides would no longer be used.

Carol Tobias, President of National Right to Life, also criticized the presentation, stating, “In a presentation that is deeply offensive to pro-life Americans across the nation, Fort Liberty promoted outright lies about National Right to Life in a demonstration of lazy scholarship. In our over 50-year history, National Right to Life has always, consistently, and unequivocally condemned violence against anyone.”

Army Presentation Included Condemnation of Pro-Lifers as Terrorists

A presentation offered on a U.S. Army base for soldiers being prepared to guard the perimeter of the operation openly bashed pro-life organizations, including National Right to Life and Operation Rescue, as “terrorist groups.”

The base, in a statement, bluntly said such comments were not authorized by the base and no longer would be allowed. But it was not clear exactly who, if anyone, was being blamed.

The false claims appeared in a social media posting that featured the image of the “Terrorist Groups” list with the Operation Rescue and National Right to Life Logos embedded.

It said, “The slide you see here followed right after a slide about ISIS, a terror group in the Middle East. The organizations labeled by the army as terror organizations include National Right to Life and Operation Rescue. They also included a screenshot of a license plate with ‘IM4IT,’ which is a plate many pro-life citizens put on their car which implies normal citizens are terrorists if they display this plate. The slide goes on to mention activities which these organizations participate in which include being pro-life, opposing Row (sic) v Wade, demonstrating and protesting (a 1st Amendment protected right), ‘Truth Displays,’ and picketing.” . . .

The report said, “The presentation slide, photographed by an anonymous person in the briefing room on Wednesday and published on social media by a pseudonymous account, highlights common tactics used by anti-abortion activists as possibly dangerous, including ‘demonstrations and protest,’ ‘truth display,’ ‘picketing,’ and sidewalk counseling.” (Read more from “Army Presentation Included Condemnation of Pro-Lifers as Terrorists” HERE)

Donald Trump Pledges to Return Jailed Pro-Lifers to Their Families if Elected

Former President Donald Trump said he would work to free pro-life activists prosecuted and imprisoned by the pro-abortion Biden administration, should he be elected, Catholic News Agency (CNA) reported on Tuesday.

During a June 22 speech to the Faith and Freedom Coalition, Trump specifically mentioned the case of 75-year-old Paulette Harlow, who was sentenced to 24 months in prison for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and for “conspiracy against rights” in a 2020 protest at a D.C. abortion clinic infamous for late-term abortions.

“Paulette is one of many peaceful pro-lifers who Joe Biden has rounded up, sometimes with SWAT teams, and thrown them in jail,” Trump said. “Many people are in jail over this. … We’re going to get that taken care of immediately — [on the] first day.”

Harlow, unlike her co-defendants — who sat in jail for months awaiting sentencing — had been on house arrest due to her ill health before being sentenced, according to Live Action News. Harlow’s defense attorney, Allen Orenberg, reportedly said in a statement that Harlow’s health has been rapidly declining and that prison could be detrimental to her condition.

Abortion Pill Reversal Saved Her Baby Girl’s Life

Katelynn Perry sat in her bathtub doing Google searches on her phone. Was there a way to save her unborn baby?

She had taken the first chemical abortion pill that day and had decided she was not going to take the rest.

After visiting Planned Parenthood, Perry says she “knew that taking that first pill was wrong,” adding, “I shouldn’t have let them influence me.”

Perry already had four kids when she found out she was pregnant with her fifth child, and given the financial struggles she and her husband were facing, she had decided to visit Planned Parenthood to discuss her options.

“When I tried to ask questions, they were kind of shot down. They weren’t really answered in full,” Perry said of her trip to the clinic. “They used a lot of medical terms that I didn’t understand.”

Jury Reveals Verdict for Six Pro-Life Activists Charged With Blocking Access to Abortion Clinic

Six pro-life activists were found guilty of blocking access to an abortion clinic on Tuesday and could face a sentence of up to 11 years in prison, according to a press release from the Thomas More Society.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) charged 11 pro-life activists in October 2022 with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which “prohibits threats of force, obstruction and property damage intended to interfere with reproductive health care services,” for blocking the entrance of an abortion clinic in March 2021. A jury ruled that the six defendants were guilty after a six-day trial at the Fred D. Thompson U.S. Courthouse in Nashville, Tennessee, according to the press release.

“We are, of course, disappointed with the outcome,” Steve Crampton, senior counsel for the Thomas More Society, which is representing Paul Vaughn, said. “This was a peaceful demonstration by entirely peaceable citizens—filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship—oriented toward persuading expecting mothers not to abort their babies. Unfortunately, the Biden Department of Justice decided to characterize Paul Vaughn’s peaceful actions as a felony ‘conspiracy against rights,’ to intimidate and punish Paul and other pro-life people and people of faith.” (Read more from “Jury Reveals Verdict for Six Pro-Life Activists Charged With Blocking Access to Abortion Clinic” HERE)

The Absurdity of Republican Resistance to Abortion

The Republican Party has used the prolife vote for decades now, and with the exception of Donald Trump’s judicial appointments, has given very little reason to expect prolife voters to continue to support the GOP. This realization is dawning on many lifelong conservatives and Republicans. Let us look at the local level, here in Alaska.

We still find the same shopworn solutions to abortion in Alaska are being offered and are nothing more than dead-ends. This is true even from some of the allegedly prolife support groups, who dutifully warn how bad things will be if prolife elected officials are not supported. The mindless logic goes like this:

“The courts have ruled that abortion is a privacy right. We must change the courts! Or, we must have a constitutional amendment. Or we must nibble at the edges, wherein the courts permit certain restrictions. That’s all we can do for now.”

Alaska legalized abortion in 1970, three full years before Roe v. Wade … which also struck down the restrictions Alaska had in place, such as parental permission, gestation limits and so forth. This law was passed for several reasons, one of which was a libertine view of sexuality that has ever permeated frontier areas, but also because as a new state, misguided legislators wanted Alaska to be seen as “progressive”.

The law was vetoed by Gov. Keith Miller, which was quickly and easily overridden. But let us review the constitutional options that have never been exercised and are still in place.

For starters, the first breath of the state constitution reads as follows: “This constitution is dedicated to the principles that all persons have a natural right to life …”

So — what on earth do we need a constitutional amendment for? Who says that unborn persons are not persons? It was certainly accepted in 1955, when the constitutional convention met, and also in 1958 when the people approved statehood and the state constitution.

And it still is today when a woman is assaulted or murdered while carrying an unborn child. But the evil courts and their case law have decided, on their own warped authority, that the unborn child is protected only if it is “wanted”, or some such illogical nonsense.

It seems impossible, but let us suppose that we had a conservative state supreme court. It could have immediately declared the 1970 abortion legalization law as unconstitutional, citing Article I, Section 1, quoted above.

OK, so we didn’t have a conservative state court, either then or now. But we did have a prolife governor, who vetoed the law. But then, it was constitutionally overridden.

Let’s play a hypothetical game: suppose the legislature and/or courts declared that Alaskan natives, Jews or other minorities were not fully human, or “persons” before the law. Then, vetoed by a governor, then the veto overridden.

Let’s check out Article III, Sec. 16: “[The governor] may, by appropriate court action or proceeding brought in the name of the state, enforce compliance with any constitutional or legislative mandate, or restrain violation of any constitutional or legislative power, duty, or right by any officer, department or agency of the state or any of its political subdivisions. This authority shall not be construed to authorize any action or proceeding against the legislature.”

You will notice that it does not say the judiciary. The fiction that we have “three co-equal branches of government” is once again shattered with that omission. The legislature has ever been considered superior over the executive and judicial branches, on both the state and federal levels. But they can make mistakes, too, just like the other branches. And enforcement is not within their purview, it is with the executive.

So, Keith Miller might have invoked this section, refusing to allow such a hypothetically hideous law in Alaska. Yes, we would have had a constitutional crisis. Yes, they might have impeached him for it. You do not need any legal grounds for impeachment anyway, it can be trumped up on any pretense. But Miller would have had the constitution on his side, for everyone admits that this section gives Alaska’s governors a power not found in most other states.

Now Alaskan natives, Jews and other minorities enjoy sympathy and privilege in this state, so the given example would not happen, at least in the current culture. But we do have a culture that does not see the unwanted/unborn as enjoying such protections. It is, of course, utterly arbitrary, as we have seen in regards to the death of an unborn child that is “wanted”. It is also selfish, brutal, stone-hearted, unconstitutional, and — this really infuriates the Left — utterly unscientific.

Miller lacked the full knowledge of the constitutional powers he possessed, or determined that it would be a fight not worth engaging. With the abdication of the battlefield, the Left has been emboldened to even more preposterous unconstitutional actions in the decades that have followed.

We can start with the right to privacy, enacted in 1972 for the sake of our personal electronic data being protected at the dawn of the computer age. The amendment was wisely written in anticipation of what we are now seeing, and if you haven’t noticed, it is utterly ineffective for the purpose in which it was approved.

But things get even worse: the understanding that the judiciary was often an enemy of constitutions was fully anticipated, so the amendment further reads, “The legislature shall implement this section.”

Yet, the judiciary has gotten away with impeachable offenses by deciding that they will define, and hence “implement”, what privacy means. And, naturally, abortion quickly became its pet to protect at all costs. From there, it was an easy bridge to cross when “privacy” meant, by their case law reasoning, to extend to public funding of abortion.

They apparently were not concerned at all with the privacy of individual citizens’ consciences, or their purse.

All the while, allegedly prolife governors such as Hickel, Palin, Parnell and Dunleavy, and allegedly prolife legislative majorities in the past, have dutifully tried to end this constitutional overthrow by following supposedly “constitutional” boundaries the judiciary invented — only to find that, after time-consuming hearings and testimony … Ta Da! … the goalposts were moved further back, negating all efforts.

We see that the arrogance of the judiciary now extends into new areas that have nothing to do with abortion, such as usurping the powers of grand juries. But the timorous, allegedly conservative legislators have done little or nothing to stop this.

Except, of course, David Eastman, who is universally detested for not being a “team player”. But Eastman never votes or acts without first asking, “Is this constitutional?” His fellow colleagues, who take the same oath, rely upon the judiciary to let them know what “constitutional” means, as if they are too ignorant or uneducated to think for themselves.

Many likely secretly agree with him, but they don’t dare cross over to his side, for fear of being “Eastmanized” by their colleagues, the media and the bureaucracy. Thus, their oath to support both the state and federal constitutions is turned over to the very people — the judiciary and the bureaucrats — that they use as a way to gain the votes and trust of their conservative constituents, to effect a change that both they and their Leftist enemies, know will never occur.

It’s a squirrel cage.

Video Played At Trial Shows Pro-Lifers Targeted By DOJ Singing Hymns, Urging Peace During Protest

Six pro-lifers targeted by the Biden administration sang hymns and urged peace at an abortion facility in Tennessee during a 2021 protest for which they face 11 years in prison, according to videos shown in federal court on Thursday.

The videos were played during the second day of the trial of the six pro-lifers in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee at the Fred D. Thompson courthouse in Nashville. The pro-lifers are charged by the Department of Justice with violating the FACE Act and conspiring against civil rights, a charge that could lead to 11 years in prison. . .

Caroline Davis, who was one of those arrested at Carafem, took a plea deal earlier this year and agreed to testify for the government. During her testimony, the prosecution played videos of what happened at Carafem during the protest.

Some of the videos showed the group singing songs like “Holy, Holy, Holy,” and “Onward Christian Soldiers,” while others showed members of the group talking to police. Another video showed one participant telling another to speak “in love” to a man with his girlfriend who had shown up at Carafem and that someone’s “baby is a gift from God.”

Gallagher was on video telling those present on March 5 to conduct themselves peacefully and to make sure to not do any property damage. The group hoped to encounter women heading into Carafem for abortions and persuade them to keep their unborn children. Majority of Americans Favor Abortion Limits and Embrace Pregnancy Resource Centers, Reveals New Poll

As the fifty-first annual March for Life in Washington, DC, approaches, a recent Knights of Columbus-Marist poll unveils a notable shift in public opinion, indicating that a strong majority of Americans support abortion limits and stand behind pregnancy resource centers. The findings were released on Wednesday.

According to the poll, when presented with the choice between having some limits or no limits on abortion, 66 percent of Americans expressed a preference for limits. Furthermore, 83 percent of respondents voiced their support or strong support for pregnancy resource centers. These centers, described in the survey as places that provide support during pregnancy and after birth without performing abortions, garnered widespread approval.

Knights of Columbus Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly emphasized the consistency in Americans’ support for legal restrictions on abortion and the overwhelming backing for pregnancy resource centers. The survey revealed that 58 percent of Americans support limits on abortion up to three months of pregnancy, with 40 percent identifying as pro-life and 58 percent as pro-choice.

Breaking down the data by political affiliation, the survey found varying opinions. While 37 percent of Democrats support limits on abortion up to three months, 45 percent support abortions throughout pregnancy. Republicans, on the other hand, exhibit a different stance, with 85 percent supporting limits and 56 percent advocating for restrictions, allowing abortion only in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother.

The survey delved into Americans’ perspectives on exceptions in abortion laws, with 84 percent supporting allowances for rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. Notably, the majority of respondents, regardless of political affiliation, rejected the portrayal of pregnancy resource centers as “fake clinics,” emphasizing their mission of serving mothers and babies.

Dr. Barbara L. Carvalho, director of the Marist Poll, highlighted the enduring trend found in the annual Knights of Columbus-Marist Poll, emphasizing the continued public stance on limiting abortion. The survey, conducted with 1,371 adults between January 8-9, 2024, provides insights into the complex and evolving views of Americans on abortion and related issues ahead of the March for Life.
