Gen Z, Millennials Become More Pro-Life After Learning About Abortion Law: POLL

Millennials and members of Generation Z opposed abortion restrictions more strongly after learning what the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade permitted, according to a poll released by Students For Life (SFL) Thursday.

The poll, conducted by SFL, a leading pro-life organization that works primarily with students in high school and in college, and YouGov-Vinea found that, initially, 52% of Gen Z and Millennials supported codifying abortion restrictions allowed under Roe. However, after being informed of the restrictions permitted by Roe, the number of those supporting codifying it dropped down to 37%, and those in opposition to codifying Roe increased by 25 points from 22% to 47%.

Voters were initially asked whether or not they were in favor of codifying Roe v. Wade, which was overturned in June 2022, without any further information or questions, according to the poll. Afterward, the respondents were asked several follow-up questions regarding abortion up to nine months, taxpayer-funded abortions and health and safety standards for abortion facilities.

Gen Z and Millennials voted strongly or somewhat against abortion by up to nine months by 46%, while 36% were strongly or somewhat in favor of abortion up to the moment of birth, according to the poll. The poll found a decline in support for taxpayer-funded abortions from 56% to 43% since 2022, while 38% of respondents were in favor of implementing certain health and safety standards such as screening for ectopic pregnancies, ultrasounds, blood tests and in-person care requirements to prevent sexual abuse.

“The poll shows that young voters don’t buy the extremist agenda that the Biden Administration is selling,” Kristi Hamrick, vice president of Media and Policy for SFL, told the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF). Jane’s Revenge Allegedly Threatens to Kill Pro-Lifers at Omaha Churches

Threatening letters allegedly written by members of the radical pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge were sent to two churches in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday, Fox News Digital reported.

On Saturday afternoon, the first note was discovered taped to the St. John Paul II Newman Center near the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s Scott Campus. The Catholic-affiliated center serves as a housing facility and community space for UNO students.

“If our right to abortion in Bellevue is taken away due to the attempt to pass an abortion ban and it gets passed we will shoot up your Newman Center with our new AR-14 rifles. Sincerely, Jane’s Revenge,” the note to the Catholic center allegedly read.

The letter, which was addressed to the Newman Center director, Rev. Dan Andrews, was discovered by Students for Life members. The group’s president, Kristan Hawkins, posted a photograph of the threatening note on social media.

Hawkins wrote that the group of pro-life activists was meeting at the center over the weekend to “strategize about how to use @studentsforlife’s Campaign for Abortion Free Cities to shut down the late-term abortion facility in the state.”

Restaurant Refuses to Serve Customers Because They’re Pro-Life, Pro-Family

The head of The Family Foundation of Virginia is reporting that a Richmond restaurant abruptly canceled the group’s reservation for a meeting room and meals because the group is pro-life and pro-family.

In a column at The Federalist, Victoria Cobb explained the cancellation by Metzger’s Bar and Butchery, which “refused to service our pre-reserved event,” left her group “scrambling.”

“The intolerant leftist mob is coming for Christians everywhere, and we were just the latest target in the way this past Wednesday night,” she explained.

“For weeks, we had planned a gathering in a private room to fellowship and update supporters on our work. About an hour and a half before the event was set to take place, one of the restaurant’s owners called our team to cancel. An employee had looked up our organization, and their wait staff refused to serve us.”

She said the restaurant official claimed “that our pro-life and pro-traditional-marriage positions violated the ‘basic human rights’ of women and LGBT individuals.” (Read more from “Restaurant Refuses to Serve Customers Because They’re Pro-Life, Pro-Family” HERE)

Hillary Clinton Compares Pro-Life Efforts in U.S. To Afghanistan, Sudan

Former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton criticized recent pro-life wins, comparing actions that protect unborn life to those in countries around the world where women’s rights have historically been severely restricted.

At the Women’s Voice Summit held at the Clinton Presidential Center in Arkansas on Friday, Clinton said the United States was like Sudan and Afghanistan with regard to abortion.

“It’s so shocking to think that in any way we’re related to poor Afghanistan and Sudan,” she said. “But as an advanced economy as we allegedly are, on this measure, we unfortunately are rightly put with them.”

“This struggle is between autocracy and democracy from our country to places we can’t even believe we’re being compared to,” she said.

In Sudan, abortion is legal if a child was conceived in rape or if the mother’s life is in danger. In Afghanistan, it is only allowed to save the life of the mother.

Lawsuit Could Force the FDA to Rescind Approval of Abortion Pills That Endanger Mom and Baby Alike

Thanks to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, pro-life protections in states around the country have led dozens of abortion facilities to close their doors. But the pro-abortion industry is working overtime to fill the gap with another version of the deadly atrocity: the abortion pill.

Even though the abortion pill delivers a painful death to unborn babies and also poses significant risks to mothers, it’s still approved by U.S. health officials. But that needs to change, argues a new lawsuit.

Four pro-life medical organizations and four doctors filed a lawsuit in a Texas federal court last week against the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Department of Health and Human Services to reverse the approval of the abortion pill called mifepristone, which currently allows mothers to kill their unborn child up through the 10th week of pregnancy. They are represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, which also played a key role in the Dobbs case.

“[T]he FDA failed America’s women and girls when it chose politics over science and approved chemical abortion drugs for use in the United States,” the complaint states. “And it has continued to fail them by repeatedly removing even the most basic precautionary requirements associated with their use.”

As The Wall Street Journal summarized, the lawsuit argues that “the FDA exceeded its authority to approve the drug because the agency used a process meant for treatments of serious or life-threatening illnesses, and there wasn’t scientific evidence to support the approval and other decisions.” (Read more from “Lawsuit Could Force the FDA to Rescind Approval of Abortion Pills That Endanger Mom and Baby Alike” HERE)

The FBI Has Announced Indictments Of 22 Pro-Life Protesters And Zero Pregnancy Center Firebombers

The Department of Justice under Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the indictment of pro-life activist Herb Geraghty on Oct. 14, bringing the number of apparently nonviolent pro-life protesters targeted under the FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) Act by President Joe Biden’s DOJ this year to 22. Meanwhile, the agency has yet to announce a single arrest or indictment against any of the vandals or arsonists who terrorized and firebombed crisis pregnancy centers after the leak of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Geraghty, a 25-year-old from Pittsburgh, is accused of participating in a “reproductive health care clinic blockade in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 22, 2020.” Along with nine other defendants, the DOJ alleges, Geraghty “forcefully entered the [abortion facility] and set about blockading two clinic doors using their bodies, furniture, chains and ropes.” In March, the FBI announced indictments against the other nine: “Lauren Handy, 28, of Alexandria, Virginia; Jonathan Darnel, 40, of Arlington, Virginia, Jay Smith, 32, of Freeport, New York; Paulette Harlow, 73, of Kingston, Massachusetts; Jean Marshall, 72, of Kingston, Massachusetts; John Hinshaw, 67, of Levittown, New York; Heather Idoni, 61, of Linden, Michigan; William Goodman, 52, of the Bronx, New York; and Joan Bell, 74, of Montague, New Jersey.”

“The indictment also alleges that all 10 defendants violated the FACE Act by using a physical obstruction to injure, intimidate and interfere with the clinic’s employees and a patient, because they were providing or obtaining reproductive health services,” the DOJ continued in its recent press release. Looming Questions in FBI’s Raid of Pro-Life Father Prove America’s Distrust in FBI

New documents reveal missing holes in the FBI’s case against a pro-life, conservative father whose Pennsylvania home was raided. . .

However, the documents show holes in the charges against the father of seven.

One of them is the decision to raid Houck’s home, even after his attorney sent a letter to Assistant U.S. Attorney Anita Eve that if the government did move forward with a case against Houck, his attorney would accept a summons on his client’s behalf so that Houck and his family would not need to go through needless disruption.

However, it wasn’t until after the raid did Houck and his attorney received a response.

“When the defendant has a lawyer, a respected former federal prosecutor, offering to bring the deferment wherever the US attorney’s office would like him presented there is no reason to send one agent, much less 20… the question is why there were a bunch of people with long guns, ballistic shields and body armor outside this peaceful person’s home to effect an arrest warrant that was utterly unnecessary and put the Houck family in danger,” Houck’s attorney, Peter Breen said. If the Feds Go After a Pro-Lifer Who Shoved a Bully, They’ll Go After Anyone

On Sept. 23, Pennsylvania pro-life activist Mark Houck was arrested on federal criminal charges. The details of the alleged crime and the arrest itself remain disputed, but we know enough to make a couple of observations about our nation and the current political climate.

Houck was arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a volunteer at a Philadelphia abortion facility. Unsurprisingly, the accounts differ as to what occurred. The Department of Justice issued a press release stating that Houck twice assaulted the alleged victim because he was a volunteer at an abortion facility. . .

Already we have a federalism problem here. Perhaps we have become too quick to accept the existence of an elaborate regime of federal criminal law. But as we know from the Tenth Amendment, the federal government has only the limited powers enumerated in the Constitution, with any remaining powers being reserved to the states or the people. From this comes the accepted principle in our federalist republic that states have the general police power. Federal criminal statutes and prosecutions must be limited to cases where the Constitution grants enumerated powers, such as interstate activity or crimes involving foreign agents and national security.

In this case, what we have is a very uneventful assault, where one man pushed another man. Hardly the stuff of a federal crime. An assault is a run-of-the-mill crime, and it is up to states to criminalize and prosecute such routine offenses. It is only when the assault occurs in a discriminatory way — in this case, because the alleged victim works at an abortion facility — that the feds claim jurisdiction. It remains questionable whether access to abortion facilities and assaults that occur on these properties should be within the jurisdiction of federal criminal authorities at all, but that goes beyond the scope of this essay.

A recent article on the incident explains that the Justice Department relies on the section of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act that “prohibits violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain or provide reproductive health services.” (Read more from “If the Feds Go After a Pro-Lifer Who Shoved a Bully, They’ll Go After Anyone” HERE)

Abortion Landscape: Pregnancy Centers See Uptick in Calls Since Dobbs; Doctors Weigh In on Fetal Pain

Since the Supreme Court decided on the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case in June, effectively overturning Roe v. Wade, the landscape of abortion in the United States has shifted as pregnancy centers receive more calls and the conversation changes.

States have moved to restrict abortion or increase access to the procedure. California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom even took out advertisements in Republican-led states, telling women how to get an abortion in California.

Jessica Warner of Heartbeat International told The Daily Wire that pregnancy centers have seen a change since the Dobbs decision.

“According to an informal poll we conducted at the end of July, we found that 66% of centers have seen an increase in calls since the Dobbs decision,” she said over email. “Option Line, our 24/7 national pregnancy helpline, has not seen a significant increase or decrease in contacts who are at risk for abortion, however we have noted a slight increase in those who seem to be on the fence about abortion.”

Warner said they think there has not been more of an uptick “due to the censorship we have seen from Big Tech. Google has banned the [sic] our ability to advertise Abortion Pill Reversal since September of 2021, following the Texas Heartbeat Bill being put into law.” (Read more from “Abortion Landscape: Pregnancy Centers See Uptick in Calls Since Dobbs; Doctors Weigh In on Fetal Pain” HERE)
