DOJ Opens Epstein Investigation

By NBC News. The Justice Department has launched an investigation into how federal government lawyers handled the case of a wealthy Florida man accused of having sex with underage girls, a DOJ official confirmed Thursday.

One of those lawyers, Alex Acosta, is now President Donald Trump’s labor secretary. But he was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida when key decisions about the case of Jeffrey Epstein were made. Prosecutors looked into allegations that Epstein abused dozens of teenage girls in his West Palm Beach mansion in the early 2000s. He eventually pleaded guilty to state charges involving a single victim in 2008.

But according to a civil lawsuit filed by other women who said they were among Epstein’s victims, one of the conditions of that deal was that a much larger federal investigation into Epstein and the people who helped him in his scheme would be dropped. Epstein, 66, served 13 months in jail and was allowed to leave almost every day through a work release program.

An investigation by The Miami Herald said that Acosta helped engineer the deal involving only state charges and agreed that it would be kept secret from other victims until it was presented in court, denying them a chance to object. The newspaper’s reporting led members of Congress to seek a Justice Department investigation. Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., called the Epstein plea deal an “epic miscarriage of justice.”

On Thursday, the Justice Department notified Sasse that the department’s Office of Professional Responsibility “has now opened an investigation into allegations that Department attorneys may have committed professional misconduct in the manner in which the Epstein criminal matter was resolved.” The letter does not mention Acosta by name. Poll Reveals How Americans Felt About Trump’s SOTU; Trump STUNS With Hardcore Pro-Life Stance

By Breitbart. A CBS News poll shows 72 percent of speech watchers said they approved of President Donald Trump’s immigration ideas presented during Tuesday evening’s State of the Union address, while 76 percent approved of his remarks overall.

In a snap poll conducted by CNN, 76 percent of speech viewers said they feel positive about the address. According to CNN analyst David Chalian, 59 percent believed the speech was very positive, while 17 percent said it was somewhat positive.

23 percent of viewers called it negative.

Trump delivered the belated annual address before a joint session of Congress in the House chamber, as he called on lawmakers to approve his “commonsense” proposal for an expanded physical border at the U.S.-Mexico border that was at the center of the government shutdown that pushed the address back a week. Donald Trump Slams Northam’s Nasty Abortion Comments at SOTU

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump slammed Virginia Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam’s comments on late-term abortion in front of several conservative leaders at a State of the Union preview meeting Monday evening, according to a Tuesday report.

Politico reported that Trump spoke for five minutes with conservative leaders— including pro-life advocates Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins and Susan B. Anthony List’s Marjorie Dannenfelser— about how it was outrageous that public officials were thinking about including newborn babies in discussions about allowing late-term abortions.

In his comments, Trump referenced Northam’s remarks about “nonviable” newborn babies.

“When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother, with the consent of the physician—more than one physician, by the way—and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities,” Northam said in a Wednesday radio interview with WTOP. “There may be a fetus that’s non-viable.”

SOTU: Trump Recognizes Redding Family of Couple Slain in Nevada, Vows to Get Border Wall Built

By Reno Gazette Journal. About 40 minutes into his address, President Trump recognized the Redding family of a Nevada couple who were killed by a man who was in the United States illegally . . .

“Few can understand your pain,” said the president, speaking to the family as they stood and Debra wiped away tears.

“Thank you for being here. I will never forget and I will fight for the memory of Gerald and Sharon that it should never happen again. Not one more American life should be lost because our nation failed to control its very dangerous border,” said Trump. . .

Trump in his address vowed he would get a wall built on the southern border of the country. . .

1000+ Top Scientists Challenge the Massive Fraud of Evolution

With Darwin Day, February 12, approaching, it’s good to report that the “Scientific Dissent from Darwinism” list currently tops a thousand names of PhD scientists who publicly declare their skepticism in the face of absolutist claims for evolutionary theory. The key word there is “publicly.”

February 12 is Charles Darwin’s birthday…The Dissent statement represents a splash of cold water on the great man. It reads, “We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged.” The signers hold professorships or doctorates from Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Berkeley, MIT, UCLA, the University of Pennsylvania, and many other prominent institutions. . .

The nonexistence of scientific skepticism was only natural since, as Darwin lobbyist Eugenie Scott would say in 2009, “There are no weaknesses in the theory of evolution.” See here for the “The Top Ten Scientific Problems with Biological and Chemical Evolution.”

What’s significant about the Dissent from Darwinism list is not so much the names and the institutions listed there but what they tell you about the many Darwin skeptics in the science world who wouldn’t dare sign. Scientists know the career costs that would come from publicly challenging evolutionary theory. Discovery Institute and its sister research lab, Biologic Institute, have welcomed refugees who were chased out of top spots in the research world. The signers of the Dissent list have all risked their careers or reputations in signing. Such is the power of groupthink. The scientific mainstream will punish you if they can, and the media is wedded to its narrative that “the scientists” are all in agreement and only “poets,” “lawyers,” and other “daft rubes” doubt Darwinian theory. In fact, I’m currently seeking to place an awesome manuscript by a scientist at an Ivy League university with the guts to give his reasons for rejecting Darwinism. Where in the World Is Ruth Bader Ginsburg?!

The Associate Justice has not made a public appearance, as of today,* for 51 consecutive days. Her most recent appearance occurred on December 15, 2018, when she recorded an interview at “The Museum of the City of New York,” broadcast on a few different networks in early January. (1) However, it has been 60 days since she was last seen on the bench – December 6, 2018. (2)

Moreover, Justice Ginsburg has canceled or missed at least three recent public appearances. She canceled one event on January 29 entitled, “An Evening With Ruth Bader Ginsburg” at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. (3) She also canceled her appearance at 92nd Y Street Jewish Cultural Center in New York where she was slated to have a public conversation with David Rubinstein on February 6. (4) Earlier, Ginsburg missed all oral arguments from January 7 through January 16, as well as all non-argument sessions and conference days with the court up to that point since her hospitalization. (5)

As of yesterday, Justice Ginsburg – who normally averages one or two major public appearances per week – has completely cleared her public speaking and engagement schedule until July of this year. (6)

There still isn’t any official word if Ruth Ginsburg is going to be at the State of the Union Address Tuesday. However, it isn’t uncommon for Supreme Court Justices to skip those, either. For example, Antonin Scalia did not attend the State of the Union for 20 consecutive years. (7) Ginsburg has also chosen to skip the SOTU. After engaging in a spat with President Trump last year, Ginsburg did not attend the State of the Union.

Justice Ginsburg’s absence from office and public life has led some in conservative camps to suggest that she has died or is hiding. Progressives have lampooned that suggestion, noting that Ginsburg has been in communications with a documentary crew as recently as last week, and that she has continued to read transcripts of oral arguments (supposedly with the full approval of Chief Justice John Roberts). Allegedly, Ginsburg is also writing opinions for court cases whose oral arguments she wasn’t able to attend due to her medical limitations. (10) Whatever her status, no one on the left or right can say for sure where Justice Ginsburg is, and what further medical issues she may be suffering from. This has led to rampant speculation and some reporting errors. Recently, “Fox and Friends” reported that the Justice had passed away. (11)

The US Supreme Court is set to reconvene for oral arguments on February 19, following its standard one-month break after the two weeks of arguments in January. All eyes will be on Washington DC to see if Justice Ginsburg will be able to attend those deliberations.

If she doesn’t show up publicly before then, speculation as to her well-being will continue to mount. Already, nonmainstream websites are claiming that Justice Ginsburg has contracted pneumonia. Some of this has probably been motivated by the December 21 report of Dr. Raja Flores, chair of thoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, who predicted, following Ginsburg’s lobectomy: “As long as she recovers from surgery well, she should be fine. I don’t think people should worry,” Flores said. The biggest risks, he said, will be pneumonia and blood clots. (12) Nevertheless, progressive fact checking websites Inquistor and Snopes both flatly reject reports of Ginsburg suffering from any such conditions. (13)

The anonymous posting website called 8chan – popularized by Q followers – has reported (via a “Lindsey B.” who claims to be at Ginsburg’s hospital) that the justice has contracted pneumonia and is in a medically induced coma. She suggests Ginsburg’s location is somewhere in the Nevada Dessert. But after posting one photo, “Lindsey B.” has gone silent. The image that she posted has since been enhanced, revealing a person with her mouth open, but Ginsburg’s identity cannot be verified due to the poor overall quality of the picture. (14) Of course, there’s no way to authenticate this story, even though it has already traveled far and wide via social media.

Perhaps these reports of the associate justice’s debilitating health issues are nothing more than fake news. But the drama will continue as long as Ginsburg’s extended – and highly unusual – absence from public life continues. Given her office, transparency is in order but seems to be as absent as the associate justice herself.

*Editor’s note: This article was written on February 4, 2019. Importantly, several MSM stories today (February 5) have reported that a few attendees at a musical function in Ginsburg’s honor last night claimed to have seen Ginsburg briefly but, of course, no one got a photo. Given Ginsburg’s absence from the public for weeks, the lack of any cell camera footage from last night’s alleged appearance raises real questions as to whether she was really there.

Oh, so This Was the Person Who Revealed the Racist Photo on Ralph Northam’s Yearbook Page

By Townhall. Well, it seems support for late-term abortion is what created the fiasco that has embroiled Virginia’s Democratic governor. Pretty much everyone has besieged Gov. Ralph Northam, especially within his own party. They’re urging him to resign after a yearbook photo from his days at Eastern Virginia Medical School was unearthed last week. The picture shows two men donning racist costumes on his 1984 page. One is wearing blackface while the other figure donned Ku Klux Klan garb. Northam apologized for the photo, admitting he was in it last Friday night. He did not specify which person he was in the photo. Was he the KKK man or the blackface dude?

On Saturday, the dumpster fire grew when Northam retracted his apology, saying that wasn’t him in the photo. Then, he admitted to doing blackface, saying he dressed as Michael Jackson in the past. So, Northam’s defense is ‘the photo on my yearbook page that shows someone in blackface isn’t me, but I’ve done blackface before whose pictures haven’t been seen.’ . . .

The Washington Post interviewed Patrick Howley of Big League Politics, who got the scoop on the yearbook photo. He told the publication a former classmate of Northam’s tipped him off. The reason: Northam’s comments about abortion (via WaPo) [emphasis mine]:

The reporter who exposed the racist photo on Gov. Ralph Northam’s yearbook page said a “concerned citizen” led him to the story that has prompted widespread outrage and calls for the Democrat’s resignation. . .

“It’s very easy to explain,” Howley, 29, said in an interview Saturday. “A concerned citizen, not a political opponent, came to us and pointed this out. I was very offended [by the photo] because I don’t like racism.”

Fairfax suggests Gov. Northam could be behind leaked sexual assault allegation

By Fox News. Virginia Democratic Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax on Monday, when asked by a reporter, did not rule out the possibility that embattled Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam could be secretly pushing a newly revealed sexual assault allegation against Fairfax to derail his possible ascension to the governorship.

And in a separate, fiery statement late Sunday, Fairfax accused The Washington Post of “smearing an elected official,” reiterated that the sexual assault allegation against him is “false,” and seemingly threatened to sue the paper for rebuking his earlier characterization of the evidence surrounding the episode.

“This is what we meant when we said that people who continue to spread these false allegations will be sued,” Fairfax said.

Fairfax’s extraordinary comments came as Northam faces a torrent of pressure from both Democrats and Republicans to resign, after a now-infamous yearbook photo surfaced showing someone in blackface and someone in a KKK costume on Northam’s 1984 medical school yearbook page.

In a post published on the right-wing website Big League Politics on Sunday night, a woman accused a politician fitting Fairfax’s description of sexually assaulting her in a hotel room during the Democratic National Convention in Boston in 2004. Lone Dem Senator Blocks Bill Banning Infanticide for Babies Who Survive Abortions

On Monday, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), blocking a Senate bill that would require doctors to give aid to babies who survived abortions, objected to the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and her one vote was enough to prevent the Senate from passing the bill in a unanimous consent vote, LifeSiteNews reports.

Last Thursday, Senator Ben Sasse (R-NB) requested the unanimous consent vote after Virginia Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam, a pediatric neurologist, had made comments indicating he did not object to letting an infant die after its birth, indicating that a born-alive “infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired.” Sasse had already called for a unanimous consent vote to pass a resolution defending the Knights of Columbus in mid-January. That resolution was passed unanimously.

According to the rules of the Senate:

A senator may request unanimous consent on the floor to set aside a specified rule of procedure so as to expedite proceedings. If no Senator objects, the Senate permits the action, but if any one senator objects, the request is rejected. Unanimous consent requests with only immediate effects are routinely granted, but ones affecting the floor schedule, the conditions of considering a bill or other business, or the rights of other senators, are normally not offered, or a floor leader will object to it, until all senators concerned have had an opportunity to inform the leaders that they find it acceptable.

Sasse appealed to the conscience of the entire Senate, saying, “Just a few years ago, the abortion lobby was really clear in its talk about hoping abortion would be … safe, legal, and rare. Now we’re talking about keeping the baby comfortable while the doctors have a debate about infanticide. MUST WATCH: CBS Rejects Patriotic, Pro-Flag Super Bowl Ad From Vet-Owned Company

CBS has rejected an ad from a veteran-owned athletic wear company, likely over concerns that the ad was “too political.”

The ad, which “features soldiers, first responders, and images of military graves decorated with American flags and gives credit to them for protecting the rights of those like Kaepernick to protest,” was titled “Just Stand,” and promoted clothing from Nine Line apparel, a veteran-owned athletic wear company, according to the Washington Examiner.

CBS reportedly told Nine Line that they weren’t confident the company, which pulls in a cool $25 million per year, could afford the steep, $5.25 million price tag for a 30-second spot during Sunday night’s big game, but a spokesperson for Nine Line says CBS objected to the ad’s overly political content.

The ad parodies a Nike ad from earlier in the NFL season that featured former 49ers second string quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who is best known for “taking a knee” during the national anthem as a way of protesting racism. The controversial Nike ad celebrated Kaepernick for “sacrifing everything.” . . .

Nine Line’s ad opens with a similar line, narrated by a survior of the horrific attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which took the lives of four American officials and the American ambassador. The ad opens with the line, “Don’t ask if your loyalty is crazy. Ask if it’s crazy enough.”

Veteran: “I Do Not Recognize My Country. This Is Not the America I Grew up in, or Honorably Served”

I don’t know how you feel about your future, but I am concerned about the very survival of our Blessed Nation, the U.S. Constitution, our fundamental freedoms, and our academic institutions with their Secular Socialist indoctrination of our youth, our future leaders. This subtle moral decline following the removal of God from our nation, schools and public square has been going on for decades. Now it seems to have reached a crucial point, especially following the midterm election of Democratic Socialists and Muslims to the U.S. Congress. Unfortunately, I do not recognize my country. This is not the America I grew up in, or honorably served.

Never have I seen such absolute hatred demonstrated daily toward our president as we see against President Trump by the mainstream media, Hollywood, Democrats and elitist Republicans. Its alarming to see the corrupt Republican leadership in the Senate and Congress blocking President Trump’s agenda along with the total corruption of the FBI, DOJ, CIA and IRS in their attempt to destroy President Trump and his presidency. And, never have I seen such hate and disrespect toward Constitutional Justices as we witnessed against Justice Kavanaugh and also against anyone supporting President Trump.

The Mueller investigation is an absurd illegal corrupt investigation based upon lies and false evidence. Their latest gestapo-like break-in and raids on anyone associated with President Trump is alarming. Their wiliness to rapidly prosecute anyone associated with the Trump administration and the obvious unwillingness to prosecute anyone associated with these government agencies, the Obamas or the Clintons that have habitually lied and falsified documents shows an alarming judicial double standard.

Why is this happening? And why such hate? President Trump is a threat and real present danger in exposing the lies and corruption of the Deep State, The Democratic Party, the elite establishment in the Republican Party and the out-of-control bureaucracy (now the fourth branch of government).

Why are the Senate and House Democratic Leaders so adamant to impeach President Trump? Why do the Democrats want to maintain open borders and encourage the invasion of illegal aliens coming into our nation? Why is our country so culturally divided? Why is there such hate throughout our nation?

Please consider reading DEATH OF A NATION, by Dinesh D’Souza and watch the DVD if you wonder why. I have read several of his books and other excellent books on Trump and the Deep State. I found this book to be historically informative and extremely alarming on how “We the People” have been lied to and deceived by our elected politicians, especially the Progressive Secular Socialist Democrats.

Largest U.S. Christian University Blocks Ben Shapiro From Speaking on Campus. Then Officials Release Statement.

Officials at Grand Canyon University, the largest Christian university in the United States, last week blocked conservative commentator Ben Shapiro from speaking on campus as part of an upcoming Young Americans Foundation event.

Now, the university is facing criticism after officials released a lengthy statement explaining the decision to bar Shapiro. . .

In a scathing statement Friday, YAF spokesman Spencer Brown revealed that GCU officials told students the university would not “provide a venue” for Shapiro’s upcoming speech.

School administrators reportedly also said that Shapiro’s speech style is divisive and “cut throat.” Additionally, YAF reported that GCU president Brian Mueller personally approved denying Shapiro a venue, believing the university would dodge negative media attention.

Brown said in a statement: “By caving to an unseen mob and ignoring the popularity of Shapiro among its student body, Grand Canyon University just played itself and deserves whatever negative response this brings. U.S. City Is Dealing With a Deadly, Flea-Borne Typhus Outbreak

The city of Los Angeles is suffering from an outbreak of a “middle ages” and “pioneer days” disease —typhus — typically found in homeless populations.

The outbreak began in October, according to CNN, with 57 cases of the flea- and flea feces-borne disease in downtown Los Angeles, not typically a hotbed of rare diseases. That was up from around 6 cases over the summer, all found in people “experiencing homelessness.” . . .

A local NBC affiliate says city officials assumed that the disease would remain largely within the homeless population, but lately, cases of typhus have been cropping up among an unexpected group of people: city officials. . .

Greenwood speculates that she got typhus fever from fleas riding on the rats that occasionally infest Los Angeles city buildings. Those fleas get their typhus from piles of garbage surrounding homeless encampments throughout the city. . .

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who recently announced he would not pursue a presidential campaign in 2020, has been trying to control the typhus epidemic largely by allocating funds for trash cleanup, particularly in areas where homeless people gather to live for extended periods of time, including the city’s famous Skid Row.
