YouTube Transgender Bathroom ‘Experiment’ Results in Screams of Outrage

Photo Credit, Serene Lau, Innovation Storyteller, Garfield Innovation CenterWhen YouTube sensation Joey Salads conducts what he calls a “social experiment,” you can bet there will be outrage amid the hilarity.

Such was the case in his most recent video, in which the dark-complexioned Salads donned a blonde wig and a dress, proclaimed himself as a transsexual and walked into a women’s bathroom.

Salads was prompted to stage the video after North Carolina caused a liberal outcry after passing legislation requiring men and women to use bathrooms that correspond with their biological birth genders.

It did not take long to find out that Salads was not welcome.

“You can’t be in here!” the first woman he followed into the bathroom yelled at him. “You can’t just say you’re a girl!”

The next two women he followed into the bathroom were also highly offended and equally vocal. (Read more from “YouTube Transgender Bathroom ‘Experiment’ Results in Screams of Outrage” HERE)

Hillary Clinton Receives Rude Awakening by Bernie Supporters

Hillary_Clinton_speaking_at_Families_USA (2)Award-winning Hollywood actor and political activist George Clooney voiced his support for Hillary Clinton and even held a $33,400 per plate fundraiser at his Los Angeles home over the weekend. But the invited guests were not the only ones who showed up for the event. Bernie Sanders counter-protesters were also prepared with their own party crashing plans.

Sanders supporters lined the streets outside Clooney’s home, holding posters. One poster was designed to resemble an Exxon logo and had the words written, “Big Oil 4 Hillary: We Fracking Love You.” Others lifted “Feel the Bern” posters. However, it was what the protesters did when Clinton drove by in her motorcade that drew the most attention. As Clinton’s armored car drove past, protesters showered the car with dollars bills, and blasted the 1930’s song “We’re in the Money.”

One of Clooney’s Sanders supporting neighbors, Howard Gold, even held his own per person fundraiser at a cost of only $27 per person. Rubbing the per person savings in Clooney’s face, the protesters held up signs reading “Feel the Bern: Only $27.”

Gold, who founded the 99 Cents Store chain of retail outlets, dubbed his counter event the “99% Party” in reference to Clinton and Clooney representing the richest 1 percent of Americans, while the working class are the 99 percent. The $27 price was a reference to the average donation Sanders’ supporters donate. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Receives Rude Awakening by Bernie Supporters” HERE)

Why Cruz Could Beat Clinton

6236460755_af70e60869_bThe main reason Cruz will be competitive for the presidency is the fundamental reality of the 2016 election. With the backdrop of a disaffected electorate and a deeply polarizing president leaving office after two terms, any Republican nominee benefits from being the candidate of change. Democrats are also dealing with their own deepening intra-party divide—one that, if it weren’t for the headline-grabbing rise of Donald Trump, would be the defining theme of the 2016 elections . . .

Cruz brings some unheralded assets to the race, even as a weaker-than-usual Republican nominee.

First, he has a lot more opportunity to reorient his campaign message for a general election than Clinton has in refurbishing her run-down image. Cruz critics assume his mediocre favorability numbers will get even worse in a general election, but his public standing is bound to improve if Republicans rally around him as the nominee. And if Cruz is so power-hungry, as his critics claim, it’s easy to imagine him making the necessary compromises to win a presidential election. He’s never going to be likable, but he has opportunities to soften his rough edges . . .

Second, the polling points to a competitive general election between Clinton and Cruz. National polls show the race within 3 points (according to the RealClearPolitics average), with reputable state polls showing Cruz tied with her in blue-state Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Cruz consistently runs far more competitively against Clinton than Trump does. Her numbers have been consistently weak despite a fairly civil primary campaign in which Bernie Sanders has mostly stuck to issues, and avoided raising questions about her personal integrity.

Third, Cruz is the most likely Republican to hold together a fraying coalition at the Cleveland convention. He’s locked down the traditional conservative base, he has half-hearted backing from the establishment (thanks to Trump), and, not long ago, he was considered the clear second-choice candidate for Trump backers. Trump would divide the party, and nominating a “white knight” candidate would risk alienating the clear majority of GOP voters who have backed outsider, antiestablishment candidates this year. Once Seen as White House Triumph, New Nation of South Sudan Descends Into War, Misery

Village_in_South_SudanJust five years ago, celebrities such as George Clooney and Don Cheadle hailed the creation of a new African nation as one of President Obama’s foreign policy success stories, but now South Sudan is looking like a failed state.

The nation, sought as a means of bringing peace to Sudan’s long-running civil war, was promoted as a potential U.S. ally and was formed following a referendum passed with 98 percent of the vote to secede from the northern part of Sudan and the Khartoum government. But hope has given way to desperation, as South Sudan has descended into bloodshed and chaos.

“The euphoria has faded and South Sudan is an embarrassment for the administration, and that comes with reputational costs,” Joshua Meservey, policy analyst for Africa and the Middle East at The Heritage Foundation, told FoxNews.com. “Bringing attention to it is not in the White House’s interest.”

Meservey said the U.S.-backed solution was based on a “very superficial” grasp of the war between Sudan and South Sudan, and the deep divisions that existed in the nascent nation . . .

The civil war that rocked Sudan from 1983-2005 started in what is now South Sudan, and would eventually see more than 2 million people die as a direct result of war or of famine and disease related to the conflict. Twice as many people were displaced before a peace agreement was signed in 2005 and laid the groundwork for the creation of the new nation. Alaska Professor Mauled by Bear During Mountaineering Class

Brown_bearAn assistant college professor was mauled by a bear while teaching a mountaineering course in the Alaska Panhandle Monday, a university spokeswoman said.

Forest Wagner, 35, of Fairbanks, was with a group of 12 University of Alaska Southeast students on Mount Emmerich near Haines when he was attacked. A student hiked down the mountain to get cell reception and call for help.

Wagner was in stable condition at an Anchorage hospital, according to a university statement sent to KTUU. None of the students were harmed.

According to a police report, Wagner was removed from the mountain via helicopter and put on another LifeMed helicopter before being taken him to the hospital.

According to Wagner’s teaching schedule, he was part of a Mountaineering 101 class that was scheduled to come down off of the mountain by Tuesday. He has been coordinating and teaching in the outdoor studies program at the university since 2006, according to his biography. He teaches rock and ice climbing, backcountry navigation, glacier travel and mountaineering. (Read more from “Alaska Professor Mauled by Bear During Mountaineering Class” HERE)

Watch: Trump Discusses 9/11 During Speech in New York — but Makes This One Big Mistake

Just hours before the polls open in New York, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump mistakenly mixed up 9/11 with the convenience store 7-Eleven, the chain known for its Slurpees and Big Gulps.

“I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart,” he told supporters at a Buffalo, New York, rally. “Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down, and I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”

Trump did not catch the mistake during the speech and had not yet acknowledged the flub at the time of publication.

The real estate mogul was using the opportunity to discuss the “New York values that we all know so well,” praising the construction workers, bystanders and first responders for their bravery during the 9/11 attacks. Obama Did Not Press Putin on Recent Military Provocations

Vladimir PutinPresident Obama did not raise Russian military provocations against a Navy warship and Air Force intelligence jet last week during a Monday phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the White House disclosed Monday.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the president had “an intense discussion” by telephone with Putin, but not about two dangerous aerial actions by Russian warplanes.

The conversation instead was limited to Russian activities in Ukraine, where Moscow has militarily annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula, and the conflict in Syria.

“We have ample opportunities to express our concerns about these kinds of provocative actions to the Russians and it did not necessitate a presidential level conversation,” Earnest told reporters at the White House.

Two Russian Su-24 jets buzzed the guided missile destroyer USS Donald Cook in the Baltic Sea on April 14, flying dangerously close to the ship as it was conducting operations. (Read more from “Obama Did Not Press Putin on Recent Military Provocations” HERE)

What Was Wrong With Hillary During Her Recent Radio Interview? [+video]

25982302985_7cf1db94e3_bFormer Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had another coughing episode this morning during a radio interview with New York city radio show The Breakfast Club.

Excuse me,” she said coughing, after speaking for about 20 minutes on the air.

“Allergy season,” she said, as she continued coughing, reaching for her drink.

“You all right? Any mouth to mouth CPR?” one of the hosts joked, trying to lighten the mood.

“Senator, you coughing like you have something medicinal,” another host said. (Read more from “What Was Wrong With Hillary During Her Recent Radio Interview?” HERE)

Establishment Senators Push GOP Unity Ahead of Conservative Values

6161473677_d865e1b30f_b (1)The nickname was reinforced last week by a behind the scenes account of GOP senators who view their “club” as a pretty exclusive place.

Basically, conservative ideas, opinions, and research need not apply.

The main focus of The Hill’s article was about GOP senators criticizing Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, for not showing more “collegiality” towards fellow Republicans, i.e., not being more of a go along, get along, get in line type of lawmaker.

Lee apparently believes the GOP conference rule on term limits, which holds that senators in leadership positions must step aside after three terms, should be followed. But as the account reveals, this is about more than certain senators just wanting to hold on to their leadership positions. It would seem some senators don’t like the fact that Lee and his staff talk to people outside the club to fact check and get input about legislation that has been introduced by other Republicans.

As The Hill reports:

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., accused Lee’s staff on the Republican Steering Committee of coordinating with outside groups to oppose compromise bills put together by Republican senators, according to sources who attended Thursday’s meeting…

Corker argued that it’s counterproductive for an internal Senate policy group funded with dues from GOP senators to stake out positions against bills championed by those member senators.

So, is Corker suggesting that the Republican Steering Committee should simply support whatever legislation any GOP senator, who is a member, introduces? Is he suggesting that senators should not seek research from outside groups about the impacts of this or that legislative proposal?

Frankly, I would expect my members of Congress to do a little homework. I don’t want them rubberstamping a bill simply because one of their colleagues introduced it or a group of them have put together a “compromise” bill.

Maybe Corker doesn’t like the fact that organizations like The Heritage Foundation have buildings full of researchers and policy experts whose full-time job it is to comb through legislative proposals, analyzing the pros and cons, what they will cost taxpayers, and how people will be affected by them. And that’s exactly what Heritage scholars did with a current proposal put forward by Corker dealing with the issue of human trafficking.

Corker should be applauded for taking on this issue. He should not take offense that Heritage’s analysis of the bill, which we made public as we do with all our research, found that the legislation needed to be strengthened to achieve its objectives and to ensure U.S. taxpayer dollars and “funds from any organization or program established by the U.S. government” are not spent in ways that conflict with U.S. policy.

Unfortunately, Corker isn’t alone in his view that organizations like Heritage and others, who represent millions of Americans, shouldn’t be meddling in their business. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, is quoted in the article saying that “Generally speaking, any effort that would encourage outside groups to weigh in on internal discussions is not healthy.”

When “internal discussions” are about the positive or negative impact a particular bill might have, it would seem our public servants shouldn’t be so afraid of input from, well, the public.

Perhaps Corker and Murkowski wish others weren’t paying such close attention so their legislative proposals could sail through. It would be much easier for them if things operated that way. But it would not be good for the American people—who may not “pay dues” to the Senate conference but who do pay the salaries of every member of Congress. ‘It’s a Rotten System’ Ron Paul Says US Elections Are Rigged, Voting Simply Used to Pacify the Public

Ronpaul1Dr. Ron Paul says the American electoral system is rigged to keep “independent thinkers” from succeeding.

“I see elections as so much of a charade,” the former Texas congressman said during an April 11 appearance on RT America’s “The Fishtank.” “So much deceit goes on.”

Paul is no stranger to the twisted rules of the American presidential horse race. He ran for the highest office as a Libertarian in 1988, and in 2008 and 2012 as a Republican.

He arguably came closest to the nomination in 2012, when the GOP amended its party regulations to prevent the former Texas representative from stealing Mitt Romney’s thunder.

Rule 40(b) of “The Rules of the Republican Party” was changed so the Republican National Committee could “limit the visibility and power of libertarian-minded Texas Rep. Ron Paul at the convention and thus present a unified front behind Mitt Romney, the presumptive nominee,” according to David Byler, an elections analyst at RealClearPolitics. The rule requires that, in order to win the nomination, a candidate must have the support of a majority of delegates from eight states.
