Despite Law Prohibiting Mandatory Vax, West Point Bans Unvaxxed Cadets from Travel; Cadet Dies Suddenly on Way to Class

West Point reimposes travel ban on unvaxxed cadets, despite repeal of military vax mandate

By Just the News. The United States Military Academy is reimposing restrictions on unvaccinated cadets despite the lifting of the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, reports military attorney R. Davis Younts, a reversal that comes even as Congress mulls legislation seeking redress for service members dismissed for vaccine refusal.

The Department of Defense rescinded the military vaccine mandate pursuant to the Dec. 23 enactment of the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which included a measure repealing the mandate.

During the height of the pandemic, West Point implemented a policy prohibiting cadets from traveling for sports or other events, according to Younts. After the vaccine was made available, only unvaccinated cadets were restricted from traveling. Then, last semester, while the military vaccine mandate was still in place, West Point dropped the policy, allowing unvaccinated cadets to travel for sports, the Army-Navy game, and other events.

After the Pentagon lifted the vaccine mandate, however, West Point reinstated the travel ban for unvaccinated cadets. Putting the “restrictions back in place” after the mandate was rescinded “feels like coercion” to force vaccination on the cadets, Younts said. He questions the “justification for the policy change,” while acknowledging that West Point has the authority to reinstate the restrictions. ‘A Total Shock’: Parents Mourn Sudden Death of Their Air Force Academy Son

By Veterans Legal Group. Candyce and Dustin Brown last spoke to their son Hunter by phone on Sunday, Jan. 8, discussing the class schedule for his upcoming sophomore year at the Air Force Academy in Colorado.

Hunter was in good spirits. He was taking it easy in his dorm with his roommate as he continued to recover from foot surgery he’d undergone two months earlier, aimed at fixing a torn ligament suffered during football practice at the service academy. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary or unusual.

But the following day as he was heading to class, Hunter experienced a medical emergency and died. He was 21 years old.

“What happened was a total shock,” his mother, Candyce, told Military.com. “He was doing well with his recovery.” (Read more from “‘A Total Shock’: Parents Mourn Sudden Death of Their Air Force Academy Son” HERE)

Trump Unveils Plan to Protect Children From ‘Left-Wing Gender Insanity’

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday rolled out a sweeping proposal to protect children from what he called “left-wing gender insanity” by barring chemical and surgical procedures meant to change the sex of confused minors.

In declaring war on radical gender theory, Trump blasted the Biden administration’s “cruel policies” on so-called gender-affirming care, and vowed to stop federal agencies from promoting such policies. Conservatives broadly oppose chemical and surgical treatments for children suffering from gender dysphoria, and several red states have in recent months outlawed such procedures on minors

“Left-wing gender insanity being pushed on our children is an act of child abuse,” said Trump, who launched his third bid for the nation’s highest office last November and is so far the only major Republican to have declared his candidacy for 2024. “Very simple.”

The announcement comes as radical gender ideology has become a hot-button issue, with The Daily Wire at the forefront of the conversation. Much of the debate revolves around the distinction between biological sex and the social and cultural differences between the sexes — masculinity and femininity — with some on the Left insisting that gender is not tied to biological sex.

Trump pledged that if elected president again, his administration would revoke Biden’s policies, which include giving kids puberty blockers, altering their physical appearance, and in some cases performing surgery such as double mastectomies on young girls. Pfizer Virus Mutations Are Only Half the Story From Project Veritas’s Latest Scoop (VIDEO)

On January 25, Project Veritas released what has already become by far its most-watched video ever: An undercover conversation with Dr. Jordon Trishton Walker.

Dr. Walker’s claim that Pfizer has considered intentionally mutating Covid-19 in a lab, the same type of risky behavior that preceded a likely leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, is a major bombshell, of course.

But there’s another story here, worthy of at least a little discussion. It’s not as shocking, but certainly very revealing about the nature of modern America: Who the heck is Jordon Walker and how did this blabbermouth idiot get a sweet job at Pfizer?

According to Project Veritas, and supported by screenshots found online, Walker works for Pfizer as Director of Research and Development Strategic Operations and mRNA Scientific Planning. Critics of the Veritas scoop have zeroed in on the idea that Walker could not possibly hold a senior role with Pfizer, citing his relatively recent graduation and unremarkable research history. . .

So, we have a twenty-something man, a graduate of Yale and a moderately-ranked medical school, who went into (and then left) a Harvard-linked residency, then briefly passed through an ultra-elite consulting company to land a nice (but not that nice) job at Pfizer where he immediately spilled disastrously harmful information about his employer to an undercover reporter. Jordon Walker, whatever else might be said about him, seems oddly unimpressive for his pileup of credentials. Ron DeSantis Notes Landslide Re-Election Clout in Response to Trump Jabs

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had a simple response Tuesday to weekend attacks by former President Donald Trump: Check the electoral scoreboard.

After Trump accused the governor of disloyalty and mismanaging COVID, DeSantis argued that his gubernatorial blowout of Democrat Charlie Crist served as an inarguable endorsement of his Sunshine State reign.

“When you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions,” he said after being asked about Trump’s barbs at an unrelated press conference. “And the good thing is, the people are able to render a judgment on that, whether they re-elect you or not.” . . .

Meanwhile, DeSantis announced Tuesday that he will seek to nix all funding for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) “bureaucracies” at state colleges and universities.

He argued that higher education has been commandeered by leftist ideologues whose primary goal is to squelch dissenting viewpoints in favor of their own. (Read more from “Ron DeSantis Notes Landslide Re-Election Clout in Response to Trump Jabs” HERE)

Kyiv Says Forces Outnumbered, Battling ‘Intensifying’ Russian Attacks

A Ukrainian deputy defense minister said on January 25 that Russian forces are “intensifying” their attacks near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine and warned that Moscow had a “superior number of soldiers and weapons” in what has become a hot spot in the 11-month-old invasion.

Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar wrote on Telegram that “the enemy is intensifying pressure in the Bakhmut and Vuhledar sectors” in a broader region that Ukrainians frequently refer to as the Donbas

“The enemy is throwing a significant number of personnel, weapons, and military equipment into the battle, trying to break through our defenses, [and] is suffering significant losses but is not giving up its plans,” Maylar said. “The intensity of the fighting is increasing.”

Russian-backed separatists have controlled large swaths of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions that compose the Donbas since 2014, when Russian troops also invaded Crimea ahead of its annexation. (Read more from “Kyiv Says Forces Outnumbered, Battling ‘Intensifying’ Russian Attacks” HERE)

Bill Gates Gets Nervous When Reporter Confronts Him About Relationship With Jeffrey Epstein

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates became visibly uncomfortable when a reporter confronted him about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

ABC Australia reporter Sarah Ferguson asked Gates in an interview that aired Monday whether he feels “regret” for having “maintained” a relationship with Epstein “despite Melinda’s advice and wishes,” referring to his ex-wife Melinda French Gates.

Gates, clearly uncomfortable and annoyed with the question, admitted that he does.

“I said that I’m— this is going way back in time, but yeah I will say for the over 100th time, yeah I shouldn’t have had dinners with him,” Gates said.

Despite his reticence, Ferguson pushed the issue farther. Noting that “Epstein had a way of sexually compromising people,” she asked whether Melinda had warned Gates about putting himself in such a position.

Senator Decries Thousands of Federal Workers Who Fraudulently Received COVID Unemployment Checks

Thousands of federal workers applied for and received COVID-19-related unemployment benefits and continued getting their regular paychecks during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), who’s calling for a federal investigation to identify the offenders and recover the tax dollars improperly paid to them.

“Staff from numerous government agencies, including the IRS, TSA [Transportation Security Administration], FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Agency], the U.S. Postal Service, Amtrak, and the Secret Service, have been detected receiving jobless benefits while also being on the federal government’s payroll,” Ernst said in a Jan. 30 statement.

“Some were even paid overtime at the same time [they were] claiming to have lost wages due to the pandemic. Others were so blatant, they actually applied for jobless benefits from their work computers.

“In addition to fleecing taxpayers, these unscrupulous bureaucrats have also tarnished the reputation of the other dedicated civil servants, many of whom worked long hours in essential jobs during the pandemic.”

More than $5 trillion in federally funded COVID-related benefits—including $716 billion in state-administered unemployment compensation—were authorized in response to the pandemic, which began in January 2020. More than 1 million Americans have died as a result of COVID-19. (Rad more from “Senator Decries Thousands of Federal Workers Who Fraudulently Received COVID Unemployment Checks” HERE)

Trump Sues Bob Woodward for Releasing Audio of Their Interviews Without Permission

Former President Donald Trump has made good on his threat to sue Bob Woodward over the Washington Post journalist’s latest book, accusing him of releasing audio recordings of their interviews without his consent and seeking nearly $50 million in damages.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the Northern District of Florida, also names publisher Simon & Schuster and its parent company, Paramount Global, as defendants. It accuses Woodward of the “systematic usurpation, manipulation, and exploitation of audio” in violation of Trump’s contractual rights and copyright interests.

At issue is the audiobook The Trump Tapes: Bob Woodward’s Twenty Interviews with President Donald Trump, which was published in October 2022 and consists of recordings of more than a dozen interviews the two had done during Trump’s final year in office. . .

Trump alleges that when Rage failed to reach the same level of commercial success as Fear, Woodward’s 2018 book focused on the Trump White House, the journalist and publisher “conspired to, and did, collate and cobble together more than eight hours of ‘raw’ interviews” and released them in audiobook format “without President Trump’s permission.” (Read more from “Trump Sues Bob Woodward for Releasing Audio of Their Interviews Without Permission” HERE)

Legal Filing Exposes FBI Involvement in January 6th

It’s a story as old as time. Something bad happens and completely unexpectedly, it turns out the FBI was involved. Sure enough, despite years of the left dismissing the possibility as a conspiracy theory, a new legal filing serves as an admittance that the FBI was very much involved in the events of January 6th.

Ironically, we are finding that out because the government is once again trying to cover up exactly what happened. Regarding the case of Proud Boy Ethan Nordean, federal prosecutors are asking a judge to limit defense questions on the matter.

So they want to use information from these informants to help throw a person in jail, but they don’t want to allow the defense to question said informants or how they got their information. How very on-brand for the federal government.

Regardless, the revelation here is that FBI informants were embedded with the Proud Boys both online and in person on the day of the march to the Capitol building on January 6th. That’s important for several reasons, and none of them are good.

How involved were these informants in the lead-up to January 6th? Were they egging things on as in the Gretch Whitmer kidnapping farce? Did they encourage people to enter the Capitol? As informants participating in planning discussions, they wouldn’t have just been silent so as to not raise suspicions. So in what capacity were they involved? Instead of trying to get a judge to shut that conversation down, it should be happening out in the open. (Read more from “Legal Filing Exposes FBI Involvement in January 6th” HERE)

Will the IRS Lose Its $80 Billion Appropriation?

In what is certainly the shortest bill regarding federal revenue that I’ve ever seen come out of the House of Representatives, the House voted to rescind much of the $80 billion funding granted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The bill, H.R. 9092, known as the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act (Taxpayer Protection Act), consists of just one sentence that provides that certain elements of the funding granted to the IRS by the Inflation Reduction Act “are rescinded.”

Please note that the Taxpayer Protection Act does not seek to rescind the entire $80 billion appropriation. The elements to be cut include $45.6 billion specifically intended for tax-law enforcement and $25.3 billion for the support of law-enforcement activities.

The Taxpayer Protection Act would leave in place the funding targeted at taxpayer services, including pre-filing assistance and education, filing and account services, taxpayer-advocacy services, and other related services. The level of funding pointed at those programs — $3.18 billion of the $80 billion was earmarked for taxpayer services and education — betrays the thinking of much of Washington’s elite. Barely 4 percent of the windfall the IRS is to receive will directly help taxpayers comply with the law, compared with 96 percent that is intended to be used for, one way or another, enforcement.

This is why I opposed the funding bill in the first place. I have argued for decades that the vast majority of the problems people have with IRS compliance are not driven by tax cheating; they are the results of ignorance that is itself the result of our having a tax code that consists of more than 4 million words that have been changed more than 6,000 times just since 2001.

This is also why I challenged the current nominee for IRS commissioner, Danny Werfel, to rebuild the IRS’s pre-filing education programs, along with its outreach functions to citizens and private-sector tax professionals. Of all the government agencies in the United States, only the IRS touches every citizen, regardless of his age or his social, economic, or cultural background. This is why outreach and education must be a major priority for the agency, and not just an afterthought.

The question now on everybody’s mind is: What’s next for the IRS in light of the Taxpayer Protection Act’s funding cut? Given the circumstances in Washington, I believe the act is merely symbolic. While it passed the Republican-controlled House, it will not pass the Senate, and thus, it will never find its way to the White House to be signed by President Biden.

The IRS will still get its money, and my challenge to the new commissioner remains the same: Will you meaningfully work to assist taxpayers in complying with a law that is “so voluminous that it cannot be read, and so incoherent that it cannot be understood,” or will you simply turn up the heat on those hapless taxpayers who find themselves unable to comply?
