Man Who Set Himself On Fire Near White House Dies; Identity Revealed

In a horrifying moment caught on video, a man set himself on fire near the White House on Wednesday, walking around fully engulfed in flames for several seconds before Secret Service and police arrived to extinguish the flames and attempt to save his life. The man died from the wounds Wednesday evening, authorities say. More details about the man, who has since been identified, have emerged.

The man, who U.S. Park Police identified early Thursday as Arnav Gupta, 33, of Bethesda, Maryland, died of his wounds Wednesday evening, Washington D.C.’s WTOP reported Thursday. Gupta had been reported missing earlier Wednesday, family members citing concerns about his “physical and emotional welfare.”

On Wednesday, the Montgomery County Police Department issued the following press release announcing “Concern for Missing Bethesda Area Man”:

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Bethesda area man. . .

Gupta is described as an Indian male who is 5’ 9” tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, a mustache, and wears glasses.

No Punishment for College Professor Who Called for Murder of Cops

By California Globe. A State Assembly resolution would urge University of California directors to remove a professor who made horrific remarks on social media about killing cops. However, last week Democrats refused to even hear the resolution.

Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) authored H.R 22, which urges the University of California to remove English Professor Joshua Clover from the classroom and terminate his employment at the University of California, Davis. . .

“Can’t we at least agree there is no place for this on our taxpayer funded campus and condemn these hateful statements?” Gallagher asked on Facebook, after his colleague Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez posted a video about his H.R 22 being killed by Democrats. “The Democrats killed that Resolution,” Melendez said. “They won’t even allow it to be heard; they won’t even allow it to be discussed.”

“This is someone in our state schools, paid for with tax dollars…” Melendez said. The resolution simply called for his comments to be condemned by university officials. “Sadly, the Democrats decided no action needed to be taken, and not even to be discussed.”

Assemblyman Gallagher also delivered more than 10,000 petitions to the UC Davis administration from people across the state requesting that Clover be fired. (Read more from “No Punishment for College Professor Who Called for Murder of Cops” HERE)

California Professor Says Cops Need to Be Killed

By Fox News. The California Aggie also reported the tweets of UC Davis professor Joshua Clover, who is also a poet:

“I am thankful that every living cop will one day be dead, some by their own hand, some by others, too many of old age #letsnotmakemore” — tweeted on Nov. 27, 2014.

“I mean, it’s easier to shoot cops when their backs are turned, no?” — tweeted on Dec. 27, 2014.

“People think that cops need to be reformed. They need to be killed.” — published in an interview on Jan. 31, 2016. (Read more from “California Professor Says Cops Need to Be Killed” HERE)

2020 Dem Candidate’s Distant Family Makes Accusation: He’s Lying for Political Gain

By Washington Examiner. Pete Buttigieg’s brother-in-law is accusing the gay Democratic presidential hopeful of hijacking his family’s history for political advantage by crafting a bogus backstory of poverty, homelessness, and homophobia.

Rhyan Glezman, 34, a pastor in small-town Michigan, said he was inundated by death threats and hate mail when stories surfaced this month claiming he was a bigot who had fallen out with his younger brother Chasten when Chasten came out of the closet.

The reports were based on a Washington Post article, which described how Chasten, 29, was forced out of the family home and never reconciled with his two brothers. . .

A mayor from a small city and his husband, a child who grew up with nothing and his parents kicked him out … it makes a perfect political story for the campaign,” he said in an interview with the Washington Examiner at his church in Clio. “To me that’s very sad. If that’s all you have to stand on, you’re not fit to be president of the United States.”

The gray church building stands on the outskirts of Clio, a town of about 2,600 people, along a road of sporting goods stores and nondescript restaurant chains. Inside, worshipers are greeted by a verse from Romans: “The pain that you’ve been feeling can’t compare with the joy that’s coming.” Evangelical services are held in a traditional prayer space or, for more enthusiastic participants, in the gym. Brother of Buttigieg’s Husband: ‘I Just Don’t Support the Gay Lifestyle’

By Washington Examiner. The brother of Pete Buttigieg’s husband said he does not support their marriage.

Rhyan Glezman, a pastor of a Christian church in Michigan, told the Washington Post he was not surprised when his brother Chasten came out.

“I want the best for him,” Glezman said. “I just don’t support the gay lifestyle.” . . .

Chasten Buttigieg, 29, came out the summer after high school graduation. He said he told his family last about his sexuality. . .

After his family’s response, Buttigieg packed his bags and left home. He slept on friends’ couches and sometimes slept in his car in the parking lot of the community college he attended. (Read more from “Brother of Buttigieg’s Husband: ‘I Just Don’t Support the Gay Lifestyle'” HERE)

Planned Parenthood Spreads Their Biggest Lie of All

By WND. The repeated claim by the president of Planned Parenthood that “thousands” of women died before the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling because they lacked access to safe abortion is a “big lie” that was spread by activists a half century ago, according to a co-founder of the leading pro-abortion group NARAL.

In a 1990 interview with WND Vice President David Kupelian, Bernard Nathanson, M.D., who once was head of the nation’s largest abortion clinic, observed that “repeating the big lie often enough convinces the public.”

He said that he and other abortion activists prior to the Roe decision “constantly fed to the media” the figure of 10,000 women dying annually from illegal abortions. The actual figure, he said, was about 200 to 250 annually. . .

Last week, nevertheless, in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Planned Parenthood President Leana Wen said: “We’re not going to go back in time to a time before Roe when thousands of women died every year because they didn’t have access to essential health care.”

In his Washington Post fact-check column, Glenn Kessler rated Wen’s claim with “Four Pinocchios,” writing that “there is no evidence that in the years immediately preceding the Supreme Court’s decision, thousands of women died every year in the United States from illegal abortions.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Spreads Their Biggest Lie of All” HERE)

Washington Post Gives ‘4 Pinocchios’ to Planned Parenthood President for False Abortion Claim

By Fox News. The president of Planned Parenthood has repeatedly spread a false claim about “thousands” of women who died due to a lack of safe abortion access before the Roe v. Wade decision, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.

“We’re not going to go back in time to a time before Roe when thousands of women died every year because they didn’t have access to essential health care,” said Dr. Leana Wen on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last week. . .

In a fact-check piece, Glenn Kessler rated the claim with “Four Pinocchios,” writing that Wen’s statements were “derived from data that is decades old.”

“Even given the fuzzy nature of the data and estimates, there is no evidence that in the years immediately preceding the Supreme Court’s decision, thousands of women died every year in the United States from illegal abortions,” Kessler wrote, adding that abortion advocates “hurt their cause” with such unproven claims.

He added that the information was “debunked in 1969 — 50 years ago — by a statistician celebrated by Planned Parenthood,” and that the claim relies on statistics from before antibiotics were being used, when fatal complications were far more likely. Senator Claims Abortion Activist Threatened to ‘Rape’ His Wife over Alabama Abortion Ban

By Life Site News. The family Republican state senator who vocally supported Alabama’s new law banning almost all abortions says his family has had to endure online threats of violence from pro-abortion advocates outraged by the law, including threats that they were going to break into his house and rape his wife.

Earlier this month, Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act, which criminalizes abortion for any reason other than to “avert (a mother’s) death or to avert serious risk of substantial physical impairment of a major bodily function,” or “if a second physician who is licensed in Alabama as a psychiatrist” diagnoses a “serious mental illness” with a “reasonable medical judgment that she will engage in conduct that could result in her death or the death of her unborn child.” . . .

Over the weekend, Gudger appeared on Alabama Public Television to discuss the fallout from the vote, Breitbart reports, revealing in the process the toll it’s taken on his family.

“It’s been tough dealing with the balancing of my wife and my children being attacked,” Gudger told host Don Dailey. “I obviously don’t like that part. No one should be attacked or threatened with harm for a difference of opinion. But overall, I’m doing well, besides that.” He elaborated that “people have contacted my 15-year-old son on Snapchat and social media,” while “my wife had been contacted that they were going to break into our house and rape and do other things to her.” (Read more from “Senator Claims Abortion Activist Threatened to ‘Rape’ His Wife over Abortion Ban” HERE)

Louisiana Lawmakers Approve Strict Abortion Limit, Dem. Governor Says He Will Sign It

By NPR. The Louisiana House approved a strict new abortion law barring the procedure once a heartbeat is detectable, a point before many women may realize they are pregnant.

By a vote of 79-23, the lawmakers banned abortions as early as six weeks of pregnancy. Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards said in a statement that he “ran for governor as a pro-life candidate,” and intended to sign the abortion ban.

“As I prepare to sign this bill, I call on the overwhelming bipartisan majority of legislators who voted for it to join me in continuing to build a better Louisiana that cares for the least among us and provides more opportunity for everyone,” he said.

More than a dozen Democratic lawmakers approved the bill, along with all of the Republicans. (Read more from “Louisiana Lawmakers Approve Strict Abortion Limit, Dem. Governor Says He Will Sign It” HERE)

2020 Candidate DEFENDS Late-Term Abortions, Claims They’re ‘Hypothetical’

The 2020 Democratic presidential candidates thus far have all taken a position supporting abortion without limit. At the federal level, abortion is legal in the United States up to nine months of pregnancy. While some states have enacted prohibitions on abortion — including restricting the procedure after a certain point in pregnancy — other states permit abortions without exception.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg called abortion a “national right” and an “American freedom” during the recent Fox News Presidential Town hall. Host Chris Wallace asked Buttigieg, “[D]o you believe — at any point in pregnancy — whether it’s at six weeks or eight weeks or 24 weeks or whenever — that there should be any limit on a woman’s right to have an abortion?”

Buttigieg responded, “I trust women to draw the line when it’s their own bodies.” He then proceeded to downplay the number of late-term abortions done annually, first calling them “hypothetical,” and then when Wallace corrected him, downplaying and inaccurately representing the percentage of late-term abortions among all abortions in the United States. . .

Buttigieg then suggested that late-term abortions were “hypothetical.” . . .

But according to the most recent data reported to the CDC in 2015, abortions committed at 21 weeks gestation or greater represent approximately 1.3 percent of all reported abortions. This 1.3% statistic is also quoted by Guttmacher, which gathers more comprehensive abortion data. The fact is, abortionists control the abortion data on later abortions and only a small number of states even require abortion data by gestation. And therefore, these numbers are not definitive. Did Anyone Catch This Tweak That Mueller Made About the Russian Collusion Findings?

By Townhall. So, Robert Mueller is gone. Poof…into the wind he goes. After two years, he finally concluded that there was no collusion and reiterated his position on obstruction, though he gave the entire Democratic Party a massive smoke signal to push for impeachment on that front. It’s it new. Meh. Not really. Since 2019 the Democrats have been slowly building up towards impeachment proceedings. Heck, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), his posse, and his politically motivated subpoenas over Trump’s taxes and bank records are all but a massive game of impeachment bingo. The Democrats are throwing up whatever against the wall and sees what sticks, even if it’s nowhere near as explosive as Russian collusion, which has been debunked. Or has it? Mueller used the phrase “insufficient evidence” to describe that aspect of his report today in a presser, where he took no questions. That’s odd. That’s a bit different than what’s in the report on this matter: “the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

Eric Trump Accuses Mueller of Dividing the Country Following Public Statement

By Yahoo. On Lou Dobbs Tonight, Eric Trump accused Robert Mueller of dividing the country following the former special counsel’s first public statement since the partial release of the Mueller Report. In his statement, Mueller said there was insufficient evidence to bring a charge of conspiracy, and on the issue of obstruction, he was very clear that Donald Trump was not exonerated of a crime. But Eric obviously sees things differently as he contradicted Mueller.

“I think the guy’s done a tremendous amount to divide this country,” Eric said. “It wouldn’t take anybody two and a half years to come up with the fact that there’s no collusion, that there’s no obstruction.”

Pelosi Just Came to This Conclusion About Facebook

By Townhall. Liberals were up in arms over a doctored video of Speaker Nancy Pelosi that showed up on Facebook last week. The video was slowed down to make her appear confused and as if her age is finally catching up to her. Democrats brought the video to Facebook’s attention, letting them know the video had been doctored. Facebook came back and said it didn’t violate their terms of service, therefore, the video can stay.

During an interview with KQED-TV, Pelosi made a rather interesting comment about the video, saying Facebook executives are “willing enablers” of Russian’s election meddling back in 2016. The fact that they won’t remove the video of her is evidence of that.

We have said all along, poor Facebook, they were unwittingly exploited by the Russians. I think wittingly, because right now they are putting up something that they know is false. I think it’s wrong. I can take it…But [Facebook is] lying to the public,” Pelosi said. . .

According to the Washington Post, Facebook has “heavily reduced” the video’s appearance in people’s news feeds. The vide now has an info box with various links to fact checks that indicate the video is false. If someone tries to share the video, a popup tells the user there’s “additional reporting” on the video. The social media website does not come out and directly say the video is false. Nancy Pelosi: Doctored Videos Show Facebook ‘Willing Enablers’ of Russians in 2016

By KQED. Trump shared one heavily edited video on Twitter, which was first featured on Fox News, accusing the speaker of “stammering” through a news conference. Pelosi said Facebook knows the videos are false and should take them down. . .

Pelosi added, “I think they have proven — by not taking down something they know is false — that they were willing enablers of the Russian interference in our election.” . . .

Pelosi was speaking to KQED News less than two hours after special counsel Robert Mueller made his first public comments on his two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. She didn’t give much ground on impeachment, but pledged that Democrats will continue to probe President Trump. Incredible: Smallest Recorded Baby, Born at 23 Weeks, Is Now Going Home Healthy

A baby who was born at less than a pound in San Diego, and who was the smallest-recorded surviving infant in the world, has gone home five months after being born as a healthy baby, according to the Associated Press.

Saybie (the name used by the doctors caring for the baby at the hospital) was born at 23 weeks and three days, and weighed in at a mere 8.6 ounces at birth. She was able to go home this month, weighing about five pounds after spending five months in neonatal intensive care.

“After experiencing severe pregnancy complications, Saybie’s mother gave birth via emergency cesarean section at 23 weeks, 3 days gestation in the womb,” a hospital representative said at a press conference. “Doctors said the preterm birth was necessary after they found that the baby was not gaining weight and her mother’s life was at immediate risk.” . . .

Saybie’s inspiring story of survival comes during a time when the abortion debate is as contentious as it has ever been. States such as Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana have passes pro-life laws establishing the right to life for unborn babies and banning abortions at six weeks of pregnancy, or in Alabama’s case, altogether (except to save the life of the mother). Trump Just Torpedoed Roy Moore’s Alabama Senate Campaign Before It Started

(Editor’s note: We think it is pathetic that the Blaze would refer to Judge Moore as a “failed Senate candidate.” The hit on Roy Moore was an orchestrated take-down by the Establishment. Nevertheless, we include this post because it’s newsworthy)

Former judge and failed Senate candidate Roy Moore hasn’t even officially announced his second attempt to run for an Alabama Senate seat, and President Donald Trump has already come out strongly against the idea.

Earlier this week, Moore was the recipient of a scathing rebuke from the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr. Today, POTUS himself sent a clear message to Moore: Don’t run.

“Republicans cannot allow themselves to again lose the Senate seat in the Great State of Alabama,” Pres. Trump tweeted. “This time it will be for Six Years, not just Two. I have NOTHING against Roy Moore, and unlike many other Republican leaders, wanted him to win. But he didn’t, and probably won’t.” . . .

The president brings up some valid points in his tweets. Moore, burdened by a scandal related to relationships with underage girls, lost a special election that should’ve been a sure thing for Republicans. And while the GOP was able to extend its control over the Senate in 2018, not regaining the Alabama seat in 2020 would be a blow to the party in a severely pro-Trump state.
