Joe Arpaio Announces Run for Seventh Term

Joe Arpaio announced Sunday that he will seek a seventh term as the sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, promising to reopen his infamous tent city jail and bring back controversial jail policies that drew the ire of civil rights advocates and made him a darling of tough-on-crime conservatives.

Arpaio, who called himself “America’s toughest sheriff” during his 24-year run, said he’ll challenge incumbent Paul Penzone in the 2020 sheriff’s race. Penzone, a Democrat, unseated Arpaio in 2016 for the job.

“On this day, August 25, 2019, after consultation and approval from my wife of 61 years, Ava, I have decided to run to be re-elected Sheriff,” Arpaio said in a news release. “Watch out world! We are back!” . . .

He opened up an outdoor jail, known as “Tent City” in the desert where temperatures often reached triple digits, and made inmates wear pink garments and jumpsuits, earning him national headlines.

In addition to promising to reopen the tent jail, he said he would “reinstitute the Posse to its former strength” and “continue to enforce all Arizona laws that deal with drug trafficking, sex trafficking and other crimes associated with the border and illegal immigration.” (Read more from “Joe Arpaio Announces Run for Seventh Term” HERE)

Shocking Report: ‘Persecution of Christians Worldwide Close to Genocide’

According to a shocking new report, Christians are “by far the most widely persecuted” members of a religion in the world. It also warns that this persecution is now nearing “genocide” levels.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) shared the report compiled by the Bishop of Truro the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen. It states that violence and oppression against Christians is worsening as time goes by.

“Evidence shows not only the geographic spread of anti-Christian persecution, but also its increasing severity,” the report states. “In some regions, the level and nature of persecution is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide, according to that adopted by the UN.”

The evidence shows that Christianity is “by far the most widely persecuted religion.” This is extremely noteworthy because as many as one-third of the world’s population are suffering persecution because of their religious beliefs. Of those, an estimated 80 percent are Christians. (Read more from “Shocking Report: ‘Persecution of Christians Worldwide Close to Genocide'” HERE)

Newsweek: Cannibalism Is Taboo ‘for Now’

Don’t let the title of Newsweek’s article fool you. While reading, don’t be distracted by the disgust seemingly directed towards cannibalism. You see, Newsweek’s article titled “Cannibalism is Common in the Animal Kingdom – Here’s Why for Humans Its the Ultimate Taboo” gives itself away in the closing paragraph after dropping hints along the way. For the writers of the article, cannibalism is a taboo “for now” that, like other taboos, will one day be revisited, reevaluated, and undone.

After explaining how cannibalism can be found throughout the animal kingdom, including chimps eating baby chimps, writers Jared Piazza and Neil McLatchie drop in the claim that “For humans, though, cannibalism is the ultimate taboo. In fact, our aversion to cannibalism is so strong that consent and ethics count for little.” . . .

The second sentence in that quote is the first hint of the overall subtext of this article. You see, even if someone isn’t averse to cannibalism, ethics stamp a big fat NOPE on the activity. However, the subtle pointing to the belief that our feelings override ethics reveals that the writers aren’t convinced that ethics prohibit cannibalism, to begin with. It’s a just a socially constructed taboo, after all. Like the belief that a man can’t be a woman and vice versa.

Lest you think I’m layering an unfair subtext into the writers’ intent with their article, read it for yourself. Throughout the article, the prohibition against cannibalism is always couched within the parameters of post-modernism and social constructs. Nowhere does the article state that we shouldn’t eat other humans because it’s dehumanizing and morally wrong in all times and all places. They can’t claim that because the leftist agenda is hell-bent on dehumanizing us and undermining humanity’s ability to flourish (in case it’s unclear, I used the word “hell” on purpose). Claiming that something is objectively wrong contradicts the left’s teachings on morality. . .

In their closing paragraph, Piazza and McLatchie write, “For now, we’re as happy as you are to continue accepting the ‘wisdom of repugnance’: human flesh, despite its biochemical similarities to that of other mammals, shall remain firmly off limits.” (Read more from “Newsweek: Cannibalism Is Taboo ‘for Now'” HERE)

WATCH: Video Shows Iranian Forces Prepping ‘Killer Drone’ Launch Targeting Israel

The IDF spokesperson’s unit on Sunday released a video of Iranian forces in Syria preparing to launch an explosives-laden drone into northern Israel from Syria last Thursday.

The video, captured by an Israeli field intelligence unit along the border, shows four fighters from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds force carrying the UAV through a field to its planned launch point located in the southern Syrian village of Arneh.

On Saturday around 11pm, Israel Air Force jets struck Iranian targets in the Syrian town of Aqraba, south of Damascus, thwarting the “imminent” UAV attack, the army said. According to war monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, five personnel were killed in the strikes, two of whom were operatives for the Iranian proxy terror group Hezbollah and one a member of an Iranian militia. The other two have not been identified. . .

In his own statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Iran has no immunity anywhere. Our forces operate in every sector against the Iranian aggression. I have directed that our forces be prepared for any scenario. We will continue to take determined and responsible action against Iran and its proxies for the security of Israel.”

The Syrian army said that “the majority of the Israeli missiles were destroyed before reaching their targets,” but Conricus maintained that the damage caused by the Israeli strikes was “significant,” Reuters reported. NYT’s Crazy Claim: Anchor Baby Policy ‘Enshrined in Constitution’

A New York Times (NYT) editor says the country’s policy of birthright citizenship — even for a U.S.-born child of illegal aliens, often referred to as an “anchor baby” — has been “enshrined in the Constitution for more than 150 years” and cannot be ended.

Last week, Trump told the media is he is “very seriously” looking at signing an executive order that will end birthright citizenship in the U.S., calling the policy “frankly ridiculous.” White House senior adviser Stephen Miller confirmed on Sunday that Trump is reviewing “all legal options” to end the “crazy” birthright citizenship policy.

To date, the U.S. Supreme Court has never explicitly ruled that the children of illegal aliens must be granted birthright citizenship, and many legal scholars dispute the idea. Despite this, New York Times editor Patrick Lyons writes that birthright citizenship cannot be ended because it is “enshrined in the Constitution.” . . .

Much like the Times, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) — a 2020 Democrat presidential candidate — has similarly claimed that birthright citizenship is “enshrined” in the U.S. Constitution, as Breitbart News reported.

Ending birthright citizenship would carry the U.S. into the future on the issue, putting the nation more in line with similar Western countries. In the developed world, only Canada has a birthright citizenship policy as other nations have ended the policy or never had such a policy. There are at least 4.5 million anchor babies in the U.S. and nearly 300,000 anchor babies are born every year. Poll: 70 Percent of U.S. Angry at Political Establishment

The overwhelming majority of Americans said that they remain angry at the political establishment, according to a poll released Sunday.

Seventy percent of Americans said they feel mad “because our political system seems to only be working for the insiders with money and power, like those on Wall Street or in Washington.” . . .

Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who conducted the poll with GOP firm Public Opinion Strategies, said, “Four years ago, we uncovered a deep and boiling anger across the country engulfing our political system. Four years later, with a very different political leader in place, that anger remains at the same level.” . . .

Four years ago, 39 percent of Republicans and 44 percent of Democrats reported they were very frustrated with the political establishment. Now, 29 percent of Republicans and 54 percent of Democrats remain very frustrated with the entrenched political establishment.

“The question that decides the 2020 election may no longer be ‘are you better or worse off than you were four years ago?’ but instead ‘are you as angry as you were four years ago?’” said Horwitt. “And if that’s the question, the answer is a deafening yes.” (Read more from “Poll: 70 Percent of U.S. Angry at Political Establishment” HERE)

NASA Astronaut Accused of Committing the First Ever Crime in Space

Anne McClain is a decorated NASA astronaut who has spent more than 200 days in space. Now, she stands accused of committing the first ever crime in space.

McClain’s estranged spouse, former Air Force intelligence officer Summer Worden, has filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and NASA’s Office of Inspector General accusing McClain of identity theft and improperly accessing her private financial information, the New York Times reported. . .

Worden told the Times she learned McClain accessed her accounts because McClain had intimate knowledge of her spending. To confirm her suspicions, Worden had her bank locate computers that had accessed her account; one such access point came from a computer registered with NASA. . .

Instead, McClain claims she was doing what she has always done: checking her family’s finances to ensure there were sufficient funds in the account to pay bills and care for the son that McClain and Worden have raised together.

McClain and Hardin are in the midst of a heated custody battle over their 6-year-old son, who was conceived via in vitro fertilization and carried by a surrogate. Their divorce is set to be finalized in October, NBC News reported. (Read more from “Decorated NASA Astronaut Accused of Committing the First Ever Crime in Space” HERE)

President Trump Hints at ‘Major Middle Income Tax Cut’ With One Condition

President Donald Trump hinted Saturday that additional tax cuts are in the future for tens of millions of Americans.

However, the president said the “major middle income tax cut” would only become reality if Republicans retain control of the Senate and retake control of the House in 2020.

“If Republicans take back the House, and keep the Senate and Presidency, one of our first acts will be to approve a major middle income Tax Cut!” Trump said. “Democrats only want to raise your taxes!”

. . .

Larry Kudlow, the top White House economic adviser, said this week that Trump could propose new tax cuts before the 2020 presidential election that would additional economic relief for individuals and small businesses.

“The personal tax rates could easily be lowered, and probably the brackets could be shrunk. That’s a thought,” Kudlow said. “We might even kind of work through a way to help our friends in some of the states who are concerned about the shrinkage of the tax deductions there … the SALT taxes.” (Read more from “President Trump Hints at ‘Major Middle Income Tax Cut’ With One Condition” HERE)

Trump Announces Massive Japanese Trade Deal Potentially Worth ‘Billions’

United States President Donald J. Trump alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced on Sunday the framework for a massive trade deal between the two countries. While nothing has been signed yet, the potential agreement could bolster both economies by billions.

“We’ve been working on a deal with Japan for a long time. And we’ve agreed in principle,” President Trump told the press at the G7 Summit.

“We successfully reached consensus with regard to the core elements related to agricultural and industrial trade,” Abe told the media via a translator. “We still have some remaining work that has to be done at the working level.” . . .

“With regard to the potential purchase of American corn, in Japan, we are now experiencing insect pests on some agricultural products,” Abe added. “And there is a need for us to buy some of the agricultural products.”

Trump Tariffs Tank Asian Equities, Chinese Yuan. China Ready to Negotiate.

By Daily Wire. President Donald Trump’s latest trade war escalation against China appears to have had an immediate effect on Asian markets and the Chinese Yuan, sending both tumbling early on Monday morning.

“China’s yuan currency fell to 7.1487 to the dollar, its weakest level since early 2008 at the height of the global financial crisis,” AFP reported. “On equity markets, Hong Kong led losses, slumping more than three percent, with investors also spooked by fresh violent protests in the city that saw police use water cannon for the first time. Shanghai lost 1.3 percent and Tokyo ended the morning more than two percent off.”

Chinese Vice Premier Liu He indicated early on Monday that the communist nation was willing to negotiate with the U.S. to prevent the trade war from escalating. (Read more from “Trump Tariffs Tank Asian Equities, Chinese Yuan. China Ready to Negotiate.” HERE)
