Majority of U.S. Adults Say Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle Ad Is Just Fine, Despite Woke Backlash

Despite a wave of outrage from certain corners of the internet, a recent poll shows that the majority of U.S. adults view American Eagle’s ad featuring actress Sydney Sweeney as perfectly acceptable.

The ad, which features the Euphoria and White Lotus star alongside the tongue-in-cheek slogan “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” drew criticism from progressive commentators online who claimed it carried offensive connotations — with some going so far as to allege connections to white supremacy and eugenics. But most Americans aren’t buying it.

According to a YouGov poll conducted on August 1, 2025, which surveyed 3,509 U.S. adults:

52% said they found the ad’s wordplay appropriate

16% considered it inappropriate

32% were unsure

The data indicates a clear divide based on political affiliation. While 64% of Republicans viewed the ad as appropriate, support was more modest among Democrats (46%) and independents (49%).

The survey was conducted online and designed to reflect a representative national sample across gender, age, race, region, and political leaning.

The White House even weighed in. When asked about Sweeney’s rumored Republican registration while returning from New Jersey, President Donald Trump quipped, “If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”

American Eagle, meanwhile, has likely welcomed the controversy: their stock value has reportedly risen following the ad campaign’s release. Sweeney herself has not commented publicly on the backlash.

Grief Can Kill: New Study Shows Bereaved Face 88% Higher Risk of Death

Grieving the loss of a loved one is one of life’s most painful experiences — but it may also be one of the most dangerous. A new study published in Frontiers in Public Health has confirmed what many have long suspected: intense, long-lasting grief significantly raises the risk of death.

Researchers in Denmark followed over 1,700 adults for a decade, tracking how the death of a close family member impacted their physical and mental health. Participants were primarily older adults who had recently experienced the terminal illness of a spouse or parent. Over the course of the study, the researchers identified distinct grief patterns and health outcomes among the participants.

The most alarming finding? Individuals who showed persistent, severe grief were nearly twice as likely to die within 10 years compared to those whose grief symptoms remained low. Specifically, the group experiencing high grief levels had an 88% greater risk of mortality.

The same group also showed a dramatic increase in the use of mental health services and medications. They were more than four times as likely to be prescribed antidepressants, and over 160% more likely to receive anxiety medication. Mental and emotional anguish translated into physical vulnerability — a powerful reminder of how intertwined mind and body truly are.

Experts say grief can cause a cascade of physiological changes. Stress hormones spike, the immune system weakens, and the heart and brain become more susceptible to disease. These effects may explain the emergence of conditions like heart attacks, strokes, and even “broken heart syndrome” following bereavement.

One of the lead authors of the study noted that participants in the high-risk group often had lower levels of education and were more likely to have used mental health medications prior to their loss. This suggests that preexisting emotional challenges may compound the dangers of grief, pushing already vulnerable individuals closer to the edge.

Previous studies have hinted at similar connections — including a 2014 study that found elderly widows and widowers faced a 25% higher mortality rate in the year following their spouse’s death. But this new research offers more specific insight into the long-term risks for those unable to process or recover from their loss.

The findings serve as a wake-up call. Grief isn’t just emotional; it’s a major health risk. As the population ages and more families face end-of-life experiences, support systems for the grieving — including therapy, counseling, and community care — may be more critical than ever.

Elderly Man Arrested After Poisoning Children at Christian Summer Camp

A peaceful Christian summer camp in rural England turned into the scene of a full-scale emergency this week after eight children were hospitalized in what police are calling a suspected poisoning event.

Authorities in Leicestershire responded to a serious medical emergency at a countryside retreat near the village of Plungar, where multiple children attending a faith-based youth camp suddenly became ill under suspicious circumstances. What began as a wellness check quickly escalated into a “critical incident,” with ambulances and even an air ambulance helicopter rushing to the scene.

According to law enforcement, a 76-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of deliberately administering a harmful substance with intent to cause harm or distress. He is currently being held for questioning by detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit’s major crime division.

Emergency crews were dispatched to Stathern Lodge after a third-party report was filed on Sunday, July 27. However, responders didn’t arrive until the following day, prompting serious scrutiny over the delay.

Ten ambulances and a helicopter were eventually dispatched, and eight children were transported to hospital for evaluation and treatment. Fortunately, all have since been released and are recovering.

Local authorities transformed the village hall into a triage center to assess potential victims and provide emergency care. Police have since self-referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to concerns about the response delay.

Assistant Chief Constable James Avery said the matter is now being treated with the highest level of seriousness.

“We’ve spoken directly with the families of the children who were hospitalized. A full investigation is now underway to determine what happened and whether criminal intent was involved,” Avery said.

He emphasized the complexity and sensitivity of the situation, noting that detectives will be working closely with forensics and public health officials to uncover exactly what substance was involved, and how it came into contact with the children.

While police have not publicly identified the suspect or released his motive, officials confirmed that the man is being investigated for possible violations of laws relating to intentional poisoning or administering noxious substances — a serious offense under U.K. law.

The retreat center has suspended all programming, and church officials have pledged full cooperation with law enforcement.

Fashion Model Learning to Be a Man after Being Pushed to Transition at Age 15: ‘I Was Really Crazy on the Hormones’

In Catholic churches across Manhattan and Brooklyn, Salomé captivated the congregation, uplifting the faithful with her soulful singing and skilled organ playing. The New York Archdiocese Organist Training Program enrollee’s musical gifts had her booking gigs across the city.

But for years, Salomé’s bashful smile and angelic voice concealed a secret — one not even known in the shadows of the confessional. She was a he; Salomé was born Miles.

His story is one that’s becoming all too familiar: A child with unconventional interests, swayed by strange ideologies on the Internet, is hustled by doctors into a life of medical dependency — only to find himself questioning everything years later.

“They very quickly put me on hormones without really any discernment. Looking back, if I were a doctor, I would think this is a much larger decision than the kid thinks that it is,” he tells The Post. . .

At 15, Yardley found himself a patient in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s gender clinic. He’d been late to start puberty and had interests in singing and dancing. Classmates began to ask if he was gay or a girl. He’d never heard of transgenderism. “I had not questioned my own identity before other people started asking me questions and putting that on me,” he says.

After only his second appointment, a Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia doctor put Yardley on androgen blockers and later estrogen therapy, calling him “the perfect example” of a transgender child. Horror Story Emerges from Surrogate Who Confirms Gay Couple Demanded a Dead Baby

A horror story worthy of Edgar Allen Poe or Stephen King has been documented by Lila Rose, the noted pro-life activist who runs Live Action, among other endeavors.

It involves two homosexual men who contracted with a surrogate for a baby, but when she needed to deliver early because of a cancer diagnosis, they insisted that their “property” die.

A report at Not The Bee explained the sequence of events triggered by a gay duo who “boldly nominated themselves for the Most Hideously Evil Monsters of the Year Award.”

It documented how the homosexuals could not force the surrogate to abort, but once the baby was born, it became their “property.” They simply allowed no life-saving efforts at all, and the baby died. Mamdani Wants to Leave Battered Women Without Police Protection

While leftists claim they care for women and other historically marginalized groups, their policies show otherwise. Latest case: socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani saying domestic violence victims don’t deserve police response.

As reported by Jon Levine at The Washington Free Beacon, Mamdani said during a 2020 podcast that armed police were not the correct response to domestic violence calls. The New York Police Department reportedly responded to these types of calls more than 100,000 times in 2024.

As a domestic abuse survivor (and nearly 10-year resident of New York City who fled in 2020), for me, this is a horrific, chilling sentiment from a supposed public servant.

It’s also a slap in the face to women, who are by far the most common victims of domestic violence, rather than tall, young men like Mamdani, who at 33 years old towers above women in his social media posts.

“There’s a lot of humans who are victims in the city of New York, and they need protection because sometimes it’s a matter of life and death. They’re hiding in the bathroom with their children, and they need someone to come immediately,” Michelle Esquenazi, founder of the New York-based Victims Rights Reform Council, told Fox News Digital. . .

In another classic case of rich celebrities wanting private security, but not public security for impoverished victims, Levine also reported that Mamdani has spent over $33,000 on private security during his campaign. 1-Year-Old Girl Mauled to Death by Family’s Pit Bull, Police Say

An Ohio couple is grieving the “unimaginable tragedy” of the death of their 1-year-old daughter after their pit bull unexpectedly attacked her, according to police.

Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis L. Campbell said that deputies were called out on a report of a dog attack at a home on Lake Road in Dover Township on July 2 at about 6 p.m.

Campbell said an emergency dispatcher received an initial call where nothing could be heard and then received a second call moments later from the mother, who said her child had been killed.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they found the child with bites to her face and neck. She was declared dead at the scene.

The mother told officers that she was picking up clothing in a laundry basket with her daughter next to her when the dog suddenly attacked. Deputies said they observed defensive wounds on the woman, who tried to save her daughter.

“It was about as terrible of [an] ordeal as we’ve come across in a long time,” Campbell said.

Abortionist Charged With Murder for ‘Callously’ Leaving Born-Alive Infant To Die

A doctor in Seoul, South Korea, has been arrested and charged with murder after a baby was allegedly born alive and left to die following a botched late abortion.

According to the Korea Times, both the abortionist, Shim, and the facility owner, Yoon, have been arrested and charged after leaving the baby to die after it was born alive following an abortion. An investigation into the incident found that the baby was alive both “before and after” the abortion procedure. The mother was reportedly 36 weeks pregnant, which means the child would have been fully developed and likely able to survive had he received proper treatment and care.

Investigators also learned that “hundreds” of other abortions had taken place at the facility.

Abortion in South Korea remains a legal gray area; though the Constitutional Court ruled in 2019 that the country’s abortion prohibition was unconstitutional, since that time there have been no clear laws or regulations surrounding abortion, which means it is considered legal up to the point of birth. In this instance, it was the act of infanticide — leaving the child born alive to then die — which led to the murder charge.

The Korea Medical Association, the country’s largest group of physicians, condemned the incident, noting “a fetus at 36 weeks of pregnancy is a baby who could survive well if born, and terminating a pregnancy at this stage is tantamount to murder.” (Read more from “Abortionist Charged With Murder for ‘Callously’ Leaving Born-Alive Infant To Die” HERE)

Camp Owner Makes Ultimate Sacrifice to Rescue Children From Deadly Texas Flood

The camp director and co-owner of Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, died in the catastrophic flooding as he reportedly raced to save the lives of his young campers.

Dick Eastland, who purchased the camp in 1974, died after the wall of water crashed through the Christian summer camp, which is located along the banks of the Guadalupe River, Texas Public Radio reported.

The report cited a Facebook post from Eastland’s nephew, though the post has since been taken down.

Counselors, former campers and politicians who knew Eastland praised him for his heroic actions and ultimate sacrifice to save his campers.

“Camp Mystic’s Dick Eastland no doubt gave his life attempting to save his campers,” Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, wrote on X. “For decades he and his wife Tweety poured his life into loving and developing girls and women of character. Thank you Mr. Eastland. We love you and miss you.” (Read more from “Camp Owner Makes Ultimate Sacrifice to Rescue Children From Deadly Texas Flood” HERE)
