Reporter Who Broke Clinton Tarmac Story Found Dead (VIDEO)

The Alabama TV anchor who broke news of the infamous 2016 “tarmac meeting” between former President Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch died Saturday in an apparent suicide, according to reports and his employer.

Christopher Sign, 45, was found dead by Hoover, Ala., police around 8:13 a.m. Saturday after cops received a call of “a person down” at his Scout Trace home, according to Al.com. The former college football player’s death is being investigated as a suicide, Hoover Lt. Keith Czeskleba said, according to the outlet.

“Chris was a tremendous leader in our newsroom,” wrote ABC 33/40, Sign’s outlet, in a Saturday tribute to the reporter.

“He worked with our reporting staff on a daily basis, but also worked behind the scenes with the I-Team and with news managers on coverage of major events,” the obituary continued. “You were very likely to get an email from him with a story idea in the middle of the night. Too Fat to Fly: FAA Updates Guidelines as American Obesity Crisis Grows

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is demanding U.S. airlines submit plans with updated weight averages they will use for passengers and baggage moving forward by Saturday.

According to the Wall Street Journal, “Airlines officials say the weight estimates used for passengers and baggage are going up between 5 percent and 10 percent.” . . .

The new guidelines, and likely travel disruptions to come with them, are yet another symptom of American weight gain with no signs of abatement. And it’s Krispy Kreme’s fault.

President Biden’s Most Secretive Tax Is Hiding in Plain Sight

In the first six months of the Biden presidency, rising inflation has squeezed businesses and families still reeling from the effects of the pandemic. That could spell trouble for Democrats.

As Americans return to normal life and spending habits, Republicans are sounding the alarm on rising prices, and laying blame squarely on what they see as President Biden’s spendthrift recovery agenda.

Prices increased 0.6% month over month, faster than the 0.4% jump that was anticipated by analysts surveyed by Refinitiv. . .

And Republicans have already set up a strategy to drive the inflation message home to voters for the 2022 midterms. Axios reported that Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), who leads the Republican Study Committee, wrote a memo on inflation to his GOP colleagues: “Of course, they’re trying to spin the media and explain that it has nothing to do with their big-spending policies. Which, we know, is simply false.”

Former Trump White House counsel Don McGahn and his wife received disclosures from Apple last month that their account records were sought by the Justice Department in February 2018, while McGahn was still the top lawyer representing the presidency, according to a person familiar. . .

The pursuit was under a nondisclosure order until May, indicating the Justice Department went to a judge multiple times to keep it secret throughout former President Donald Trump’s years in office. . .

It is extraordinary to subpoena a White House counsel’s records.

The Justice Department appears to have accessed McGahn and his wife’s information the same month the department swept up Apple’s data related to dozens of phone numbers and email accounts connected to the House Intelligence Committee, including for two of its Democratic members. Businesses Threaten To Withhold Tax Payments Until Dem-Run City Gets Crime Under Control

More than three dozen businesses in Baltimore’s Fells Point are threatening to withhold tax and permit payments amid “chaos and lawlessness” that they say has been “going on for far too long,” according to local reports.

The coalition of 37 businesses sent a letter Tuesday to officials, including the mayor, council president, police commissioner and state’s attorney, complaining about illegal alcohol and drug sales, public drinking, poor trash pickup and parking enforcement, and other problems, according to several local reports.

They are calling for Baltimore officials to restore “basic and essential municipal services.”

“[W]e are fed up and frustrated, and we now realize that nothing will change unless we demand action,” the letter states, according to local affiliate FOX Baltimore. . .

If the city doesn’t respond, business owners say they’ll withhold tax and permit payments, placing those funds into an escrow account.

State Hit With Lawsuit for Withholding Gun Rights for People Under 21

A lawsuit has been filed in federal court against the state of Minnesota for withholding Second Amendment rights for those individuals under 21.

The action, Worth v. Harrington, was brought by the Second Amendment Foundation on behalf of a number of plaintiffs including the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, Firearms Policy Coalition and three private citizens in the affected age group.

Defendants are John Harrington, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, plus three county sheriffs, Mille Lac County Sheriff Don Lorge, Douglas County Sheriff Troy Wolbersen and Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry, in their individual and official capacities. . .

“We recognize the rights of law-abiding young adults to vote, join the military, sign contracts, start businesses, get married and do other things,” said SAF Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, “but when it comes to exercising one of the most basic fundamental rights protected by the Constitution, suddenly we treat them like children. You shouldn’t be able to have it both ways.”

The complaint charges, “The state of Minnesota prohibits a certain class of law-abiding, responsible citizens – namely, adults who have reached the age of 18 but are not yet 21 – from fully exercising the right to keep and bear arms. At 18 years of age, law-abiding citizens in this country are considered adults for almost all purposes and certainly for the purposes of the exercise of fundamental constitutional rights. Hamas Unloads on Ilhan Omar — For Comparing Terror Group to the U.S.

Rep. Ilhan Omar is taking flak from all sides: now she’s even offended Hamas.

The terror group on Saturday condemned the Minnesota Democrat’s explosive tweet that compared the US and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban — drawing the ire of both Democrats and Republicans this week.

Omar “equated between the victim and the executioner,” Basem Naim of Hamas’ International Relations Office complained in a statement that took issue with her Monday post on Twitter.

Law Firm Accused of Firing Pro-Trump Partners and Employees

Three former employees of a Minneapolis law firm are alleging that the firm’s president wrongfully fired them due to his belief that they were supporters of former President Trump.

William Kain, Margaret Henehan and Kelsey Quarberg, who were all partners at St.Cloud-based Kain and Scott law firm, filed a lawsuit against law firm president Wesley Scott alleging that he sought to fire employees he believed shared pro-Trump posts on social media, according to the Star Tribune.

The outlet reported that Scott is accused of telling the law firm’s operation manager to fire two employees he deemed to be racist because they were Trump supporters. When she refused, Scott fired her as well as another employee, the suit claims.

Kain, Henehan and Quarberg allege in the lawsuit that Scott’s actions came as a result of his outrage over the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Scott is also accused of calling the police to remove Quarberg from the building and telling other employees that the partners were violating “everything that is dear to us and I won’t let that happen,” The Associated Press reported. Pervert Who Masturbated on Zoom is CNN’s Chief Legal Analyst Again

Jeffrey Toobin returned to CNN on Thursday afternoon and admitted that masturbating during a Zoom call — which got him fired from the New Yorker and led to a leave of absence from the network — was “deeply moronic and indefensible.”

FDA Orders J&J To Throw Out 60 Million COVID Vaccines

Federal regulators have instructed Johnson & Johnson to discard roughly 60 million single-shot COVID-19 vaccines due to possible contamination following a manufacturing mishap at the Baltimore-based Emergent BioSolutions, an error that shut down the plant two months ago.

The Food and Drug Administration told the company to throw out the shots, and it has not yet decided whether the plant can reopen, according to the New York Times.

Federal regulators closed the plant two months ago amid reports that factory workers mistakenly contaminated 15 million J&J shots with the key ingredient for the AstraZeneca vaccine, which was also in production at that plant, even though it has not yet passed regulatory muster in the United States.
