C-SPAN Had So Many Democrats Calling in Support for Trump That They Had to Change Their Protocol

C-SPAN changed their open phone line labels after an overwhelming number of Democratic viewers called on Wednesday night proclaiming their support for President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

“I’m a longtime Democrat, born and raised … After watching tonight … I have made up my mind. I am definitely gonna vote for Donald Trump,” said one of the many voters who dialed in.

Before the Republican National Convention, C-SPAN’s open phone lines were labeled as open for “Democrats,” “Republicans,” and “Other” viewers to call into and share their opinions on-air. After Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, however, C-SPAN received an influx of callers who identified as Democrat but said they would be voting for Trump in November.

Due to the increasing nature of these calls, the network adjusted the phone lines to encompass those who “Support Trump,” “Support Biden,” and “Support Others.”

While polling about the effect Trump’s speech on voters is not out yet, many of the callers who dialed in expressed their frustration with the Democratic Party as well as the Democratic National Convention. RNC Featured Diverse Lineup of Speakers

The 2020 Republican National Convention (RNC) this week featured a notable amount of diversity in its speaker lineup that included nearly two dozen Black, Hispanic, Asian, and even handicapped speakers.

The speakers delivered heartfelt speeches about their own personal struggles, how they became Republican, or how they have benefitted under the Trump administration.

One of the most memorable speeches from the first night of the RNC was from Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican senator of South Carolina, who said he went from flunking four subjects in high school to realizing that education was the closest thing to “magic.” . . .

Another memorable speech the first night was from Kimberly Klacik, a young female U.S. House of Representative candidate for Maryland’s 7th district.

Rep. Vernon Jones (D-GA), a Georgia state representative, also delivered a fiery speech on the first night, saying the Democrat Party does not “want black people to leave the mental plantation they’ve had us on for decades.”

Hundreds of Faith Leaders Endorse Joe Biden

A coalition of more than 350 faith leaders endorsed Joe Biden for president this week, citing a need for “moral clarity” to “restore the soul of this nation.”

“Faith 2020 is raising awareness, mobilizing faith-rooted voters to get out the vote and doing our part to restore the soul of the nation,” the group wrote on its website. “We’re a group of progressives, independents and conservatives seeking change.”

Faith 2020 received endorsements from faith leaders of various religions – Christian, Jewish, Sikh, Muslim and others.

Its list includes well-known names, such as Nadia Bolz-Weber, a Lutheran minister who founded the LGBTQ-friendly House for All Sinners and Saints in Denver; and Robert W. Lee IV, a descendant of the Confederate general, who stepped down as pastor of a North Carolina church and became a supporter of Black Lives Matter.

The group points to notable decreases in support from White Catholics. Currently, 37 percent of White Catholics hold favorable views of the president, down from 49 percent in 2019, according to a PRRI study. (Read more from “Hundreds of Faith Leaders Endorse Joe Biden” HERE)

President Trump Uses White House Stage to Attack Biden; WATCH: Chaos Erupts Outside White House at Trump’s RNC Speech

By Washington Examiner. Four years ago, Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president by offering himself as the only figure capable of fixing a broken, demoralized country.

On Thursday night, in front of about 1,500 supporters at the White House, he offered himself as the bulwark against the chaos and disorder threatening his vision of America.

“Your vote will decide whether we protect law-abiding Americans or whether we give free rein to violent anarchists, agitators, and criminals who threaten our citizens,” he said. “And this election will decide whether we will defend the American way of life or whether we allow a radical movement to completely dismantle and destroy it.”

He delivered his remarks from a flag-festooned stage on the South Lawn of the White House. The floodlit building behind him made for a majestic setting, but it brought accusations that he was exploiting the “People’s House” for political purposes in a breach of ethics regulations. . .

“Joe Biden is not the savior of America’s soul — he is the destroyer of America’s jobs, and if given the chance, he will be the destroyer of American greatness,” he said. (Read more from “President Trump Uses White House Stage to Attack Biden” HERE)

Michelle Obama Accuses White Americans of Racism

Former First Lady Michelle Obama criticized white Americans in her latest edition of The Michelle Obama Podcast, stating that she was treated like she didn’t exist during the presidency of her husband Barack.

“When I’ve been completely incognito during the eight years in the White House, walking the dogs on the canal, people will come up and pet my dogs, but will not look me in the eye. They don’t know it’s me,” Obama recounted, adding later: “That is so telling of how white America views people who are not like them, like we don’t exist. And when we do exist, we exist as a threat. And that’s exhausting.”

For so many of us, our friendships have been absolutely critical in helping us get through our toughest days and celebrate our highest highs. And this week on the #MichelleObamaPodcast, I’m talking to a few of my girlfriends: Sharon Malone, Denielle Pemberton-Heard, and Kelly Dibble. Our conversation is a pretty good window into what I love about these ladies. We can reminisce, laugh at each other’s stories, and most of all, we can talk about what’s going on in the world or in our own lives. And with everything that’s been going on over these past few months, it’s been especially crucial for us as women of color to have friends to lean on—a group we can sort through it all together. But to me, this episode isn’t just about my friendships. It’s about yours. It’s about the old friend from school who’s been a confidante for every crucial moment of your life. It’s about the girls who cheered you on during the good times or gave you a shoulder to lean on when times were tough. It’s about the people who know you and support you like no one else. I hope that after listening to this episode, you’ll reach out to them and let them know how much they mean to you. Click the link in my bio to hear this week’s episode with my girlfriends.

During another part of the podcast, Obama recounted how she, daughters Sasha and Malia, and friend Denielle Pemberton-Heard went for ice cream. “We had just finished taking the girls to a soccer game. We were stopping to get ice cream and I had told the Secret Service to stand back, because we were trying to be normal, trying to go in,” Obama recalled. “There was a line, and… when I’m just a black woman, I notice that white people don’t even see me. They’re not even looking at me.” (Read more from “Michelle Obama Accuses White Americans of Racism” HERE)

Violent Crime – Which Was Ignored at the DNC – Now One of the Most Important Issues for Voters

A recent poll from the Pew Research Center indicates violent crime is a major issue amongst voters heading into the 2020 presidential election.

A sizable 59 percent of voters in the survey indicate that violent crime, which President Trump has framed as happening in Democrat-controlled cities, is a “very important” factor in casting their ballots.

When Obama Postmaster Closed Facilities During 2012 Election, Democrats Sang Different Tune

After the discredited cries of Russia collusion and Ukrainian aid interference, Democrats in Washington have sounded a new alarm that President Trump and his new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy may be trying to thwart mail-in balloting in the November election by cutting costs at the postal service.

DeJoy has assured lawmakers he has delayed his reform plans until after the election to ensure voters aren’t impacted. But Democrats have continued to harp on the idea that Trump is engaged in a conspiracy to suppress ballots.

“What you are witnessing is a president of the United States who is doing everything he can to suppress the vote, make it harder for people to engage in mail-in balloting at a time when people will be putting their lives on the line by having to go out to a polling station and vote,” Sen. Bernie Sanders told NBC’s Meet the Press earlier this month. “This is a crisis for American democracy. We have got to act and act now.”

Interestingly enough, Sanders saw no similar conspiracy in 2012 when President Barack Obama’s Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe proposed closing as many as 223 mail processing facilities and eliminating thousands of postal jobs.

To be fair, Sanders and 26 of his Senate Democratic colleagues strongly opposed Donahue’s cutbacks, asking for a delay and congressional oversight. But in their letter, they didn’t once mention concerns about mail ballots or elections, instead focusing on lost jobs for unionized postal workers and inconvenience for rural customers. Trump’s Approval Rating Hits New High: ‘Best Job Approval Rating on Record’

Buoyed by blacks and independent voters, as well as urban dwellers shocked by the Black Lives Matter protest violence raging in some cities, President Trump’s approval rating has hit a new high, according to a survey heavy with minority voters.

The latest Zogby Poll just shared with Secrets had Trump’s approval at 52%. “The president has recorded his best job approval rating on record,” said pollster Jonathan Zogby.

What’s more, his approval rating among minorities was solid and, in the case of African Americans, shockingly high. Zogby said 36% of blacks approve of the president, as do 37% of Hispanics and 35% of Asians.

Approval among independent voters is also up, to 44%. And “intriguingly,” said Zogby, 23% of Democrats approve of Trump.

It was the latest to show that Trump’s approval went up during the Democratic National Convention. Rasmussen Reports had it at 51% at the end of the convention. (Read more from “Trump’s Approval Rating Hits New High: ‘Best Job Approval Rating on Record’” HERE)

Biden Looks to Break Out of the Basement After Labor Day

After months of political jokes about him hiding in his basement, Joe Biden looks set to join President Trump in returning to the campaign trail in September.

“I’m a tactile politician. I really miss being able to, you know, grab hands, shake hands, you can’t do that now. But I can, in fact, appear beyond virtually, in person, in many of these places. That’s what you’re going to be seeing after Labor Day,” the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee said Thursday.

Biden, the two-term vice president, listed Arizona, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as likely destinations during a fundraiser hosted by the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. But he promised that any plans would adhere to local and state rules “about how many people can, in fact, assemble.”

“We’re going to do it in a way that is totally consistent with being responsible, unlike what this guy’s doing,” he said, referring to Trump’s nomination acceptance speech Thursday at the White House. (Read more from “Biden Looks to Break Out of the Basement After Labor Day” HERE)

Parents of Slain Humanitarian Worker RIP Obama Administration at RNC

Carl and Marsha Mueller — the parents of humanitarian worker Kayla Mueller, who was reported dead in 2015 after being abducted by ISIS — argued their daughter might still be alive if the Obama administration had been tougher, in their speech during the fourth and final night of the Republican National Convention.

“Let me just say this: Kayla should be here. If Donald Trump had been President when Kayla was captured, she would be here today,” Carl Mueller said in an emotional speech Thursday night.

Mueller, 26 was a humanitarian worker from Prescott, Ariz., who was abducted by the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham fighters along with her boyfriend in 2013, after leaving a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Aleppo, Syria.

“Kayla had a gift to be able to see the world through someone else’s eyes,” Marsha Mueller said Thursday night. “She became a humanitarian aid worker and when she was helping children at an orphanage in India, Kayla wrote, ‘I find God in the suffering eyes reflected in mine, if this is how you are revealed to me, this is how I will forever seek you.’”

Mueller was held prisoner by ISIS leader and founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who reportedly sexually abused and tortured her for 18-months, before blowing himself up in Oct. 2019 as U.S. Special Forces raided his compound.
