Accused Shooter Came to U.S. As Refugee

By Breitbart. The suspect accused of shooting four people and killing a woman in Cleveland, Texas, last week was a foreign refugee who entered the United States decades ago, Breitbart News has confirmed.

Last week, 65-year-old Pavol Vido was wanted by Texas police after he allegedly shot four people, including shooting a Liberty County Sheriff’s deputy in the neck and killing one woman. After a short search by police, Vido shot and killed himself.

A law enforcement official confirmed to Breitbart News that Vido entered the U.S. as a refugee in 1977 from the Czech Republic and lived in the country as a refugee until his death, never applying for a green card. (Read more from “Accused Shooter Came to U.S. As Refugee” HERE)

Suspect in Texas Shootings That Left a Woman Dead Has Killed Himself, Police Say

By NBC News. An hourslong search that began Wednesday morning after a 65-year-old man allegedly shot and killed a woman and injured a deputy in back-to-back shootings in Texas ended with the suspect killing himself, authorities said.

Multiple law enforcement agencies began searching for Pavol Vido after he allegedly opened fire around 7 a.m. at a plumbing shop in Cleveland, Texas, 45 minutes north of Houston. He then fled the scene and shot a deputy who had pursued him into the parking lot of a veterinary clinic.

Scent dogs with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice tracked Vido’s scent and found him hiding under a boat, the agency said in a Facebook post. Vido shot and killed himself after he was confronted by officers, according to authorities.

Liberty County Sheriff’s Capt. Ken DeFoor told KPRC-TV earlier Wednesday that Vido entered the plumbing shop and shot three people.

The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, DeFoor told the outlet. The other two victims were hospitalized. (Read more from “Suspect in Texas Shootings That Left a Woman Dead Has Killed Himself, Police Say” HERE)

Prosecutor Removed from Navy SEAL Murder Trial

The military prosecutor of a decorated Navy SEAL accused of murdering a wounded teenage ISIS prisoner in Iraq was booted from the case by a military judge Monday over unsanctioned tracking of the defense team’s emails.

Capt. Aaron Rugh ordered Cmdr. Christopher Czaplak removed from the case after lawyers for Special Operations Chief Edward “Eddie” Gallagher accused prosecutors of attaching tracking software to emails sent to them and a Navy Times journalist in a bid to find the source of leaks to the media. In his ruling, Rugh said it was not in his power to determine prosecutorial misconduct, but there was the possibility of a conflict of interest that required Czaplak to be removed.

It was not immediately clear how Rugh’s decision would affect Gallagher’s trial, which is scheduled to begin June 10. The judge has not ruled on whether to dismiss charges of murder and attempted murder against Gallagher. . .

“Chief Petty Officer Gallagher is entitled to a fair trial and the Navy is committed to upholding that principle,” O’Rourke said. The defense team has said that even if a new prosecutor is named, Gallagher can’t get a fair trial.

It is extremely unusual for a military judge to remove the prosecution or dismiss a case only days before the start of a trial. Rugh ordered Gallagher released from custody last week after the email tracking came to light. (Read more from “Prosecutor Removed from Navy SEAL Murder Trial” HERE)

Mueller and Democrat Operatives Continue to Wildly Exaggerate Russian Election Interference

In order to sway the masses to believe that President Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election, the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration first had to convince the American people that Russia deployed a massive cyber intrusion campaign to swing the election in Trump’s favor.

This core contention, regularly echoed by Democrats (and many Republicans, too), that Russia deployed advanced cyber tools to interfere in our electoral politics, was regurgitated Wednesday by special counsel Robert Mueller in his press conference at the Department of Justice.

“As alleged by the grand jury in an indictment, Russian intelligence officers who were part of the Russian military launched a concerted attack on our political system,” Mueller said to begin his remarks.

He added:

The indictment alleges that they used sophisticated cyber techniques to hack into computers and networks used by the Clinton campaign. They stole private information, and then released that information through fake online identities and through the organization WikiLeaks. The releases were designed and timed to interfere with our election and to damage a presidential candidate.

And at the same time, as the grand jury alleged in a separate indictment, a private Russian entity engaged in a social media operation where Russian citizens posed as Americans in order to interfere in the election.

“I will close by reiterating the central allegation of our indictments—that there were multiple, systematic efforts to interfere in our election,” the Special Counsel said in concluding his remarks.

Mueller’s statement of a “sophisticated” cyber intrusion is not backed by the evidence that is publicly available to date. We do know that Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Clinton campaign officials were targeted by a primitive spear-phishing campaign. Both John Podesta (Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman) and DNC officials were not actually “hacked” according to the proper definition of the term. They fell for a widespread (and again, a very primitive) email phishing scam — which also targeted Republican political operatives — and delivered their passwords to the intruders on a silver platter. These “Nigerian prince”-style attacks have targeted hundreds of millions of email accounts. It’s safe to say that Vladimir Putin is not personally directing every one of them. Anyway, once the intruders obtained the passwords of these officials, they could easily scoop up a database of all of the target emails and perhaps access to other valuable items such as bank account numbers. This is what happened in the case of Podesta. He entered his password into a fake email form sent by the phishing scammers, who were posing as a Google security email team. The phishing scammers then had free access to observe all of his communications, which were eventually published by WikiLeaks.

As for the DNC and DCCC “hack,” the FBI was denied access to the DNC’s servers and had to rely on data from a third-party contractor to make its determination. The Clinton-tied third-party contractor Crowdstrike did not divulge how exactly the DNC servers were accessed, but the Mueller report said that these cyber intruders may have used credentials stolen from the Clinton campaign officials to access the DNC and DCCC servers.

By all indications, this alleged Russian campaign succeeded because the Clinton campaign and DNC failed to adopt even the most basic security protocols to stop intrusions.

It is a geopolitical reality that America’s adversaries will always try to exploit its weakness to their advantage. It is up to our officials to make sure the American system is shielded from more inevitable intrusion attempts. Ultimately, the Clinton campaign and DNC were grossly negligent of their security responsibilities. They only have themselves to blame for being vulnerable to the intrusions.

But that was not the story that the legacy media would tell. For the past three years, we have been told, through a narrative spread by Democrat typists in the legacy media, along with America’s highest-ranking politicians and intelligence officials, that the Russians attacked the very fabric of our republic.

Prior to the “Russia hacking” narrative’s explosion in the media, President Barack Obama himself dismissed the idea that the intrusion was some kind of high-level, massive cyber operation. He said that the “manipulations, which as I’ve said publicly before, were not particularly sophisticated,” adding that “this was not some elaborate, complicated espionage scheme.”

The alleged Russian hacking campaign, just like the Russian social media disinformation operation, was a low-level, low-resource (Russia spent approximately $100,000 on Facebook ads) campaign meant to sow general discord in the United States. But if you listen to the average Democrat politician or read the latest anonymously sourced dispatch from the New York Times or the Washington Post, the narrative continues that Russia dropped operations akin to a cyber nuclear bomb on America.

Now that the “Trump-Russia” collusion allegations have been proven false, it’s time to take on the core “Russian interference” narrative that spawned the Mueller probe in the first place. Mueller’s Key Witness Was Just Charged with a Serious Crime

By Townhall. One of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s key witnesses, George Nader, on Monday was charged with transporting child pornography last year. Nader is a Lebanese businessman with ties to President Donald Trump’s associates, The Hill reported. He was responsible for brokering “a meeting in the Seychelles between Trump ally and Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian financier.”

Nader was arrested at John F. Kennedy airport on Monday. Following his arrest, the details of his charges were made public.

On January 17, 2018, Nader returned from a trip to Dubai. He flew into Washington, D.C.’s Dulles Airport. He was “voluntarily interviewed by FBI agents regarding a matter unrelated to child pornography,” the court documents said. An anonymous source told the Washington Post investigators were interested in interviewing him as part of the Russia probe.

He was given a search warrant for an unrelated case. The search warrant covered electronics, which included the three iPhones he had on his person. During the search, “the case agent in that other matter uncovered multiple files which appeared to contain child pornography.” (Read more from “Mueller’s Key Witness Was Just Charged with a Serious Crime” HERE)

Mueller’s Key Witness Was Just Charged with a Serious Crime

By Washington Post. . .Nader played an unusual role as a kind of liaison between Trump supporters, Middle East leaders and Russians interested in making contact with the incoming administration in early 2017.

Officials said Nader, 60, was charged by criminal complaint over material he was traveling with when he arrived at Washington Dulles International Airport on Jan. 17, 2018, from Dubai. At the time, he was carrying a cellphone containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, officials said. The charges were unsealed after his arrest Monday morning at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

Lawyers for Nader did not return calls seeking comment. At a brief court appearance in New York, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Pollak ordered Nader to remain in custody, pending a further hearing Tuesday.

If convicted, Nader faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 40 years, officials said. (Read more from “Mueller’s Key Witness Was Just Charged with a Serious Crime” HERE)

Bader Ginsburg Just Sided with Conservative Justices

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of the four liberal justices on the Supreme Court, sided with her conservative colleagues on Monday over a prisoner’s supervisory release. She joined Justices Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, Samuel Alito and Brett Kavanaugh in the majority, deciding that a criminal defendant, in this case Jason Mont, can be sentenced for violating his supervised release, even if the release expires while he is incarcerated ahead of facing new charges. Her vote was swapped with conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch, who joined liberal Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan in their dissent.

Mont had been indicted by a grand jury for multiple drug and firearm offenses. He was released from federal prison on March 6, 2012, but broke the law again on supervised release, found guilty of two counts of cocaine trafficking. He then tested positive on several drug tests. His supervised release date was set for June 28, 2017.

The District Court issued a warrant on March 30, 2017, and ultimately set a supervised-release hearing for June 28, 2017. Two days before that hearing, Mont challenged the jurisdiction of the District Court based on the fact that his supervised release had initially been set to expire on March 6, 2017. The court concluded that it had authority to supervise Mont, revoked his supervised release, and ordered him to serve an additional 42 months’ imprisonment to run consecutive to his state sentence.

Pro-Gun Control Chicago Has 52 Shot, 10 Killed in One Weekend

Chicago finished last year with a downturn in shootings and homicides, but 2019 is threatening to reverse whatever progress was made in the last months of 2018, and with the weather turning warmer, it seems Chicagoans are determined to have a bloody summer.

Over the weekend, Chicago saw its most violent days and nights so far this year. A total of 52 people were shot between Friday night and Sunday night. Ten of those victims were killed, according to NBC News.

Chicago police superintendent Eddie Johnson called the incidents part of a “despicable level of violence,” and promised targeted patrols in neighborhoods on the south and west side where violence has become a regular part of everyday life, thanks to increases in gang activity.

Johnson did note that police likely prevented a bloodier couple of days; over the course of the weekend, officers confiscated approximately 90 firearms, “nearly double the amount of guns that we take in during a particular weekend.” Nearly 20 people were arrested on firearms charges alone.

Chicago had hoped for an immediate downward trend, as Lori Lightfoot took over the mayor’s office from Rahm Emanuel, who often found himself incapable of handling such intense levels of violence, but as Lightfoot herself pointed out last week, handling the gang warfare taking place on the city’s south and west sides will take time and a lot of police and community cooperation. 2020: Biden Snagged in Spygate?

By Breitbart. Vice President Joe Biden was documented as being present in the Oval Office for a conversation about the controversial Russia probe between President Obama, disgraced ex-FBI chief James Comey, Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and other senior officials including Obama’s national security advisor Susan Rice.

In an action characterized as “odd” last year by then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, Rice memorialized the confab in an email to herself describing Obama as starting “the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities ‘by the book.’”

Grassley, in a letter to Rice, commented: “It strikes us as odd that, among your activities in the final moments on the final day of the Obama administration, you would feel the need to send yourself such an unusual email purporting to document a conversation involving President Obama and his interactions with the FBI regarding the Trump/Russia investigation.”

Grassley noted the unusual timing of the email sent by Rice to herself more than two weeks after the January 5, 2017 White House meeting on the Russia investigation, but mere hours before she vacated the White House for the incoming Trump administration. . .

“If the timestamp is correct, you sent this email to yourself at 12:15 pm, presumably a very short time before you departed the White House for the last time,” Grassley wrote to Rice in a letter seeking clarification on a number of issues regarding the email and the Oval Office briefing at which Biden was documented as being present. Obama’s Secret Struggle to Punish Russia

By The Washington Post. . .The material was so sensitive that CIA Director John O. Brennan kept it out of the President’s Daily Brief, concerned that even that restricted report’s distribution was too broad. The CIA package came with instructions that it be returned immediately after it was read. To guard against leaks, subsequent meetings in the Situation Room followed the same protocols as planning sessions for the Osama bin Laden raid. . .

Over that five-month interval, the Obama administration secretly debated dozens of options for deterring or punishing Russia, including cyberattacks on Russian infrastructure, the release of CIA-gathered material that might embarrass Putin and sanctions that officials said could “crater” the Russian economy.

But in the end, in late December, Obama approved a modest package combining measures that had been drawn up to punish Russia for other issues — expulsions of 35 diplomats and the closure of two Russian compounds — with economic sanctions so narrowly targeted that even those who helped design them describe their impact as largely symbolic. More Details Emerge About Virginia Shooting

By Fox News. The Virginia Beach shooter who killed 12 people and wounded several others in a municipal complex on Friday had submitted his resignation earlier that morning, officials said Sunday.

The gunman, identified as 40-year-old DeWayne Craddock, was an engineer with the city’s public utilities department for 15 years. In a news conference Sunday morning, Virginia Beach City Manager Dave Hansen described the man’s work performance as “satisfactory” with no ongoing issues of discipline. . .

Virginia Beach Police Chief James Cervera said that there was no “glaring” motive and no information on whether the gunman was targeting a specific person. . .

Officers arrived outside the building within two minutes of receiving a call of shots fired, the chief said. Minutes later, the officers who entered the building engaged in a “long gun battle” with the suspect. Cervera said the gunfight lasted 5 to 8 minutes and the number of rounds fired went into the double digits, though he couldn’t give specific numbers.

One officer was shot and wounded during the exchange of gunfire, he said. Officers eventually breached a door the gunman had been firing behind. The suspect was wounded when officers took him into custody. Police immediately rendered first aid, but Craddock later died. (Read more from “More Details Emerge About Virginia Shooting” HERE)

This Republican Has an Idea About the Identity of the Senior FBI Official Who Was Leaking Confidential Material

By Townhall. Republican Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, wants to know whom the identity of the senior FBI official who was leaking confidential information to the media. . .

Fired FBI Peter Strzok, who reportedly was a key player in the Hillary Clinton email probe and signed off on the FBI’s counterintelligence probe that eventually became the probe helmed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, is listed as being the Deputy Assistant Director of the Espionage Section in September of 2016. In fact, he’s the only name that appears next to that title in the report. . .

Strzok and his mistress, former bureau lawyer Lisa Page, are at the epicenter of the allegations of bias and misconduct at the FBI over the 2016 election. The two shared tens of thousands of texts that exhibited the worst professional form from the FBI. They were anti-Trump and meant exactly what they said; Strzok tried to pass on that there was no bias in these communications and that they showed his patriotism. They discussed an “insurance policy” with disgraced ex-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who Katie also noted leaked to the press and lied under oath about it. His conduct has been referred to for criminal prosecution. That “insurance policy” is reportedly the Trump dossier, an unverified piece of political opposition research that was funded by the Democrats, which was used to secure a FISA spy warrant against Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page. Alas, the FISA abuse allegations stemming from Spygate. (Read more from “This Republican Has an Idea About the Identity of the Senior FBI Official Who Was Leaking Confidential Material” HERE)

Doug Collins Suspects Ex-FBI Leaker Is Peter Strzok

By Washington Examiner. A top Republican wants to know if a high-ranking FBI official who leaked “sensitive” information and improperly accepted a gift from the media was Peter Strzok, the former FBI agent who is well known for his text messages displaying a negative opinion of President Trump.

Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, wrote letters to Attorney General William Barr and Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Thursday with questions about the DOJ watchdog’s investigation into FBI misconduct.

In his letter to Horowitz, Collins asked about a one-page report released on Wednesday that found a now-former FBI deputy assistant director “engaged in misconduct” by disclosing information to the media that had been filed under seal in federal court, maintaining dozens of unauthorized contacts with reporters, and accepting a $225 ticket from a member of the media to attend a dinner sponsored by the media. New Poll Has More Great News for President Trump

President Trump’s job approval rating is the highest it’s been in two years, boosted by voter optimism about the economy, according to the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey.

The survey found that 48 percent approve of the job Trump is doing, compared to 52 percent who said they disapprove. That’s up from 45 percent approval in March. The last time the president’s job approval rating reached 48 percent in the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey was in June of 2017.

Trump appears to be getting a lift from the economy, with a record 62 percent approving of his approach to employment and 59 percent approving of his handling of the economy. . .

“People’s views on the economy are gradually pushing Trump’s numbers up and his actions on other issues like China and immigration are neutral to positive,” said Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey. “Every point of increase in this range of 45 to 50 improves the possibility of re-election.” . . .

Only 37 percent of voters said they would definitely or probably vote for Trump in the 2020 presidential election, compared to 42 percent who said they would definitely or probably vote for the Democratic nominee. Twelve percent of voters are unsure, and 9 percent said they’d vote for an independent or third-party candidate. (Read more from “New Poll Has More Great News for President Trump” HERE)
