Large Group of Migrants Tunnels Under Arizona Border Wall

Border patrol agents in Arizona this week were overwhelmed after the largest caravan of migrants ever to cross into the United States tunneled beneath the border wall near San Luis, Arizona. According to ABC News, the migrants immediately turned themselves into Customs and Border Protection.

“Migrants can be seen marching toward Border Patrol agents by the hundreds,” reports ABC News. “Smugglers dug a series of seven holes, only a few feet long beneath the steel border fence, with hundreds going beneath the wall and a smaller number clambering over it.”

The migrant group included 376 people, 179 of which were reportedly children, 30 of whom were unaccompanied minors. While the number of illegal crossings has dropped significantly since its peak in 2001, Customs and Border Protection says the demographics of today’s migrants have noticeably changed due to the overwhelming number of parents crossing with children.

“Parents with children now comprise over 80 percent of the total apprehensions of those crossing the 2,000-mile long border with Mexico,” reports ABC News. “The vast majority of them, like the group near Yuma Monday, surrender immediately or seek out Border Patrol agents in order to begin the asylum process.”

One particular case highlighted by ABC News was a man who paid coyotes $5,000 to lead him and his 12-year-old daughter up from Guatemala to the U.S. border, leaving behind his wife and two daughters. The case recalls that of the crying girl in the famous Time photo whose mother also took her from her family via coyotes. After Canceling Pelosi’s Trip, Trump Bans ALL Congressional Travel on Government Aircraft Without WH Permission

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., made a mistake when she tried to troll President Donald Trump by postponing the State of the Union address. You cannot out-troll Donald Trump. It is not physically possible. And Trump continues to prove that with a new order from the White House.

On Friday, the Trump administration acting Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought sent a memo to all heads of executive departments and agencies instructing that members of Congress cannot travel on government aircraft without express permission from the White House.

“Under no circumstances during a government shutdown will any government owned, rented, leased, or chartered aircraft support any Congressional delegation, without the express written approval of the White House Chief of Staff,” the letter states.

So it’s not just Pelosi’s trip that’s been canceled now, but all air travel on government planes by members of Congress.

You cannot out-troll Donald Trump. (For more from the author of “After Canceling Pelosi’s Trip, Trump Bans ALL Congressional Travel on Government Aircraft Without WH Permission” please click HERE)

BuzzFeed’s Trump-Russia Michael Cohen ‘Bombshell’ Has Massive Holes in It

BuzzFeed’s latest Trump-Russia collusion hit claims that President Trump directed Michael Cohen, his former attorney, to lie to Congress about a prospective building project in Moscow. The felonious allegation has spun the legacy media into a full-on frenzy. It is perhaps the biggest Trump-Russia story since The Guardian published an evidence-free claim (which turned out to be bogus) that short-lived Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort recently met on multiple occasions in London with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Media pundits, leftist partisans in and out of government, and NeverTrumpers are citing the latest BuzzFeed article as evidence that the president committed a felony in lying to Congress and therefore that impeachment proceedings must begin at once.

It’s time to pump the brakes on that insanity. Here’s why you should take a cautious approach to BuzzFeed’s latest production.

All anonymous sources, no documentary evidence

There is not one on-the-record source. Nor is there a single physical document provided to back up the claims made in the piece. It relies wholly on the spoken word of “two federal law enforcement officials,” who may or may not have a political axe to grind against the president, and documents that may or may not exist. We have to rely entirely on the credibility of not only the reporters who transcribed the claims, but the officials who hide under the cover of anonymity.

“The special counsel’s office learned about Trump’s directive for Cohen to lie to Congress through interviews with multiple witnesses from the Trump Organization and internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents,” the report claims, adding that “Cohen then acknowledged those instructions during his interviews with that office.”

Notably, none of these emails, memos, texts, or documents make it into the story.

Michael Cohen is a serial liar

Much of the BuzzFeed story relies on the apparent claims of Michael Cohen, who will soon be going to jail for his history as a serial criminal fraudster.

Michael Cohen clearly has a serious credibility problem. Last month, he pleaded guilty to defrauding banks and lying to the government about his taxes, resulting in years of upcoming jail time for the former Trump associate. Moreover, one of the president’s current attorneys, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, has accused Michael Cohen of being a “pathological liar.”

When Cohen registered his guilty plea last month, he claimed that his lies were a result of his “blind loyalty” to the president, not that he was told to lie. Cohen never claimed that he was “directed” to lie. If the BuzzFeed article has the truth, then Cohen apparently lied in his guilty plea.

Moreover, the story quotes President Trump telling Michael Cohen to “make it happen” concerning the Moscow project and a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The third-hand “make it happen” quote is sourced to the two anonymous officials, who appear to be relying on complete hearsay from Michael Cohen.

Reporter has admitted to not seeing any of the evidence

In a CNN interview this morning, BuzzFeed reporter Anthony Cormier openly admitted that he has not seen a single piece of evidence to corroborate his report.

Asked whether he had seen any of the evidence put forward in his own report, Cormier replied, “not personally,” but insisted that “the folks we have talked to … are fully, 100 percent read into that aspect of the Special Counsel’s investigation.”

The “Moscow Project” never came close to a reality

The BuzzFeed story insists that “negotiations” over a prospective Trump Tower in Moscow “occupy an important place in Mueller’s investigation, as agents try to learn whether it is connected to the Kremlin’s interference campaign and whom Trump associates were in contact with to close the deal.”

The much-hyped Trump building proposal in Russia was just that – a proposal. Nothing was built. There was no contract signed.

Prior to his presidential run, Donald Trump had long considered bringing his business enterprises to Russia, which is not illegal, nor particularly uncommon for major corporations such as the Trump Organization. BuzzFeed and the Mueller special counsel have attempted to position the “Moscow Project” as a puzzle piece in a conspiracy that proves the president colluded with Russia, when in fact, the project never amounted to anything and there is nothing particularly abnormal about a real estate developer attempting to legally expand his business horizons.

Co-author of story has a fake news past

Jason Leopold, whose name appeared first on the byline of the story, has a serious credibility problem.

The Columbia Journalism Review has documented that Leopold has been “caught making stuff up” on more than one occasion and “had his own memoir cancelled because of concerns over the accuracy of quotations.”

No Trump-Russia collusion evidence has ever emerged

Many in the media are pointing to BuzzFeed’s “scoop” as evidence to sustain their conspiracy theory that President Trump is compromised by the Russian government and that he colluded with Moscow to win the 2016 presidential election.

Not a single piece of evidence has emerged to show that the Russian government impacted a single vote. Putting aside the preposterous collusion allegations, no evidence has surfaced that President Trump has even the most remote personal or business ties to the Russian government.

Not fit for publication

The BuzzFeed story bases its main claims on hearsay and conjecture. The reporters who wrote the piece admitted that they did not see any of the evidence, and there are no on-the-record sources to verify these claims. It also relies on the hearsay of a convicted criminal liar. The piece would not meet the editorial standards for publication at Conservative Review. Southern Poverty Law Center Slapped With Racketeering Suit

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has filed a lawsuit against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), claiming that SPLC operators Richard Cohen and Heidi Beirich have violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) by “falsely designating CIS as a hate group.”

CIS describes itself as “an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, research organization” that “pursue[s[ a single mission – providing immigration policymakers, the academic community, news media, and concerned citizens with reliable information about the social, economic, environmental, security, and fiscal consequences of legal and illegal immigration into the United States.”

The SPLC, on the other hand, describes itself on its website as “dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.” . . .

“CIS’s much-touted tagline is ‘low immigration, pro-immigrant,’ but the organization has a decades-long history of circulating racist writers, while also associating with white nationalists,” SPLC continues. . .

“SPLC and its leaders have every right to oppose our work on immigration, but they do not have the right to label us a hate group and suggest we are racists,” (CIS Executive Director Mark) Krikorian said. “The Center for Immigration Studies is fighting back against the SPLC smear campaign and its attempt to stifle debate through intimidation and name-calling.” (Read more from “Southern Poverty Law Center Slapped With Racketeering Suit” HERE)

Here We Go: Leftists Begin Smearing Young Woman of Color Nominated to Replace Kavanaugh

. . .Undeterred, the Professional Left and the media are again ramping up their smear machine, this time to target President Trump’s nominee to replace Kavanaugh on the influential DC Circuit Court of Appeals. Activists are dredging up some of the well-qualified nominee’s decades-old, college-era writings, and casting them in the most “problematic” light possible, in order to sully her reputation and diminish her (still strong) confirmation prospects. They are thus demonstrating that their attack apparatus is willing to personally impugn anyone with the “wrong” sort of judicial philosophy, whether it be the ‘privileged white male’ who was recently promoted to SCOTUS, or the young woman of color slated to assume his former position on the bench. Philip Klein views this fight as a prelude to the unprecedented rumble that would undoubtedly explode over a potential third Supreme Court vacancy during Trump’s term:

Neomi Rao is a brilliant legal mind and an extremely well-qualified pick to replace Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. But because she’s a rising star on the Right who has been floated as a potential replacement for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, she must be destroyed. So it’s natural that the Left is trying to make her the latest victim of character assassination. On Monday, Buzzfeed published a story that dredged up some op-eds Rao wrote as an undergraduate at Yale in the 1990s. My colleague Quin Hillyer already posted on how the story distorted her work to portray it in the worst possible light. But it’s worth also looking at the process behind the article.

Look at the quotes themselves, and you’ll discover that they’re not even remotely disqualifying, though some can be portrayed provocatively. Klein also reviews how lefties launder their opposition research through their partners in the mainstream press:

The story notes that it was the “the liberal advocacy group Alliance for Justice” that “first highlighted Rao’s college writings to BuzzFeed News.” In other words, the story was based on opposition research conducted by a liberal group that is tasked with fighting conservative judicial appointments…With the hit pieces out in the media, Alliance for Justice then issued a press release titled, “Rao’s Writings are Disqualifying,” that claimed the organization had “learned” about the writings, citing media reports. So, to sum up: A liberal group dumped oppo to the media, the media played it up, then the liberal group cited those media reports to proclaim the nominee disqualified.

GROUNDED: Nancy Pelosi Tried to Go Overseas During the Shutdown, President Trump Just Killed the Trip

President Trump sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday afternoon informing her an upcoming taxpayer funded, military escorted trip overseas has been postponed.

“Dear Madame Speaker. Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event it totally appropriate. I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown. Obviously, if you would like to make your journey by flying commercial, that would certainly be your prerogative,” President Trump wrote. . .

The trip was part of a larger congressional delegation through the Department of Defense and President Trump denied her military aircraft. According to Fox News, Pelosi was scheduled to leave at 3 p.m. eastern on Thursday afternoon. The letter was sent at 2:20 p.m. An Air Force bus is currently sitting outside House offices, waiting to take lawmakers to the airport. Many of them are on the bus.

New Gun Crime Numbers Are Bad News for the Gun Control Lobby

Earlier this month, the Department of Justice published updated numbers on how guns used and found at the scenes of state and federal crimes were obtained, and the American people will be shocked to know that criminals still don’t like to follow gun laws.

The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) survey was conducted in 2016 and reported that an estimated 287,400 prisoners possessed a gun in 2016 while they committed the crimes for which they were imprisoned.

Overall, it turns out that the vast majority of them didn’t obtain their firearms from a retail source, and fewer than one percent of them got them at a gun show. And a lot of them got their weapons illegally. Who could have guessed?

Here’s what the DOJ found:

Among the prisoners who had a firearm when they committed their crimes, 90 percent did not get their gun from a retail source, and less than one percent got theirs at a gun show.

Only seven percent of state and eight percent of federal prisoners “had purchased it under their own name from a licensed firearm dealer at a retail source.”

About one fifth of those who possessed a gun during their offenses bought it with the intention of committing the crime.

A plurality of prisoners, 43.2 percent, got their guns off of the black market, off the street, or through theft.; 25.3 percent got the gun from a family member or friend, either through purchase, rental, trade, or as a gift; 6.9 percent said they found the gun at the scene of the crime, and 4.6 said the gun was brought by someone else.

These numbers will come as little surprise to Second Amendment advocates who are well aware that gun control laws only keep guns out of the hands of those willing to abide by them. Illegal transactions, black market purchases, and theft all remain as pipelines to get hardware into the hands of criminals.

But anti-gun crusaders keep pushing draconian gun laws (see: Chicago), enhanced background check regulations, and banning specific types of firearms based on mostly cosmetic criteria.

But then again, when have pesky things like facts, data, and reason ever really mattered when it comes to gun control legislation? (For more from the author of “New Gun Crime Numbers Are Bad News for the Gun Control Lobby” please click HERE)

Judge Creates Right for Illegal Alien to Block Deportation… So She Can Sue Law Enforcement

We are told everything illegal aliens want to do in our country is completely legal and they are entitled to all citizen rights, including citizenship for children. On the other hand, everything our law enforcement wants to do to enforce the law against them is somehow held illegal.

We are having a national debate over the effectiveness of a border wall, but we should first have a debate over whether we have a border at all. Judges are creating new constitutional rights for illegal immigrants to invade at breakneck speed, rendering our constitutional protections essentially binding on the entire globe. Nothing should surprise us any more, but the latest story of an El Salvadoran illegal immigrant from Frederick, Maryland, should jolt us all out of our slumber.

Roxana Orellana Santos is an illegal alien from El Salvador who had no right to come to this country in 2005 and no right to remain in this country against the will of the people as expressed through long-standing statute. Pursuant to our laws, Santos was detained by Border Patrol when she broke into our country in Texas and then failed to appear for an immigration hearing. In 2007, an immigration judge issued an order to deport her.

A year into her fugitive life, Frederick cops informally questioned her outside a restaurant on October 7, 2008, after they thought she was running away from them. Upon receiving information from ICE through dispatch that she was here illegally, and then acting on an outstanding immigration warrant from ICE, Frederick sheriff’s deputies arrested Santos as part of their lawful cooperation with the federal government to help apprehend illegal aliens through the 287(g) program, under 8 U.S.C. § 1357(g). It’s part of a law that passed the Senate unanimously in 1996. Frederick is one of the few jurisdictions in Maryland that participates in this program. It has experienced a growth of MS-13 and other criminal activity in this once-serene small city in picturesque western Maryland.

In a sane country, this would have been the end of the story. Santos should have been deported, pursuant to every statute on the books. But Santos, backed by an army of lawyers from the organization CASA de Maryland, sued the Frederick sheriff for what she felt was an illegal search and seizure and the county commissioners for agreeing to operate under 287(g). After endless motions while remained in the country, the district court rebuffed her claim in 2012, but the arch-liberal Fourth Circuit sided with her a year later. The court created a new right for illegals not to be apprehended by local law enforcement because of their immigration status. Last September, District Judge Catherine Blake ruled that Sheriff Jenkins could be held liable in a civil suit for the acts of his deputies. This allows Santos to proceed with a suit for civil damages. Her attorneys are seeking to milk this small county for $1 million in damages! None of us can sue her for sucking up our resources.

It’s bad enough that illegal immigrants get to break into our country, steal American citizenship from us for their kids (Santos has three American-born kids, erroneously regarded as Americans), and sue law enforcement for following our sovereignty laws. But at least she can now be deported, right?

Well, ICE did apprehend her, but Judge Catherine Blake issued a temporary restraining order against her deportation. The rationale? Santos is now entitled to finish out her lawsuit against our own sheriff’s deputies, thereby blocking her deportation.

As a Maryland resident, I must say it’s an outrage that someone can break into my state, sue those who protect us for following all the immigration and criminal justice statutes, and then use that lawsuit to nullify the most foundational federal immigration law to remain here illegally!

Santos has been allowed to remain in the country for a decade of endless litigation, and now there is no doubt the courts will delay the deportation indefinitely with other lawsuits. It’s bad enough that, in our litigious culture, American criminals get away with crime because of the broken legal profession. Are we really going to extend this legal circus to illegal aliens?

As Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies, who has studied 287(g) arrests for years, lamented, “This woman originally was arrested more than a decade ago after she fled from sheriff’s deputies, knowing that she was a fugitive from immigration authorities and knowing that she had flagrantly broken our immigration laws and shown contempt for the generous due process she was given.”

Yet she is now able to use the lawsuit game to buy herself even more time.

As Justice Thomas said in Arizona v. U.S. (2010), “States, as sovereigns, have inherent authority to conduct arrests for violations of federal law, unless and until Congress removes that authority.” There is nothing in federal statute that prohibits local law enforcement from inquiring about immigration status. Indeed, it is preposterous for anyone to assert that local law enforcement can’t arrest someone who must be deported by federal law. Quite the contrary: 8 U. S. C. §1644 unambiguously says that “no State or local government entity may be prohibited, or in any way restricted, from sending to or receiving from” federal immigration officials “information regarding the immigration status” of a foreign national. And of course, §1373(c) says that ICE “shall respond to an inquiry by a Federal, State, or local government agency, seeking to verify or ascertain the citizenship or immigration status of any individual within the jurisdiction of the agency.”

That is exactly what both Frederick officials and ICE did here. Yet, 10 years later, the law has been flipped upside-down and inside-out. States can’t enforce the law, feds can’t enforce the law, and judges can nullify any law.

“Even if her original arrest was unlawful (it wasn’t), she is still deportable because she has absolutely no basis to remain in the United States,” noted Vaughan. “Because the extra time here that she bought herself with the earlier lawsuit is now up, Roxana and her legal team are now suing the good sheriff’s office and ICE just to buy more time. If she ever wants to be a legal immigrant, what she ought to do is return home and wait her turn to try to qualify as a parent of a U.S. citizen born here during the long stay we allowed her. Predatory lawsuits like this damage our system by rewarding improper behavior and they inevitably lead to more baseless lawsuits.”

And who are these people agitating lawsuits and rallies? Groups like CASA de Maryland, which get Maryland taxpayer funding. Their advocacy for illegal aliens has crossed over into aiding and abetting, inducing illegal immigration, and transporting illegal aliens, all violations of various subsections of §1324. But it is we and our police officers who are violating the law, according to these fake judges.

If your blood is not already boiling, the final disgrace to ponder here is the fact that the more illegal aliens are illegally given standing to sue our governments and illegally remain in the country, the more time they have to have babies and further allow “crime to pay.” This woman now has several U.S.-born children. Not only is the Constitution clear, contrary to administrative fiat, that one must be here with permission of the government to enjoy citizenship, our laws are clear that she should have been deported 10 years ago. Now, her husband came here illegally and is, of course, seeking asylum.

We the people have no say in who comes here, contrary to our laws. It is the ultimate violation of the foundational principle of governance by the consent of the governed, as established in the Declaration of Independence.

As we continue to debate the wall, let’s not forget that no wall can save us from this national suicide of judicial lawfare. Our laws aren’t broken. They are written properly. The case law for over 100 years was abundantly clear. Our contemporary judges and politicians are broken. The politicians are allowing unelected judges and lawless groups that abet fugitives to accomplish a degree of judicial amnesty that liberals have failed to accomplish in the legislature for two generations.

Sadly, there is no way to better construct laws that will be clearer than they already are if we are going to allow judges to destroy us from within the confines of our border – wall around it or not. And if the judicial amnesty doesn’t stop, with the intensifying flow of people coming to take advantage of us, we will not have a country left. Pelosi Claims Trump Should Postpone SOTU Because of Shutdown — but Here’s What’s Really Going On

Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to postpone his State of the Union address or deliver it in writing as long as the government remains shut down.

Pelosi claimed in her letter that due to the shutdown, Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service will be unable to provide adequate security during his address.

“Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th,” Pelosi wrote.

This seems like a cover for ulterior motives. If security on Capitol Hill is good enough for Congress to meet daily and Trump to meet with members of Congress safely, it should be good enough for the State of the Union address. It’s more likely Pelosi is trying to deprive President Trump of the national spotlight to make his case for border security and attack the Democrats while the country watches.

President Trump’s Oval Office address on border security was far stronger than the Democratic response. Pelosi knows that Trump has the better case in this shutdown fight, with law enforcement agencies taking the president’s side and some Democrats beginning to crack.

Pelosi isn’t really worried about security. She’s afraid if Trump gives a State of the Union address while the government is still shut down, his speech will win the shutdown argument and expose Democrats as hypocrites and obstructionists. Pence Reveals the Likelihood of Trump Caving to Dems

Tuesday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin was joined by Vice President Mike Pence to discuss the government shutdown and the president’s continuing fight to secure the southern border by building a wall.

Pence shared with Levin that the Democrats in Congress are still refusing to compromise and work with the president to secure the border.

“Last week — one anecdote — we were in the Situation Room. The president looks at Speaker Pelosi, and he said, ‘Okay, here’s the deal. If I gave you everything you wanted, I funded most of what remains of the government, and I gave you 30 days to negotiate on Homeland Security’s budget, would you give me border security and a wall?’ She said, ‘No.’ The president said, ‘Goodbye.’ So we know how this story ends. That’s why the president is not budging; he’s not moving,” Pence said.

“Democrats refuse to negotiate. They refuse to even discuss a way forward, and the American people deserve better. That’s why I remember what Alexander Hamilton said in his time, to a foreign diplomat who was visiting the Congress. And he thought it was kind of loud and raucous on the House floor, and apparently Alexander Hamilton said, famously, ‘Here, sir, the people govern.’ And your listeners, millions of listeners all across the country, ought to know: This is the moment. Now’s the time. We have a president who’s willing to stand strong to achieve real border security, to build a wall. We just need the American people to let their voice be heard. Tell the Congress we want action,” Pence said.

Levin pointed out that though many of the Democrats in Congress represent the sanctuary city mentality, the majority of the country wants to secure the border: “We’re a country. Secure the border, keep the criminals out, figure out who’s trying to get in here, keep the drugs out of here. That’s common sense,” Levin said.

“We have a saying out in farm country that is, ‘Good fences make good neighbors,’” Pence responded. “A strong border will improve the lives, the security of the American people. … If we have that steel barrier on the southern border, we reform our asylum laws, we redouble our commitment to border security, the human traffickers and the cartels that take cash to exploit these vulnerable families in Central America and entice them to make the long and dangerous journey, they won’t have the ability to make that argument the way they can make it today.” (For more from the author of “Pence Reveals the Likelihood of Trump Caving” please click HERE)
