IG Report Shows James Comey Lied About Why He Publicized New Clinton Emails

A few hours into a House committee hearing Tuesday, Rep. Eric Swalwell asked Inspector General Michael Horowitz: “Do you agree that there is no evidence Jim Comey lied to you in your investigation?” . . .

Swalwell’s line of questioning was intended to summarize what the IG didn’t find—examples of improper prosecutorial decisions based on political biases revealed in text messages; definitive evidence that Hillary Clinton was guilty of a crime; or evidence that Comey leaked the existence of the Russia investigation—to set up his final question, which was, “Mr. Horowitz, do you think it’s time to move on past the Hillary Clinton emails?”

While Horowitz deflected that decision to Congress, his direct answer whether Comey lied was curious, in that his conclusion conflicts with facts and testimony detailed in his own report. Perhaps the most controversial issue the report examined was Comey’s late-October decision to notify Congress of new evidence that “may be pertinent” to the Clinton email investigation: thousands of Clinton emails found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. . .

Comey defended his decision to submit the letter, on purely ethical grounds. In his book and all of his subsequent interviews, he described his dilemma as a binary decision between “speak” and “conceal,” repeatedly and consistently declaring that he chose the “speak” option to avoid the “catastrophic” and “corrosive” ramifications to the FBI and DoJ that would come with a decision to “conceal.”

Absent from this explanation is any mention of leaks. Not a word. It was widely reported at the time, and since, that Comey was responding to the threat that FBI agents in New York were beginning to leak elements of the story to the media. It was widely believed at FBI HQ and the DoJ that it was simply a matter of time before the press would report that the FBI was sitting on explosive new evidence in the Clinton email investigation, and Comey’s FBI was slow-walking the investigation to avoid re-opening the investigation. Bombshell Report: Lynch Promised Clinton She Wouldn’t Let FBI ‘Go Too Far’ With Investigation

. . .The inspector general’s report on the FBI’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server when she was secretary of state has already documented just how riddled the bureau was with bias against Donald Trump when he was the Republican candidate for president. . .

In a Twitter post last week, Paul Sperry, who has written extensively about the FBI in columns published by the New York Post, hinted that Inspector General Michael Horowitz could have solid grounds to show “obstruction” in the Clinton email case – by none other than former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

. . .

Sperry linked to one of his own columns in the Post from July 2017 that described a document indicating that Lynch had assured Clinton’s presidential campaign that she would make sure the FBI did not “go too far” in its investigation of the email case. . .

But if the IG report really does contain proof that Lynch put a limit on the FBI’s investigation to benefit the woman most of the political world expected to be elected president of the United States in November 2016, it puts things in a different light.

Lynch’s now infamous meeting with former President Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac in Arizona on June 27, 2016, has never been adequately explained. The then-attorney general’s story that the two had crossed paths by accident never passed the laugh test. GETTING NASTY: Homeland Security Official Warned With Decapitated Animal on His Porch

According to an official who is familiar with recent threats directed against the Department of Homeland Security, the department determined that there is now a “heightened threat against DHS employees.” The official said roughly two dozen threats have been made in the last few days.

One specific example: a senior DHS official living in the Washington, D.C. area found a burnt and decapitated animal on his front porch.

On Saturday, Claire Grady, acting deputy secretary of Homeland Security, wrote to employees, “This assessment is based on specific and credible threats that have been levied against certain DHS employees and a sharp increase in the overall number of general threats against DHS employees.” Her memo recommended not displaying work badges in public, being careful with public conversations and being circumspect on social networks. It also recommended DHS employees “always keep doors and windows locked” and “be aware of unexpected changes in and around your home.” (Read more from “Getting Nasty: Homeland Security Official Warned With Decapitated Animal on His Porch” HERE)

Betrayal: Michael Cohen Has ‘All the Tapes’ and ‘We’re Taking Trump Down Together,’ Says Tom Arnold

On the hunt for long-rumored and potentially damaging tapes featuring President Donald Trump, comedian Tom Arnold has reached the man who for years worked to make such things disappear. Now, Arnold suggested, the president’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen is ready to join forces to take his former boss “down.”

Arnold has been working on a show for Vice called The Hunt for the Trump Tapes, in which he combines his Hollywood contacts and comedic talents “to dig for evidence on Trump’s most incriminating moments,” the media company said when announcing the show last month. . .

“We’ve been on the other side of the table, and now we’re on the same side,” Arnold told NBC News Friday. “It’s on! I hope he [Trump] sees the picture of me and Michael Cohen and it haunts his dreams.” . . .

He continued: ”I say to Michael, ‘Guess what? We’re taking Trump down together, and he’s so tired he’s like, ‘OK,’ and his wife is like, ‘OK, f*** Trump.'”

Cohen’s loyalty to the president has been questioned in recent weeks after his home, office and hotel room were raided by the FBI in April. Among the records seized were reportedly those pertaining to his payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 election, in order to keep her quiet over an alleged affair with Trump. U.S. Navy Reportedly Drafting Plans to House up to 25,000 Illegal Alien Families, but Consider the Source…

The US Navy is reportedly drafting plans to house up to 25,000 people in furtherance of the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy toward illegal immigration.

Amid the media-generated hysteria last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to keep illegal immigrant families together, but will continue to hold those who enter the country illegally accountable to US law, thus the manufactured outrage continuing from the left, who deceptively advocate for open borders. . .

The story was first reported by Time Magazine, which ran with — and stands by — a deceptive cover of President Trump towering over a crying illegal immigrant child — the problem being that the child was never separated from her mother, and had only been put down for a few seconds while a border patrol agent frisked the woman. . .

The irony here is that Democrats are sure to complain about the conditions of the camps, even as they look past the perils of migrants trekking to the southern border as a result of our history of lax enforcement of immigration laws, with hundreds dying along the way and women so routinely raped that parents give their daughters birth control pills to prevent them getting pregnant,

It’s important to note that the Navy has not been asked to provide housing for illegal immigrants as of yet. (Read more from “U.S. Navy Reportedly Drafting Plans to House up to 25,000 Illegal Alien Families, but Consider the Source…” HERE)

Hypocrisy: De Blasio Calls for Action With Immigration, Enraged When Illegals Take Refuge in NYC

Outrage from the left over separating children from the lawbreaking adults who drag them across the border may have cooled after President Donald Trump signed an order rolling back the practice, but there is still plenty of frustration to go around.

There are also countless questions. One of more suprising of them is coming from New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who wants to know: What are migrants doing in my city? . . .

On Wednesday, De Blasio spoke outside Cayuga Centers in Harlem, a social services agency that has been contracted by the government to provide assistance to unaccompanied minors who cross the border. Cayuga helps place migrant children into temporary foster care and runs programs for them during the day. . .

Normally, this would be the kind of do-good agency that liberals would celebrate — but these aren’t normal times. Bizarrely, De Blasio is apparently outraged that these refugees are being given, well, refuge.

“Mr. de Blasio said the federal government would not tell city officials exactly how many children were sent to New York or where they were being housed,” reported The New York Times. “The office of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said the state also did not know the exact number.” (Read more from “Hypocrisy: De Blasio Calls for Action With Immigration, Enraged When Illegals Take Refuge in NYC” HERE)

Maxine Waters: Harass Trump Officials at Gas Stations, Restaurants, and Shopping Malls

On Saturday night, California Congresswoman Maxine Waters encouraged the type of recent protests against President Trump as seen in several Washington, DC and Virginia area restaurants, saying that she has “no sympathy” for those who serve in the administration and that the public should “turn on them” and “absolutely harass” White House officials while they are doing normal every day activities.

Rep. Waters (D-CA) has called for President Trump’s impeachment in the past, even leading chants at rallies saying, “Impeach 45! Impeach 45!”. Yesterday, “Auntie Maxine”, as she is affectionately known amongst her fans, added her name to a growing list of Democratic officials who are calling for Department of Homeland Security Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen to resign due to her handling of the child-migrant crisis at the US-Mexican border.

Rep. Waters then went further, adding that members of the Trump administration who continue to serve and defend the president should be harangued at gas stations, restaurants, and while shopping at department stores. “They know what they are doing is wrong,” said Rep. Waters. And for that, the public should ridicule and protest them every chance they get, according to the California congresswoman. The scrutiny should be so bad that it forces officials such as Sec. Nielsen to “tell the President ‘No, this is wrong. I can’t hang with you. This is unconscionable. We can’t keep doing this to children,” she adds.

Amazon: ICE Contract Is Like Assisting Hitler With the Holocaust

Amazon employees sent an open letter to CEO Jeff Bezos Friday protesting the company’s contract with Immigration and Customs Enforce (ICE), comparing it to IBM’s contract with Adolf Hitler during the second world war.

“As ethically concerned Amazonians, we demand a choice in what we build, and a say in how it is used. We learn from history, and we understand how IBM’s systems were employed in the 1940s to help Hitler,” the letter states. “IBM did not take responsibility then, and by the time their role was understood, it was too late. We will not let that happen again. The time to act is now.”

Holocaust experts claim that IBM directly supplied the Nazis with technology that assisted operating the Auschwitz and Treblinka concentration camps, The Independent reports.

The employees called on the company to “stop selling facial recognition services to law enforcement” and “stop providing infrastructure to Palantir and any other Amazon partners who enable ICE.” . . .

“Once a dangerous surveillance system like this is turned against the public, the harm can’t be undone. Particularly in the current political climate, we need to stop supercharged surveillance before it is used to track protesters, target immigrants and spy on entire neighborhoods. We’re blowing the whistle before it’s too late,” Nicole Ozer, technology and civil liberties director for the ACLU of California, said in a statement provided to TheDCNF in May. New Poll: Guess Who the Majority of Voters Blame for Family Separation at the Border? The Results Are Surprising

By Townhall. . .According to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, the majority of voters are holding illegal aliens accountable for the current separation crisis, not Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement or President Trump (bolding is mine).

Most voters blame the parents of the separated children at the border for the latest illegal immigration crisis, not the federal government.

When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54% of Likely U.S. Voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 35% believe the federal government.

To help understand the current political debate over the children issue, a closer look shows that 82% of Republicans and 56% of voters not affiliated with either major political party feel the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. But 60% of Democrats say the government is more to blame for enforcing the law.

. . .

In the meantime, Congress is working on a number of immigration bills in an attempt to fix the problem. The House is expected to take a vote Thursday, with moderate and conservative Republicans split on a number of illegal immigration issues. House Republicans Cancel Immigration Votes in Embarrassing Setback

By Washington Times. Staring at a certain defeat, House Republicans canceled votes on their immigration compromise Thursday — an embarrassing setback for leaders who thought they had finally been able to wrangle some unanimity on an issue that has bedeviled them for years.

Lawmakers emerged from a closed-door evening meeting to say their new goal is a vote sometime next week, after they try to make tweaks to win over conservatives while keeping moderates on board.

The vote on the “moderate” compromise bill was postponed just hours after a more conservative bill failed in the House by a 231-193 vote. More than three dozen Republicans joined Democrats to kill the legislation.

Worried about a twin rejection on the same day, Republican leaders decided on a cooling-off period. (Read more from “House Republicans Cancel Immigration Votes in Embarrassing Setback” HERE)

U.S. Military Pilots Hit by Mysterious Lasers

American military personnel piloting aircraft over the Pacific Ocean have been targeted in a series of apparent attacks reminiscent of previous, more serious Chinese military operations.

According to The Wall Street Journal, nearly two dozen incidents in recent months share the same troubling details.

Lasers originating from the East China Sea and surrounding areas were aimed at the aircraft, according to multiple U.S. military sources. The first known incident was in September and the latest came in recent weeks.

Experts believe additional attacks likely occurred but went unreported by the pilots involved.

Though still a major security issue, officials say the lasers used did not appear to be military grade. Instead, they were believed to be the type of commercial laser pointer readily available in stores and online.

Based on the common civilian and military uses of the area, the U.S. has not confirmed if some or all of the attacks were coordinated by Chinese personnel. The lasers appeared to have been based on fishing vessels, some of which were based in China.

The recently announced laser threat comes after reports of similar tactics being used on a larger scale by Chinese military forces based in East Africa.

Earlier this year, four reported incidents in Djibouti included lasers being directed at American pilots.

In three of those cases, the lasers being used were believed to be military-grade devices. The fourth appeared to have been a commercial product.

The source of the three military-grade laser attacks was identified as an area of a Chinese military base built in recent years near an existing U.S. base. American troops stationed there work on sensitive technology and operations, including drones.

Two pilots reported a range of effects after a laser was pointed into their aircraft as they flew over Djibouti this spring.

Among their reported symptoms were dizziness and impaired vision. The U.S. pilots reported seeing “rings” in their field of vision after the incident.

Even commercially available laser pointers can have serious negative consequences, including temporarily blinding pilots, and can result in criminal charges against individuals misusing the products.

While American officials do not consider the latest incidents near the East China Sea to be high-level threats, they are concerning — especially in the wake of reports that China had engaged in a different type of sensory attack against Americans.

Business Insider cited a statement by China’s Defense Ministry, which said it had “already refuted the untrue criticisms via official channels.”

Earlier this month, the U.S. government issued a warning to Americans living in China amid a spike in unexplained medical symptoms.

The U.S. Department of State confirmed “a number of individuals” were flown out of China and back to the U.S. for treatment after experiencing the mystery illness.

“Medical professionals will continue to conduct full evaluations to determine the cause of the reported symptoms and whether the findings are consistent with those noted in previously affected government personnel or possibly completely unrelated,” said State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert at the time.
