Glenn Beck: Ted Cruz ‘Anointed for This Time,’ Walks Back Blast of Christians Supporting Trump

Chastened by negative public reaction to his recent comments that “real Christians” don’t support Donald Trump and “all throughout the South the Evangelicals are not listening to their God,” radio talk show host Glenn Beck is walking back his criticism of Christians who support the New York City billionaire and GOP frontrunner.

But now he’s claiming that Sen. Ted Cruz, whom he has endorsed for President, “was anointed for this time.”

On Friday, less than 24 hours after he proclaimed on his television program that “no real Christian says ‘I want that guy’” Donald Trump, Beck issued an apology in an article posted on his website.

“I’d like to apologize for any of the comments that I’ve made that offended anyone’s religious sensibilities or implied that I thought you weren’t good Christians,” Beck wrote in the article that appears to be an edited version from the transcript of his lengthy monologue on his radio program Friday.

“If that’s what I had said, but that’s not what I said,” he added as a qualifier to his apology. (Read more from “Glenn Beck: Ted Cruz ‘Anointed for This Time,’ Walks Back Blast of Christians Supporting Trump” HERE)

Mark Levin Just Revealed Surprising Reason GOP May Lose Election – It’s Not What You Think

Talk-show host Mark Levin just issued a dire prediction for the Republicans and their chances of winning the presidential election.

Levin believes it’s not Donald Trump’s mouth that will cost him the election, but rather, his Twitter account . . .

“As a matter of fact, I’m starting to think we’re not going to win. It’s actually been in the back of my mind for some time now,” Levin said. “I fear we’re going to get blown out, and part of it is tactics, and part of it quite frankly is Donald Trump’s tweeting problems.”

Levin is worried Trump is shooting himself in the foot. Adding there’s a sordid strangeness to Trump’s tweets Levin said, “He tweets like he has Tourette’s, like he’s obsessed. Nothing personal, but it gets crazier and crazier, and it’s turning off more and more people.”

Trump’s support among blue-collar workers remains strong, according to recent favorability statistics. But, as Levin pointed out, “These negative numbers are coming in big time. A negative view of Trump: 70 percent of women, 72 percent of millennials, 83 percent of blacks, 77 percent of Hispanics. Here you go, 68 percent of suburbanites.” (Read more from “Mark Levin Just Revealed Surprising Reason GOP May Lose Election – It’s Not What You Think” HERE)

The Inside Story of Donald Trump’s Strategy to Protect His Delegates

By Katherine Faulders and Ryan Struyk. As Donald Trump rolls through the political calendar, his campaign has already begun focusing on a new battle that may have a broader set of consequences — finding delegates who will be loyal to his cause at the Republican National Convention . . .

“You try to learn as much as you can about everybody and figure out what makes them tick, what it is they think is important,” Barry Bennett, a Trump Senior Adviser, told ABC’s Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl and ABC’s Political Director Rick Klein on ABC’s Powerhouse Politics podcast.

“We make sure of their ‘woo-ability.’ If they can be wooed they are going to get wooed and they are going to get to know Donald Trump,” he said . . .

Emails obtained by ABC News show the Trump campaign calling on supporters in Michigan to watch for precinct-level delegates who may defect to a rival candidate during a contested convention.

“Are they a true Donald Trump supporter?” an email to supporters asks. “Many impostors that are actually aligned with the establishment will emerge from the woodwork and try to throw off the process.” (Read more from “The Inside Story of Donald Trump’s Strategy to Protect His Delegates” HERE)

Republicans Sour on Way Election Process Is Working

By Frank Newport. Thirty percent of Americans say the presidential election process is working as it should, down from 37% in January. The decline is driven mainly by Republicans’ increasingly cynical views as the campaign season has progressed. The percentage of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who say the election process is working has fallen from 46% to 30% since January. Democrats’ and Democratic leaners’ views haven’t changed.

The latest update, based on interviewing conducted March 16-17, shows that Republicans and Democrats now have similarly low levels of belief that the election process is working properly, based on their views of the way the presidential campaign is being conducted. This situation differs from what Gallup found in January, when Republicans were much more positive. Since then, the GOP field has narrowed substantially from a large number of candidates to the three still in the race — Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich. And the lion’s share of attention is going to the controversial Trump, the clear front-runner at this point. By contrast, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have remained the two main Democratic candidates all year. (Read more from “Republicans Sour on Way Election Process Is Working” HERE)

GOP Congressman Suggests He Could Vote for Hillary Clinton

Republican Congressman Carlos Curbelo (Fla.) said Thursday he won’t ever support Donald Trump for president, and left the door open to voting for Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton instead.

“I think both Donald Trump and Mrs. Clinton are flawed candidates. If you look at the polls, the majority of Americans have negative views on both of them,” Curbelo told a CBS affiliate in Miami. “So I am going to wait and see what happens on our side. But I have already said I will not support Mr. Trump. That’s not a political decision; it is a moral decision.”

Asked point blank if that means he’d vote for Clinton over Trump if it came down to it, Curbelo kept it vague.

“Not necessarily,” he said. (Read more from “GOP Congressman Suggests He Could Vote for Hillary Clinton” HERE)

Near Misses Between Drones and Airplanes on the Rise in US, Says FAA

A report of drone sightings from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shows that despite a new registration scheme, near misses between unmanned and piloted aircraft in American are on the rise. Sightings by pilots and airport officials have steadily increased from less than one a day in 2014, to over 3.5 between August 2015 and January this year, many of them from commercial passenger aircraft.

In the most serious incident, the pilot of an American Airlines jet last September had to swerve to avoid a drone. On September 13, flight 475 took off from Atlanta, Georgia en route to Charlotte, North Carolina. It was climbing to 3,500 ft when the pilot of the Airbus had to take evasive action to avoid a collision with an unidentified unmanned aerial system (UAS) or drone. The pilot told the FAA that he or she “just missed’ the drone.

In another incident in November, a helicopter leaving St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri encountered a black and grey drone 1,400 ft above a city centre park. The pilot of the air ambulance reported that he had to make a steep banking turn to avoid the UAS, passing it at less than 100 feet. There were no patients on board, and no reports of any injuries or damage.

In both cases, local law enforcement was notified but no arrests seem to have been made.

Of the 582 sightings of drones reported to the FAA between August and January, there were two other instances where pilots were forced to take evasive action. In October, a helicopter pilot approaching Miami airport had to swerve after a drone approached to within 150 feet. Ben Carson Reveals the Crucial Advice He’s Giving Trump – It May Put Him Over the Top

Former Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson has received criticism for his decision to endorse front-runner Donald Trump.

Carson asserts he has been able to convince Trump — at least in flashes — to act more presidential.

In a phone inverview Friday, Carson said, “I’ve had talks about being presidential, about toning it down a bit, appealing to a broader group of people. You did notice that he wasn’t nearly as caustic in the last debate. People appreciated that. It’s a matter of cultivating and capitalizing on that.”

Following an incident earlier this week, when Trump attacked Cruz for distributing a racy photo of Melania, Carson conceded Trump’s instincts could not be permanently contained.

This incident resulted in Trump retweeting an unfavorable photo of Heidi Cruz and his threat to “spill the beans.” Cruz responded, calling Trump a “sniveling coward” and saying he was going to beat Trump for the nomination.

Calling the incident a broader craving for public gladiatorial combat among politicians, Carson admitted to dealing with the same issues while he was in the race, saying, “We have all these serious things. Nobody wanted to hear that. We want to hear juicy stuff … Maybe it’s just human nature.” (Read more from “Ben Carson Reveals the Crucial Advice He’s Giving Trump – It May Put Him Over the Top” HERE)

Now Members of GOP Establishment Saying They’re Open to Support Hillary If Trump Is the Nominee

Members of the GOP foreign policy establishment are open to supporting Ted Cruz or even Hillary Clinton for president if that’s what it takes to prevent Donald Trump from becoming commander in chief.

In interviews with The Hill, prominent Republicans who signed a scathing open letter denouncing Trump said they aren’t wavering from their opposition to him.

“What’s happening is you have a lot of people who are desperate to get anybody in there other than Trump. … People are going to go for Cruz, because at the end of the day they think he’s considerably less bad than Trump,” said Eliot A. Cohen, a former adviser to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) who also served in the George W. Bush administration.

Cohen, along with Bryan McGrath, organized an open letter opposing Trump that was signed by more than 120 members of the Republican foreign policy establishment. The letter declared that Trump is unfit to be president because his views of American power are “wildly inconsistent and unmoored in principle” . . .

Support among the group appears to be shifting to Cruz, especially now that the Texas senator has won endorsements from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Revealed: Something Sinister About Trump Critics in the GOP That Will SHOCK Many Republicans

By Fred Maxwell. Some prominent Republicans may be willing to go to great lengths to ensure Donald Trump does not become the next Commander in Chief.

A letter crafted by Eliot A. Cohen, former adviser to Sen. Marco Rubio, and Bryan McGrath calls Trump unfit to be president due to his views of American power, which are referred to as “wildly inconsistent and unmoored in principle,” the Hill reports.

The letter was signed by over 120 members of the GOP foreign policy establishment.

The Hill reached out to 13 signers of the letter and were contacted by 11 of them.

Some members of the group appear to be showing support for Sen. Ted Cruz, who has been endorsed by FL. Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Speaking of Trump, McGrath calls him “a caricature of classless wealth.” He goes on to say, “Donald Trump is not a Republican, he is a caricature of the Ugly American.” (Read more from “Revealed: Something Sinister About Trump Critics in the GOP That Will SHOCK Many Republicans” HERE)

Donald Trump Viewed More Unfavorably Than Congress, GOP

By AOL. The turbulence the Republican party is currently experiencing does not look like it’s going to end or even let up anytime soon. New polls report the party’s front-runner is the most unfavorable candidate among American voters.

A Bloomberg poll, conducted by Selzer & Co., released Tuesday reveals the one thing American voters disapprove of more than the Republican party and even Congress — Donald J. Trump.

According to the poll, 53 percent of Americans view Trump “very unfavorably.” That’s half of the United States, as opposed to only a third of voters who view Congress in the same light. (Read more from “Donald Trump Viewed More Unfavorably Than Congress, GOP” HERE)

Giuliani Suggests Hillary ‘Founding Member of ISIS’

Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City, slammed Hillary Clinton during a recent Fox News broadcast, telling host Bill O’Reilly and the millions of watchers the former secretary of State is a big reason why ISIS exists.

“I mean, Hillary Clinton could be considered a founding member of ISIS,” he said, the Hill reported.

He said Clinton had ample opportunity to deal with the terror group during her State Department tenure, but she refused and will instead go down in history as “part of an administration that withdrew from Iraq,” he said.

“By being part of an administration that let Maliki run Iraq … into the ground,” Giuliani said, the Hill reported, “[she] forced the Shiites to make a choice, by not intervening in Syria in the proper time.”

O’Reilly suggested Clinton wasn’t really that culpable for the rise of ISIS because she never held the power to force President Obama to do something he didn’t want to do. But Giuliani said it’s such politicking that makes her a poor choice for president. (Read more from “Giuliani Suggests Hillary ‘Founding Member of ISIS'” HERE)

After Paul Ryan Attacked Trump, He Immediately Fired Back in a Way Ryan NEVER Expected

A day after House Speaker Paul Ryan appeared to call out Donald Trump for “ugliness” on the campaign trail, the GOP front-runner’s campaign announced that its first Wisconsin rally will be held in Ryan’s hometown.

The Trump rally is slated for Tuesday afternoon in Janesville in southern Wisconsin.

In a speech to congressional interns Wednesday, Ryan said, “When passions flair, ugliness is sometimes inevitable, but we shouldn’t accept ugliness as the norm.”

“If someone has a bad idea, we tell them why our idea is better. We don’t insult them into agreeing with us,” he added.

Ryan’s remarks came a day after Trump threatened Sen. Ted Cruz’s wife via Twitter in response to an ad run by a pro-Cruz super PAC, which included a suggestive modeling picture of the billionaire businessman’s wife . . .

The three remaining candidates face off in the April 5 Wisconsin primary with 42 delegates up for grabs. The most recent polling has the race neck-and-neck with Cruz at 36 percent, Trump at 35 and Gov. John Kasich at 19 percent.
