Draconian New Transgender Guidelines for NY City

Welcome to your future, America. If New York City is at the forefront of trendsetting social science experiments – and it often is – you are in trouble unless you bow to political correctness and refer to transgendered people using the proper pronoun.

That’s right. You can now be charged with discrimination under New York City law if you refer to a female transgender as “him” or “Mr.”

New York City has warned landlords, employers and businesses they could be running afoul of the law by purposely calling a transgender woman “him” or “Mr.” when she prefers a female title and pronoun, or by barring her from using a women’s restroom.

New guidelines detail the legal protections of transgender and gender-nonconforming New Yorkers and what constitutes discrimination under the city’s Human Rights Law, the New York City Commission on Human Rights said on Monday.

Some 25,000 transgender and gender non-conforming people live in New York City, where discrimination based on gender identity and expression has been illegal since 2002.

Fox News Just Announced a GOP Debate Rule Tweak That Could Be a Total Game Changer

The next prime-time Republican presidential debate could include only six candidates, based upon the rules the Fox Business Network has established for the Jan. 14 event.

Based upon the rules Fox Business released Tuesday, assuming no major changes in the current polls, the main debate would be limited to Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; Ben Carson; Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.; N.J. Gov. Chris Christie and former Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and Carly Fiorina would move from the main stage to the “undercard.”

To qualify for the prime-time debate, Fox Business said candidates must do one of three things:

Place in the top six nationally, based on an average of the five most recent national polls recognized by Fox News.

Place in the top five in Iowa, based on an average of the five most recent polls recognized by Fox News.

Place in the top five in New Hampshire based on an average of the five most recent polls recognized by Fox News . . .

“It’s long past time that those who’ve failed to do something with these opportunities did the honorable thing and, if not quit the race entirely, at least exit the debate stage so that the actual contenders aren’t left begging for time amid Kasich’s karate-chop laden explainers or Paul’s dogged attempts to reshape the GOP base in his image,” wrote Jason Linkins. Obama Just Made This Disgraceful Comment About Our Military – It Will Outrage You

President Barack Obama, who is vacationing in Hawaii, released a pre-Christmas statement yesterday, celebrating the fifth anniversary of his having signed legislation that allows openly homosexual, lesbian and bisexual individuals to serve in the U.S. military.

“Today, Americans can serve the country they love no matter who they love, and openly gay, lesbian and bisexual men and women in uniform make our military stronger and America safer,” said the president.

Here is President Obama’s full statement:

Five years ago today, I signed a bipartisan bill repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’–extending our country’s promise of equality to those who protect it every day. Today, Americans can serve the country they love no matter who they love, and openly gay, lesbian and bisexual men and women in uniform make our military stronger and America safer.

Since the repeal of DADT, I’ve received hundreds of letters from service members who can now serve their country openly. They come from every corner of America and from military bases around the world. And their stories are a powerful reminder of how much has changed over the past five years. Because of all we’ve accomplished together, a grieving widow can now receive her wife’s flag at her funeral. A spouse can now be part of his husband’s promotion ceremony. One person told me he had been torn between his desire to serve his country and his longing to live life openly as a gay man. He no longer is forced to make that choice. And just last summer, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.

Trump Dominates GOP Field Heading into 2016

Donald Trump seems set to end 2015 as the dominant force in the race for next year’s Republican nomination for president, with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz now a clear — yet distant — second after a strong debate performance, a new CNN/ORC poll released on Wednesday has found.

Trump tops the field with 39%, according to the poll of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters. That’s more than double the share backing Cruz, who, at 18%, has inched up 2 points since the last CNN/ORC poll, which was taken in late November.

Trump has been a constant atop the polls since his ascent to the lead in July, and this new poll marks the first time Cruz stands significantly apart from the other candidates vying for the nomination. Behind those two, Ben Carson and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio have each slipped a few points and now stand tied at 10% . . .

A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday found a tighter race between Trump and Cruz, a finding that clashes with most other recent polling on the national race. It is one of only two live interviewer national polls released since Thanksgiving that found Trump with a lead smaller than 10 points. Across the 10 polls released during that time, Trump’s lead over Cruz averages 16 points.

The CNN/ORC poll was conducted after the Republican debate hosted by CNN and Facebook in Las Vegas on December 15. Among those Republicans who say they watched, 33% say Trump did the best job in the debate, 28% Cruz, 13% Rubio. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie follows with 6%. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, widely seen as needing a strong debate performance to boost his standing in the polls, was rated best by just 1% of debate watchers. Rand Paul: I Won’t Do an Undercard Debate

Rand Paul will not accept being relegated to an undercard debate and is willing to protest, the Republican presidential candidate said Wednesday.

“I won’t participate in any kind of second-tier debate,” Paul declared in a radio interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade.

Paul talked up his campaign, touting the size of his operation in Iowa and the millions of dollars he’s raised. “Doesn’t mean I’m gonna win, but I think without question we have a first-tier campaign and we just can’t accept the designation of being artificially told that we don’t have a chance with three weeks to go,” he said, alleging that downgrading a candidate to a secondary debate at this point would “destroy the campaign.” “So we won’t stand for it and we will protest any such designation.”

The Kentucky senator was responding to the news that only six candidates are likely to make Fox Business Network’s main debate stage in South Carolina on Jan. 14. According to the debate criteria and current poll numbers — the main debate will feature the top six candidates based on national polling, and the top five based on an average of Iowa and New Hampshire polls — Paul, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina could be relegated to the happy hour debate . . .

Paul maintained he could make the big stage. He’s just 0.3 points below the criteria, he said, and it would be illogical to exclude someone who’s within the margin of error. “But, frankly, if we beat Chris Christie by 0.3 and he’s excluded, as much as I disagree with him politically I think that’s a mistake,” Paul said. “The same way with Fiorina. Union Activists Hired ‘Serial Sexual Harasser’ to Condemn Sexual Harassment

The liberal activist ousted from his own firm in the wake of sexual abuse allegations once headed a public pressure campaign against sexual harassment.

Trevor Fitzgibbon was forced to shut down the public relations firm he founded after a group of former female employees went public with allegations of repeated incidences of sexual harassment and abuse. Fitzgibbon Media led a public relations blitz from the Restaurant Opportunities Center-United, a union-funded group that has been active in pushes for dramatic minimum wage hikes. The organization has argued that the minimum wage should be raised because workers who rely on tips are more likely to be subject to flirting and other forms of sexual harassment on the job.

The co-founder of the group, Saru Jayaraman, alleged that 90 percent of all restaurant workers face sexual harassment, telling USA Today that “women who have to live off of tips are subjected to the worst kind of sexual harassment.” Women who had to live off paychecks signed by Fitzgibbon say that they also had to deal with the worst kind of sexual harassment.

“Staffers reported over a half dozen incidents of sexual harassment and at least two involving sexual assault committed by Trevor FitzGibbon against his own employees,” a group of employees told the Huffington Post, which broke the story. The firm folded within a day of publication.

Fitzgibbon had previously been accused of sexual harassment at a previous job, according to the report. The story sparked public outcry from the leftwing because Fitzgibbon retained the radical abortionist group NARAL as a client. Franklin Graham Quits Republican Party

No Word from Golfing Obama After Deadliest Attack on US Troops in Afghanistan in 3 Years

Responding to the deadliest attack against U.S. forces in Afghanistan in more than three years, the White House issued a statement Monday saying its “thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and their loved ones.”

“We express our deepest condolences to the families of the six U.S. service members killed and to all of those injured in today’s Taliban attack near Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan,” said the statement, issued by White House press secretary Josh Earnest.

There was no statement from President Obama, who is vacationing in Hawaii with his family. Obama played golf on Monday afternoon at the Mid-Pacific Country Club, after a morning workout at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

“Obama attempted a chip shot of about 40 feet and made it into the hole,” an AP report stated at the end of the afternoon’s golf. “He reacted by dropping his wedge and raising his hat and arms into the air. He then pointed his finger at the media and tipped his hat and waved toward the gallery watching him from the road.”

According to Operation Resolute Support public affairs office, the suicide bombing that killed six American troops at Bagram, the largest U.S. base in the country, occurred at around 1:30 PM on Monday – around 4 AM Monday in Washington, and 11 PM Sunday night in Honolulu. Virginia Will No Longer Recognize Concealed-Carry Permits Issued in 25 Other States

As the Obama administration mulls the possibility of gun control by executive fiat, the Commonwealth of Virginia announced on Tuesday that it will no longer recognize concealed-carry permits from 25 states whose qualifications fall short of Virginia’s safety standards.

“Virginia, and nearly every other state in the country, have recognized that carrying a concealed handgun is a significant responsibility that should be extended only to those who have gone through a process to prove a level of competency and responsibility,” Attorney General Mark Herring said in a news release.

Herring said the standards set by Virginia “should be applied evenly, consistently, and fairly to anyone who wants to lawfully conceal a handgun in Virginia.”

After Virginia State Police conducted an audit of other states’ laws and safeguards, the commonwealth announced it is revoking concealed handgun permit recognition (reciprocity) with 25 states effective February 1, 2016 because their laws are not sufficient to prevent someone who is disqualified under Virginia law from receiving a concealed handgun permit . . .

Virginia will no longer recognized concealed carry permits issued in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Poll Shows a Shocking Lack of Trust in the US Government That’s Fueling the Gun Debate

A poll published on Wednesday by ABC News showed that despite a rash of high-profile shootings, 53% of Americans reached in the survey opposed a ban on assault weapons.

That was the highest percentage in 20 years of the poll. Just 45% percent of respondents said they supported the ban.

The latest Democratic gun-control push in Congress is essentially a renewal of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban under President Bill Clinton . . .

Critics argue that an assault-weapon ban would be an ineffective fix to the mass-shooting problem, and that the definition of an “assault weapon” is superficial rather than substantive. But gun-control advocates argue that a ban would limit the mass-killing potential of shooters. . .

ABC’s polling data showed that just 22% of respondents felt confident in the government’s ability to protect them from lone-wolf shooters, such as Charleston’s Dylann Roof, or Adam Lanza of Sandy Hook. In contrast, 77% percent of respondents said they felt the government cannot protect them.
