Bombastic businessman Donald Trump has once again surged ahead of his opponents for the Republican presidential nomination, according to a new national Quinnipiac poll.
Trump wins the support of 27 percent of Republican voters in this poll, while Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida comes in second place with 17 percent. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who was once in the lead in some polls, now earns 16 percent, as does Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush garners 5 percent support, while no other GOP candidate tops 3 percent. Eight percent of Republican voters surveyed said they are undecided.
In a national Quinnipiac poll released a month ago, Trump and Carson were in a virtual tie.
“It doesn’t seem to matter what he says or who he offends, whether the facts are contested or the ‘political correctness’ is challenged, Donald Trump seems to be wearing Kevlar,” Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a statement. “The GOP, 11 months from the election, has to be thinking, ‘This could be the guy.'”
While Trump has a commanding lead, he remains controversial. As many as 26 percent of Republican voters in the survey say they would “definitely not support” Trump. Bush also faces resistance, with 21 percent saying they would definitely not support the former governor. They were a young father of six and the cousin of an NFL player, a passionate defender of Israel who enjoyed debates and a community worker who dressed up as Santa Claus, some 14 victims in all, representing a tapestry of the multicultural American family, all gathered for what seemed the safest of occasions: a holiday party.
The San Bernardino, Calif. Sheriff’s Department late Thursday released the names of those who died Wednesday night when a heavily armed man and woman burst into the room where they were enjoying a county health department banquet and opened fire. The male gunman, Syed Farook, presumably knew at least some of those he mowed down since he worked for the same department. The New York Post even reported that colleagues there had thrown him a baby shower earlier this year.
The victims ranged in age from 26-60 and included eight men and six women.
The list of fatalities as provided by the Sheriff’s Department:

By Saeed Ahmed. Police say they’ve identified the couple who massacred 14 people at a holiday party in San Bernardino, California, and while the killers’ specific motives remain unclear, sources Thursday said the husband was in touch with terrorists and may have had workplace grievances.
Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, who were killed Wednesday in a shootout with police, committed the deadliest U.S. mass shooting since the December 2012 rampage at Sandy Hook, authorities say.
Here is what we know about them: . . .
Farook, an American citizen, was an environmental health specialist with the San Bernardino County health department, which was hosting the holiday party at the Inland Regional Center where the attack took place . . .
On Thursday, law enforcement officials told CNN that Farook had been in touch via phone and social media with more than one international terrorism subject whom the FBI was investigating. (Read more from “Who Were California Shooters Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik?” HERE)

California Shooter Wrote of Spending His Free Time at Mosque and ‘Memorizing the Quran’
By Chuck Ross. Syed Rizwan Farook was heavily involved in his local mosque and focused his energies on memorizing the Quran, he wrote in a short-lived dating profile in 2013.
“I spend much of my free time in the masjid,” Farook, then 28, wrote on his profile for the dating site, BestMuslim.com. He also enjoyed “memorizing the quran and learning more about the religion,” he added.
Farook and his wife, 27-year-old Tashfeen Hakim, killed 14 people at a holiday party being held for county workers at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, Cal. on Wednesday. Farook worked as a health inspector for the county and had been at the party before he and Hakim began their attack.
The couple was killed during a shootout with police later on Wednesday. They had four guns, investigators have said. And though authorities have not officially classified the attack as terrorism, more evidence is pointing in that direction.
Farook reportedly had contact with known terrorists in the Middle East. He has also traveled to the Middle East and to Pakistan multiple times. It has also been reported that Farook viewed ISIS propaganda online. Investigators found a heavy arsenal of guns, ammunition and pipe bombs at their house in Redlands, Cal. Obama’s ICE Director, Sarah Saldaña, admitted to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday that she is derelict in her primary job of deporting illegal aliens, including criminal aliens, from the country.
Despite the fact ICE’s budget for removals has increased from $2.6 billion in 2011 to $3.4 billion and they are privy to more resources and technology than ever before, deportations have plummeted by almost two thirds from 200,000 to 70,000. What’s worse, the deportation of criminal aliens dropped from 150,000 to just 63,000.
There you have it. As Jessica Vaughn presented before the committee in painstaking detail, while overall deportations dropped dramatically, the decline in deportations of criminal aliens has been breathtaking. So the entire rationale for Obama’s amnesty and suspension of deportations – to focus on criminal aliens – has been proven false beyond a shadow of a doubt.
What was Saldaña left to say?
First she attempted to blame the decline in deportations on an overall decline in illegal immigration across the border. The problem is that the Census has picked up on a massive surge over the past few years, following the post-recession decline in illegal immigration from 2009-2013. Moreover, as the New York Times reports, the surge in illegal crossings is stronger than ever. And the fact that this administration has released hundreds of thousands of criminal aliens over the past few years demonstrates that the reduction in deportation is not the result of a decline in the potential pool of deportable illegal aliens.
The excuse that they are lacking resources is absurd because ICE’s budget and access to high tech databases is more robust than ever.
Secondly, Saldaña attempted to say that deportation is not a good thing and a that following current law “is not practical and that is, quite frankly, not very smart.” The problem with this assertion, as Cruz noted, is that Bill Clinton, with much fewer assets in the field, deported 12.3 million immigrants during his presidency, almost four times the number of the Obama Administration.
Finally, the ICE Director attempted to blame the drop in deportations on the 2001 Zadvydas v Davis court decision, which limited ICE’s ability to hold illegal aliens whose home countries refuse to accept them back. While the Zadvydas case was definitely an egregious violation of the plenary power of Congress over immigration, using it as in excuse for suspending all deportations is a facial absurdity. The court ruling has been in place for 15 years. Why would it precipitate a decline in deportations only over the past few years? Further, even the court’s decision, which was decisively shredded by Scalia in his dissent, conceded that the government has the right to hold an alien in confinement “until it has been determined that there is no significant likelihood of removal in the reasonably foreseeable future.” Clearly, very few of those released by the Administration meet that threshold.
At the hearing, Senators Sessions and Cruz revealed the true magnitude of the criminal alien problem, the lack of deportations, and the existential threat of open borders. Consider the following information that was exposed by the senators and the witnesses at the hearing:
There are 929,684 illegal aliens present in this country who have been ordered deported but remain at large in our communities. It’s pretty hard to get a deportation order these days so if the number is that high for those who were ordered deported you can imagine how many potential security threats we don’t even know about.
Between the 179,027 criminal aliens ordered deported but remaining at large and the 194,791 convicted criminal aliens who have not yet been issued deportation orders, there are over 375,000 identified criminal aliens that have not been deported.
121 criminal aliens released by ICE between FY2010 and FY2014 committed homicides after their release.
Between FY 2009 and FY 2015, the Obama Administration has released 6,151 criminal aliens convicted of a sexual offense.
Now with the increased flow of middle easterners crossing our border and the massive number of middle easterners who come here on temporary visas or immigrant visas, does this information make you feel safe?
At the same time, Democrats refuse to implement a visa tracking system so we don’t even know all the people that have disappeared into our population. ABC News reported last year that DHS has lost track of 58,000 foreign students who have overstayed their visas, of which 6,000 presented a “heightened concern.” Keep in mind we admit over 150,000 foreign students from the Middle East, 60,000 from Saudi Arabia alone, every year.
Obama’s open border policies and refusal to deport even criminal aliens is perhaps the biggest existential threat to our security. (For more from the author of “Clinton Deported 4 Times as Many Illegal Aliens as Obama” please click HERE)

Marines with 2nd Transport Support Battalion are now more capable to handle a chemical weapons attack due to their completion of a chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear defense training exercise at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Dec. 1, 2015.
During the training, Marines put into practice skills they learned in classes about an active chemical threat and the proper protective equipment to decontaminate themselves in a hazardous situation.
Practicing self-decontamination procedures is vital to mission accomplishment because exposing Marines to CBRN agents could cause serious health risks.
“These Marines can go back to their units with this information and share the knowledge they learned with their unit,” said Cpl. Tanner Watson, a CBRN training instructor. “The knowledge these Marines pass on is something that applies to everyone. That’s why the training is so necessary. It saves lives” . . .
Educating Marines on the threats and chemical hazards they may be exposed to increases their readiness and ability to operate in hazardous environments. Marines need to know not only about the threats but how their gear can be utilized to function efficiently and save lives. (Read more from “Marines Prepare for Worst with CBRN Training Drills” HERE)

By Daniel Greenfield. The shooter has been named as Sayeed Farouk. His father described him as a religiously devout Muslim. “He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back.” Co-workers say that he “grew a beard and started to wear religious clothing. The long shirt that’s like a dress and the cap on his head.”
And at some point his “religiosity” took him down the familiar path of Jihad. . .
Obama and the media would like to make this story about “gun violence”. But guns don’t shoot themselves. There is a hand that pulls the trigger and a mind whose foul purposes that hand serves. . .
San Bernardino is home to what is described as a “growing Muslim population” and that growth comes with terrifying growing pains.
This latest attack appears to be one of them. (Read more about the Islamic connections to the California massacre HERE)

The Farooq Saeed’s Home Described as an “IED Factory”
By FoxNews.com. Law enforcement officials said late Wednesday they could not rule out terrorism as a possible motive. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force was aiding in the investigation.
A law enforcement source told Fox News that the couple were each carrying an AR-15 rifle and and a pistol when they were shot and killed by police after a brief chase in their black SUV about 2 miles from the initial shooting site. The source said the vehicle also contained so-called “rollout bags” with multiple pipe bombs, as well as additional ammunition. The couple also had GoPro cameras strapped to their body armor and wore tactical clothing, including vests stuffed with ammunition magazines.
“That’s a military tactic for a sustained fight,” the source told Fox News of the rollout bags.
In addition to the explosives found at the SUV, authorities discovered and detonated three pipe bombs late Wednesday at the Inland Regional Center, the complex where the initial shooting took place about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
Another source described a house in Redlands that was being searched in connection with the shooting as “an IED facility.” The source said investigators discovered multiple pipe bombs in the house, as well as small explosives that were strapped to remote-controlled cars. Early Reports of the California Massacre, Disturbing
By B. Christopher Agee. As more information trickles in regarding the search for as many as three suspects wanted in Wednesday morning’s mass shooting at a San Bernardino, Calif., nonprofit facility, reported details about the gear being used by the gunmen has added a new layer to the developing narrative.
CNN spoke to a law enforcement officer in the area and is reporting that “three suspects are believed to be armed with AK-47-type weapons” and “got into a black SUV and drove away.”
Authorities also reportedly found a package – which CNN’s source confirmed was “not normal” – at the scene. A robot equipped to handle the suspicious item is expected to be deployed to safely retrieve it.
SWAT team members and other federal and local authorities are combing the scene and surrounding buildings as of the latest reports available. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with any information about the incident to call immediately. In an interview with Boston talk radio host Jeff Kuhner, Republican Ted Cruz said that if he were elected president, he would “absolutely”appoint Donald Trump to build a giant wall on the U.S.-Mexican border.
“If you’re elected president of the United States, will you do what Donald Trump has pledged to do? Would a President Cruz build a wall along the entire southern border?” Kuhner asked. “And would you if you were president appoint Donald Trump to build that wall?”
Cruz laughed. “Absolutely yes on both fronts,” he responded. (Read more from “President Ted Cruz Would ‘Absolutely’ Appoint Donald Trump to Build Border Wall” HERE)
The nation’s top ranking military officer contradicted his commander-in-chief, while testifying on Tuesday before the House Services Committee.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford stated, “We have not contained ISIL currently.”
His answer to a question by Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., runs contrary to what Pres. Obama said last month in an interview with ABC News the day before the Nov. 13 Paris attacks.
“I don’t think they’re gaining strength. What is true is that from the start our goal has been first to contain, and we have contained them,” Obama told George Stephanopoulos. “They have not gained ground in Iraq. And in Syria, they’ll come in, they’ll leave, but you don’t see this systematic march by ISIL across the terrain.”
The White House’s Ben Rhodes–deputy national security adviser for strategic communication–clarified that the president meant that ISIS had been contained from geographic expansion. “They had been on the march in both Iraq and Syria for some time but starting a year ago, we were able to halt that expansion,” Rhodes said according to Fox News.
Forbes asked Dundford if ISIS has been contained at any time since 2010. The general responded that the terrorist organization has been “tactically” contained in areas in which they have operated since 2010, but added, “Strategically they have spread since 2010.” (Read more from “Top U.S. Military Officer Just Broke Ranks to Expose Obama in a Huge Way” HERE)

The front-running GOP presidential candidate, who often has crowds laughing during his rallies, threatened to change his jokey style because it results in him being misrepresented — both in the press and in attack ads from his opponents.
“They take two second snippets,” he exclaimed before settling back into his usual style, comedy included.
But that’s not the only threat Trump levied. In a chilly arena that was transformed from an ice rink into an event space by laying down plastic tiles to cover the rink floor, the businessman put a price on his participation at the coming CNN Republican debate: $5 million.
“How about I tell CNN, who doesn’t treat me properly … I’m not gonna do the next debate, okay?” The demand garnered tepid applause from the crowd.
Trump zeroed in more on his idea: “I won’t do the debate unless they pay me $5 million, all of which goes to Wounded Warriors or goes to vets.” (Read more from “Trump Proposes Insane Ransom for Showing up at CNN Debate, but There’s a Good Reason for It” HERE)

President Obama is sending an “expeditionary force” of U.S. military special operators to carry out raids against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, a move that expands on their decision to send about 50 special operators to Syria to coordinate air strikes.
“In full coordination with the Government of Iraq, we’re deploying a specialized expeditionary targeting force to assist Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces and put even more pressure on [ISIS],” Defense Secretary Ash Carter told the House Armed Services Committee in announcing the new deployment on Tuesday.
Although the term “expeditionary force” evokes large-scale mobilizations such as those seen in World War II or the Iraq War, Carter outlined a more limited deployment. But his announcement still provoked questions about the legal basis for the move, and caused one Democrat to warn of the specter of nuclear war with Russia.
In arguing for the additional force, Carter invoked the recent rescue of ISIS prisoners in Iraq and the raid in Syria that killed a top commander in charge of the terrorist group’s oil and gas operations. “Imagine . . . on a standing basis, being able when occasions arise . . . to conduct raids like that anywhere in the territory of Syria and Iraq. That is what we’re talking about.”
He couldn’t, however, claim the legal authority to make such a deployment under the terms of the 2001 legislation that authorized the use of military force (AUMF) in Afghanistan and Iraq — the only such congressional authorization on the books. “I can’t speak to [that],” Carter told Representative Bradley Byrne (R., Ala.).
