A Quinnipiac poll in April showed Chris Christie as the most popular potential Republican vice-presidential candidate, thanks to his budget cuts and standing up to government employees’ unions. But the governor of New Jersey has a problem, specifically an Islam problem, that can and should get in the way of his possible ascent to higher office. Time and again he has sided with Islamist forces against those who worry about safeguarding American security and civilization.

Some examples:

2008: When serving as U.S. attorney for New Jersey, Christie embraced and kissed Mohammed Qatanani, imam of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, and praised him as “a man of great goodwill.” He did this after Qatanani had publicly ranted against Jews and in support of funding Hamas, a U.S. government�designated terror organization, and on the eve of his deportation hearing for not hiding an Israeli conviction for membership in Hamas. In addition, Christie designated a top aide, Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles McKenna, to testify as a character witness for Qatanani.

2010: After Derek Fenton burned three pages of a Koran at a 9/11 memorial ceremony, his employer, New Jersey Transit, got Christie’s approval to fire him. Protecting Islam at the expense of the constitutional right to free speech, Christie endorsed Fenton’s termination: “That kind of intolerance is something I think is unacceptable. So I don’t have any problem with him being fired.” The American Civil Liberties Union successfully represented Fenton to get his job back.
2011: Christie appointed an Islamist, Sohail Mohammed, to the New Jersey state superior court. Mohammed’s record includes serving as general counsel to the American Muslim Union (which has stated that a “Zionist Commando Orchestrated The 9-11 Terrorist Attacks”), acting as spokesman for Muslim prisoners who went on a hunger strike after being jailed during Ramadan, defending Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian (his indictment, Mohammed said, was “nothing but a witch-hunt”), and helping Qatanani’s legal defense. Mohammed established himself not just as the Islamists’ lawyer but as one of them.

When members of New Jersey’s Senate Judiciary Committee asked Mohammed appropriately tough questions about his enthusiasm for Islam’s archaic law code, the Shari’a, Christie ridiculed the lawmakers: “Shari’a law has nothing to do with this [appointment of Mohammed] at all. It’s crazy. It’s crazy. . . . So, this Shari’a law business is crap. It’s just crazy. And I’m tired of dealing with the crazies. I mean, you know, it’s just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.” For this outburst, unsurprisingly, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) thanked and applauded Christie.

A Michigan police department has made it clear that freedom of speech and the Constitutional right to peaceably assemble may only be enjoyed upon approval by the terror-promoting, Islamic group CAIR.

On January 26^th, Michigan State Representative David Agema and others hosted an event entitled “Constituting Michigan—Founding Principles Act” in the Allegan High School auditorium. The purpose of the event was “…to inform the public about the importance of honoring the United States Constitution, to recognize the internal threat to America posed by radical Muslims and the dangers to our free society caused by the imposition of Sharia law.”

As the Michigan House sponsor of HB 4769, “The Restriction of Application of Foreign Laws Act,” it is Representative Agema’s goal to ban the use of foreign or Sharia law by Michigan courts “…when those laws conflict with fundamental rights protected by the Constitution of the United States and the State of Michigan.”

But Michigan executive director of the Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) Dawud Walid strongly opposes Agema’s House bill and, upon being advised of the planned program at the high school, wrote a letter to school officials complaining about the event.

It is important to note that CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case, the largest terror-funding proceeding in US legal history. An organization with proven ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood that regularly uses its limitless financial resources to intimidate and silence critics with frivolous court actions, CAIR is managed nationally by radical Islamic convert Ibrahim Hooper.

As the media-fueled Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman firestorm rages, a number of black-on-white assaults have been reported in which the assailants have declared “justice for Trayvon” prompted the attack.

But according to former Department of Justice attorney J. Christian Adams, don’t expect to see Attorney General Eric Holder rush to open an investigation.

“There’s a hostility [in the Department of Justice] toward even conceiving civil rights protect everybody,” Adams told WND in an exclusive interview. “People in the Department of Justice are philosophically opposed to this. You are watching it play out in Mobile, with Matthew Owens.”

Adams, the author of “Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department,” referred to the story of Owens, a white resident of Mobile, Ala., who allegedly was bludgeoned by 20 blacks who used pipes, paint cans and chairs in the April 21 assault.

WKRG-TV in Mobile reported that one of the alleged attackers stated, “Now that’s justice for Trayvon” as they left Owens beaten on the ground. He has been in ICU since attack.

When Obama pushed through his stimulus package shortly after taking office, the money going to bail out GM andW Chrysler was not so much intended to shore up those corporations as it was intended to shore up the unions at those corporations. In other words, although one of the ubiquitous reasons given was saving these two iconic American companies, the real goal was to pass tax-payer dollars to Democrat-dominated union members (to keep them voting for Democrat candidates for the foreseeable future). In a real sense, this is nothing more than a sophisticated money laundering scheme. And it’s one that should outrage every American taxpayer regardless of party affiliation.
