A Chick-fil-A restaurant in Ohio will require all customers under 17 to be accompanied by an adult or face removal, the franchise announced last week.

The franchise from Kettering, Ohio, said the policy intends to “ensure a safe and respectful environment for all guests,” requiring minors to be accompanied by someone over 21, according to a post on its Facebook page. The timing coincides with the start of the school year, when teenage foot traffic typically increases. The new rule follows a similar policy the nearby Town & Country Shopping Center implemented in 2022 to address property damage. That policy requires visitors to carry proof of age.

Local residents expressed mixed reactions online. Critics called the policy overly broad and unfair to well-behaved teenagers. Supporters argued it would preserve a family-friendly atmosphere.

“Nobody there makes enough to constantly remove disruptive teenagers who lack accountability and fear of consequence,” one commenter said, responding to another user who suggested the restaurant could simply remove disruptive customers on a case-by-case basis.

The Kettering location was not the first one to introduce such a policy. A Royersford, Pennsylvania, Chick-fil-A enforced similar restrictions in 2023 after dealing with what it called “unacceptable behaviors.” The Pennsylvania franchise cited loud, profane conduct, food throwing, table vandalism, and verbal abuse of employees. Raising the Bar: Trump Admin Makes U.S. Citizenship Harder to Earn

For decades, becoming a U.S. citizen has been one of the greatest privileges in the world. But under weak policies, too often the path to naturalization has been reduced to checking boxes and avoiding only the most extreme disqualifiers. That’s changing under the Trump administration, which has announced a tougher, more rigorous standard for immigrant applicants seeking citizenship.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released new guidance restoring a “holistic and comprehensive” standard for evaluating good moral character (GMC). Instead of assuming someone qualifies simply because they haven’t committed a murder or aggravated felony, officers will now look for positive contributions — evidence that an applicant is ready to uphold the responsibilities of citizenship, not just enjoy its benefits.

According to the memo, “evaluating GMC involves more than a cursory mechanical review focused on the absence of wrongdoing. It entails a holistic assessment of an alien’s behavior, adherence to societal norms, and positive contributions that affirmatively demonstrate good moral character.”

This means that, moving forward, USCIS officers will weigh factors like:

Volunteer service and community involvement

Family caregiving and ties in the U.S.

Stable employment and financial responsibility

Educational attainment and tax compliance

At the same time, the new policy tightens scrutiny of disqualifying behavior. Acts that previously slipped through the cracks — including DUIs, drug violations, reckless driving, harassment, or even unlawful voter registration — can now weigh heavily against an applicant.

The Trump administration’s message is clear: U.S. citizenship is not a consolation prize. It is the gold standard of citizenship worldwide, and it must be reserved for those who embody the best of American values.

As USCIS spokesman Matthew Tragesser put it, “U.S. citizenship is the gold standard of citizenship — it should only be offered to the world’s best of the best.”

By restoring higher expectations, the administration is ensuring that America remains a nation built on strong families, strong communities, and strong character. That’s not only good for today — it’s an investment in the country’s future.

Biden DOJ Ripped White House Over Clemency Grant to ‘Non-Violent Offenders’: ‘Stop Saying That Because It Is Untrue’

Senior Justice Department officials were left befuddled by the sweeping pardons then-President Biden approved for thousands of convicts days before leaving office earlier this year — and rebuked the White House for falsely labeling the clemency recipients “nonviolent” offenders, according to emails reviewed by The Post.

Associate Deputy Attorney General Brad Weinsheimer struggled to make sense of the commutations granted nearly 2,500 federal convicts on Jan. 17 and requested “a list as to each inmate listing the offenses that are covered by the commutation.”

“I think the language ‘offenses described to the Department of Justice’ in the warrant is highly problematic and in order to resolve its meaning appropriately, and consistent with the President’s intent, we will need a statement or direction from the President as to how to interpret the language,” Weinsheimer wrote in a Jan. 18 email to members of the White House Counsel’s Office and the DOJ Pardon Attorney’s Office, adding that a statement directly from Biden would help clarify “the meaning of the warrant language.”

“One other important note,” the DOJ official continued, “in communication about the commutations, the White House has described those who received commutations as people convicted of non-violent drug offenses.

Las Vegas Child Sex Sting: Netanyahu Cyber Chief Arrested, Released, and Returned to Israel

By The Guardian. An Israeli government cybersecurity official was reportedly arrested recently by Las Vegas police and other authorities in Nevada who were conducting an undercover investigation aimed at online users seeking to sexually prey on children.

Tom Artiom Alexandrovich, 38, faces felony charges of luring a child with a computer for a sex act, alongside several other suspects who were apprehended during the two-week sting operation, the Las Vegas metropolitan police department said in a statement published on Friday. He has since been released from custody on $10,000 bail after an initial court appearance, records show, and returned to Israel.

As first reported by the news site Mediaite, a publicly posted screenshot of Alexandrovich’s page on the LinkedIn professional networking platform described him as the executive director of the Israel Cyber Directorate, an Israeli government agency under the purview of prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. Other information online attributes the same position to Alexandrovich.

The screenshot first reported by Mediaite also showed a post under Alexandrovich’s name alluding to his having been in Las Vegas earlier in August for the Black Hat Briefings, a yearly meeting of cybersecurity professionals.

“Two things you can’t escape at Black Hat 2025: the relentless buz of generative [artificial intelligence] and the sound of Hebrew … in every corridor,” Alexandrovich wrote in part in an accompanying post. Invoking an abbreviation for large language models and referring to one of Israel’s largest cities, the post continued: “The key takeaway? The future of cybersecurity is being written in code, and it seems a significant part of it is being authored in #TelAviv and powered by LLMs. An exciting time to be in the field!”

Netanyahu associate, arrested in Las Vegas child sex sting, escapes without charges

According to Las Vegas authorities, Alexandrovich and others were charged with luring a child with a computer for a sexual act. In Nevada, this felony carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

He was in Las Vegas for a professional conference, not as a registered diplomat. He has no diplomatic immunity. Yet US authorities allowed him to board a plane and return to Israeli-occupied territories within days, without trial, bail conditions, or public explanation.

Israeli outlet Ynet reported only that Alexandrovich was “briefly detained for questioning… before his release and return to Israel,” without mentioning the felony charges or the multi-agency child predator sting led by US authorities. Senior Israeli official arrested in US for child sex crimes

By The New Arab. . .[Tom] Alexandrovich, 38, was charged with attempting to lure a child with a computer for a sex act and detained in a facility near Las Vegas on 6 August, police records show. He was then released on $10,000 bail after appearing before a judge on 7 August.

It remains unclear who posted his bail or why he was allowed to leave the country. . .

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office initially denied that the official had been arrested and confirmed they had returned to Israel.

“A state employee who travelled to the US for professional matters was questioned by American authorities during his stay,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement to Israeli media. “The employee, who does not hold a diplomatic visa, was not arrested and returned to Israel as scheduled.”

How Trump’s Meeting With Putin Pivoted From Ukraine Cease-Fire to Full Peace Deal

President Trump made an abrupt announcement about two hours into his private, roughly three-hour meeting with Vladimir Putin Friday — declaring he wanted a full peace deal in Ukraine rather than a cease-fire, The Post has learned.

Convinced there were relatively few matters left to resolve, and believing a truce would only prolong the war, Trump set aside his publicly stated goal of a temporary halt in fighting.

“Figuratively, the president sort of threw up his hands and said, ‘I’m not interested in a cease-fire anymore,’” a source familiar with the discussion said.

Trump expressed concern that the “focus of the cease-fire” would be on “how long the cease fire will be” and “are they going to rearm?”

The pivot yielded “no pushback from the Russians,” leading Trump to exit Anchorage without a cease-fire in hand. Instead, he dialed up Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders to see if a full peace deal was within reach.

Customs Busts $400M Duty-Evasion Ring Tied to China and Global Network

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has dismantled a massive duty-evasion operation designed to circumvent President Trump’s tariffs, uncovering more than $400 million in unpaid trade duties — with that number expected to climb as investigations continue, FOX Business has learned.

The bust was carried out under the Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA), a key enforcement tool used to detect and halt illegal transshipments, false origin claims, and other schemes intended to defraud the U.S. government.

“CBP’s EAPA program is a critical component of our trade enforcement efforts. We’re working tirelessly to prevent evasion and ensure a level playing field for U.S. companies,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott. “Our mission, under the leadership of President Trump, is to support economic fairness, protect domestic industry, and uphold the integrity of U.S. supply chains.”

A source said investigators deployed personnel to mattress factories in Taiwan and Indonesia — only to find no production taking place at all.

The investigation revealed that over half of the unpaid duties — roughly $250 million — came from a network of 23 Chinese shell companies. These companies repackaged goods to appear as though they originated from other Asian nations such as South Korea, Indonesia, and Vietnam, all in an effort to dodge U.S. anti-dumping and countervailing duties (AD/CVD).

“Never before has CBP identified this many importers evading AD/CVD in a single consolidated EAPA investigation,” said Susan S. Thomas, acting Executive Assistant Commissioner for CBP’s Office of Trade. “The revenue identified for collection exceeds $250 million, but this figure may increase as we uncover additional importers in the scheme.”

The operation has already triggered 89 additional cases flagged for suspicion of duty evasion, with CBP warning that monetary recovery will likely exceed $400 million once the full extent of the fraud is uncovered.

CBP says its crackdown sends a clear message: tariff evasion will not be tolerated, and those attempting to cheat U.S. trade laws will face aggressive enforcement.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Reported Work-Release Deal Raises Alarming Questions

The reported granting of work-release privileges to convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell — despite Bureau of Prisons policies barring such benefits for sex offenders — has sparked renewed scrutiny of the network surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.

For many, Maxwell’s case was supposed to represent accountability within the Epstein saga. Her 2021 conviction on multiple counts of trafficking minors for Epstein’s abuse was viewed as a partial victory for survivors and a rare win against an entrenched system that shielded the powerful. But this new development has reopened old wounds and raised new fears: that the machinery of influence protecting the Epstein network is still operational.

According to investigative podcast host Allison Gill, internal records indicate Maxwell’s Public Safety Factor — a designation that typically blocks sex offenders from minimum-security prison camps and outside work programs — was waived. That waiver reportedly allowed her transfer to the low-security Federal Prison Camp Bryan and gave her a custody level marked as “OUT,” enabling work assignments outside the facility.

The question gripping legal observers: who approved this exception, and why?

Federal rules are explicit — sex offenders, particularly those with Maxwell’s conviction history, are not eligible for such privileges.

The controversy over Maxwell’s work release comes just as the White House expressed disappointment over a federal court’s refusal to unseal grand jury transcripts tied to her case. Those records could contain testimony implicating individuals in Epstein’s trafficking ring who have never been charged.

This is not the first time critical evidence in the Epstein saga has been withheld from public view. The financier’s “black book” of contacts, sealed plea deal records from his 2008 Florida case, and the yet-unreleased Epstein “files” from various civil suits remain tightly controlled.

The DOJ could still appeal the decision to keep Maxwell’s grand jury records sealed.

Emergency Declared in Alaska as Glacier Basin Nears Record Flood Release

Authorities in Alaska’s capital are bracing for what could be one of the largest glacial lake outburst floods on record, triggering state, local, and tribal disaster declarations before the waters even begin to surge.

On Sunday, Governor Mike Dunleavy issued a statewide disaster declaration in anticipation of a potentially catastrophic release from Suicide Basin — a glacial side basin perched above the Mendenhall Glacier. The move follows earlier declarations from the City and Borough of Juneau and the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.

Hydrologists with the National Weather Service (NWS) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have confirmed that Suicide Basin is now holding water volumes equal to or greater than those measured during the worst flooding events on record. The ice-dammed basin has already begun to overtop, with icebergs drifting toward an overflow channel — an ominous sign that floodwaters could soon pour into the Mendenhall River and surrounding neighborhoods.

“This year is different. We’re not just responding — we’re ready,” Juneau City Manager Katie Koester said. “The HESCO barriers are in place, and we believe they will perform as designed, but our job is to plan for every scenario — especially in the face of what could be another historic flood event.”

The August 2024 glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) devastated parts of the Mendenhall Valley, damaging homes, public infrastructure, and utilities. That disaster led to both state and federal emergency declarations. Officials say the proactive approach this year will allow state resources and personnel to be pre-positioned.

The NWS warned that in past years, overtopping has preceded major flooding by as much as six days. On Sunday, August 10, instruments began detecting slow drops in basin water levels — another sign the release could be imminent.

Residents have been urged to finalize flood preparations immediately. Emergency alerts have been sent to cell phones throughout Juneau, and printed evacuation preparation notices are being distributed to every home within the 17-foot inundation zone. A second alert will be issued when water begins its rapid descent from the basin.

Governor Dunleavy underscored the importance of acting early: “By issuing this declaration before the flood occurs, we can position resources in advance to reduce impacts and preserve community safety.”

Texas Redistricting Standoff Is Over: Democrats Will Reportedly Return to State House

The Texas Democrats who fled the state to avoid a redistricting vote have decided to return, according to multiple sources that spoke to KTRK-TV.

Republicans had threatened to cut off their paychecks and even vacate their seats if they did not return to allow a quorum and proceed with official business. Democrats have been trying to shut down the approval of a redistricting map that some say would give Republicans a five-seat advantage in the U.S. House.

The KTRK report said the fleeing Democrats believe they have accomplished their goals of bringing national awareness to the redistricting effort and stopping a first special session.

After KTRK reported the development, it received a statement from a spokesperson for the Texas Democratic Caucus.
