Two Republican Senate candidates in Alaska refused to sign an anti-amnesty pledge during a Sunday debate.

Conservative candidate Joe Miller asked his two opponents to sign a pledge that reads, “I will oppose any attempt by Congress or the President to grant amnesty (any pathway to citizenship) for illegal aliens.”

Former Alaska Attorney General Dan Sullivan, who is supported by Karl Rove and other pro-amnesty Republicans, and Lt. Gov Mead Treadwell, who has said he supported a pathway to citizenship, refused to sign it…

The Department of Education released a fact sheet Monday about the availability of public school education for undocumented immigrant children — specifically the tens of thousands unaccompanied minors who have recently entered the U.S. illegally.

“We have begun to receive inquiries regarding educational services for a specific group of immigrant children who have been in the news – children from Central America who have recently crossed the U.S. – Mexico border,” the Department of Education explains.

“This new fact sheet provides information to help education leaders better understand the responsibilities of States and local educational agencies (LEAs) in connection with such students, and the existing resources available to help educate all immigrant students – including children who recently arrived in the United States,” it adds.

The fact sheet lays out the basics about the undocumented immigrant children’s rights and what communities can do to help with enrollment.

Conservative Campaign Committee Endorses Joe Miller for U.S. Senate

joe-millerThe Joe Miller campaign announced the endorsement of the Conservative Campaign Committee today.

The Political Action Committee’s President Ryan Gill stated, “Joe Miller is working hard on behalf of the conservative principles we share. We look forward to working along side him as the Republican nominee and Alaska’s next United States Senator.”

In making its announcement, the group noted that Miller is a “constitutional conservative” in the mold of Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul, who is running against “two establishment candidates.”

Miller responded, “I am honored by the endorsement of the Conservative Campaign Committee. Their support comes at a critical juncture in the race, when the momentum, according to what we’re seeing on the ground, as well as public and internal polling, has shifted in our direction. With the help of liberty-loving Americans, we are going to win this race on August 19th and defeat Mark Begich in November.”

Anti-Israel College Professor Stands By Call for ‘Jihad’

A Kent State University history professor is standing by his call for “jihad” and statement that Israel is “a regime that is the spiritual heir to Nazism.”

In an “open letter” to “academic friends of Israel,” professor Julio Pino accused the pro-Israel academic community of being “directly responsible for the murder of more than 1,400 Palestinian children, women and elderly civilians.”

In a statement that quotes former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and compares the academics to alleged Nazi collaborator and philosopher Martin Heidegger, Pino writes:

Your names are scrawled on every bullet fired, bomb dropped, body buried and burnt forehead in Gaza. May your names become a curse word on the lips of every justice-loving person on earth, along with “Obama” and “Netanyahu.”

Obama Told Lawmakers Criticism of His Syria Policy is 'Horsesh*t'

Hillary Clinton and congressmen alike have called on Obama to arm Syria’s rebels. But the president fumed at lawmakers in a private meeting for suggesting he should’ve done more.

President Obama got angry at lawmakers who suggested in a private meeting that he should have armed the Syrian rebels, calling the criticism “horseshit.”

The argument that America should have done more in Syria, made for years by foreign policy leaders in both parties and several members of Obama’s senior national security team, was brought back to the fore this past weekend. Obama and Hillary Clinton gave dueling interviews in which they publicly split on whether the security and humanitarian catastrophe in Syria could have been avoided if the United States had played a larger role. Obama’s outburst on July 31, one week prior, reveals the criticism was already getting to him, even before the White House tried to deflect Clinton’s remarks as pre-presidential political posturing.

Just before the Congressional recess, President Obama invited over a dozen Senate and House leaders from both parties to the White House to talk about foreign policy. According to two lawmakers inside the meeting, Obama became visibly agitated when confronted by bipartisan criticism of the White House’s policy of slow-rolling moderate Syrian rebels’ repeated requests for arms to fight the Assad regime and ISIS.

According to one of the lawmakers, Sen. Bob Corker asked the President a long question that included sharp criticisms of President Obama’s handling of a number of foreign policy issues—including Syria, ISIS, Russia, and Ukraine. Obama answered Corker at length. Then, the president defended his administration’s actions on Syria, saying that the notion that many have put forth regarding arming the rebels earlier would have led to better outcomes in Syria was “horseshit.”

"As President, I Will Defend Americans Against the Moral Bullies"

Back when Al Gore was running for president in 2000 he had a line about “fighting for the people against the powerful.” It’s the standard line of the activist. No doubt it’s what the marginalized and dependent classes are looking for in a president.

But if you are a responsible individual like me you find that sort of thing insulting. People of the Responsible Self don’t want some community organizer drilling them in a street protest; we just want a government that defends us from enemies foreign and domestic.

Defending against enemies foreign and domestic is what governments are actually supposed to do. But America has another little problem right now. You know what it is. America is suffering from a plague of the liberal moral bullies with nothing better to do than humiliate people that don’t agree with them.

Even as we speak, the indefatigable Michelle Malkin reports that all the best cities now have their own social justice magnet school. Really? America needs to encourage more kids to become social justice activists? I’d say a bigger need is magnet schools in every bland suburb to teach ordinary American kids how to defend themselves against the liberal bullies and the social-justice activists.

That’s why we need a leader, right now, ready to defend Americans against the social-justice activists.

Navy Removes Bibles from Guest Rooms

There is growing outrage among sailors and religious liberty advocates over a directive that calls for the removal of Bibles from lodges and hotels run on U.S. Navy bases. The directive comes after an atheist group filed a formal complaint earlier this year over the placement of Bibles in the rooms.

“The current direction is to remove all religious material from Navy Lodge guest rooms,” read an email to a Navy chaplain from The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). “For those Navy Lodges with religious materials currently in guest rooms, the Navy Lodge General Manager will contact the Installation Chaplain’s office who will provide guidance on the removal procedure disposition of these materials.”

An active duty service member contacted me and alerted me the Bibles were being taken out of hotel rooms and a lodge housekeeper told American Family Association the same thing.

The American Family Association received an exclusive copy of a similar directive from NEXCOM, the organization that manages the lodges.

“The Navy Lodge General Manager should advise the Installation Commanding Officer of our intention to work through the chaplain’s office to determine what installation policy is and the method to remove religious material currently in the guest rooms,” read a directive approved by Michael Bockelman, the vice president of NEXCOM and the director of the Navy Lodge Program.

The Drug Enforcement Administration paid an Amtrak employee hundreds of thousands of dollars over two decades to obtain confidential information it could have gotten for free, according to internal investigators at the railroad.

According to a report released Monday by Amtrak’s inspector general, the DEA paid an Amtrak secretary $854,460 to be an informant. The employee was not publicly identified except as a “secretary to a train and engine crew.”

Amtrak’s own police agency is already in a joint drug enforcement task force that includes the DEA. According to the inspector general, that task force can obtain Amtrak confidential passenger reservation information at no cost.

Weasel Zippers has revived an old video of Barack Obama promising not to take vacations if he were elected president.

The video features then-Sen. Obama discussing his book “The Audacity Of Hope” with New York Times columnist Bob Herbert in 2008.

The future president was talking about how those running for president need to be prepared to “give their life to it.”

“The bargain that any president strikes with is, you give me this office and in turn my, fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, family life, vacations, leisure is gone,” Obama said. “I am giving myself to you.”

Two years ago on September 26, 2012, U.S. citizen and pastor Saeed Abedini was thrown into an Iranian prison simply because of his Christian faith. During that time, he was working with the Iranian government to build a local orphanage.

In November of 2013, Abedini was transferred from a political detainee jail to a “notoriously violent lockup.” He has since endured torturous beatings and “sustained injuries for which he still needs surgery.” In January, Abedini began an eight-year prison sentence after he was convicted of starting a network of churches in Iranian homes.

Abedini’s wife Naghmeh recently appealed to President Obama and the Iranian government by releasing this video footage of her children, Jacob and Rebekka:
