Venezuela on Alert Over Mysterious, Deadly Disease? 10 Dead

Photo Credit: The Extinction ProtocolThe deaths of 10 people in the past week of a mysterious disease in several cities in Venezuela, including the capital of Caracas, have caused panic within the population and has prompted doctors to sound the alarm. A government spokesman minimized the warnings and described efforts to notify the public of a disease that has killed four adults and four children as a “campaign of disinformation and terrorism.” Despite the government’s indifference, the country’s doctors insist there is plenty of reason for concern about a highly dangerous and contagious disease of unknown origin. “We do not know what it is,” admitted Duglas León Natera, president of the Venezuelan Medical Federation. In its initial stages, the disease presents symptoms of fever and spots on the skin, and then produces large blisters and internal and external bleeding, according to data provided week stop by the College of Physicians of the state of Aragua, where the first cases were reported. Then, very quickly, patients suffer from respiratory failure, liver failure and kidney failure. Venezuelan doctors have not been able to determine what the disease is, much less how to fight it.

Investigator Says He Found Multiple ‘Fake Cell Towers’ Near White House, Russian Embassy

Photo Credit: IntegricellThink about the phone conversations you’ve had in the last 48 hours. Is there anything personal or sensitive you wouldn’t want a stranger to hear or record?

Now imagine the cell phone conversations that took place about the Islamic State this week between lawmakers, their staff members and anyone who testified on the Hill. Think any sensitive information or key plans were discussed during those phone calls?

An investigator looking into the claims that “fake cell towers” are popping up all over the country says he discovered several active sites just in the last 48 hours within feet of the White House, around the Russian Embassy and covering the Senate buildings where key Islamic State hearings took place this week.

“On Tuesday, I believe it was at the exact time the ISIS hearings were ongoing, we drove by the Senate and our phones were targeted,” Aaron Turner, an expert in MOBILE SECURITY and information protection, told TheBlaze.

Dems Block Cruz Bill to Strip U.S. Citizenship from Islamic State Defectors (+video)

Photo Credit: APSen. Ted Cruz tried to get the Senate to consider a measure Thursday providing that any American who joins the fight with terrorist groups such as the Islamic State would immediately renounce their U.S. citizenship, but a Democratic senator objected, saying more time is necessary to weigh the significant constitutional issues it raises.

Ahead of the Senate’s scheduled consideration Thursday afternoon of a proposal to arm and train Syrian rebels, part of President Obama’s strategy to combat the terrorist group, the Texas Republican asked for unanimous consent to pass the Expatriate Terrorist Act he introduced earlier this month.

The measure makes providing support to or fighting for a terrorist group targeting the U.S. “an affirmative renunciation of American citizenship,” Mr. Cruz said on the Senate floor Thursday. He pointed out that former Sens. Joe Lieberman, Connecticut independent, and Scott Brown, Massachusetts Republican, introduced a similar measure several years ago related to al Qaeda.

“If we do not pass this legislation, the consequence will be that Americans fighting alongside ISIS today may come home tomorrow with a U.S. passport, may come home to New York or Los Angeles or Houston or Chicago and innocent Americans may be murdered if the Senate does not act today,” Mr. Cruz said.

Intruder Made It Through White House Doors, Secret Service Says

Photo Credit: Flickr / nedrichardsA Texas man who scaled the White House fence made it through the North Portico doors on Friday night before being apprehended, the Secret Service said.

The intruder, Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, was ARRESTED just inside the doors and taken to George Washington University Hospital after complaining of chest pains, said Ed Donovan, a Secret Service spokesman.

None of the Obamas were home when the SECURITY BREACH occurred about 7:20 p.m., but White House staff members were evacuated as a precaution, officials said. President Obama and his daughters had left for the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md., just minutes before the incident.

Mr. Gonzalez, of Copperas Cove, Tex., was not armed and was not carrying a bag or a backpack when officials spotted him jumping the fence on the Pennsylvania Avenue side, Mr. Donovan said. He ignored several calls for him to stop as officers gave chase.

Census: Marriage Rate at 93-Year Low

Photo Credit: APThe Census Bureau reported Thursday that the nation’s marriage rate is the lowest since 1920, and the first-time inclusion of same sex married couples did little to reverse the decline.

According to Pew Research Center analysis, the marriage rate of Americans 18 and older hit a bottom of 50.3 percent in 2013, down from 50.5 percent in 2012. In 1920, the first year mentioned, 65 percent were married, and the marriage rate hit a high of 72.2 percent in 1960.

John Boehner Joins Nancy Pelosi to Pass Bill Funding Planned Parenthood, ObamaCare

Photo Credit: APHouse Speaker John Boehner (R) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D) united Wednesday evening to fund the government after September 30 by passing a continuing resolution (CR) that includes the funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, and Obamacare.

Republicans needed significant support from Democrats to pass the CR, 319-108. However, 53 Republicans and 55 Democrats voted against it, reports CNSNews.com. The bill will fund the government through December 11th during the “lame duck” session of Congress.

Among the Republican members of the House who voted against the resolution were Reps. Louis Gohmert (TX); Michele Bachmann (MN); Trey Gowdy (SC); John Fleming (LA); Jim Jordan (OH); Scott Garrett (NJ); Jim Bridenstine (OK); and Dana Rohrabacher (CA).

Report: GOP Leadership Considering Rules To Punish Party Disloyalty

Photo Credit: TownHallA new congressional delegation will bring a new vote for leadership. With Democrats needing a miracle to gain a few seats, much less actually take the House, Republicans are close to a sure bet to be in control come November. That’ll mean elections, and elections means a John Boehner who needs to have the support of his caucus.

There are a lot of members of the GOP caucus who don’t very much like John Boehner. He’s taken a lot of heat for being insufficiently conservative. To avoid an embarrassing vote, leadership might have some “rules tweaks” in the pipeline, as National Journal reports:

House Republicans are quietly discussing a proposal that could fundamentally alter the way future speakers of the House are chosen, according to multiple GOP sources, with the objective of avoiding a repeat of John Boehner’s embarrassing reelection vote in 2013.

Memo to the BBC: The 'Far Right' Did Not Decapitate David Haines Nor Rape 1,400 Girls in Rotherham

Photo Credit: BreitbartHere is the news: in Australia, a plot by Islamic State sympathisers to capture random members of the public and chop their heads off has been foiled by security services; in Syria, two Americans and a British hostage have been beheaded by an Islamist nicknamed Jihadi John – and another innocent Briton (a taxi driver captured while working for an aid convoy) has been told he is next on the list; across Britain, in the aftermath of the Rotherham enquiry, more and more evidence is emerging that in towns and cities all over the country mostly underage white girls have been systematically groomed, raped and trafficked by organised Muslim gangs, with the complicity of local government authorities, charity workers, police officers and the broader Muslim community.

Luckily, thanks to the BBC, we know what the real problem is here. It is, of course, our old friends, “Islamophobia” and “the spectre of a far right” backlash.

Both of these alleged threats featured prominently on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme this morning, including an interview with a former, self-confessed “far right” thug who revealed – presumably to no listener’s especial surprise – that the organisation to which he had belonged was racist, prone to violence, and likely to react strongly to issues like the Rotherham rape gangs.

Today also ran an interview with Tell Mama – the one-man activist organisation run by Fiyaz Mughal which has long since been exposed for its exaggerations and its threadbare methodology in cooking up an alleged spate of “anti-Muslim” hate crimes.

Air Force Dumps ‘So Help Me God’ from Enlistment Oaths

Photo Credit: Fox News After an airman was unable to complete his reenlistment because he omitted the part of a required oath that states “so help me God,” the Air Force changed its instructions for the oath.

Following a review of the POLICY by the Department of Defense General Counsel, the Air Force will now permit airmen to omit the phrase, should they so choose. That change is effective immediately, according to an Air Force statement.

“We take any instance in which Airmen report concerns regarding religious freedom seriously,” Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James said in the statement. “We are making the appropriate adjustments to ensure our Airmen’s RIGHTS are protected.

“The Air Force will be updating the instructions for both enlisted and commissioned Airmen to reflect these changes in the coming weeks, but the policy change is effective now. Airmen who choose to omit the words ‘So help me God’ from enlistment and officer appointment oaths may do so.”
