Green Berets Have Growing Doubts of Duties With Skittish Political Leadership

On foot, helicopter and horseback, Army Special Forces showed that if the U.S. was to win a long counterinsurgency war against Islamic extremists, the special skills of Green Berets would be fundamental.

Nearly 14 years later, these soldiers, some of the military’s smartest and best trained, are still creating lots of headlines, but not necessarily for heroics.

In recent months, the Army has disciplined, admonished and ended the careers of a number of Green Berets for actions that the soldiers themselves believe were part of combating an evil enemy. Pristine standards for fighting the Taliban and al Qaeda are not achievable, some in the community say.

“There is certainly a belief that upper echelons of leadership have morphed into political positions, and leaders are a lot less willing to risk their own career to support their soldiers,” Danny Quinn, a former Green Beret team leader and West Point graduate, told The Washington Times. College Professors Threaten Bad Grades for Saying These ‘Hateful’ Words

college_studentsMultiple professors at Washington State University have explicitly told students their grades will suffer if they use terms such as “illegal alien,” “male,” and “female,” or if they fail to “defer” to non-white students.

According to the syllabus for Selena Lester Breikss’ “Women & Popular Culture” class, students risk a failing grade if they use any common descriptors that Breikss considers “oppressive and hateful language.”

The punishment for repeatedly using the banned words, Breikss warns, includes “but [is] not limited to removal from the class without attendance or participation points, failure of the assignment, and— in extreme cases— failure for the semester” . . .

Much like in Selena Breikss’s classroom, students taking Professor Rebecca Fowler’s “ Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies” course will see their grades suffer if they use the term “illegal alien” in their assigned writing.

According to her syllabus, students will lose one point every time they use the words “illegal alien” or “illegals” rather than the preferred terms of “‘undocumented’ migrants/immigrants/persons.” Throughout the course, Fowler says, students will “come to recognize how white privilege functions in everyday social structures and institutions.” (Read more from “College Professors Threaten Bad Grades for Saying These ‘Hateful’ Words” HERE)

Boykin: Military Leaders Abetting ‘Destruction of This Nation’ to Save Their Jobs

Colorado Soldiers Return HomeJerry Boykin, the retired Army general who now serves as a top official at the Family Research Council, joined FRC President Tony Perkins on his “Washington Watch” radio program last night to discuss a letter that he and other retired officers have sent to Congress urging them to reject the nuclear deal with Iran.

Boykin, of course, could not help discussing the issue in apocalyptic terms, telling Perkins that current military leaders are going along with the deal in order to save their jobs even though it will lead to the “destruction of this nation” . . .

“So what we see now is we see a bunch of senior leaders in our military that have put their careers first,” he said, “that have taken care of themselves before they do what’s really important to them, which is the Constitution of the United States and the future of this nation.”

“I’ll get a lot of criticism for this,” he added, “but that’s okay, you still love me and Jesus loves me so that’s all I really care about, but it’s incredible to me that we have leaders in our military that will go along with something that absolutely portends the destruction of this nation and an abysmal future for their grandchildren.” (Read more from “Boykin: Military Leaders Abetting ‘Destruction of This Nation’ to Save Their Jobs” HERE)

Man Guns Down State Trooper, Unlikely Hero Steps up and Delivers Justice [+video]

imageRobert LeDoux does not want to be considered a hero for his actions Sunday afternoon on a country road in southwest Louisiana.

He was out for a drive in his Jeep when people passing by in another vehicle flagged him down. “Don’t go down there. That guy’s got a gun,” they told him. Up ahead was a pickup truck that had run into a ditch on the side of the road and a police cruiser with lights flashing.

LeDoux did not take heed and went forward to see what was happening. What he witnessed was Kevin Daigle, 54, who he described as having “pure evil in his eyes,” rifling through the pockets of 13-year veteran police officer Steven Vincent, 43. Daigle had just shot him in the head with a sawed-off shotgun and was trying to unclasp the officer’s gun.

KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

“He told me, ‘Everything’s all right. Mind your own business. You need to go,’” LeDoux recalled in an interview with the AP.

LeDoux knew what he needed to do. He said that he got out of his Jeep and “I took off running. I tackled him. We hit the ground. I was on top of him and I called 911.” He, with the help of others who joined him, used the officer’s handcuffs to detain Diagle until the police arrived.

Daigle has been charged in the murder of Vincent, who died the following day from his injuries, leaving behind a wife and their 9 year-old son. The police officer was an Army veteran who served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, CNN reports. Immigration Shift Shows India, China Outpacing Mexico

Siddharth JaganathSiddharth Jaganath wanted to return to India after earning his master’s degree at Texas’ Southern Methodist University. Instead, he built a new life in the U.S. over a decade, becoming a manager at a communications technology company and starting a family in the Dallas suburb of Plano . . .

His path is an increasingly common one: Immigrants from China and India, many with student or work visas, have overtaken Mexicans as the largest groups coming into the U.S., according to U.S. Census Bureau research released in May. The shift has been building for more than a decade and experts say it’s bringing more highly skilled immigrants here. And some Republican presidential candidates have proposed a heavier focus on employment-based migration, which could accelerate traditionally slow changes to the country’s ever-evolving face of immigration.

Mexicans still dominate the overall composition of immigrants in the U.S., accounting for more than a quarter of the foreign-born people. But of the 1.2 million newly arrived immigrants here legally and illegally counted in 2013 numbers, China led with 147,000, followed by India with 129,000 and Mexico with 125,000. It’s a sharp contrast to 2000, when there were 402,000 from Mexico and no more than 84,000 each from India and China. Experts say part of the reason for the decrease in Mexican immigrants is a dramatic plunge in illegal immigration. (Read more from “Immigration Shift Shows India, China Outpacing Mexico” HERE)

Xi’s Military Parade Fans Unease in Region Already Wary of China

1200x-1 (1)As Xi Jinping presides over thousands of goose-stepping troops marching down Beijing’s Changan Avenue — or “Eternal Peace Street” — on Thursday, the Chinese president will also proclaim his commitment to the world’s peaceful development.

It’s a message China’s neighbors may find hard to swallow as it flexes its military muscle from the East China Sea to the Indian Ocean. The parade marking the 70th anniversary of World War II’s end — or “Victory of the Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War” — will put on display much of what has frayed nerves throughout the region.

The first-of-its-kind victory celebration will show the world the military might Xi has put at the center of his Chinese Dream for national rejuvenation. The pageant will feature 12,000 soldiers, almost 200 of China’s latest aircraft and mobile ballistic missile launchers capable of delivering nuclear warheads to the continental U.S.

“There is a fairly crude signal to the international community that China is a modern power not to be trifled with,” said Rory Medcalf, head of the National Security College at the Australian National University in Canberra. “But this doesn’t sit well with the anxiety that already exists in the region.”

The parade offers Xi the first chance since taking power in 2012 to publicly present himself as China’s commander-in-chief. It’ll also give him a chance to distract attention from a slowing economy, a stock-market rout and the warehouse explosions in nearby Tianjin that killed at least 150 earlier this month. Wikileaks Founder Claims He’ll Be Killed by CIA Drone If He Leaves Embassy

Assange-601672The controversial Wikileaks founder is so fearful that someone will try to take his life that he no longer uses the property’s balcony, despite having had no fresh air or sunlight for THREE YEARS.

The Australian faces extradition to Sweden on sexual assault charges – which he denies – and has been living at the central London diplomatic residence since 2012, at a cost of £12million to UK taxpayers.

The reclusive figure fears he will ultimately be sent to the US where he could face the death penalty.

In an interview with The Times magazine, Mr Assange claimed it had become too dangerous to even poke his head out the embassy’s balcony doors . . .

He does worry that if he is ever free he could be kidnapped or even targeted by a CIA drone. (Read more from “Wikileaks Founder Claims He’ll Be Killed by CIA Drone If He Leaves Embassy” HERE)

Bill Clinton Sexual Harassment Accuser: Hillary ‘Wrote the Book on Terrorizing Women’

hil-face-1024x682Kathleen Willey, one of the women caught in the crossfire of alleged sexual harassment by former President Bill Clinton and what she characterizes as acts of intimidation to silence her, has taken issue with Hillary Clinton’s remarks last week comparing terrorists to Republicans engaged in a so-called war on women.

“This woman wrote the book on terrorizing women, on terrorism,” exclaimed Willey during an interview Sunday on Aaron Klein’s Investigative Radio program.

Continued Willey: “Her tactics and the things that she set in motion against all the women like me, the ones you have heard of and the ones you haven’t heard of, and the ones who are so scared that fled the country, are terrorist tactics like I’ve never seen before.” . . .

“This is a woman who is comparing the Republicans to terrorists?” Willey asked Klein. “Terrorists who behead women, who deface women, who burn women alive. And on and on and on and on?”

“And I can tell you, knowing what I know, and reading what I’ve read, and having talked to people, other women, who have been in the same boat that I have been in, basically in the crosshairs of the Clintons. The one difference between me and the poor women who are the victims of ISIS and all the other terrorist groups is that our heads are still attached. That’s the difference.” (Read more from “Bill Clinton Sexual Harassment Accuser: Hillary ‘Wrote the Book on Terrorizing Women'” HERE)

She Was Brutally Raped Multiple Times…Years Later, She Went to See Her Attacker for 1 Shocking Reason [+video]

08272015_Monika-Korra-Formal_Facebook-750x563A Norwegian woman who attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, recounts the story of how she was raped nearly six years ago.

Monika Kørra barely spoke English when she was granted a full scholarship to run cross-country at SMU. In December 2009 in the middle of her sophomore year, Kørra was walking with her girlfriends to another friend’s car after a party near the SMU campus – but she never got to the car.

“Before I knew it, I just had someone grabbing me from behind and I had a gun to my head,” Kørra said in an interview with WFAA . . .

After 90 minutes, the assailants dropped Kørra off at a field in South Dallas. Kørra began to cry once she realized she survived the attack. She was naked, afraid, and alone. Ultimately, a man came to her rescue, followed by law enforcement . . .

The Norwegian’s stolen cell phone led to the arrest of Arturo Arevalo, Alfonso Zuniga and Luis Zuniga. Arevalo and Alfonso Zuniga were sentenced to life in prison, while Luis Zuniga was sentenced to 25 years. Amazingly, Kørra is finding it in her heart to forgive her attackers.

“For me, forgiveness is not by any means becoming friends with them… it’s not about that,” she said. “It’s all about finding peace by letting go of all this, and that’s about me.” (Read more from “She Was Brutally Raped Multiple Times…Years Later, She Went to See Her Attacker for 1 Shocking Reason” HERE)

Legionnaires’ Disease in California Prison: Six Cases at San Quentin Prompts Safety Measures for 3,700 Inmates

rtx19kj8Officials at one of California’s most notoriously dangerous prisons Sunday sought to determine the source of a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak. There have been six confirmed cases of the severe respiratory illness at San Quentin State Prison, but none was fatal, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said in a statement.

Since discovering its first case Aug. 26, the prison placed approximately 51 inmates under observation for the respiratory illness. Confirmed cases have been treated at hospitals outside the prison while all unconfirmed cases were being treated at San Quentin’s on-site medical unit, officials said Sunday.

Legionnaires’ disease, a form of pneumonia, is caused by bacteria found in water systems such as cooling towers and is carried via steam, mist and moisture. The bacteria is inhaled and is not spread through human-to-human contact. The cases in California come a few weeks after official in New York City confirmed 12 deaths caused by the disease in the South Bronx, a city borough north of Manhattan.

At San Quentin, officials said they have limited water use at the prison “to eliminate the spread of the bacteria.” Portable shower units arrived at the prison Saturday, which prison personnel have distributed to allow in-cell bathing until normal water use resumes. Inmates also are being served boxed meals “to avoid exposure to steam and mist during cooking operations.” (Read more from “Legionnaires’ Disease in California Prison: Six Cases at San Quentin Prompts Safety Measures for 3,700 Inmates” HERE)
