More than a dozen weapons, including six M4 assault rifles and ten handguns were stolen from a secure vault in the break-in at the United States Army Reserve armory in Worcester Saturday night, the military confirmed.
Both the FBI and local police are investigating the break-in at the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center on Lake Avenue.
The break-in and theft occurred between the hours of 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday, according to Worcester City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr., who said police are looking for one man.
5 Investigates reported the suspect went in through the roof and once inside cut a hole in the roof of the vault. . .
“I’m especially concerned about it,” Gov. By Randy DeSoto. Purported ISIS jihadists issued threats against the United States Tuesday, indicating the group has trained soldiers positioned throughout the country, ready to attack “any target we desire.”
The online post singles out controversial blogger Pamela Geller, one of the organizers of the “Draw the Prophet” Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, calling for her death to “heal the hearts of our brothers and disperse the ones behind her.”
ISIS also claimed responsibility for the shooting, which marked the first time the terror group claimed responsibility for an attack on U.S. soil, according to the New York Daily News.
“The attack by the Islamic State in America is only the beginning of our efforts to establish a wiliyah [authority or governance] in the heart of our enemy,” the ISIS post reads.
As for Geller, the jihadists state: “To those who protect her: this will be your only warning of housing this woman and her circus show. Everyone who houses her events, gives her a platform to spill her filth are legitimate targets. We have been watching closely who was present at this event and the shooter of our brothers. . .”
ISIS drew its message to a close with an ominous threat: “We have 71 trained soldiers in 15 different states ready at our word to attack any target we desire. Out of the 71 trained soldiers 23 have signed up for missions like Sunday, We are increasing in number bithnillah [if God wills]. What Barack Obama Said About ISIS Being Contained
By Lauren Carroll. Last week, President Barack Obama said the Islamic State is “contained” — a comment that has been scrutinized in the wake of the deadly attacks in Paris that have been attributed to the terrorist group.
But has Obama’s comment been taken out of context?
ABC This Week host George Stephanopoulos presented White House deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes with a list of politicians criticizing Obama for his Nov. 12 remarks. Republican presidential candidate and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, for example, said Obama sees the world “as a fantasy.”
Rhodes said Obama was talking about a particular aspect of containment that in no way dismissed the possibility of terrorist attacks in the West.
“The president was responding very specifically to the geographic expansion of ISIL in Iraq and Syria,” Rhodes said, using another acronym for the group. “A year ago, we saw them on the march in Iraq and Syria, taking more and more population centers. The fact is that we have been able to stop that geographic advance and take back significant amounts of territory in both northern Iraq and northern Syria. GOP presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham warned Sunday that “there is a 9/11 coming” if the United States does not play a leading role in a ground war against ISIS.
In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” Graham said he hopes France will invoke a NATO provision that would draw its allies into a war against ISIS . . .
“I’m trying to protect America from another 9/11, and without American boots on the ground in Syria and Iraq, we’re gonna get hit here at home,” Graham said. “And if you don’t understand that, you’re not ready to be commander-in-chief in my view.”
Graham warned that Friday’s attacks in Paris will be repeated — and on a larger scale — within the United States unless ISIS is destroyed.

As a new day dawns, and the people of Paris begin the process of healing, here is what is known. Over 120 people are confirmed dead in multiple, almost simultaneous attacks, by Islamic terrorists. The Greek government has confirmed, according to a Greek journalist on Twitter, that at least one of the terrorists was a Syrian refugee who entered the European Union through Greece.

As of 5:50 PM EST, 60 people are reported dead and more than a hundred more are being held hostage in four, possibly five, simultaneous terrorist attacks in Paris, France.
CNN reports “[i]mmediate suspicion for the events in Paris falls to so-called returnees — people who have traveled to Syria and Iraq and have returned, the officials said.”
“At least six shootings took place in Paris and three explosions took place at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis late Friday, CNN affiliate BFMTV said. Two or three gunmen entered the Bataclan concert hall while opening fire on law enforcement, BFMTV reported. A source earlier told CNN there were six to eight hostage takers, citing a person they were talking to inside the venue.”
The 6-8 gunman who are holding more than a hundred people hostage at the concert all are said to have shouted “Allahu Akbar!” before opening fire on law enforcement agents and the crowd.

China on Saturday welcomed backing from IMF experts that the yuan should be included in its reserve currencies, saying the move would strengthen the world’s financial system.
Now the world’s second-largest economy, China asked last year for the yuan to be added to the elite basket of SDR currencies, but until recently it was considered too tightly controlled to qualify.
It now looks likely the yuan will be formally admitted to the IMF’s “special drawing rights” currency basket at the end of the month, which would mark a milestone in China’s efforts to become a global economic power.
IMF chief Christine Lagarde said the fund now deemed the yuan “meets the requirements to be a ‘freely usable’ currency” — a key hurdle to joining the yen, dollar, pound and euro as a leading unit in international trade.

In any time and place, war is fiendishly simple. It is the ultimate zero-sum contest — you win or you lose.

He shuns the mantle of global leadership that comes with the Oval Office, with an aide advancing the preposterous concept that Obama is “leading from behind.” He snubs important partners like Egypt, showers concessions on the apocalyptic mullahs of Iran, and called the Islamic State the “jayvee team” even as it was beginning to create a caliphate. French jets struck the heart of ISIS-controlled territory on Sunday in the first direct retaliation for Friday’s terror attacks that killed at least 129 people in Paris.
Twelve aircraft, including 10 French fighter jets, dropped 20 bombs on a command and control center, a jihadi recruitment center, munitions depot and ISIS training camp in the Syrian city of Raqqa, France’s Defense Ministry said in a statement. Raqqa is the de facto capital of the Islamic State’s “caliphate” . . .
The U.S. has conducted the vast majority of coalition attacks on ISIS territory up to this point, and has been almost solely responsible for all coalition bombings of ISIS inside Syria. However, the nature of Friday’s attacks, which devastated France and shocked the world, changed the calculus.
The airstrikes came as The New York Times reported that investigators believe that at least one of Friday’s eight attackers had visited Syria, while some of the other assailants had been communicating with known ISIS members before the attacks.
European intelligence officials told the paper that they believed that Ismael Omar Mostefai, a 29-year-old French citizen, traveled to Syria via Turkey in 2012. Mostefai was identified as one of the terrorists who blew himself up at the Bataclan concert hall, but not before helping to murder 89 concert-goers. The husband of a cop killed on 9/11 returned his wife’s posthumous Woman of the Year award to Glamour after the magazine gave the same honor last week to Caitlyn Jenner.
James Smith told The Post he yanked the award off the shelf in his Long Island home dedicated to his wife, Moira, and FedExed it back to the magazine.
Moira, who died at the age of 38 after rushing into the south tower, was honored by the magazine a month after her death . . .
“I was shocked and saddened to learn that Glamour has just named Bruce Jenner ‘Woman of the Year,’ ” Smith wrote in his scathing missive of the former Olympic track star and Kardashian reality-show patriarch.
