FLASHBACK FRIDAY: Ben Carson Endorses a Pro-Gay, Pro-Abortion Candidate in 2014

Ben Carson’s wholehearted endorsement of pro-gay-marriage and pro-abortion candidate [was] utterly heart-breaking . . .

As it turns out, Carson is just another Judas who has no problem throwing lip-service to the preborn and to marriage and simultaneously endorsing pro-gay-marriage and pro-abortion candidates for office. He even gave a speech to lobby for Monica Wehby for the U.S. Senate. His justification of his unconscionable endorsement is what is most troubling to me. The GOP, according to Carson, needs to be big enough for pro-abortion Republicans. He doesn’t have a “litmus test” – not even when it comes to the slaughter of innocent babies. Fully aware of her public positions, Monica Wehby, according to Ben Carson, has “a very good value system.”

Ben Carson assures us she’s “personally pro-life”, but, she justifies abortion in cases of rape and incest and for the health of the mother. She goes further and says, “I believe this is a personal decision between a women and her family, not a woman and the federal government.” Isn’t that a justification of all abortion as long as it is a personal decision of the mother? Military Retirees: You Betrayed Us, Congress

Military retirees are outraged that Congress will start voting Thursday on a budget deal that trims military pensions, calling the move “an egregious breach of faith.”

The Military Coalition, some 27 military groups, wrote to leaders in Congress and President Obama late Wednesday about their “strong objection” and “grave concern” over the budget deal.

The deal cuts pension cost of living raises by 1 percentage point for military retirees who aren’t disabled and not yet 62 years old. Cost of living hikes are automatic raises intended to keep up with inflation.

The problem is, most military retirees are a lot younger than private sector retirees. They enlist in their 20’s and retire in their 40’s. Very few stay on till they are 62 — those who may be lucky enough to escape major injuries at war, or rose to higher echelons in the military system . . .

The average cut in pension payouts, including compounding interest, for a retiring Army Sergeant first class, would be about $3,700 each year, according to the Military Officers Association of America. Over 20 years, the total losses could balloon to more than $80,000. (Read more from “Military Retirees: You Betrayed Us, Congress” HERE)

California Rep: What We Are Witnessing Is the Destruction of Western Civilization [+video]

“What we are witnessing is the destruction of Western civilization, not by an armed invasion, but by envelopment,” Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) said Wednesday during a hearing on Capitol Hill on the growing refugee crisis in Europe.

“What we have seen over the past few months is unsustainable, and if not checked, will change the fundamental nature of European countries which are now being inundated,” said Rohrbacher, who chairs the House Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats.

“What we are witnessing is the destruction of Western civilization, not by an armed invasion, but instead through envelopment. The effects of this will not soon disappear, but instead could well turn out to be an historic change in the nature of many European countries.”

“Migrants fleeing to Europe have been an issue of humanitarian concern for several years, but a wave of immigration erupted into a tsunami this summer when the German government announced it would ignore the Dublin Rules and accept all Syrian refugees that made it to the German border,” Rohrbacher said.

The Dublin Rules are a European Union (EU) law that establishes which EU member states are responsible for taking in refugees from outside the EU. (Read more from “California Rep: What We Are Witnessing Is the Destruction of Western Civilization” HERE)

This U.S. City Has Elected Mostly Muslim Council

Voters [in Hamtramck, Michigan] gave Abu Musa and Anam Miah another term in office. Saad Almasmari was elected for the first time. Now four of the six City Council members will be of Muslim faith.

It’s said to be the first majority Muslim City Council not only in Hamtramck but in the entire country.

“I think that sends a message not only to Hamtramck but throughout the region that people want their representation in offices,” Miah said.

Although there will be more diversity at the table, they want to make clear the goal of public service stays the the same.

“My concern is to give the people, everybody, equal opportunity and be fair for everybody,” said Musa. (Read more from “This U.S. City Has Elected Mostly Muslim Council” HERE)

Sheriff: Obama Is Hallucinating If He Thinks He Improved Race Relations in America [+video]

As for President Barack Obama’s claim that his presidency has helped “mobilize America on behalf of issues of racial disparity,” Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said the opposite is true and Obama is “hallucinating if he thinks he has improved race relations in Ameirca.”

On Hannity on Tuesday, part of the discussion focused on race relations in America under Obama. The host, Sean Hannity, and guests Sheriff Clarke and Geraldo Rivera agreed that race relations had become worse under the current administration.

“But as for President Obama, he is hallucinating if he thinks he has improved race relations in America,” said Sheriff Clarke. “The polling shows otherwise. He’s delusional if he really believes that.”

“Look, race relations have always been tenuous in America,” said the sheriff. “Slavery and discrimination have left an ugly scar on the soul of America, but that scar has been healing over the years.”

“President Obama came along with sandpaper, rubbed it raw, and then poured salt in it to inflame it for political gain,” said Sheriff Clarke. “He doesn’t believe that and neither does anybody else.” (Read more from “Sheriff: Obama Is Hallucinating If He Thinks He Improved Race Relations in America” HERE)

Bill O’Reilly Slanders Ronald Reagan

Donald Trump is just one symptom of today’s cultural pathology of self-validating vehemence with blustery certitudes substituting for evidence. Another is the fact that the book atop the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list is a tissue of unsubstantiated assertions. Because of its vast readership, “Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault That Changed a Presidency” by Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly and his collaborator, Martin Dugard, will distort public understanding of Ronald Reagan’s presidency more than hostile but conscientious scholars could.

Styling himself an “investigative historian,” O’Reilly purports to have discovered amazing facts that have escaped the notice of real historians. The book’s intimated hypothesis is that the trauma of the March 1981 assassination attempt somehow triggered in Reagan a mental decline, perhaps accelerating the Alzheimer’s disease that would not be diagnosed until 13 years later. The book says Reagan was often addled to the point of incompetence, causing senior advisers to contemplate using the Constitution’s 25th Amendment to remove him from office. Well.

Reagan was shot on the 70th day of his presidency. In the next 2,853 days he produced an economic boom and the Cold War’s endgame. Among O’Reilly’s “explanations” for Reagan’s supposed combination of creativity and befuddlement are: He was brave; “on his bad days, he couldn’t work” but on good days “he was brilliant”; Nancy Reagan was in charge; it was “almost miraculous.”

When Reagan’s unsatisfactory Chief of Staff Don Regan was replaced by Howard Baker, a Baker aide wrote a memo that included slanderous assessments of the president from some disgruntled Regan staffers. This memo, later regretted by its author, became, O’Reilly says, the “centerpiece” of his book. On this flimsy reed he leans the fiction (refuted by minute-by-minute records in the Reagan Library) that, in O’Reilly’s words, “a lot of days” Reagan never left the White House’s second floor where he watched “soap operas all day long.” (Read more from “Bill O’Reilly Slanders Ronald Reagan” HERE)

Woman Randomly Bursts Into Flames on Park Bench in Germany

A woman was left fighting for her life after apparently bursting into flames on a park bench in Germany.

According to the Flensburger Tagesblatt and The Local, fire and smoke emerged from the woman, who is believed to be in her 40s and originally from Mauritius, as she sat on a bench in Flensburg, northern Germany.

She has reportedly been left severely burned, despite the best efforts of a passer-by who tried to beating out the blaze with his jacket.

Witnesses at the scene told local media the woman “did not say anything” as the flames engulfed her.

She was taken to hospital and has since been transferred to a specialist burns unit in Lübeck, where she is said to be in a critical condition. (Read more from “Woman Randomly Bursts Into Flames on Park Bench in Germany” HERE)

Is Mount St Helens About to Erupt?

Its scarred and jagged crater is a reminder of the terrible devastation that Mount St Helens wrought over the Washington countryside 35 years ago.

Now a new study of the volcanic plumbing lurking beneath the 8,363ft (2,459 metre) summit suggests the volcano could yet again blow its top in an explosive eruption.

Geologists studying the volcano, which is responsible for the most deadly eruption in US history, have discovered a second enormous magma chamber buried far beneath the surface.

This giant pool of molten rock, which lies between seven to 25 miles (40km) below the surface, is connected to a slightly smaller chamber that lies directly beneath the mountain . . .

They said a series of distinct earthquakes in the months leading up to the massive eruption on 18 May 1980, which killed 57 people, may have been caused by the pumping of magma from the lower to the upper chamber. (Read more from “Is Mount St Helens About to Erupt?” HERE)

Target Closing Over a Dozen Stores, Here’s Why

Target plans to close 13 stores nationwide, including one in New Ulm and two others in Milwaukee and Superior, Wisconsin . . .

Target was hurt by a massive credit-card breach before Christmas 2013 that sent shoppers temporarily fleeing. The company also pulled the plug on a major expansion into Canada earlier this year . . .

Layoffs in 2015 included 2,500 jobs, or about one-fifth of the workers in the company’s corporate offices in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park. (Read more from “Target Closing Over a Dozen Stores, Here’s Why” HERE)

Ted Cruz Just Made an Enormous Move Against the Muslim Brotherhood That Could Impact Obama

The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamist organization founded in Egypt in 1928 that could be finding itself in trouble soon with the United States Congress.

Robert Mueller, former director of the FBI, said about the group during testimony in 2011: “I can say at the outset that elements of the Muslim Brotherhood both here and overseas have supported terrorism.”

Although multiple members of the organization are on the Obama administration terror list, thus far the US has not yet officially designated the Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

That could soon be changing. Republican presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, along with Florida Republican Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, introduced a bill this week called the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act.

Passage of the bill would not automatically designate the organization as a terrorist group. Instead, it would express a “sense of Congress” that the Brotherhood meets the criteria of being a terrorist organization. The State Department would be given 60 days to express whether agrees. If the State Department decides against listing the organization as a terrorist group, it would have to provide a “detailed justification as to which criteria have not been met.”

Five countries – Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Russia – already consider the Brotherhood to be a terrorist group. (Read more from “Ted Cruz Just Made an Enormous Move Against the Muslim Brotherhood That Could Impact Obama” HERE)
