Open Borders Policies Reveal Obama More Interested in Power than Protecting Americans

As Americans awaken to dangers to our homeland, they are losing confidence in President Obama. A new poll shows Americans’ confidence in President Obama’s efforts to keep us safe after the Paris jihadist attacks is dropping.

Jim Simpson, author of “Red-Green Axis: Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America,” has no confidence in the screening or border security policies of the Obama administration. To Simpson, a host of open border policies — including the Refugee Resettlement Program — provide a fertile ground for terrorists to enter the United States. . .

Simpson suggests the rallying cry for congressional Republicans should be a rider offered by Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions on the coming omnibus spending bill. It would, for once, cancel the “blank check” President Obama has for refugee resettlement in the coming government funding bill, giving us “a genuine pause” to ensure our government can protect us. . .

As for the narrative war being waged by President Obama and others against critics of refugees, Simpson reminds us that the Left’s primary counter-argument is always to vilify and destroy their opposition.

The progressives’ goal with open borders, Simpson says, is to overwhelm America with problems while creating a huge new pool of Democrat voters who will only be needed to achieve left-wing goals. Many believe the Left’s efforts to stop voter ID laws, cast as “racist,” is related to the influx of potential new immigrant voters. Muslim Leader from CAIR Tells CNN America Bears Some Blame for Terror Attacks

America bears some of the blame for the bloody wave of Islamic extremism that has brought terrorism to San Bernardino, Paris and locations around the world, according to a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

In a Friday CNN interview, Hussam Ayloush, of the group’s Los Angeles chapter, said American foreign policy has helped fuel the rage that drives Muslim radicals to kill in the name of their faith.

“Let’s not forget that some of our own foreign policy, as Americans, as the west, have fueled that extremism,” Ayloush told “New Day” host Chris Cuomo during a discussion about Wednesday’s terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif., where a Muslim married couple killed 14 and wounded 21 at a holiday party for the county health department that employed the husband, Syed Rizwan Farook . . .

The discussion focused on Farook and Pakistani wife Tashfeen Malik’s indoctrination to Islamic jihadism and a purported backlash against American Muslims in the aftermath of the latest terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Farook, an American-born citizen, and Malik were killed in a shootout with police hours after the attack at the party, held in a conference room at a social services facility. On Friday, Fox News reported that Malik had pledged her allegiance to ISIS. (Read more from “Muslim Leader from CAIR Tells CNN America Bears Some Blame for Terror Attacks” HERE)

Most Idiotic Aspects of the Paris Global Warming Conference

The Paris UN conference, known as COP21, is upon us; a darkening gloom gathers; apprehension builds. It was therefore a tense and important moment Sunday at Charles de Gaulle airport when China President Xi Jin-ping stepped off his airplane into a sea of cameras. The Communist-party approved announcer said Xi was in Paris to “combat climate change.”

This is my entry for the Most Asinine Statement About Global Warming. I admit that it has stiff competition. With politicians, bureaucrats, activists and, bottoming out the list, mainstream reporters converging on the City of Light to try and convince the world that the sky has long since fallen, and that the only way to prop it back up is to spend, spend, spend your money, the idiocy is going to fly thick and fast. My humble entry might therefore not appear to stand a chance. But it’s a sure winner, as I’ll prove in a moment.

But first, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, doubtless upset President Xi had scored first, and, eager not to be blamed for a widening asininity gap between these two up-and-coming carbon-fueled economic powerhouses, retorted that the West suffered from “climate imperialism.”

India needs cheap, reliable, plentiful and almost completely harmless coal to survive, let alone compete with its neighbor to the north(east). But politicians and oil companies are gunning for coal, it being the easiest target. India would be in some pretty deep kimchi if it were strong-armed into switching to more expensive energy sources. So Modi wisely had his chief economic adviser float the imperialism phrase. It’s a short-hand way of saying, “Say whatever you want. You got yours, and now we’re going to get ours.” God bless India.

Laurent Fabius, French minister of foreign affairs, and no piker in the silly sayings department, said, “The coffins containing those slain by les voyous ISIS have been removed from the main meeting hall so the global warming conference can start on time.”

Kidding! He actually said negotiators would be browbeaten into signing an agreement that was “universal, legally binding, durable and dynamic.” This sounds imposing, but that’s because the English translation misses the nuances of the original French. A more careful rendition notes that “durable and dynamic” means “the words on le papier will mean whatever we want them to.” Which is not bad news when you think about it.

Community-Organizer-in-Chief Barack Obama said that the global warming conference would be a “rebuke” to the Allahu Akbarists who bloodied the streets of Paris. Surely he’s right about this. In fact, Mr. Obama might have been behind the recently leaked CIA documents containing top secret chatter from terrorist cells embedded in the Syrian refugees he is so intent on importing to our shores.

One transcript ran:

“Hey, Achmed. They’re going through with COP21 even though we killed all those people.”

“I feel so rebuked. I shall never kill again.”

Meanwhile, ignoramuses who couldn’t integrate ex if you pointed a gun at their heads (and, as we know, this is not now an impossibility) broke an agreement with President Hollande to keep off the streets and ran amok in Paris, taunting les flics to try and stop them. Which the cops were happy to do, squirting tear gas and pepper spray at their large noses.

Now not one of these activists or politicians could tell you why the sky is blue, yet each is certain sure doom is just around the next corner, an apocalypse to be caused by a few stray carbon dioxide molecules released every time we exhale. Their monumental ignorance, coupled with a dose of hubris lethal to ordinary men, is what is causing them to utter such historical stupidities like “We must combat” or “stop climate change.”

Nothing can stop the climate from changing. Nothing. I don’t care how much you care. It doesn’t matter if you confiscated every farthing from every earthing and flung it into the air. It wouldn’t even make a difference if you convinced everybody to jump into a (not-so) giant hole and buried them. The earth’s climate would go right on changing, changing, changing. It cannot be stopped. Not ever.

Whatever comes out of Paris will not make one whit of difference to the climate. To claim that some flimsy piece of paper will stop the unstoppable, or even that we can hold temperatures back 2 degrees C when we can’t even predict what next year will be like, is not science. It is not even science fiction. It is a true French farce. (For more from the author of “Most Idiotic Aspects of the Paris Global Warming Conference” please click HERE)

72 DHS Employees on Terrorist Watch List

At least 72 employees at the Department of Homeland Security are listed on the U.S. terrorist watch list, according to a Democratic lawmaker.

Rep. Stephen Lynch (D., Mass.) disclosed that a congressional investigation recently found that at least 72 people working at DHS also “were on the terrorist watch list.”

“Back in August, we did an investigation—the inspector general did—of the Department of Homeland Security, and they had 72 individuals that were on the terrorist watch list that were actually working at the Department of Homeland Security,” Lynch told Boston Public Radio . . .

Lynch referred to a recent report that found the Transportation Security Administration, which is overseen by DHS, failed to stop 95 percent of those who attempted to bring restricted items past airport security.

“We had staffers go into eight different airports to test the department of homeland security screening process at major airports. They had a 95 percent failure rate,” Lynch said. “We had folks—this was a testing exercise, so we had folks going in there with guns on their ankles, and other weapons on their persons, and there was a 95 percent failure rate.” (Read more from “72 DHS Employees on Terrorist Watch List” HERE)

Bacteria Resistant to All Known Forms of Antibiotics Has Now Spread from China to Europe

Just weeks after the discovery in China of bacteria resistant to all known forms of treatment, the same strain has been found in Denmark. Worse: It’s been there since 2012.

Late last week researchers at the Technical University of Denmark announced they had found the feared ‘invulnerability’ gene among E. coli bacteria samples taken from humans and food. . .

Five more examples of bacteria containing the mcr-1 gene were found among samples taken from food imported between 2012 and 2014.

Danish researchers fear the untreatable superbug is now firmly embedded in Europe. The man suffering the blood infection had not traveled outside the country and the infected imports were German poultry products. . .

What makes mcr-1 such a threat, other than its immunity to all known antibiotics, is that it can spread fast. It has been found to reside in plasmids, mobile ‘packets’ of DNA which can be copied and transferred between different bacteria. Watch: CNN Host’s Observation About Christians, Muslims and Killing in the Name of Religion Might Surprise You

CNN host Chris Cuomo did some defending of Muslims as a whole after last May’s “Draw Muhammad” contest in Garland, Texas, where two armed Islamic militants apparently targeting the event were gunned down by law enforcement . . .

But lately Cuomo seems to have struck a different tone.

This week he relentlessly grilled lawyers for the family of the suspected killers in the San Bernardino mass shooting and grew annoyed at their apparent doubt that the deceased Muslim husband and wife had anything to do with the massacre.

And in a different CNN segment regarding San Bernardino, Cuomo spoke remotely to fellow anchors Alisyn Camerota and Michaela Pereira about an issue news anchors don’t generally bring up.

Congressional Democrats to Attend Prayer Service at Radical Mosque

Democratic lawmakers are planning to attend prayer services at a Washington-area mosque that has been accused of acting as a front for Hamas and that served as the home of terrorist spiritual leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who reportedly mentored two of the 9/11 hijackers.

On the heels of a deadly mass shooting by two Muslim individuals in San Bernardino, California, a group of Democratic lawmakers said they would attend Friday prayer services at the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Virginia, which has been linked to the financing of terrorists and where al-Awlaki served as the spiritual leader.

The Democrats set to attend include Reps. Don Beyer (D., Va.), Joseph Crowley (D., N.Y.), Betty McCollum (D., Minn.), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D., D.C.), and several Virginia state lawmakers, according to the New York Times.

Beyer told the Times that the visit could help diffuse tensions with the Muslim community in the wake of the San Bernardino attack and the recent terrorist massacre in Paris.

“After Paris and after the House resolution a few weeks ago, we just thought it was really important to continue to reiterate to the many, many peace-loving Muslim Americans that they were still a welcome part of our community,” Bayer said. Seattle Bureaucrats Seek to Ban Single-Family Homes, Calling Them ‘Racist’

Do you live in a single-family dwelling? If you do, then you’re a bigot and a racist, according to some liberal whack jobs in Seattle.

As reported by GovtSlaves.info and The Seattle Times, the Seattle city council and mayor have seriously considered scrapping traditional neighborhoods that consist of single-family homes in an effort to drive people into collective housing – apartments and other types of multi-family dwellings – and for nothing as noble, perhaps, as “the environment” (though the reasoning doesn’t matter in a country where individual rights are supposed to trump those of liberal collectivists in government).

A change (that has been rejected thus far) to the liberal city’s zoning regulations, would have empowered the government to authorize the construction of multi-family housing units in all neighborhoods. And while some have labeled the idea nothing more than an outrageous Internet rumor, GovtSlaves.info noted, it is anything but.

“We can still be a city for everyone, but only if we give up our outdated ideal of every family living in their own home on a 5,000 square foot lot,” said a letter from the co-chairs of the Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda, or HALA . . .

“Seattle (single-family) zoning has roots in racial and class exclusion and remains among the largest obstacles to realizing the city’s goals for equity and affordability,” the letter continued, whose authors never cited a shred of evidence to back up their claim and who likely thought that by merely mentioning the word “racism” they could bully opponents into backing down. Scientists Enlist the Big Gun to Get Climate Action

Photo Credit: AP The cold hard numbers of science haven’t spurred the world to curb runaway global warming. So as climate negotiators struggle in Paris, some scientists who appealed to the rational brain are enlisting what many would consider a higher power: the majesty of faith.

It’s not God versus science, but followers of God and science together trying to save humanity and the planet, they say.

Physicist John Schellnhuber, founder of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany, said he has been coming to these international talks for 11 years and essentially seen negotiators throw up their hands and say “sorry guys we tried our best.” And no one protested. But this time, with the power of Pope Francis’ encyclical earlier this year calling global warming a moral issue and an even more energized interfaith community, Schellnhuber feels the world’s faithful are watching and will hold world leaders accountable. Higher Levels of Fukushima Cesium Detected Offshore, Pacific Ocean

Scientists monitoring the spread of radiation in the ocean from the Fukushima nuclear accident report finding an increased number of sites off the US West Coast showing signs of contamination from Fukushima. This includes the highest detected level to date from a sample collected about 1,600 miles west of San Francisco. The level of radioactive cesium isotopes in the sample, 11 Becquerel’s per cubic meter of seawater (about 264 gallons), is 50 percent higher than other samples collected along the West Coast so far, but is still more than 500 times lower than US government safety limits for drinking water, and well below limits of concern for direct exposure while swimming, boating, or other recreational activities.

Ken Buesseler, a marine radiochemist with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and director of the WHOI Center for Marine and Environmental Radioactivity, was among the first to begin monitoring radiation in the Pacific, organizing a research expedition to the Northwest Pacific near Japan just three months after the accident that started in March 2011. Through a citizen science sampling effort, Our Radioactive Ocean, that he launched in 2014, as well as research funded by the National Science Foundation, Buesseler and his colleagues are using sophisticated sensors to look for minute levels of ocean-borne radioactivity from Fukushima. In 2015, they have added more than 110 new samples in the Pacific to the more than 135 previously collected and posted on the Our Radioactive Ocean web site.

“These new data are important for two reasons,” said Buesseler. “First, despite the fact that the levels of contamination off our shores remain well below government-established safety limits for human health or to marine life, the changing values underscore the need to more closely monitor contamination levels across the Pacific. Second, these long-lived radioisotopes will serve as markers for years to come for scientists studying ocean currents and mixing in coastal and offshore waters.”

The recent findings reported by Buesseler agree with those reported by scientists who are part of the group Kelp Watch and by the team of Canadian scientists working under the InFORM umbrella. While Buesseler’s work focuses on ocean chemistry and does not involve sampling of biological organisms, the InFORM scientists have done sampling of fish and have not seen any Fukushima cesium in fish collected in British Columbia.

Almost any seawater sample from the Pacific will show traces of cesium-137, an isotope of cesium with a 30-year half-life, some of which is left over from nuclear weapons testing carried out in the 1950s to 1970s. The isotope cesium-134 is the “fingerprint” of Fukushima, but, with a 2-year half-life, it decays much quicker than cesium-137. Scientists back calculate traces of cesium-134 to determine how much was actually released from Fukushima in 2011 and add to it an equal amount of cesium-137 that would have been released at the same time.

Working with Japanese colleagues, Buesseler also continues to independently monitor the ongoing leaks from Fukushima Dai-ichi by collecting samples from as close as one kilometer (one-half mile) away from the nuclear power plants. During his most recent trip this October they collected samples of ocean water, marine organisms, seafloor sediment and groundwater along the coast near the reactors. Buesseler says the levels of radioactivity off Fukushima remain elevated – some 10 to 100 times higher than off the US West Coast today, and he is working with colleagues at WHOI to try to determine how much radioactive material is still being released to the ocean each day.

“Levels today off Japan are thousands of times lower than during the peak releases in 2011. That said, finding values that are still elevated off Fukushima confirms that there is continued release from the plant,” said Buesseler.

Buesseler will present his latest findings on the spread of Fukushima radiation at the American Geophysical Union conference in San Francisco on Dec. 14, 2015. (See “Higher Levels of Fukushima Cesium Detected Offshore,” news release originally posted HERE)
