Paul Ryan Just Issued A Jaw-Dropping Warning That’ll Have Conservatives Even More Furious

House Speaker Paul Ryan claims that despite rampant unemployment of American workers, opening the nation’s doors to foreign workers is essential to keep American companies in business.

Ryan, a Wisconsin Republican, defended the omnibus budget bill’s expansion in the H-2B visa program in a Tuesday morning radio interview with former Education secretary and conservative author Bill Bennett.

“What it is is, there’s seasonal industries where they can’t find local people to do the jobs: kids are already in college or things like that where you have a surge in workers,” he said.

Ryan explained that the H-2B expansion was designed “to help small business who cannot find labor when there’s a surge in demand for their labor like seafood processing, or tourism.”

“The point is, these businesses would have shut down without this and that’s what we didn’t want to see happen. We didn’t want to see businesses, who are seasonal, shut down because they couldn’t get the labor,” he said.

However, as shown by Economic Policy Institute figures released by Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., “wages were stagnant or declining for workers in all of the top 15 H-2B occupations between 2004 and 2014.” (Read more from “Paul Ryan Just Issued a Jaw-Dropping Warning That’ll Have Conservatives Even More Furious” HERE)

U.S. Experiencing Freaky Weather, Earthquakes over Christmas Holidays

By Steve Almasy. A county in northeast Mississippi was getting hammered by thunderstorms on Christmas, with some areas receiving 10 inches of rain with more on the way, a National Weather Service meteorologist said Friday.

Monroe County residents can expect 2 to 3 more inches of rain after some people in the northern part of the county saw 10 inches since 6 a.m., meteorologist Jim Branda said.

Many roads are flooded and some people are dealing with rising water in their homes, Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said.

“We’re just a mess here. It’s a really serious situation. We’ve got all our deputies out. We’ve got all the fire departments out. I wasn’t expecting this.” Cantrell said. “It’s raining so hard now you can’t see. It’s a terrible situation. I hope the good Lord lets it stop raining for a while.”

Other towns in the South were dealing with similar pain. (Read more from “U.S. Experiencing Freaky Weather, Earthquakes over Christmas Holidays” HERE)

Earthquake Swarms Rattle Nevada

By CBS News. A series of more than 30 earthquakes that rattled the Reno area over the past two days occurred on the most significant fault structure in the area, and scientists are monitoring for potentially bigger shock waves to follow, experts said Wednesday.

The quakes began Tuesday evening and continued into Wednesday morning. The largest — a magnitude-4.4 late Tuesday — shook homes and businesses in a 300-square-mile area near the Nevada-California line.

No significant damage was reported.

Graham Kent, director of the Nevada Seismological Lab at the University of Nevada, Reno, was at home when the biggest quake hit and described it as “quite a jolt.”

I was basically right on top of it,” he said. “In scientific terms, it was a 4.4. But for us, it was one heck of a kick in south Reno.” (Read more from “Earthquake Swarms Rattle Nevada” HERE)

2 Tornadoes Hit Northern California on Christmas Eve

By Maneeza Iqbal. Two tornadoes touched down in Northern California Thursday afternoon — one in El Dorado County and one in Stanislaus County, the National Weather Service said Friday.

NWS determined a tornado touched down in El Dorado County through video evidence it received. They first got reports of the tornado at 3:15 p.m. KCRA viewers reported seeing the tornado just after 3 p.m.

A tornado warning was issued for southwest El Dorado County and northwest Amador County as the storm moved through the area and expired at 4:30 p.m.

The thunderstorm that produced the tornado was moving east at about 20 mph, threatening El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Rescue and Shingle Springs. It’s unlikely the tornado was on the ground the whole time. As the storm moved east, it is more likely the tornado hopped up and down from the cloud.

The tornado traveled through western El Dorado County from Folsom Lake to Cameron Park — a 5- to 8-mile path. (Read more from “2 Tornadoes Hit Northern California on Christmas Eve” HERE)

15 Killed as Tornadoes Rip Across Southern US Days Before Christmas

By Katy Galimberti. On a day when many were putting final touches on holiday plans or traveling, destructive tornadoes struck the southeastern U.S. as severe storms rattled the region.

At least 15 people were killed on Wednesday as a result of the storms in Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas. Eight people died in Mississippi and six died in Tennessee, officials in both states said.

In Pope County, Arkansas, an 18-year-old woman was killed when a tree crashed onto her home. Four other people in the house survived, according to CNN.

A 7-year-old boy was killed in Holly Springs, Mississippi, while in a car with his family. At least 40 people throughout the state suffered injuries.

Northern Mississippi suffered some of the worst damage due to a tornado with an exceptionally long track, according to the National Weather Service. If confirmed to be continuous, its 150-mile-long path could be the longest for a December tornado in the Mid-South, the NWS office at Memphis, Tennessee, said. Here’s What Bowe Bergdahl Claims the Taliban Asked Him While He Was in Captivity… (Hint- It Has to Do with Obama’s Sexuality)

Bowe Bergdahl compared his first year in Taliban captivity — starved, stinking and chained to a bed — to being tossed in a closet and forgotten . . .

Although watching over Bergdahl was a high honor, the guards were often bored and would pass the time by making videos of him, interrogating him with ridiculous questions or shaving his beard into shapes they found amusing, he said.

“They ask you, is Obama gay and sleeps with men?” he recalled. His young guards were also curious about where US military bases got their prostitutes, alcohol and drugs, and were obsessed with American soft drinks, he added . . .

Eventually, Bergdahl was moved to what he described as a wooden fortress and placed in a cell with an open window. By that time he had managed to squirrel away a few objects — an 8-inch piece of PVC pipe, a random key, an empty soda bottle, a nail and a wooden slat — from which he was able to hatch his next escape plan. ISIS Okays Taking Organs of Living Non-Muslims

The Islamic State’s religious scholars have ruled that taking the organs of non-Muslims is permissible under Islamic law to save the life of a Muslim, because killing apostates to eat their flesh has previously been allowed.

The revelation comes in a January 2015 document that was capured by U.S. special forces in Syria in May and obtained by Reuters.

The news agency posted a U.S. government translation of the document attributed to the Islamic State’s research and fatwa committee.

“Allah almighty knows what’s best and knows what’s right and what is wrong and there is evidence from texts and Islamic principles and laws supporting the notion that transplanting organs from an apostate’s body into a Muslim body in order to save the latter’s life or replace a damaged organ with it is permissible,” the document reads . . .

But the document notes that Islamic jurists have “permitted, when necessary, the killing of the infidel combatant or the apostate should one need to consume their flesh for the purpose of saving his own life.” Islamic scholar Imam al-Nawawi, according to the document, wrote about the “legitmacy of killing the infidel fighters and apostates and eating them.” (Read more from “ISIS Okays Taking Organs of Living Non-Muslims” HERE)

FrontPage Magazine’s Man of the Year: America’s Sheriff

For decades, Sheriff David A. Clarke, Jr. put his life and his energies into protecting and serving the people of Milwaukee County. Though always a man of strong opinions, it was when the White House cheered a war on police and pushed through pro-crime policies, freeing drug dealers while locking up police officers that he emerged as a national figure of unquestionable moral authority.

When Attorney General Eric Holder met Sheriff Clarke he sneered, “What’s up with the hat?” Political opponents have mocked Sheriff Clarke as a “big cowboy.” And indeed, the Sheriff of Milwaukee County wears a cowboy hat and he can be seen riding a horse. He also preaches “cowboy values” like speaking frankly and telling people that they have to be ready to stand up to criminals . . .

Underneath that cowboy hat is a law enforcement professional with a degree in Criminal Justice Management¸ who has passed through training and leadership programs at Harvard and Quantico, the former Commanding Officer of the Intelligence Division of the Milwaukee Police Department, who knows both the theory of law enforcement and its grim reality at every level. Along the way, Clarke had earned a reputation for standing up for the men and women in law enforcement under his leadership.

When he fought back against the White House’s war on police, he was doing what he had always done.

“In the early days of this cop hating we didn’t have a voice to counter that message: we are racist, blood-thirsty. We didn’t have a counter narrative which is why I stepped up and tried to be that counter narrative,” Clarke explained. “I realized once I started taking on the attorney general and the president of the United States I was in the deep end of the pool. It is dangerous in the deep end of the pool.” (Read more from “FrontPage Magazine’s Man of the Year: America’s Sheriff” HERE)

Rush Limbaugh: ‘Islam Is a Conquest Ideology, Not Even a Religion’

Earlier this week on his radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh explained why it was his view Islam wasn’t a religion, but instead what he called a “conquest ideology.”

According to Limbaugh, not properly defining Islam for the sake political correctness will be to our own detriment . . .

Can I be honest with you about, say ISIS, or any other jihadist Islamic organization? It’s not about revenge. You might think it is because they’re out dealing with who they consider to be infidels. But the reason they’re such a threat and need to be taken seriously is that militant Islam, jihad, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, you name it, they are conquerors, folks. They’re not getting even with anybody for mistreatment or what have you.

Former Iran Hostages Are Finally Receiving Compensation

American hostages who were held in Iran for 444 days between 1979 and 1981 are finally receiving compensation from the government for their time in captivity.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that a provision in the omnibus spending bill signed by President Obama last week provided for up to $4.4 million to be paid to each of the 37 surviving hostages or the estates of 16 others who have died since their release. The Post reported that the law authorizes payments of up to $600,000 for each spouse or child of a hostage.

According to the Post, money for the compensation will come in part from a $9 billion penalty paid by the French bank BNP Paribas for violating sanctions prohibiting conducting business with Iran, Cuba, and Sudan. The fund will remain open for 10 years so that it can be replenished by future fines.

Lawyers for the hostages told the paper they expect all the survivors or estates to ultimately be paid in full . . .

The hostages had been barred from taking legal action against Iran under the terms of the so-called Algiers Accords that led to their release in January 1981. Perhaps the most famous offer of compensation in the months after their release came from then Major League Baseball Commissioner Bowie Kuhn, who gave them lifetime passes to games.
