Here’s a Recent Presidential Poll – It Will Definitely Surprise You

By Mark Murray. Donald Trump has more than doubled his national lead in the Republican presidential race ahead of Thursday night’s GOP debate here, according to the results from a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Trump is the first choice of 33 percent of national Republican primary voters – his highest percentage in the poll. He’s followed by Ted Cruz at 20 percent, Marco Rubio at 13 percent and Ben Carson at 12 percent. Chris Christie and Jeb Bush are tied at five percent. No other Republican presidential candidate gets more than 3 percent.

Trump’s 13-point lead over Cruz is an increase from last month, when he held a five-point advantage over the Texas senator, 27 percent to 22 percent.

Yet in a hypothetical one-on-one race between the two Republicans, Cruz tops Trump, 51 percent to 43 percent, while Trump beats Rubio in their one-on-one matchup, 52 percent to 45 percent.

In a three-way contest featuring the Top 3 Republicans in the poll, Trump gets 40 percent, Cruz 31 percent and Rubio 26 percent, underscoring the overall strengthen out of the outsider/insurgent wing of the Republican Party. Jeb Bush Makes the Moral Case Against Donald Trump

By Alan He. Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s campaign has a new television ad out in New Hampshire that blasts frontrunner Donald Trump and makes a moral case against his candidacy.

The 60-second ad titled “Enough” highlights Trump mocking a disabled reporter – something the billionaire denies doing, The spot begins with Bush at a campaign event declaring, “Just one other thing I got to get off my chest: Donald Trump is a jerk!” It goes on to show a clip of Trump at a November rally in South Carolina appearing to do an impression of New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski’s physical handicap.

Kovaleski has a condition called arthrogryposis which limits the movement of his arms.

Franklin Graham’s Decision America Tour: Doomed to Failure?

In April of 2015, Franklin Graham began publicizing his Decision America Tour, an aggressive effort to activate the faith community in all 50 states. His stated goals are to pray for the United States and to encourage citizens to vote specifically for candidates who align with a Judeo-Christian worldview. He is also using the tour to persuade Christians to run for public office at all levels, but he has made it clear he will not endorse any political candidates this cycle. He also recently withdrew from the GOP.

Despite my deep respect for Rev. Graham, I believe some of his stated reasons for the Decision America Tour are questionable. First, he claims that as many as 20 to 30 million Christians did not vote in the 2012 election year. While this may be technically true, there is real question whether those missing votes really would have meaningfully changed the election results. Second, Franklin Graham suggests that encouraging Christians to vote will result in them voting for candidates who embrace Judeo-Christian values. This is also far from settled.

Research from 2014 shows that Protestant Christians are in decline and that they are no longer the majority in the US. This means that the missing votes from the last presidential election are undoubtedly also becoming fewer in number as a percentage of the total vote. It is also surprising that in the last presidential election – while more evangelical Christians turned out to vote than in 2008 – an amazing 21% of that total voted for Obama, someone who most would agree largely rejects evangelical values.

Since self-described evangelical Christians can’t agree on who best represents their values, the only way their voting block could make the difference Graham wants is if they could mostly agree on who is best to vote for. That’s unlikely to happen unless the voters have trusted leaders in their faith communities willing to offer explicit direction on – and support to – the best candidate. This is especially important in elections where politicians – like Alaska’s Senator Lisa Murkowski – use millions of dollars of advertising to deceive voters into believing that they are something they aren’t.

Regrettably, Franklin Graham has chosen not to personally endorse any candidates. While the nonprofit organizations he runs (Samaritan’s purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association) are not allowed to endorse candidates, he personally is able to – and should.

That being said, Rev. Graham is likely cautious due to past issues with the IRS. In 2013 he said the IRS audited his ministries after they ran ads in North Carolina supportive of a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

Franklin Graham is absolutely correct that the United States needs a revival and fervent prayer to rescue it. But whether his Decision America Tour will make a real difference in the 2016 elections – without offering specific guidance to evangelical voters – remains to be seen.

Without a doubt, God intervenes in the affairs of man, but generally relies on us as His hands and feet. For Rev. Graham, that is his personal support and endorsement of those who answer his call to action. Such bold action from Franklin Graham and other Christian leaders could make a real difference this fall.

What’s Wrong With Coed Boot Camp?

On January 1st Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus ordered the Marines to provide plans by January 15th for boot camp to go coed. ABC.com reports that “Mabus also warned Marine Corps leaders not to use any concerns about integrating women into combat jobs as ways to delay the process.” The problems with integrating boot camp are the same as those of integrating the combat arms, so the Marines are not allowed to talk about it.

Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter used this tactic when, ahead of his Dec. 3 decision, he put a gag rule on discussing women in combat and the Marines’ 9 month integration study which showed that compared to males in combat tasks, female Marines were slower, couldn’t lift as much weight, were less accurate shooters and retained more than twice the injuries. Now the Marines must comply not only with integration of the combat arms but, suddenly, integration of boot camp, post-haste. Any problems with either will be blamed on leadership and training. That leadership will be purged and purged again until everyone is singing the right tune. If you were interested in what Soviet-style dictatorship looks like, this is it.

As a nation, we already compared separate-sex and coed boot camps and found the Marine Corps’ methods far superior. In the 1999 Congressional Commission on Military Training and Gender-Related Issues, the commission’s chairman, Anita Blair said, “gender-integrated training entails special problems that simply do not arise in gender-separate training. These problems revolve around the difficulties of providing appropriate privacy for both sexes, accommodating fundamental physiological differences, and controlling sexual conduct.”

Sexual Dynamics & a Myriad of (Expensive) Consequences

The Army knows intimately what can go wrong combining young end-of-teen-aged kids together in the formative period of boot camp. Remember Aberdeen? Multiple Army drill sergeants were abusing their authority and having sex with or raping females under their charge. Even when relationships are consensual the damage can be just as great. The expenses are high in time, money and effort to shuffle personnel due to relationships, fraternizing, pregnancy, misconduct and the litigation thereof, let alone the destructive impacts to the personnel themselves and their units. That we’ve come to tolerate this mess in the fleet and other branches’ boot camps hardly justifies doing more of it by forcing the Marines to follow suit.

If there’s one thing that’s primal and unchanging, it’s that men and women are distracted by each other. The second you throw them together they’re checking how they look and competing for each other’s attention. The fallout can run the spectrum from marriage and/or babies to serving in the brig for rape. It’s as predictable as the sun rising in the east, and all the ripples created detract from the objective: training to become the nation’s enemy-killers. Advocates for total integration insist “we’re professionals,” as if professionals don’t hook up and mess up their lives and jobs. Regardless, new recruits are hardly professionals, and boot camp is not an office job. Harassment? That’s boot camp: you can’t train young kids to attack and defend without some touching. A drill instructor’s simple correction or instruction can be construed as harassment when done by the opposite sex.

Having separate boot camps allowed the Marines to postpone or at least greatly minimize the opportunity for all these problems until after recruits had finished their training and earned the title. (The repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell has worked to sexualize areas that were once neutral, worsening these negative impacts. Same-sex sexual assaults are on the rise since its repeal.)

Quotas & Lowered Standards

Double standards for women have been in place since their full integration into the military in 1948 because every time they tested against men’s standards, they didn’t perform as well as the men and retained more injuries. Also, men and women don’t like being treated the same. What’s neutral between men can be considered harassment to a woman and vice versa, and what’s tough for women tends not to be challenging enough for men.

When West Point was integrated and 61% of female plebes failed the men’s physical fitness test (PFT) compared to less than 5% of men, separate lower standards were created for women. It was the same in the Air Force’s Cadet Wing when they couldn’t perform the pull-ups or complete most of the men’s other standard tests. In every branch’s PFT, women have more time to run and don’t have to do as much or the same requirements as men. In 2013 the Marine Corps tried to get female recruits to achieve the men’s minimum three pull-ups and gave active duty females the option to do pull-ups instead of the arm-hang. They dropped the requirement when, in over a year of boot camp cycles training for the goal, less than half of female recruits (compared to 98% of males) could make the standard and only 15% of active duty females elected to do them at all.

Marine General John Kelly is right in saying “There will be great pressure” to lower the standards to accommodate women and fulfill the Obama administration’s destructive policy. While claiming there will be no quotas, Mabus has already demanded an increase to 25% female representation in the ranks. The only way to satisfy that requirement is to lower those standards. They will call them gender-normed “new” standards, and “equal” will be equally lower for all. (For more from the author of “What’s Wrong With Coed Boot Camp?” please click HERE)

Rand Paul, Angry About Debate Exclusion, Literally Flips off the Media

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul gave a literal middle finger to the media Thursday during a radio interview.

This comes after Paul’s low poll numbers led to his exclusion from Thursday night’s main debate stage, which he views as an unfair decision by Fox Business. Paul is skipping the undercard debate and instead hosting a national online town hall.

This Is the REAL Cause for the Rise of ISIS, According to Lawsuit

A lawsuit filed in the US District Court on Wednesday alleges Twitter knowingly allowed terrorist groups, such as ISIS, to use its micro-blogging service to spread extremist propaganda.

According to court documents, defense contractor Lloyd “Carl” Fields Jr. was killed in a November attack while training security forces in Jordan, an attack that ISIS has claimed responsibility for.

His widow, Tamara Fields seeks compensation and for a public judicial declaration that Twitter is violating the Anti-Terrorism Act, which would entitle her to damages if a family member was injured or killed by an act of international terrorism.

A Twitter spokesperson told The Next Web:

While we believe the lawsuit is without merit, we are deeply saddened to hear of this family’s terrible loss. Like people around the world, we are horrified by the atrocities perpetrated by extremist groups and their ripple effects on the Internet. Violent threats and the promotion of terrorism deserve no place on Twitter and, like other social networks, our rules make that clear. We have teams around the world actively investigating reports of rule violations, identifying violating conduct, partnering with organizations countering extremist content online, and working with law enforcement entities when appropriate.

New Benghazi Movie Reignites ‘Stand-Down’ Order Debate

By Rachel Bade. The creators of a new Hollywood blockbuster about the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack are renewing the politically explosive allegation that commandos called to defend the U.S. compound were told to “stand down” — a claim Democrats say has no basis in fact.

With Michael Bay’s “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” set to premiere Thursday, the five surviving members of the six-man Benghazi security team have blitzed the airwaves to promote the film and renew their assertion that a top CIA officer delayed them from immediately answering State Department distress calls. Three even testified to the same before the House Select Committee on Benghazi last spring, several sources have confirmed to POLITICO.

“There is no sensationalism in that: We were told to ‘stand down,’” said former Special Forces Officer Kris Paronto, one of the CIA contractors who fought that night, in an interview with Politico. “Those words were used verbatim — 100 percent. … If the truth of it affects someone’s political career? Well, I’m sorry. It happens.”

Top Democrats on the Benghazi panel, however, said that’s more movie fantasy than reality. (Read more from “New Benghazi Movie Reignites ‘Stand-Down’ Order Debate” HERE)

’13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi’: Film Review

By Hollywood Reporter. Michael Bay’s latest action extravaganza portrays the deadly 2012 attack on an American diplomatic compound in Libya.

The vast and underserved heartland audience that made such a smash out of American Sniper a year ago finally has some fresh red meat to call its own in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. Michael Bay’s latest in-between-Transformers picture actually features just as much action as his giant toy extravaganzas, being an account of the waves of intense firefights that occurred at the American compound in Libya’s second city on Sept. 11-12, 2012. The big selling point of Mitchell Zuckoff’s book about the incident, which cost the life of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others, was its revelation of the hitherto unknown role special ops played in holding marauding local radicals at bay until all American personnel could be evacuated.

But while this adaptation superficially goes out of its way to avoid being overtly political, its patriotic tenor is as unmistakable as its sentimentality. Even if an unmentioned Hillary Clinton has nothing specific to worry about in regard to the film’s content, its mere existence will stir up fresh talk about her behavior regarding the incident, and there’s no doubt that Donald Trump fans will eat this up more enthusiastically than anyone. Researchers: There’s No Such Thing as a Mid-Life Crisis

Most doctors say a mid-life crisis might occur anywhere from age 37 all the way through your 50s, for men and women . . .

But researchers from the University of Alberta in Canada now say a mid-life crisis isn’t real… it’s just a myth!

They followed a group of high school students for 25 years and a group of college students for 14 years.

The participants were all asked the same question at different ages: How happy are you with your life?

They found that as the people aged, they became happier and more secure. (Read more from “Researchers: There’s No Such Thing as a Mid-Life Crisis” HERE)

Anger, Humiliation, Investigation, Violation of the Code of Conduct

Article II of the Armed Forces Code of Conduct states:

“I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.”

Yet, Tuesday, two U. S. boats along with 10 sailors surrendered to the Iranian Revolutionary guard.

And like most of you, over the last day, I have watched over and over again on TV, photos and videos of the American sailors on their knees with hands behind their heads. The Navy commander of the captured sailors is on the video apologizing (An apology Biden swears never happened.) and thanking the Iranians for their hospitality.

“It was a mistake that was our fault and we apologize for our mistake,” said the U.S sailor, who was identified by Iran’s Press TV as the commander. “It was a misunderstanding. We did not mean to go into Iranian territorial water. The Iranian behavior was fantastic while we were here. We thank you very much for your hospitality and your assistance.”

Our groveling Secretary of State, not to be overshadowed by the Navy commander, applauds and thanks Iran for this wonderful new relationship we have with them.

[Listen to yesterday’s interview with the Daily Signal’s congressional correspondent who reports on his conversations with congressmen relating to the Iran fiasco]

It never used to be like that — Admiral Jeremiah Denton.

As a young Navy pilot, Admiral Jeremiah Denton was shot down and became a Vietnam POW for nearly eight years. In 1966, after being tortured and threatened with death if he did not “correctly” answer the questions posed, he was televised in front of Communist dignitaries with the purpose of having him admit to American atrocities. Instead, Denton turned the tables on his captors. He replied, “Whatever the position of my government is, I believe it, I support it, and I will support it as long as I live.”

The Iranians have flashed the images around the world to prove America is nothing but a paper tiger— not much to be concerned with.

As I watched in disbelief, and anger the videos of the sailors on their knees, hands behind their heads, just like POWs or the victims of ISIS before their throats are slit, and of the young commander apologizing, I keep wondering: was he given orders to “stand down,” and make whatever statement the Iranians demanded for their release?

Reports differ on why the boat strayed into supposed Iranian waters: malfunctioned motor, lack of gas, or something else. Nevertheless, clearly the men and boats were heavily armed. They had “the means to resist.” Ammunition and guns were very evident. Did all the guns malfunction? Did their radios malfunction? Was help too far away? Shades of Benghazi.

The Pentagon claims they don’t know what happened; that they are investigating. That’s BS. You mean with all their means of communication, they didn’t have a full picture of what happened within an hour?

Congress should investigate right now. Subpoena the sailors. (For more from the author of “Anger, Humiliation, Investigation, Violation of the Code of Conduct” please click HERE)
