There’s Something Funny About Hillary’s Iowa Victory That Has Many Suspicious

By Jack Davis. Flipping a coin is supposed to be one of the fairest ways of making a decision, with an equal chance of the coin landing on heads or tails. However, when coins were flipped to decide a tight Iowa caucus races Monday night, things did not work out so evenly.

Coin flips were used to decide at least six counties in Monday’s Democratic caucuses, according to a report in the Des Moines Register. Each coin flip resulted in the awarding of one delegate. Using a coin flip to award delegates was not an impromptu decision, but part of the rules when precincts are deadlocked on a decision. As of Tuesday morning, different media sources were reporting different numbers of cases where a coin flip was used. In some cases, the coin flip was recorded on video.

However there was a common thread among all those cases where a coin flip was used. In all six instances where a coin toss was used to determine the winner of the delegate, Hillary Clinton won over Sen. Bernie Sanders . . .

TheBlaze did the math about the outcome of those coin flips and their significance in the overall tally.

“Clinton’s final delegate count was 699.57, according to the Iowa Democratic Party. Sanders’ was 695.49,” The Blaze reported. “If Sanders had won half of the coin tosses and split the six delegates three and three with Clinton, he would have finished at 698.49 delegates to Clinton’s 696.57.” (Read more from “There’s Something Funny About Hillary’s Iowa Victory That Has Many Suspicious” HERE)

Hillary Clinton Has the Most Statistically Improbable Coin-Toss Luck Ever

By Leigh Munsil. One of the most bizarre details to emerge from Monday’s Iowa caucuses was that in six Democratic counties, the ownership of six delegates was decided by a coin flip.

In all six instances, the coin toss was won by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders . . .

Now, get ready to do some math.

In a single coin toss, the probability of calling the toss correctly is 50 percent, or one in two. Heads or tails.

But the probably of winning every flip out of six flips is one in 64, or 1.56 percent. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Has the Most Statistically Improbable Coin-Toss Luck Ever” HERE)

Following Carson Allegations Against Cruz of Cheating in Iowa, an Apology

By Fox News. Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson on Tuesday pointedly accused Ted Cruz’s campaign of spreading false rumors during the Iowa caucuses claiming the retired neurosurgeon was suspending his bid, in a coordinated effort to seal Cruz’s victory Monday night.

The stunning charge came as a Carson spokesman declared, “There has never been a more tainted victory in the Iowa caucuses.”

Early reports that Carson – who was directly competing with Cruz for social conservative and evangelical supporters – was leaving the campaign trail started to surface as caucusing began Monday evening.

Upon hearing reports that their candidate was leaving the trail to return to his home in Florida, Team Carson responded swiftly, saying the retired neurosurgeon was only going home for clean clothes but was then headed to New Hampshire for the Feb. 9 primary. Trump Accuses Cruz of a “Dirty” Campaign

By Caitlin Yilek. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is calling rival Ted Cruz “dirty” for starting a rumor about Ben Carson’s campaign ending after the Iowa caucuses.

“[Ted Cruz] insulted Ben Carson,” the billionaire said at a news conference before a campaign rally in Milford, N.H. “What he did to Ben Carson was a disgrace.” (Read more from Trump’s recent hit against Cruz HERE)

Cruz Campaign Apologizes to Carson

By Nolan D. McCaskill. Ted Cruz’s campaign on Tuesday apologized to Ben Carson for telling Iowans ahead of the caucuses that the retired neurosurgeon had suspended his campaign. . .

Carson had called on Cruz to fire anybody on his campaign involved in spreading the misinformation, which he maintained was announced at caucus precincts and in written correspondence.

“If Ted Cruz doesn’t know about this, then he clearly needs to very quickly get rid of some people in his organization,” Carson told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday morning. “And if he does know about it, isn’t this the exact kind of thing that the American people are tired of? Why would we want to continue that kind of, you know, shenanigans?” (Read more from “Cruz Campaign Apologizes to Carson” HERE)

Ted Cruz Really, Really Wants to Win New Hampshire

By Philip Elliott. Want to know just how badly Ted Cruz wants to win New Hampshire’s primary? He quoted John McCain at a town hall-style meeting here on Tuesday.

A day after winning Iowa’s caucuses, Cruz was on the ground in New Hampshire doing his best to set aside his rivalry with McCain, a beloved figure in this state that has the next-up nominating contests next Tuesday. It was a subtle nod to New Hampshire tradition, but one where Cruz chose not to long linger.

Cruz and McCain have sustained a not-at-all-subtle feud in the Senate after the 2012 election. Cruz says McCain, the GOP’s 2008 presidential nominee, embodies the type of moderate Republican who has doomed the party to lose the White House in recent elections. McCain once called Cruz a “wacko bird” and finds Cruz’s approach to governing maddening. Indeed, he is hardly alone.

But McCain, who won New Hampshire’s 2000 and 2008 presidential primaries, remains a grandfatherly figure in the state and has a cache for having campaigned here hard and personally. Even Democrats show respect for McCain’s attention to New Hampshire and its highly prized first-in-the-nation primary. (Read more from “Ted Cruz Really, Really Wants to Win New Hampshire” HERE)

Generals Say Women Should Have to Register for Draft

By Associated Press. The top Army and Marine Corps generals told senators Tuesday that it will take up to three years to fully integrate women into all combat jobs, adding that women also should have to register for the draft.

The military service leaders repeatedly vowed that they will not lower standards to bring women into the more grueling jobs. But they warned that inherent physical differences and different injury rates between men and women will have an impact on how the integration moves ahead.

The selective service question revealed differences between the military chiefs and their political leaders. Army Gen. Mark Milley and Marine Gen. Robert Neller both flatly said that women should be included in the requirement to register for the selective service at age 18. But Navy Secretary Ray Mabus and Army Acting Secretary Patrick Murphy would only say that the issue should be discussed. Political leaders overall have so far been reluctant to endorse the draft requirement. (Read more from “Generals Say Women Should Have to Register for Draft” HERE)

Marine Commandant, Army Chief of Staff Agree: Women Should Register for Draft

By Melanie Hunter. During a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Tuesday on opening all ground combat units to women, the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Chief of Staff for the Army agreed that it is time to require women to register for the Selective Service.

“Senator, it’s my personal view that based on this lifting of restrictions for assignment to unit MOS that every American who’s physically qualified should register for the draft,” Gen. Robert Neller, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, testified during the hearing, which was titled “Implementation of the Decision to Open All Ground Combat Units to Women.”

As CNSNews.com previously reported, Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced in December that all U.S. military positions–including combat positions–will be open to women. When asked if that means women must register for Selective Service like men are required to do, Carter said, “It may.” (Read more from “Marine Commandant, Army Chief of Staff Agree: Women Should Register for Draft” HERE)

So It Begins Here: U.S. City ‘Overrun’ With Criminal Refugees

More than 120 people braved the snow and ice Monday to rally in front of the Missoula County Courthouse, protesting an effort by the Obama administration and its army of community organizers to plant foreign “refugees” into small cities in western Montana.

One of the speakers was a woman who moved recently to Montana from Amarillo, Texas, which has been inundated with thousands of refugees over the past 15 years.

“Amarillo is overrun with refugees,” said Karen Sherman, who stood and spoke to the crowd amid blowing wind and falling snowflakes. Sherman just moved to Missoula, a college town that serves as home to the University of Montana . . .

The protesters carried signs that read, “Christian Refugees 2 Christian Nations, Muslim Refugees 2 Muslim Nations, That’s Only Fair,” and “Refugee Resettlement Means Big $$$$$ – No Accountability.”

Sherman said Amarillo, a city of just more than 200,000 people, has gang violence that has surpassed that of much larger Texas cities such as Fort Worth. She fears U.S. cities like Amarillo and Minneapolis, Minnesota, could be in line to become the next Rotherham, England, or Cologne, Germany, or Stockholm, Sweden, where mass rapes by Muslim men have gained much attention in Europe. Journalist: ISIS Motivated by Islam, Not Insanity

An article in a pro-Iranian Iraqi daily denounced the widespread notion that Islamic State terror has nothing to do with Islam, stating IS’s belief that “a day will arrive when Muslims inundate Europe and subdue it to Islam,” continuing, “Is this not enough to convince us that terror does have a religion?”

The article, titled “Does terror truly have no religion?” translated by MEMRI, was published in Al-Akhbar and authored by Iraqi journalist Fadel Boula. In it, Boula objects to the claim frequently repeated in the Arab world that IS atrocities are the result of “insanity” and are unrelated to Islam.

Boula asserts that IS and other terror organizations are motivated by an extremist Salafi ideology and their members maintain the belief that their actions represent Allah’s will and directives.

He condemns the idea that IS’s actions are unrelated to Islam as naïve and ignoring the facts, “as though there are no religious goals or values behind [the terror], but only a state of insanity that causes those afflicted with it to run amok, unaware of what they are doing or what [they seek] to achieve by their actions.” (Read more from “Journalist: ISIS Motivated by Islam, Not Insanity” HERE)

Iran Warns US: We Have Even More Embarrassing Footage of Your Captured Sailors

The head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Navy said Monday that if the U.S. seeks to humiliate Iran, the IRGC would release footage of ten U.S. sailors detained last month that is much more embarrassing than images released earlier.

Addressing Iranian lawmakers a day after being awarded a medal by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for the Jan. 12-13 incident in the Persian Gulf, Sardar Fadavi also said his personnel had obtained information from the U.S. sailors’ laptops and phones.

“We have extracted extensive information from their laptops and cell phones,” the state-owned Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying, adding that the material could be made public.

(Listen to an expert analysis of Iran’s action, starting at 6:08 below)

A U.S. Navy investigation is underway. Earlier, U.S. Central Command said that when Iran released the sailors and boats, “all weapons, ammunition and communication gear are accounted for minus two SIM cards that appear to have been removed from two handheld satellite phones.”

In his address in parliament, Fadavi also warned that the IRGC had much more footage of the incident than the material it released earlier – which showed the sailors kneeling on the deck at gunpoint, later relaxing and eating, and one of them apologizing for unintentionally entering Iranian waters. Secret US Flight Flew Over Scottish Airspace ‘to Capture Snowden’

The UK government is facing demands to reveal the details of a secret flight through Scottish airspace which was at the centre of a plot to capture whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The plane, which passed above the Outer Hebrides, the Highlands and Aberdeenshire, was dispatched from the American east coast on June 24 2013, the day after Snowden left Hong Kong for Moscow. The craft was used in controversial US ‘rendition’ missions.

Reports by Scottish journalist Duncan Campbell claim the flight, travelling well above the standard aviation height at 45,000 feet and without a filed flight plan, was part of a mission to capture Snowden following his release of documents revealing mass surveillance by US and UK secret services.

That the flight passed over Scotland, airspace regulated by the UK, has raised questions over UK complicity in a covert mission to arrest Snowden and whether any police, aviation or political authorities in Scotland were made aware of the flight path.

Alex Salmond, the SNP foreign affairs spokesman and Scotland’s First Minister when the flight took place, has called for full transparency from the UK Government over the case. (Read more from “Secret US Flight Flew Over Scottish Airspace ‘to Capture Snowden'” HERE)

House Fails to Override President’s Veto of Obamacare Repeal

The House on Tuesday failed to override President Obama’s veto of a bill that would have repealed key provisions of Obamacare and stripped federal funding from Planned Parenthood.

The 241-186 vote to override the veto fell short of the two-thirds needed, ensuring that the Affordable Care Act will remain in place at least through the final year of Obama’s term. Republican leaders, who have been criticized by Democrats for failing to come up with an alternative to Obamacare, said they plan to craft a replacement plan this year as a kind of preview for what they hope to do in the next Congress.

The vote came just hours after the president met with House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to talk about issues where the White House and Congress might be able to work together. Those issues include criminal justice and mental health reform, the Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership, Puerto Rico’s financial crisis, the opioid epidemic, the Zika virus and efforts to cure cancer . . .

The House voted 240-181 on Jan. 6 to gut Obamacare and cut off federal funding for Planned Parenthood for a year. The Senate approved the legislation in December by using a special budget procedure that required only a simple majority rather than the 60 votes typically needed to approve major legislation. Obama vetoed the bill on Jan. 8. (Read more from “House Fails to Override President’s Veto of Obamacare Repeal” HERE)

Zika Virus Now in US, Here’s How It Was Transmitted

By Fox News. A person in Texas has become infected with the Zika virus through sex, the first case of the illness being transmitted inside the United States, health officials confirmed Tuesday.

Dallas County health officials said the unidentified patient had sexual contact with an infected individual who had returned from Venezuela and fallen ill with Zika. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a statement saying lab tests confirmed the non-traveling patient was infected with the virus.

“Now that we know Zika virus can be transmitted through sex, this increases our awareness campaign in educating the public about protecting themselves and others,” Zachary Thomson, director of DCHHS, said in a statement. “Next to abstinence, condoms are the best prevention method against any sexually transmitted infections.”

The virus, which has been linked to birth defects in the Americas, is primarily spread through mosquito bites, but investigators had been exploring the possibility it could be sexually transmitted. There was a report of a Colorado researcher who picked up the virus in Africa and apparently spread it to his wife back home in 2008, and it was found in one man’s semen in Tahiti. How to Protect Yourself From Zika Virus

By Dr. Clifford Bassett. Here are some tips on how to do it:

• Stay in places with air conditioning or that use window and door screens to keep mosquitoes outside.

• Remove sources of standing water, which can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

• Remember that mosquitoes that spread Zika virus may be more likely to bite during daytime hours.

• Apply insect repellents and reapply as directed. Check with your doctor about what kinds of repellents are safe to use in pregnancy.

Franklin Graham Is Urging All Parents in America to Defend Religious Freedom

The Rev. Franklin Graham is urging parents to vigilantly defend religious freedom after a Maryland public high school forced a 16-year-old student to take classes that promoted Islam over Christianity and acknowledge the Muslim prophet Mohammed as her spiritual leader.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, John Wood, a former Marine, and his wife Melissa Wood, recently filed a civil rights complaint against La Plata High School, alleging their daughter – identified only as C.W. – was forced to spend two weeks studying Islam in a modern history class. In turn, the class covered just one day of Christianity, and did not mention the Bible or the Ten Commandments.

Court documents reveal that as part of the class, the 11th grader “had to profess the Shahada by claiming “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.'”

Students were also required to memorize and recite the Five Pillars of Islam and were subjected to disparaging teachings about Christianity. The lawsuit claims that those who refused to engage in the course would receive a failing grade.

When John Wood, who served eight years in the Marine Corps and was deployed in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, attempted to confront the board regarding the class, he was reportedly escorted from school property.
