Hurricane Irma Rescue: Florida Deputies Save Two People on Boat

Florida deputies rescued two people who attempted to brave out Hurricane Irma in their anchored boat on Sunday, entering treacherous waters as Irma was set to make landfall in minutes.

Martin County Sheriff’s Marine and Strike teams rescued the two people just off Jensen Beach, the Atlantic Coast north of Palm Beach, Sunday morning. It’s unclear why the pair were still out on their boat.

“MCSO Marine Rescue complete. Everyone is safe. Good job everyone,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Twitter with a video of the man and woman walking off the boat.

A video showed the two boats bobbing in choppy water as the deputies were helping the couple onto their boat.

Hillary Clinton Says Election Defeat Left Her ‘Gobsmacked’

Hillary Clinton said Sunday in her first TV interview since Election Day that she was just “gobsmacked, wiped out” after losing the presidential election to Donald Trump.

Clinton, who is releasing a new memoir Tuesday titled “What Happened” that points fingers and accepts responsibility for her defeat, also told CBS News’ “Sunday Morning” host Jane Pauley that she won’t ever run for office again.

“I am done with being a candidate, but I’m not done with politics because I believe that our country’s future is at stake,” Clinton said during the interview at her home in Chappaqua, New York.

Asked how she was doing, Clinton confessed that the loss still stings. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Says Election Defeat Left Her ‘Gobsmacked'” HERE)

U.S. Doesn’t Know What North Korea Is Doing

North Korea openly has been threatening the rest of the world, and specifically the United States, for years. The rhetoric has intensified in recent months as the rogue Communist nation has repeatedly conducted bomb tests and missile launches in violation of international agreements, reveals a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

President Donald Trump, following a Barack Obama tenure in which the danger surged but was unaddressed, repeatedly has warned that Kim Jong-un needs to fall into line and behave, even suggesting military action has not been ruled out.

But a report that has appeared in Politico talks about the situation’s difficulties.

Jacqueline Klimas explains, “U.S. efforts to penetrate reclusive North Korea have been so confounding for so long that the military likely doesn’t have enough accurate intelligence to take out its nuclear and missile facilities even if President Donald Trump ordered it.”

Trump himself seemed to note a certain level of uncertainty, explaining at a White House news conference about action against North Korea, “Is it inevitable? Nothing’s inevitable.” (Read more from “U.S. Doesn’t Know What North Korea Is Doing” HERE)

Ferocious Irma Unleashes on Florida

After days of preparations and evacuations from Florida, Hurricane Irma blasted its way into the Sunshine State Sunday morning, making its initial landfall at Cudjoe Key shortly after 9 a.m. before continuing to head up the western side of the peninsula.

Though earlier listed as a Category 4 on Sunday, the intensity was downgraded to Category 2, as the National Hurricane Center in Miami indicated the maximum sustained winds were at 110 mph, with higher gusts reported.

Florida Power & Light said that about 1.5 million customers were without electricity Sunday morning statewide, and it would take weeks to fully restore power.

A spokesman estimated 3.4 million homes and businesses would lose power once the worst of Irma reaches the Florida mainland.

President Donald Trump declared a major disaster in the state of Florida, making federal aid available to people affected by Irma in nine counties already suffering the impact of Irma. (Read more from “Ferocious Irma Unleashes on Florida” HERE)

Denmark Suspends Refugee Resettlement

Denmark won’t allow any refugees into the country this year under a United Nations program and will seek flexibility in determining how many may resettle in the future instead of a set quota, the Ministry of Immigration and Integration said.

Since 1989, Denmark has pledged to take 500 refugees a year selected by the UN for resettlement. The program is separate from European Union efforts to distribute migrants among member states, which has encountered fierce opposition from countries including Hungary. Soros-Backed Activists Say Pelosi Aiding ‘Fascism’ by Condemning Antifa

Leading anti-Trump “resistance” group Refuse Fascism has condemned House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other critics of Antifa, saying they are abetting the “fascism” of the Trump administration.

The resistance group issued a statement Saturday declaring its support for Antifa and hammering its critics, even as Pelosi and others on the left attempt to distance themselves from Antifa, the violent far-left movement that federal authorities have said is engaging in domestic terror activity. Refuse Fascism specifically noted Pelosi’s criticisms of Antifa, before attacking all critics of Antifa as siding with “fascism.” The statement was titled “Shameful, Dangerous, Wrong Attacks on Antifa.”

“Differences over tactics, where they exist, must not divide the people’s resistance. Distancing and effectively joining in the threats and attack by this fascist regime, and other government authorities, is not only morally bankrupt, it also accommodates and quickly leads to collaboration with fascism,” Refuse Fascism stated.

“To stand against injustice at this moment requires firmly understanding that the attacks against ‘Antifa’ are designed to intimidate, suppress, and divide all opposition to fascism. The threats and attacks on Antifa and anyone else standing up against fascism, especially attempts by the state to brand them as ‘terrorist’ or put them on watchlists, must be opposed.” (Read more from “Soros-Backed Activists Say Pelosi Aiding ‘Fascism’ by Condemning Antifa” HERE)

2018 Could Be the Year Incumbents Are Shown the Door in a ‘Trumpian Manner’

[Editor’s note: We’re posting this story to show how the Establishment continues to hide its players in plain site. The Senate Conservatives Fund has CONSISTENTLY ignored the only true anti-Establishment candidates in virtually every race – except when they have no choice. If they’re genuine, they are incredibly inept and lacking conviction. They elect the very people who have left Obamacare in place. Never give to groups like this; they perpetuate the swamp. Rather, direct your dollars to the candidates themselves]

Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is battling the Republican establishment and the Washington swamp President Donald Trump promised to drain by leading the Senate Conservatives Fund.

The Republican failure to repeal Obamacare was “a vote a whole election can turn on,” Cuccinelli told The Daily Caller News Foundation in this exclusive video interview. Republicans’ broken promises are causing a pronounced riff that jeopardizes a growing number of Republicans seeking re-election next November. Should they support the Trump agenda or vote with the sinking popularity of the Republican leadership and Washington establishment?

The dangers in the current political environment for the Republican establishment are now “opportunities” for scrappy groups like the Senate Conservatives Fund, whose supporters get most animated for defeating incumbents who won’t keep their promises once elected.

Cuccinelli seeks to find the rebels most able to defeat a content-free Republican. He says 2018 just may become the midterms where a large swath of incumbents are shown the door in a “Trumpian manner.” (Read more from “2018 Could Be the Year Incumbents Are Shown the Door in a ‘Trumpian Manner'” HERE)

Trump Will Visit Florida ‘Very Soon’

President Donald Trump said Sunday that he will visit Florida “very soon” as the state continues to get ravaged by Hurricane Irma.

Irma made landfall Sunday morning in the Florida Keys and has caused millions to lose power throughout the state. It has since made its second landfall on Marco Island on Florida’s Gulf coast.

Irma is the second major hurricane in the past three weeks following Harvey’s destruction in Texas. President Trump made two visits to Texas following Harvey’s landfall and signed legislation this week to give $15 billion in aid for the recovery efforts from the hurricane. Trump’s Justice Department Lets Lois Lerner off the Hook

The Justice Department says it will not prosecute former IRS executive Lois Lerner for targeting conservative groups during the 2010 and 2012 elections.

In a letter to top Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee, Assistant Attorney General Kevin Boyd said that after a careful review of the case, DOJ will not pursue charges against Lerner, who oversaw the IRS division that reviewed tax exempt organizations.

“After this process, the Department determined that reopening the investigation would not be appropriate based on the available evidence,” Boyd wrote Texas Rep. Kevin Brady, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Illinois Rep. Peter Roskam, the chairman of the subcommittee on tax policy.

In April, Brady and Roskam asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to review the Lerner case and to consider whether she should be charged with a crime. (Read more from “Trump’s Justice Department Lets Lois Lerner off the Hook” HERE)

University of California President Sues Over DACA Rollback

The University of California became the first college Friday to sue the Trump administration over its decision to rollback the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

UC president Janet Napolitano, who helped form the DACA program in 2012, filed the lawsuit in a federal court, alleging that the Trump administration’s decision violated the rights of the students who participate in the program, reports KTVU.

“Neither I, nor the University of California, take the step of suing the federal government lightly, especially not the very agency that I led,” Napolitano said. “It is imperative, however, that we stand up for these vital members of the UC community. To arbitrarily and capriciously end the DACA program, which benefits our country as a whole, is not only unlawful, it is contrary to our national values and bad policy.” (Read more from “University of California President Sues Over DACA Rollback” HERE)
