Black Friday Posts New Single Day Record for Gun Checks at More Than 200,000

The FBI was flooded Friday with more than 200,000 background check requests for gun purchases, setting a new single day record, the bureau reported Saturday.

In all, the FBI fielded 203,086 requests on Black Friday, up from the previous single-day highs of 185,713 last year and 185,345 in 2015. The two previous records also were recorded on Black Friday.

Gun checks, required for purchases at federally licensed firearm dealers, are not a measure of actual gun sales. The number of firearms sold Friday is likely higher because multiple firearms can be included in one transaction by a single buyer.

The surging numbers received by the bureau’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), comes just days after Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered a sweeping review of the system, which allowed a court-martialed Air Force veteran to purchase the rifle used earlier this month to kill 25 people inside a Sutherland Springs, Texas, church . . .

The breakdown in the Kelley case highlighted longstanding problems within the system, which for more than 20 years has served as the centerpiece of the government’s effort to block criminals from obtaining firearms. Yet it has largely struggled to keep pace with the volume of firearm transactions and still properly maintain the databases of criminal and mental health records necessary to determine whether buyers are eligible to purchase guns. Eco-Terrorist Explains Why She Tried to Kill an Oil Pipeline — Her Defense Is Disturbing

An eco-terrorist responsible for sabotaging an oil pipeline in North Dakota suggested Saturday that shutting down the multi-billion dollar line was necessary to defuse the ticking time bomb of man-made global warming.

Temporarily taking offline a pair of pipelines in Minnesota earlier this year was part of an effort to save the world from fossil fuels, Seattle activist and poet Emily Johnston wrote in an editorial for The Guardian. A judge is allowing her to use a “necessity defense” to justify her actions last year against the Enbridge pipeline.

“As recent months have made clear, climate change is not only an imminent threat; it is an existing catastrophe. It’s going to get worse, and tar sands oil—the dirtiest oil on Earth—is one of the reasons,” Johnston wrote, referring to a spate of hurricanes that clobbered the U.S. earlier this summer.

Clearwater County District Judge Robert Tiffany gave Johnston – and other activists from anti-oil group, Climate Direct Action – the option of arguing the fear of cataclysmic climate change justifies any action taken to stymie oil production and transport. The judge’s decision allows the group to produce various climate experts to testify about the upcoming climate Armageddon.

Most necessity defenses are allowed in instances like when someone is arrested for breaking and entering after hearing a baby crying in a burning building and rushing in to save the infant. The action was justifiable to prevent the immediate harm of another person. (Read more from “Eco-Terrorist Explains Why She Tried to Kill an Oil Pipeline — Her Defense Is Disturbing” HERE)

Nurse Wonders Why White Women Don’t ‘Sacrifice’ Their Sons

An Indiana hospital no longer employs a nurse at the center of outrage over a tweet calling for white women to sacrifice their sons, the hospital announced Sunday.

The nurse in question, Taiyesha Baker, is “no longer” an employee at Indiana University Health after a tweet of hers blaming white women for the evil in the world surfaced this week, according to a statement from a hospital spokesperson.

“A recently hired IU Health employee tied to troubling posts on social media this weekend is no longer an employee of IU Health,” a hospital spokesperson said in a statement . . .

“Every white woman raises a detriment to society when they raise a son. Someone with the HIGHEST propensity to be a terrorist, rapist, racist, killer, and domestic violence all star. Historically every son you had should be sacrificed to the wolves Bitch,” Baker allegedly posted over Twitter while she was an employee at the hospital. Man Who Survived Vegas Massacre Killed in Hit-And-Run

A man who survived the Las Vegas massacre in October died several weeks later in a hit-and-run in southern Nevada.

Roy McClellan, 52, was killed Nov. 17 when he was hit by a car in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas.

He was walking on the roadway when he got hit by a Chevrolet Camaro that fled the scene, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

McClellan and his wife made it out safely when a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on October 1, killing 58 people, his widow said. (Read more from “Man Who Survived Vegas Massacre Killed in Hit-And-Run” HERE)

Actress: ‘If Hillary Won, We’d Be at War’

. . .It is often overlooked that in 2001, Sarandon supported Hillary Clinton’s run for the Senate. There are photos of them posing chummily together, grinning. Then Clinton voted for the war in Iraq and it all went downhill. During the last election, Sarandon supported Bernie Sanders, then wouldn’t support Clinton after she won the nomination, and now all the moderates hate her, to the extent, she says, that she had to change her phone number because people she identifies as Hillary trolls sent her threatening messages. “I got from Hillary people ‘I hope your crotch is grabbed’, ‘I hope you’re raped’. Misogynistic attacks. Recently, I said ‘I stand with Dreamers’ [children brought illegally to the US, whose path to legal citizenship – an Obama-era provision – Trump has threatened to revoke] and that started another wave.”

Wait, from the right?

“No, from the left! ‘How dare you! You who are responsible for this!’” . . .

Did she really say that Hillary was more dangerous than Trump?

“Not exactly, but I don’t mind that quote,” she says. “I did think she was very, very dangerous. We would still be fracking, we would be at war [if she was president]. It wouldn’t be much smoother. Look what happened under Obama that we didn’t notice.” (Read more from “Actress: ‘If Hillary Won, We’d Be at War'” HERE)

Trump Mentions ‘God’ 9 Times in Thanksgiving Message — Here’s How Many Times Obama Did Last Year

President Trump released his Thanksgiving message to the country Thursday morning. The message included a full-throated defense of his policies, the military and the future of the country. The president mentioned “God” nine times and “prayer” twice in his message.

Trump asked the nation multiple times to “thank God” in “prayer” and recalled the story of the first Thanksgiving, where pilgrims and Amerindians sat down together to enjoy a meal and thank God for the bounty of the harvest in the new land.

The president also recalled his predecessors, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who were instrumental in designating Thanksgiving as national holiday . . .

In contrast, in last year’s Thanksgiving message, President Obama mentioned “God” only once and never once mentioned prayer.

‘Jesus’ Dropped From Official Prayer

“Jesus” has been banished from a prayer to open New Zealand’s parliamentary sessions.

The traditional prayer for decades has ended with “through Jesus Christ our Lord,” the Christian Post reported.

The Labour Party-led government proposed a new version of the prayer that leaves out Jesus and initiated a consultation process.

But Speaker Trevor Mallard used the prayer before the period of consultation ended.

The Christian Post said an even more radical proposed change to the prayer was rejected by members of the parliament that removed all religious references. (Read more from “‘Jesus’ Dropped From Official Prayer” HERE)

‘Ignorant Infidels’ in U.S. May Have to Be ‘Forced’ to Accept Islam

Radical imams from Virginia, Maryland and Texas recently attended a fund-raising event organized by an Islamist charity in which they were treated to a smorgasbord of teachings from foreign-based Islamic thinkers.

The prime delicacy was offered up by keynote speaker Habib-ur-Rehman Ludhianvi, a visiting Islamic cleric from Pakistan.

Ludhiavi believes America is a “land of infidels,” whom he described as “ignorant.” His comments are a ringing example of what Muslim leaders say when they are behind closed doors and in the company of other Muslims, as opposed to the public comments meant for gullible infidel ears, security experts tell WND.

The only reason the public knows what was said inside the Nov. 18 conference at a Holiday Inn in Springfield, Virginia, is because the gathering was infiltrated by Ehsan Rehan, the brave Pakistani-born journalist and editor of Rabwah Times who went undercover and captured video and audio.

The keynote speaker, Ludhianavi, is leader of the Islamic seminary Dar-ul-Uloom, which is based in Pakistan but operates branches in the United States, Canada and the U.K., including one in St. Paul, Minnesota, that opened in a former Catholic church in 2014. There’s another in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and others in Warren, Michigan, and San Bernardino, California. (Read more from “‘Ignorant Infidels’ in U.S. May Have to Be ‘Forced’ to Accept Islam” HERE)

Ivanka Trump Weighs in on Controversy Surrounding Malia Obama

Former first daughter Malia Obama has received some harsh criticism this week from across the political spectrum for some of her actions on campus at Harvard University.

The college freshman’s behavior, including a kiss and a short video clip apparently showing her exhale smoke, have been scrutinized by some right-leaning political blogs and a number of social media users.

Counteracting those critics, however, have been scores of comments imploring them to let the 19-year-old experience college life privately.

Among those making that case are two women who can uniquely relate with her position: Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton.

The current and former first daughters each posted tweets in the wake of the backlash against Obama making their case for leaving her out of the spotlight.

Trump wrote that Obama’s life should be “OFF limits” to the media, adding she should be afforded the same privacy as her Harvard peers.

Clinton shamed the media outlets who ran stories about Obama, writing that her college experiences should not end up as their “clickbait.”

Their sentiments were echoed by many others, with supportive comments far outpacing critical ones.

Along with countless private citizens, several celebrities also spoke out in her defense, as USA Today reported.

“Let Malia live,” wrote hip-hop artist Common.

Some took it a step further with political jabs aimed at the confirmed and alleged actions of President Donald Trump’s adult children.

Still, Twitter users finding fault with Obama’s behavior for a number of reasons were able to have their voices heard, and in many cases amplified.

Some of the more extreme reaction revolved around the fact that Obama was seen kissing a young white man.

The U.K. Telegraph identified the man seen kissing Obama as Rory Farquharson, also a student at Harvard. (For more from the author of “Ivanka Trump Weighs in on Controversy Surrounding Malia Obama” please click HERE)
