CAIR Attempts to Blame Trump for New Zealand Massacre

By ABC News. A top Muslim organization is blasting President Donald Trump after a mass shooting at two mosques in New Zealand left 49 people dead and dozens more injured.

“During your presidency and during your election campaign, Islamophobia took a sharp rise and attacks on innocent Muslims, innocent immigrants and mosques have skyrocketed,” Nihad Awad the Executive Director and co-founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, said at a press conference.

Police in New Zealand say the alleged gunman, described as being in his late 20s, opened fire inside a mosque in Christchurch and that a shooting at a different mosque killed a total of at least 49 worshipers gathered for Friday prayers. Authorities say a lengthy online document, posted after the shooting and linked to the alleged gunman’s video of the shooting, praised other mass shooters, advocated white supremacy and detailed hatred for immigrants.

“We hold you responsible for this growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the country and in Europe, but we also do not excuse those terrorist attackers against minorities at home and abroad,” he continued. (Read more from “CAIR Attempts to Blame Trump for New Zealand Massacre” HERE)

New Zealand Terrorist Attack Suspect Grins in Court

By Al Jazeera. The Australian suspect arrested after dozens of worshippers were gunned down in two mosques appeared unrepentant in court in New Zealand on Saturday, staring down media members with a smirk on his face.

Brenton Tarrant, 28, appeared in a Christchurch District Court and was charged with murder. He was remanded without a plea until his next appearance in the South Island city’s High Court on April 5.

Handcuffed, shoeless, and wearing a white prison suit, Tarrant did not speak. His court-appointed lawyer made no application for bail or name suppression.

He made an “okay” hand gesture during his court appearance, a symbol often used for signalling support for the white supremacist ideology. . .

“He came into court, he didn’t say anything at all. He stood there looking directly at the media in the courtroom and was smirking throughout his appearance,” Thomas reported. (Read more from “New Zealand Terrorist Attack Suspect Grins in Court” HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez Favorability Inches up — but the Same Poll Has Very Bad News for Her

By The Blaze. In a new poll released on Friday, the upstart congresswoman showed a small improvement in her favorability rating, but also a large leap in her unfavorability rating.

Of Americans polled by the survey, 31 percent said that they saw her favorably, an increase of 7 percentage points from September when 24 percent said they saw her favorably.

However, about 41 percent saw her in an unfavorable light, a leap of 15 percentage points from 26 percent in September.

The Socialist Democrat shocked the political world in 2018 when she defeated a Democratic party boss in the primary for New York’s 14th congressional district.

Since then she has used her social media savvy to push the party to the far left, garnering high praise from progressives but also facing scorn from party establishment loyalists. (Read more from “Ocasio-Cortez Favorability Inches up — but the Same Poll Has Very Bad News for Her” HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez Hits NRA After New Zealand Shooting: ‘What Good Are Your Thoughts and Prayers?’

By The Hill. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Friday tore into the National Rifle Association (NRA) after at least one gunman opened fire at two New Zealand mosques, leaving at least 49 people dead.

The New York lawmaker condemned the fatal attack on Twitter, focusing her message on the American gun group.

At 1st I thought of saying, ‘Imagine being told your house of faith isn’t safe anymore.’ But I couldn’t say ‘imagine,’” the lawmaker wrote, citing the deadly shootings at a Charleston, S.C., church, a Pittsburgh synagogue and a Sutherland Springs, Texas, church.

“What good are your thoughts & prayers when they don’t even keep the pews safe?” She added.

Ocasio-Cortez noted that “thoughts and prayers” is a reference to the NRA phrase she says is “used to deflect conversation away from policy change during tragedies.” (Read more from “Ocasio-Cortez Hits NRA After New Zealand Shooting: ‘What Good Are Your Thoughts and Prayers?'” HERE)

Trump Vetoes Resolution to Block National Emergency

President Donald Trump vetoed a resolution Friday that sought to block his national emergency declaration to fund the southern border wall, according to The New York Times.

After Democrats and 12 Republican senators supported the resolution to block the declaration, President Trump immediately issued the first veto of his presidency, calling the resolution “dangerous” and “reckless.”

“It is a dangerous resolution that would undermine United States sovereignty and threaten the lives and safety of countless Americans,” President Trump said in a White House statement. “It is, therefore, my duty to return it to the House of Representatives without my approval.” . . .

President Trump said he was not bothered by the number of Republicans who opposed his national emergency declaration, because he knew there weren’t enough votes in Congress to override a veto.

“They’re doing what they have to do, and I put no pressure on anybody,” President Trump said. “I actually said, ‘I could have gotten some of them to come along.’ I said, ‘I want for you to vote your heart. Do what you want to do. I’m not putting any pressure.’ … I didn’t need the votes. We all knew it’s going to be a veto, and there’s not going to be an override.” (Read more from “Trump Vetoes Resolution to Block National Emergency” HERE)

Whistleblower Exposes Google’s Religious Bias in Labeling Christian Videos ‘Homophobic’

Whistleblower and Google software engineer Mike Wacker revealed evidence that the human resources department of the giant corporation exhibits bias against Christians, labeling Christian YouTube ads “homophobic.”

Wacker tweeted Wednesday, “Let me give an example related to religion this time, one where HR is involved in describing sincere religious beliefs as ‘homophobic.’” He referred to two videos that LGBT advocates regarded as objectionable, thus complaining to Google, which owns YouTube.

Wacker included in his tweet a video by Christian radio host Dr. Michael Brown “Can You Be Gay and Christian?” and one by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) titled “Barronelle Stutzman’s Story.” Homosexualist objections stemmed from a 2018 story in PinkNews about LGBT activist and author Gaby Dunn, who had asked fans whether they had seen any “anti-LGBT” ads on her YouTube videos. . .

In retaliation for the perceived offense on the part of LGBT advocates, Google ruled that Brown’s video violated its policies for advertisements on its platform. He was barred from paying YouTube to promote his video. Currently, his video does not appear as an advertisement before any other video on YouTube.

Brown explained to LifeSiteNews that YouTube has demonetized his video channel where he has posted 1,600 videos explaining Biblical and Christian teachings on issues ranging from abortion to sexuality. He wrote that there is no appealing YouTube’s decision.

U.S. Town Becomes ‘Sanctuary City for the Unborn’

The City Council of Roswell, New Mexico passed a resolution Thursday declaring its jurisdiction to be in support of “fetal life,” something local pro-life activists say makes Roswell a “sanctuary city for the unborn.”

In a seven to one vote, with one council member abstaining, the City Council passed Resolution 19-28, which declares “that innocent human life, including fetal life, must always be protected and that Society must protect those who cannot protect themselves.”

The resolution also states that the City Council declares “its opposition to any diminution by the New Mexico Legislature of the limitations on abortion” and “honors the rights of healthcare providers to object on moral grounds to performing abortions and opposes any regulation or law seeking to violate that right.”

This week, the New Mexico Senate was considering a pro-abortion bill that would have forced doctors to commit abortions. It also would have repealed old, unenforced sections of the law criminalizing abortion – preparation for a possible overturning of Roe v. Wade. New Mexico is home to an infamous late-term abortion facility, Southwestern Women’s Options, and has some of the loosest abortion laws in the country. Southwestern Women’s Options commits abortions throughout the third trimester of pregnancy. (Read more from “U.S. Town Becomes ‘Sanctuary City for the Unborn'” HERE)

All-Female Court Panel Overturns Rape Conviction Because Woman Is Too Ugly to Be Credible Victim

Three female judges in an appeals court in Italy overturned a 2015 rape conviction in part because the victim in question was deemed too ugly to have been raped. The alleged victim, then 20 years old, was not found to be a credible rape victim because she was too unattractive and “masculine,” according to the three female judges. The Daily Mail reports:

Two Peruvian men were initially convicted of the 2015 rape of a Peruvian woman in Ancona, but the Italian appeals court overturned the verdict and absolved them, finding that she was not a credible witness. In part of the ruling, the court noted that the suspects had found her unattractive and too “masculine” to be a credible rape victim.

The conviction was overturned by an all-female panel in 2017 despite medics reportedly claiming the woman’s injuries were consistent with rape. The details concerning the reasoning behind the overturned conviction only became public earlier this month, however, according to The Daily Mail. “The Court of Cassation said Wednesday its own reasons for ordering the retrial will be issued next month,” noted the outlet. . .

The lawyer said the judges who overturned the conviction claimed his client was not credible because the men she accused “didn’t find her attractive, she was too masculine.”

Molinaro also said that the female judges further supported their ruling by noting that one of the accused men “saved the woman’s number in his phone as ‘Viking,’ and stated that the ‘photograph present in her file would appear to confirm this,’” CNN reports. Aunt Becky Booted From ‘Fuller House’ for College Bribery Scandal

Page Six reports that Netflix has removed Aunt Becky from “Fuller House,” the spin-off to the ’90s sitcom “Full House” that made stars of John Stamos and the Olsen twins. “The streaming service has booted actress Lori Loughlin from her role in ‘Fuller House’ in the wake of this week’s college admissions scandal,” reports the outlet. . .

Loughlin being dropped from the iconic show that catapulted her to success comes one day after the Hallmark channel announced she would no longer be a featured talent.

“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations,” Hallmark Channel’s parent-company Crown Media said in a statement to Fox News. “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin, including ‘Garage Sale Mysteries,’ an independent third-party production. We are evaluating all creative options related to ‘When Calls the Heart’ series.”

Loughlin was released from police custody on a $1 million bond this week after being charged for participating in a massive college bribery scheme the FBI code-named “Operation Varsity Blues.” She and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, have been accused of “agreeing to pay $500,000 in bribes to have their two daughters designated as recruits for the University of Southern California crew team,” according to a Fox News report on Thursday.

As a result of the charges, E News reports that a source says Loughlin and her husband’s life has become a “terrible nightmare,” with the family now living in seclusion. (Read more from “Aunt Becky Booted From ‘Fuller House’ for College Bribery Scandal” HERE)

Here’s the Latest Development of the Jussie Smollett Hoax

“Empire” actor Jussie Smollett pleaded not guilty in a Chicago courtroom Thursday to 16 charges stemming from an alleged hate crime hoax.

Smollett’s lawyer, Tina Glandian, entered the plea on Smollett’s behalf just hours after Judge Steven Watkins was assigned the case. The next court date was scheduled for April 17.

Smollett was initially charged with one count of lying to the authorities on Feb. 20. Last week, a grand jury indicted Smollett on 16 felony counts of lying to authorities — eight counts for what he told the officer who responded to the report of the Jan. 29 attack in downtown Chicago, and eight counts for what he later told a detective about being the victim of a brutal racist and homophobic beating by two masked men. . .

Adding another plot twist to the Smollett saga is a new USA Today report that claims that, at the urging of a former senior Obama administration official, Chicago’s top prosecutor asked cops to turn over their investigation to the FBI.

Tina Tchen, who worked as former first lady Michelle Obama’s chief of staff and is the co-founder of the Times Up Legal Defense Fund, contacted State’s Attorney Kim Foxx by text on Feb. 1 and said Smollett’s family had “concerns” about the investigation. The U.S. Senate Votes for Open Borders

The United States Senate passed a resolution in support of open borders Thursday.

It was disguised, of course, as a deep-seated concern for constitutional integrity in the face of President Trump’s emergency declaration to secure the southern border.

Haha. Constitutional integrity. That’s a good one. But on the scale of “don’t pee on me and tell me it’s raining,” this goes all the way up to 11.

The 12 Republicans who joined the Democrat minority in the Senate to disapprove of “dangerous precedents” being set haven’t batted much of an eye (cheap rhetoric doesn’t count) when baby-killing budgets have been passed, federal deficits have been exploded beyond rationality, gender has been redefined, religious freedom has been threatened, socialist medicine has been codified, and courts have become the “more equal than all the others” branch of government.

They have watched and watched and watched and watched as the fundamental duties of Congress have been traded away for a bowl of porridge. When Jacob betrayed Esau, he got a birthright. But the Republicans in Congress can never help but get their Esau on. A birthright would be too much work. Porridge is better.

And now with the help of the magic “Rs,” the well-documented flood of illegal immigration across the southern border is not only being ignored but actually protected with the insistence that do so is a constitutional prerogative.

I’m sorry, guys and gals. But there is simply no objective way to tell any more that you actually care about the Framers’ intent about anything. Just as Congress refuses to build a wall on the border, they have refused to build walls against authoritarian usurpation by the bureaucrats and the black-robed tyrants for decades.

Now they want to claim that Trump is actually the authoritarian who needs to be checked. But he’s a symptom of years of malfeasance, not a proximal cause of our current reality. Had Republicans cared about the Constitution and acted accordingly since Reagan left the scene, Trump wouldn’t have a border problem to solve. Heck, had Republicans cared about the Constitution and acted accordingly since Reagan, there would’ve never been a President Trump at all.

A story from the legend of Davy Crockett cautioned us against our current plight a very long time ago. Before dying at the Alamo, Crockett was a congressional representative from Tennessee in the earlier 1800s and refused to support an appropriations bill that would give the widow of a fallen naval officer monetary compensation from Congress’ purse.

It wasn’t that he was heartless, he explained. In fact, a few years earlier he had attempted to provide similar fiscal compensation from the public trough to families whose homes had been destroyed by a fire. Yet it was then that he learned a vital lesson from a wise farmer, who basically pulled him aside and told him to “stay in your lane, bro.”

More specifically, the farmer, Horatio Bunce, said, “If you have the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and, as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other.”

Well, here we are in 2019, and robbing people clearly seems to be what Congress is best at. Robbing them of a truly representative government of limited powers and God-ordered wisdom and justice.

In its place, we have faux constitutional virtue-signaling. It is pathetic. It is criminal. It is insane. It’s also #FakeNews.

These Republicans aren’t for the Constitution. They’re for open borders. Always have been, always will be. Esau’s bowl isn’t full of porridge, but donor class dollars. And there is nothing the GOP donor class cares about more than open borders and the flood of cheap labor that comes with it. They care more about labor costs today than cultural costs tomorrow. So they pretend they’re doing this because orange man bad. But really it’s because those Chamber of Commerce greenbacks are good.

This party isn’t a big tent. It’s a big scam. (For more from the author of “The U.S. Senate Votes for Open Borders” please click HERE)

Two Killed in High-Speed Car Chase of Cartel Smugglers in Texas

The cascading effects of death, destruction, and tragedy as a result of not holding the line at our border are too numerous to count. One of those effects that goes unreported in the national media is the number of people who are endangered in south Texas from high-speed chases between law enforcement and cartel smugglers at our border.

On Wednesday, two innocent bystanders were killed when an alien smuggler transporting a group of illegal aliens in a Ford Explorer lost control of the vehicle during a high-speed chase with Texas state troopers and crashed into innocent motorists on the other side of U.S. Highway 83 in La Joya. Leonel Martinez Jr., 45, and Aurora Sanchez, 69, were in the Nissan that got struck. Now two Americans are dead, five illegal alien passengers are injured, and the smuggler is still on the loose because he managed to survive the crash and bail out on the side of the road.

Last week, I wrote about the concerns of some ranchers that our government employs a “depth in defense” strategy of waiting for cartel smugglers to cross into the country and then attempting to apprehend them. The problem with not putting the Border Patrol or the military on the border line itself is that the cartels have already gamed out how to succeed at evading the checkpoints once they successfully step foot on our soil with the use of pickups and “bailouts.”

Jaseson Jones, retired captain with the Texas Department of Public Safety, commanded a counter-smuggling team in south Texas and dealt with this problem all the time. “Bailouts are a non-recorded crime incident which are a direct result of an unsecure border,” said Jones. “The way it works is after a vehicle is stolen, it will be driven to the border by those in the network already in our country. People who just crossed into the United States illegally between the ports of entry (POE) will be stacked on top of one another in the cab and in the bed. It is very common to have twenty or thirty people in a truck. The goal is to make it to a stash house before law enforcement can intercept it. If law enforcement locates the vehicle, a high-speed pursuit will be initiated. Often the smuggler will drive off the road and … crash, with the occupants bailing out and running in every direction. Hence the term bailout.”

The bailout strategy and all the dangers inherent in it are another reason why the border needs to be secured at the line itself, according to Jones. “The solution to stop these incidents and many other types of non-recorded crimes that occur as a direct result of an unsecure border is for Border Patrol to hold the line across the southwest border. Stop responding to sensor hits and utilizing an outdated investigative model.”

The effects of the cartel activity being allowed to violate our sovereignty well into our territory are felt by counties that aren’t even right on the border. In an interview with CR, Sheriff Benny Martinez of Brooks County, Texas, just north of Hidalgo County, where this latest smuggling wreck fatality took place, noted that he deals with the secondary effects of the smugglers getting in to the country even 65-70 miles from the border. He believes that when you don’t place more assets at the border itself, it turns the rest of the counties into border counties. “We’ve been playing a losing battle for quite some time by not holding the line at the border and putting more resources and infrastructure into stopping the smugglers at the border itself,” he said.

He explained how the cartels send down their existing associates in big cities like Houston and San Antonio and pick up these new illegal crossers and drug traffickers before Border Patrol can apprehend them further up at the checkpoints. Then they travel north into his county and bail out before the Border Patrol checkpoint in Falfurrias, the last CBP checkpoint in Texas headed north, and disappear into the brush. This forces federal, state, and local law enforcement to expend a tremendous amount of resources to get a few criminals, often creating dangerous situations with high-speed chases. We wind up catching few of them and wasting resources; innocent people get killed in the process, and the cartels get what they want, all the while extending the border problems very far north into our territory.

“I’ve been personally involved in these pursuits many times where the driver gets away, but innocent people are killed as a result of them evading police presence,” said the sheriff of what should be a quiet county of 7,000 people. “We’ve had three of these fatal incidents in my county, 65-70 miles from the border. It always seems like the cartel drivers survive and get away and kill innocent people. As long as the border is not secured as it should be, that is going to continue. We need a barrier right near the river and the personnel with it where we can intercept them before they get on conveyances and vehicles and before they get put in stash houses and held against their will. These are humans we’re talking about, and they are getting killed as a result of an insecure border.”

Without this infrastructure, personnel, and proactive strategy to stop the cartel smuggling at the river, his county, which should be a quiet rural haven for ranchers, becomes a transnational criminal smuggling zone. “They evade our checkpoints by means of walking through the brush and get picked up in certain other areas. Without enough agents on the ground to intercept them at the line, we’re going to have these dangerous pursuits. And the criminal element knows that, more than likely, they will get their load through. Just 10 days ago, we had a standoff with a truck who was going 130 miles down highway 281 and they got away. We have no idea what was in the vehicle, and without the correct resources at the border, this is going to continue.”

Sherriff Martinez also lamented the dead bodies that his county has to deal with when they are left behind to die in the harsh brush on private lands. According to the latest Border Operations Sector Assessment put out by the Texas Rangers, “From 2009 to the present, human remains have been found in Brooks County 641 times.” The sheriff feels that those in Washington have no clue what they are dealing with in south Texas. “Because of the line not being supported between the ports of entry, the deaths, crashes, and stash houses will continue.”

Here is a short report from Fox Houston in 2014 on what Brooks County must deal with in terms of bailouts and bodies and how it taxes their resources and harms private land.

Jaeson Jones, who used to command the Texas Ranger division that published the Border Operations Sector Assessment, told me that they are seeing cartel bailouts occurring “as far north as Oklahoma.”

As the Rio Grande Sector continues to experience record traffic, more than 1,500 individuals in one 24-hour period this week, all the counties just north of the border will continue to experience the residual effects. As the border agents are busy processing the Central Americans, the cartels have a lot of latitude to send in their loads and dangerous criminals to burden the rest of Texas’ state and local law enforcement.

Consequently, while all American communities are dealing with the effects of the cartels and criminal aliens, counties well north of the border are also dealing with the direct primary and secondary effects of the actual smuggling in its first cross-border stage. This is because, as Jones notes, we treat the cartels and illegal immigration like “any other domestic investigative crime rather than an invasion.”

Again, we need to build a wall, but we also need to build a will as a nation: A will to do everything it takes to secure every inch of our sovereignty at the line of scrimmage while also empowering ICE to deport the cartel networks in the bigger cities that help facilitate these smugglers from farther north. We have criminal alien networks running rampant in the cities and new illegal aliens with free rein to walk through our border to get picked up before they are ever discovered by agents.

We need the military at the border until the wall is fully built. As Jones told me, “In areas where manpower is not available or limited, Border Patrol will need to collaborate with private, local, state, federal, and Department of Defense partners or do whatever is required to gain operational control of our southwest border.”

Obviously, the wall, as I’ve noted before, will not help one iota against the lawfare of Central Americans surrendering themselves for amnesty, but it will help combat this sort of cartel smuggling activity. Why should there be a 70-mile buffer zone of our own land exposed to the cartel activities? Shouldn’t every inch of our territory be safe from foreign threats, and shouldn’t the buffer zone be on the southern side of the border? We secure other country’s borders. Why not our own?
