Watch: De Blasio Quotes Communist Terrorist, Democrats Demand Apology

Democrat presidential candidate Bill de Blasio quoted communist terrorist Che Guevara on Thursday while speaking during a union rally at Miami International Airport, which prompted Democrats to demand that he apologize.

De Blasio “dropped Che’s most famous quote as he joined workers who walked off the job in protest of poor conditions and compensation,” the Miami Herald reported. “Before giving up the microphone to the next speaker, de Blasio blurted a quote from one of the most hated historical figures throughout Miami: ‘Hasta la victoria, siempre.'”

“The phrase — which translates roughly to ‘Ever on to victory!’ — was a mantra for Guevara, who became one of Fidel Castro’s top lieutenants,” the Herald added. “Raul Castro uttered the quote on Cuban television when he announced to the world that his older brother had died.” . . .

Democrat Florida State Senator José Javier Rodríguez, whose district includes Little Havana, demanded that De Blasio apologize for quoting communist terrorist Che Guevara.

Terry Rizzo, who is the chair of the Florida Democratic Party, tweeted: “Mayor Bill DeBlasio does not speak for Floridians or the Florida Democratic Party and he would be wise to apologize.”

Google Analytics Suggest a Surprising Winner of the First Democrat Debate; As Expected, 2020 Dems Disappoint Pretty Much Everyone

By The Blaze. While pundits debate which candidate had a good showing and which had a bad showing at the first Democratic debates, Google analytics provided a technical measure that is a strong indicator of who won.

The official Google Trends social media account tweeted that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii had the greatest increase in searches on their online engine.

Ten of the Democrats that met the qualifications for the debate battled it out in the first of two debates in Miami, Florida.

The account posted a map of searches and indicated that although the Hawaiian congresswoman was the fourth most searched candidate ahead of the debate, but the top candidate searched during the debate.

The analysis indicated that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) had been the top candidate searched ahead of the debate. In second place was Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and in third place was Beto O’Rourke. (Read more from “Google Analytics Suggest a Surprising Winner of the First Democrat Debate” HERE)

Democrats Disappoint Hollywood During First Debate

By Breitbart. Hollywood was largely disappointed during the first Democratic presidential debate on Wednesday night, with reaction spanning from pillory to praise to panic.

“I already heard six candidates tonight that can see themselves out, permanently,” actress Amber Tamblyn fumed, sounding unenthused with over half of the Democratic candidates on the debate stage.

“Not a promising start,” said HBO late-night host Bill Maher, who pointed out how most of the candidates dodged the first question and failed to answer how they could justify pushing sweeping economic policy while a large majority of America (and 60 percent of Democrats) say they are doing well in President Trump’s economy.

Actor Don Cheadle seemed completely put off by the debate halfway through the first hour. “why don’t we just have running color commentary from the booth and a scoreboard and throw instant replay in there too to make it all complete …?” the Avengers: End game star suggested.

Dramatic Video Shows Rescue of Newborn Girl from Plastic Bag

A Georgia sheriff released dramatic body-cam video Tuesday showing the rescue of a newborn girl who was found alive inside a plastic bag in the woods. The little girl, nicknamed “Baby India,” was discovered on June 6 and has drawn national attention as officials are still attempting to locate her mother.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Baby India was found on 10 p.m. tied in plastic bag on the side of Davos Creek Road. She was located only after a family in a nearby home heard her crying in a heavily forested area in Forsyth Count.

A video taken by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office was made public on Wednesday showing her discovery. Officials are hoping it will generate tops in locating the girl’s parents or finding out why she was abandoned.

The video shows deputies tearing open the plastic bag containing the child as she cries. Then, they wrap her in a blanket to keep her warm. Hospital workers decided to call the girl Baby India, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. (Read more from “Dramatic Video Shows Rescue of Newborn Girl from Plastic Bag” HERE)

2020 Democrats Go All in on Amnesty for DACA Illegal Aliens

Democrat presidential primary candidates went all in on amnesty and American citizenship for millions of illegal aliens who are eligible and enrolled in former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

A number of Democrat presidential primary candidates said they would, in their first 100 days, grant amnesty to at least 3.5 million DACA-enrolled and eligible illegal aliens. Part of that amnesty, multiple Democrats said, would include allowing DACA illegal aliens to eventually obtain American citizenship.

“We would rewrite our immigration laws in our own image. Free DREAMers forever from any fear of deportation by making them U.S. citizens here in this country,” Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) said. . .

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) vowed that not only would he grant amnesty to DACA illegal aliens and the hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals in the U.S. on Temporary Protected Status (TPS), but he would end interior enforcement of immigration, allowing illegal aliens to remain and work freely once they cross into the country. . .

Any plan to give amnesty to DACA illegal aliens that does not also include provisions to halve legal immigration levels — the U.S. admits about 1.2 million legal immigrants a year at the expense of America’s working and middle class — would give amnestied illegal aliens the opportunity to bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the country. Rainbow Pride Flag Replaces POW/MIA Flag at Veterans Memorial Plaza — and Public Outcry Is Ignited

By The Blaze. Veteran John “Bill” Williams recalled to WRC-TV that he was in Vietnam just six days before two fellow service members were shot down, declared missing in action, “and they still haven’t found their bodies.”

Such losses are why the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza in Rockville, Maryland, means so much to Williams.

And it’s also why he was upset that the plaza’s POW/MIA flag was replaced with an LGBTQ rainbow flag for pride month, the station said. . .

It was the first time a rainbow pride flag flew at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, which is outside the Montgomery County executive office building, WRC said.

Montgomery County Council member Evan Glass, the council’s first LGBTQ member, helped celebrate the raising of the pride flag last week, the station added. (Read more from “Rainbow Pride Flag Replaces POW/Mia Flag at Veterans Memorial Plaza — and Public Outcry Is Ignited” HERE)

Pride Flag Replaces POW/Mia Flag at Montgomery County Executive Building

By NBC Washington. . .The POW/MIA flag was replaced by the LGBTQ pride flag for the month of June, pride month.

“I wasn’t happy about it at all because the park is supposed to be a veterans park,” Williams said. “People died. Now they took it down and put another flag up.”

“The flag post was only able to accommodate one flag, and when we learned of that, we are quickly, the county government, is quickly changing it,” Glass said. “So we’re adding more ringlets so that by tomorrow morning both flags will be raised.”

“If they want to put the other flag underneath, they could put it underneath, but the POW flag should be flying there,” Williams said.

The POW/MIA flag was put up again after the public outcry on Tuesday, and both flags are now back up, County Executive Mark Elrich said. (Read more from “Pride Flag Replaces POW/Mia Flag at Montgomery County Executive Building” HERE)

We Cannot Ignore the Horror of the Border Crisis, but We Shouldn’t Ignore Its Real Causes, Either

A picture of a drowned father and daughter at the southern border has brought a great deal of left-wing attention to the border crisis.

The tragic photo shows a migrant from El Salvador and his 2-year-old daughter washed up on the shore of the Rio Grande River after trying to cross the border into the United States.

A Vox writer called the image “the true face of the Trump administration’s approach to immigration, the physical embodiment of the nativism that animates it.”

“Trump is responsible for these deaths,” tweeted presidential candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke.

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., took the photo to the Senate floor and blamed President Trump for the pair’s deaths, calling his actions on the crisis a “whirlwind of incompetence leading to pictures like this.”

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, Vt., said that the image is “one painful example of so many that demonstrate the reckless disregard for basic humanity that have come from Trump’s policies.”

Sanders, of course, also called the border crisis “artificial” in January when calling for an end to the federal government partial shutdown over the border crisis.

In reality, since Schumer and Sanders’ January allegations, the administration has been dealing with month after month after month of record numbers of border apprehensions and changing demographics driven by a combination of what National Review editor Rich Lowry describes as “bizarre asylum rules” and inadequate security at the U.S.-Mexico border. These have left enforcement agencies grossly overburdened.

Meanwhile, it has been almost two months since the administration requested emergency border funding to address the ongoing crisis, and a supplemental measure addressing it only passed the House Tuesday evening (where funding bills have to begin, per the Constitution.) That spending package, however, contains no funding for additional border security measures.

It’s also important to keep in mind, congressional Republicans and the Trump administration started trying to address the asylum policies that created the current crisis over a year ago.

And, in case anyone forgot, this isn’t America’s first crisis of this nature. The journey north was still dangerous and the asylum incentives were similar five years ago, the swell of minors from Central America claiming refugee status as Unaccompanied Alien Children got so bad that then-President Barack Obama had to warn Central American parents to stop sending their kids here.

“Do not send your children to the borders,” Obama warned. “If they do make it, they’ll get sent back; more importantly, they might not make it.”

Look, it’s right to feel pangs of horror and sadness upon seeing a picture of a drowned father and daughter. It’s right to say it’s bad when kids don’t have soap and toothbrushes at detention facilities. These are objectively bad things, but we cannot pretend away the factors that actually created these conditions.

The humanitarian crisis at our southern border is indeed horrific. It was horrific before this picture was taken. It was horrific before the detention centers became as crowded as they currently are. That’s why it’s so important to fix this crisis the right way and prevent others of its kind from happening again.

You can’t fix a problem when you won’t admit what’s causing it, and as long as our current asylum and security problems persist, this crisis simply won’t go away. Military’s Mission Doesn’t Include Enforcement, so Smugglers Cross Rio Grande Right in Front of Them (VIDEO)

Does the United States military exist only to defend the borders of foreign countries in the Middle East or is it allowed to defend the borders of the U.S. against terrorist cartels, espionage, infiltrations, and smuggling?

It might sound like an uncanny question given that our military was likely created exclusively to defend our own borders, but, according to one Homeland Security official I spoke to, the White House is still convinced that our own military cannot be used for what one would think of as the quintessential purpose of its existence.

“Despite the fact that a more aggressive and armed military posture at the border is purely repelling incursions from the cartels and has nothing to do with Posse Comitatus limitations on enforcing interior domestic law, the administration lawyers refuse to view it that way,” said a DHS attorney who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

Indeed, despite the president’s promise to send “ARMED” soldiers to the border following the incident where two active duty soldiers were briefly disarmed and detained by Mexican military (or cartel operatives) on April 13, nothing has changed for the roughly 2,800 active duty personnel at the border.

“Active duty soldiers along the border currently operate CBP-provided Mobile Surveillance Camera (MSC) vehicles at known migrant crossings along the southwest border,” said NORTHCOM spokesman Capt. Jason Elmore in a statement to CR. “Active duty service members do not serve in a law enforcement capacity, they only alert Border Patrol personnel to any suspicious activity discovered while operating the mobile surveillance cameras.”

That is clearly the guidance the political leaders in Washington are issuing because they continue to treat cartel smuggling of dangerous criminal aliens and gangs – and even espionage and human intel gathering operations against our border – as a domestic law enforcement issue rather than a national defense issue.

Cartels invade while the military plays humanitarian role

One Border Patrol agent in the hard-hit Rio Grande Valley, who himself has an extensive military background, told CR that while his colleagues appreciate the Defense Department’s help, they really need the military to actually hold the line against the cartels. “We are outmanned, outgunned, and outmaneuvered, and the cartels have better technology than we do,” said the agent who spoke on condition of anonymity because he lacks an outlet to convey the perspective of line agents.

“The cartels are also much smarter than people give them credit for. They know that the military has been given orders only to alert Border Patrol of incursions rather than deterring and pushing them back across the river. As such, they will literally cross in rafts right in front of the military vehicles, often armed with weapons, knowing they won’t touch them and knowing that our agents are so tied down with their strategic weaponization of family units that it will take too long for us to arrive at the scene.”

Not only has the military not been unleashed to secure the perimeter of the river just like we would do for the security of other countries, they are often placed in danger themselves. In addition to the incident in Clint, Texas where two Mexicans snuck up on two active duty soldiers and jumped them, a Marine was attacked in El Centro California in May while sitting in one of these blacked out Mobile Surveillance Camera vehicles. The military has declined to comment any further on that incident since the initial media reports and have never issued an official statement.

The rest of the military’s mission appears to be humanitarian in nature, which unfortunately, plays into the hands of the cartels by more effectively completing their criminal conspiracy rather than deterring them. The NORTHCOM spokesman told CR that “the Joint Forces Land Component Command maintains a Crisis Response Force, consisting of military police, medical, aviation, and engineering support.” They also “provide high capacity transportation drivers to assist CBP with migrant transport to detention facilities and personnel to distribute meals to and conduct welfare checks on migrants in immigration detention facilities.”

Ironically, one could easily argue that having the military engage in migrant care is much more of a law enforcement and domestic policy function than the quintessential military function of defending the actual border line in the river by remaining “forward engaged against the armed smugglers and cartels,” according to my source in the Border Patrol who spent many years in the military on forward engaged missions overseas.

“It is shocking how when the Gulf Cartel and Cartel del Noreste engage in battle, the losing side always comes across the border to escape and our government doesn’t deploy any assets to stop them. Weapons and cartel commandos flow back and forth constantly, yet DHS and DOD refuse to view this as a gray zone conflict the way we would in the military in any other part of the world. Ironically, yet tragically, when cartel gun battles erupt is precisely the time when we need the military to be forward engaged to intercept the cross-border flow of fighters and weapons because we as line agents are ordered to get out of the way. Our border is left defenseless.”

The funny thing is that the lawyers in the executive branch believe the military can’t perform the Border Patrol’s job, yet Border Patrol doesn’t perform a hold the line strategy anyway because that is viewed as too dangerous for them!

So who is executing a military mission? Not Border Patrol and not the military

In another twist of irony, the only personnel who consistently have held the line when there was enough funding are the Texas Rangers. Jaeson Jones, former captain of the Texas Rangers’ Border Security Operations Center, is dumfounded that the federal government won’t patrol the international border the way his state troopers did beginning under Gov. Rick Perry.

“The military pilots need to get in their hours anyway,” Jones said. “They could kill two birds with one stone, by getting their training and hours on the border, while also being used as a fixed deterrent against the cartels. Before the wave of lawfare, our efforts at Texas DPS were very successful in deterring the incursions and the military has exponentially more resources than we had.”

Jones, who recently took a trip to the border, posted a series of videos on his Twitter account of smugglers successfully delivering their package and returning before Border Patrol could get them. According to Jones, some of these incursions were called in by the military, but because the military doesn’t deter and defend, the cartels slip in right in front of them.

Notice the smuggler is waving his load on. They will not operate if Border Patrol is in the river because they don’t want to get caught along with the illegal immigrant families. They don’t fear the military, but according to our source who is a line agent in the region, that would all change if the military were allowed to deter them.

“There’s nothing more effective than boats and helicopters. If the military would augment our resources in the river and the air, the cartels would be forced to shut down their operation and go back to just drug smuggling at ports of entry. But as it stands now, they know that the responding agents are far enough away to respond. There have been so many times recently when we can’t even respond when the Army calls out a group of runners. There are so few of us on the line that we have to prioritize which groups we pursue. Then there is the safety concern because we are dealing with cartels who are no less powerful and violent than ISIS.”

Sounds like a mission for the military, right?

Yet, NORTHCOM confirmed with me that they do not operate in the Rio Grande River. My source in Border Patrol noted that when Border Patrol is able to deploy their boats, they are very effective, but it’s not constant enough, and “due to poor scheduling of personnel shifts, there are often four consecutive days without boats in the water in our area of operation. A permanent military presence would be a game changer.”

If not for our own homeland defense, then for what?

This dynamic could not be further from the authentic application of the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act. The law was signed by President Grant to prohibit the military from being used to enforce domestic Reconstruction-era laws against American citizens in the southern states, absent direct authorization from Congress. To repel an invasion at our border — any invasion — is actually the quintessential use of our military that our Founders had in mind. Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution tasks the federal government with guaranteeing states’ protection against invasion, and we owe it to Arizona and Texas to secure their territory. The existence of Article IV, Section 4 itself should qualify as the exception to the prohibition of military enforcement expressed in Posse Comitatus — “except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution.

The president would go a long way in changing the outlook of the border from a domestic issue to a national defense issue if he were to designate the cartels as terrorists. Yet, multiple officials in the administration and in Congress have told me the State Department and most people in the White House are dead-set against it.

Next week, we will celebrate the 243rd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. One of the indictments against King George expressed in that document was how he “endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers” and refused to allow the Colonists to defend against the Indian incursions. Who would have thought that years later, the experiment in self-governance would result in our own refusal to do so without the absolute rule of a king? The Framers Never Intended for Impeachment to Be a Political Weapon, Former Federal Judge Says

On Sunday night’s episode of Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News, LevinTV host Mark Levin was joined by constitutional expert and former federal Judge Michael McConnell to discuss how the framers constitution really intended for impeachment to work.

During the discussion, McConnell — who is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and director of Stanford University’s constitutional law program — explained that impeachment is far more than just a political issue, or at least that’s what the framers intended for it to be.

“The phrase ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ was specifically chosen to be a very high bar” for impeachment, McConnell explained. “And the reason for that is that our framers wanted the president to be independent of Congress. One of the main functions of the president was to be a check, one of the checks and balances against Congress, which they thought — you know, perhaps inaccurately — was going to be by far the most powerful and most dangerous branch of government.”

“So they did not want Congress to be able to toss the president out on the basis of any low standard at all,” McConnell continued, so they deliberately chose the phrase ‘high crimes and misdemeanors,’ which had a history in the common law, because it referred to misdeeds of a public nature of a very serious sort amounting to abuse of power.”

Some proponents of impeaching President Trump have made the case that such proceedings are more about politics than they are about law, like a Vox op-ed from 2017 on the subject, which referred to previous presidential impeachments as “trivial acts of political vengeance.”

Earlier this year, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., publicly said that impeachment was a “political act” and rested upon the “will of the American people” while explaining the supposed justification for impeachment proceedings against the president.

In contrast to these ideas, Levin asked the constitutional scholar about how this view played out during the Constitutional convention, specifically bringing up a dispute between James Madison and George Mason over whether or not impeachment should happen over charges of “maladministration” — i.e., doing a bad job.

“George Mason proposed that the president be impeachable for ‘maladministration’ and Madison objected to that, saying that that would effectively make him serve at the pleasure of the Senate — meaning that they could get rid of him whenever they wanted to and that would destroy his independence,” McConnell explained. “It’s pretty clear that Madison, at least, believed that the president needed to be insulated from impeachment for anything that isn’t really truly a high crime or misdemeanor.”

The two also went on to discuss House Democrats’ recent efforts to impeach President Trump and subpoena his tax records and members of his administration. Mueller Agreeing to Rehash This Russia Collusion Myth Adds More to the Charge That It Was All a Hit Job

Yeah, maybe we shouldn’t be shocked about former Special Counsel Robert Mueller testifying again, but alas, here we are. From Mueller all but firing the ‘House Democrats impeach Trump’ flare at his closing presser in May to Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) being a total snot with Hope Hicks, even the most partisan Democrat would be hard pressed to defend this circus. It’s a witch-hunt. And Hicks’ appalling treatment by House Democrats all but proves that they’re out to get Trump. Again, we all knew this. We’ve known this for some time, but these trips down memory lane should only remind us to vote come November 2020. In July, this media myth is about to enter a new phase, as Mueller has agreed to testify before Congress over collusion delusion (via NYT):

Robert S. Mueller III, the former special counsel, has agreed to testify in public before Congress next month about his investigation into Russia’s election interference and possible obstruction of justice by President Trump, House Democrats announced on Tuesday night.

Coming nearly three months after the release of Mr. Mueller’s report, two back-to-back hearings on July 17 before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees promise to be among the most closely watched spectacles of Mr. Trump’s presidency. They have the power to potentially reshape the political landscape around his re-election campaign and a possible impeachment inquiry by the Democrat-controlled House.

The report has been dropped. It exonerates Trump on collusion and leaves it open for interpretation if he obstructed justice. The only evidence that says he did comes from the mouths of CNN’s commentator corps that’s insufferably liberal; most are former Obama officials and belief is not evidence. Sean Davis of The Federalist wrote two good posts that just fillets Mueller, the Obama DOJ, and this whole investigation, namely that the report shows that the special counsel and his army of Clinton-ite lawyers tried very hard to prove collusion, but couldn’t. The closing presser added more to the notion that this was a political hit job, and how this return to Congress is the cherry on top. So, how should the GOP fight back? Must-Watch Video of Media Claiming Border Security Is a ‘Manufactured Crisis’

. . .One could argue that while both sides now agree that there is a major issue, the left seems to think that the main problem is that the U.S. is not swinging the door wide open for all illegal aliens while conservatives argue that the problem is we do not have a wall to prevent illegal immigrants from coming into the country whatsoever. Regardless, the mainstream media’s coverage of the situation during President Donald J. Trump’s entire term in office has been absolutely dismal in terms of accuracy as to what was truly happening at the border. This video posted by Grabien’s Tom Elliot is proof that leftists in the media have gone from claiming that no problem exists at the border to saying that Trump is responsible for the crisis at the border that supposedly did not exist just five months ago.

Depending on how cynical you are, the video represents either the genuine stupidity or the malicious intent of the mainstream media. It also represents how dumb they think the American people actually are. For years, the mainstream media has said there is no immigration problem. They did this because they were either too dumb and too lazy to do their job or they purposefully hid the reality to paint the president as an idiot. By now admitting there is a crisis, in an insult to their viewers, they think their audience will continue to find what they say as credible. They do this despite the fact their record shows they cannot report on perhaps the number one issue facing America — illegal immigration.
