Liberal Media Tries to Show Public Support for Gun Control — and Fails Spectacularly at It

Progressive cable news channel MSNBC posted an online poll to try to measure support for gun control, but they were likely disappointed with the overwhelming result.

The poll showed that 93 percent of respondents supported the right of citizens to carry guns in public.

Only 4 percent who responded to the decidedly unscientific poll said they were opposed to people carrying guns in public.

Another 2 percent responded that people should be allowed to carry guns in public, but only for self defense.

The poll on the MSNBC website garnered more than 633k votes, the vast majority of which were in support of gun rights. (Read more from “Liberal Media Tries to Show Public Support for Gun Control — and Fails Spectacularly at It” HERE)

Johns Hopkins Professor Issues Dire Warning on Child Transgender Trend

A psychiatrist from Johns Hopkins University has slammed the medical and psychiatric industries for what he says is reckless and irresponsible treatment of patients who claim to be transgender.

Paul McHugh, a renowned psychiatrist from Johns Hopkins University, told The College Fix he believes transgender people are being experimented on because the doctors treating transgender patients with hormones “don’t have evidence that (the treatment) will be the right one.” He also criticized the manner of treatment given to many children who claim to be transgender.

“Many people are doing what amounts to an experiment on these young people without telling them it’s an experiment,” he told The Fix via phone.

“You need evidence for that and this is a very serious treatment. It is comparable to doing frontal lobotomies.” . . .

A recent study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that 80 percent of gender minority students report having mental health problems, nearly double the rate of “cisgender” students. McHugh believes that in many cases the patient’s gender dysphoria is precipitated by mental illness. (Read more from “Johns Hopkins Professor Issues Dire Warning on Child Transgender Trend” HERE)

Previously Deported MS-13 Member Arrested in Alleged Kidnapping; Progressives Attack ‘Remain in Mexico’ Program

By Breitbart. A previously deported MS-13 gang member in the U.S. illegally was arrested and charged with allegedly kidnapping a Tennessee high school student and beating him because he refused to join the gang.

A student at Glencliff High School told officers that suspected MS-13 gang member Franklin Jefferson Pineda-Caceres, 18, showed up at his high school with two other men before they forced him into a vehicle, according to a report from WKRN. . .

Officials then charged Pineda-Caceres on Monday with one count of aggravated kidnapping, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle), four counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of violating immigration law, according to Fox 17 Nashville.

Tennessee federal prosecutors also charged Pineda-Caceres on Tuesday with illegal re-entry. He first crossed the border into the U.S. illegally in 2014 and was deported in May 2018 after committing several drug-related crimes in 2017. Progressives Attack ‘Remain in Mexico’ Program for Migrants

By Breitbart. Top leaders from the Department of Homeland Security are showcasing the new border courtrooms created to handle asylum claims by more than 40,000 migrants who were sent back to Mexico, as pro-migration groups step up their campaign to block the successful program.

The progressives are showcasing critical media claims about migrants who say they are suffering in Mexican towns while waiting for their asylum hearings in U.S. courtrooms. The media campaign is intended to persuade federal judges in California to shut the MPP program down and so reopen the border to a massive infusion of poor migrants into the jobs, housing, and schools needed by blue-collar Americans and their children.

The MPP program has sent more than 40,000 migrants back into Mexico until U.S. officials are ready to hear their legal claims for asylum. The returns mean that migrants cannot get released into the United States to get jobs while they wait two or more years for a courtroom hearing in the United States.

The program is having a big impact on the economic incentive for migration. The migrants need U.S. jobs to pay their smuggling bills to the cartel-affiliated coyotes. But the MPP program means they cannot get U.S. jobs while waiting in Mexico. That economic loss effectively removes the incentive for them to migrate, and it also damages the economic engine of the cartels’ labor trafficking business. Kavanaugh’s ‘Mystery’ Accuser Is Former Clinton Lawyer, Obama Donor

Max Stier, the man behind a new sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, was not only a former classmate of Kavanaugh’s at Yale but also a foe during the Bill Clinton impeachment trial.

Stier, 53, served on the team defending Clinton, while Kavanaugh served on Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr’s team that was investigating Clinton. . .

The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway noted in a piece that during those proceedings Stier had “worked closely with David Kendall,” who would later defend Hillary Clinton against allegations of illegally handling classified information.

Stier once worked for a Republican congressman decades ago — Rep. Jim Leach (R-IA) in 1982, but he would later donate to Democrats. He donated $250 to the Democratic National Committee in 2000 while he worked at Housing and Urban Development, and then donated about $1,000 to former President Barack Obama in 2007 and 2008, according to the Federal Election Commission website. . .

Since President Trump’s tenure, Stier has been careful not to criticize Trump, although he has in several interviews disparaged the notion of the “Deep State” and defended federal employees as hardworking public servants. WATCH: Former Trump Campaign Manager Slams Dems Over Impeachment Attempts

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski took the Democrats to school today. Trump impeachment theater is now a full production. Okay—ever since the Democrat retook the House, impeachment theater has been in production, but now it’s official. Lewandowski was yanked before the House Judiciary Committee via subpoena and gave the Left a run for its money. He slapped down the nonsense hurled at him regarding the Trump-Russia myth. He wasn’t going to play by their rules because he doesn’t need to accept those parameters. This is a witch hunt. It’s political theater. So, have fun—and he did (via Fox News):

Lewandowski visibly frustrated committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., during the Democrat’s first question – when the witness, in an apparent effort to stall for time, repeatedly asked Nadler to point to the specific section in the Robert Mueller report related to his question. Lewandowski was following White House orders not to discuss confidential conversations with the president beyond what was already public in the former special counsel’s report.

[…]

“He’s filibustering,” a frustrated Nadler said. . .

Lewandowski appeared to mock California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell’s unsuccessful bid for the White House earlier this year, calling him “President Swalwell” at one point during questioning.

New Report: Economic Growth Continues Under Trump

The Left wants an economic recession. They know it will increase their odds of beating Donald Trump in 2020, despite sending millions of American families into financial distress. For the elite and the Hollywood Left, they’re going to be fine. For everyone else, screw ‘em. HBO’s Bill Maher says he wants an economic collapse in the hopes of beating the president. With the Trump White House playing hardball with China, there were some ripple effects, but is there a recession on the horizon. Not really, despite the media trying to overload the news cycle in the hopes of driving down the numbers on Wall Street. They have been able to tank the markets. Brian Ross, formerly of ABC News, took to air with a shoddy story about Trump and Michael Flynn, where he said that Flynn was ordered by candidate Trump to make contact with the Russians during the 2016 election. This was done after Trump had won, which is typical for any incoming administration. Ross was suspended and eventually parted ways with ABC News, but not before the fake news story tanked the market.

The good news is that right now, despite the media lusting for our economic ruin, the economy is still going strong (via CNBC):

The labor market and the broader economy are both better than they look on the surface, and in fact have been mostly defying the continual patter of recession expectations.

By multiple measures, the U.S. is staying ahead of the global slowdown, the trade war with China and the bond market’s implication that the decadelong recovery after the financial crisis is coming to a close. Though the major Wall Street averages wobbled around breakeven … stocks are back near record highs as investors shrug off the wave of fear.

One gauge in particular shows how much the economy has defied downbeat forecasts.

High School Cheerleaders Put on Probation for Posing With Trump Banner

On Monday, cheerleaders from a North Carolina high school were put on probation for the remainder of the football season for posing with a Trump 2020 banner before a football game on August 30.

The photo was posted on Facebook, prompting some commenters to take issue; one wrote, “Why in the world would the school board allow this to happen. I am sad and very disappointed with NS. This is a High School football game, not a political rally. Shame on them,” as The Daily Mail noted.

NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker told McClatchy news group that probation is not punishment, but rather, “It serves as a notice of behavior or action that is against NCHSAA Handbook Policy or contrary to expectations of sportsmanship and proper behavior,” according to the Charlotte Observer. She also said, “One of the rules we have is that every contest should be conducted in a wholesome, athletic environment. We take that to mean that it’s in an environment where good sportsmanship is shown, where people feel safe…that respect for all people participating is being shown,” according to thesnaponline.

The Stanly County School District issued a statement saying:

We are currently investigating this matter but as of this morning we have determined this was not an act planned or endorsed by the school or its staff. A student attending the event brought the flag into the game, which was not present when entering the gate … Stanly County Schools respects the rights of its students, staff, and visitors to express their opinions in a respectful manner on their own time, however, Stanly County Board of Education policy prohibits the display or distribution of political advertisements on campus or at school events. Further, Stanly County Schools never makes political campaign endorsements. These policies ensure that all students, staff and visitors are able to attend school events in an environment that promotes students and not a particular political viewpoint.

Memory Loss? Joe Biden Doesn’t Know U.S. Population, Can’t Remember Who He Rallied With This Year

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden appeared to have no clue as to what the U.S. population was during a talk on Tuesday and later forgot who he rallied with earlier this year.

Biden, while speaking at the Workers’ Presidential Summit in Philadelphia, said that his proposed $8,000 child tax credit would “put 720 million women back in the workforce.”

“You get a tax break for a race horse. Why in God’s name couldn’t we provide an $8,000 tax credit for everybody who has childcare costs?” Biden said. “It would put 720 million women back in the workforce. It would increase the GDP—to sound like a wonk here—by about eight-tenths of one percent. It would grow the economy.”

The current U.S. population is approximately 330 million people so it’s unclear where Biden got the notion that there are hundreds of millions more people living in the United States. . .

Biden has drifted further and further to the far-left during the Democratic primary race, criticizing Republicans’ desire to allow churchgoers to arm themselves so they are not the victims of mass shootings to supporting socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) $93 trillion “Green New Deal.” (Read more from “Memory Loss? Joe Biden Doesn’t Know U.S. Population, Can’t Remember Who He Rallied With This Year” HERE)

Trump: U.S. ‘Locked and Loaded’ After ‘Iranian’ Attack on Saudi Oil Sites

By Daily Wire. President Donald Trump suggested on Sunday that the U.S. military could be used to respond to the terrorist attacks on oil sites in Saudi Arabia, for which U.S. officials say Iran was responsible.

“Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked,” Trump tweeted. “There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!” . . .

The Saturday attacks knocked out over 5% of global oil supply and it could take Saudi Arabia months to recover from the attack, which a senior U.S. official told Reuters potentially involved cruise missiles.

“The U.S. official, who asked not to be named, said there were 19 points of impact in the attack on Saudi facilities and that evidence showed the launch area was west-northwest of the targets — the direction of Iran — not south from Yemen,” Reuters added. “The official added that Saudi officials had indicated they had seen signs that cruise missiles were used in the attack, which is inconsistent with the Iran-aligned Houthi group’s claim that it conducted the attack with 10 drones.”

Trump Approves Use of Emergency Oil Reserves and Says U.S. Is ‘Locked and Loaded’ After Attack on Saudi Facilities

By Washington Examiner. President Trump authorized the use of emergency oil reserves after a series of drone attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities disrupted the country’s crude oil output and indicated that the U.S. is “locked and loaded depending on verification” of the “culprit.”

“Based on the attack on Saudi Arabia, which may have an impact on oil prices, I have authorized the release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, if needed, in a to-be-determined amount sufficient to keep the markets well-supplied,” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

“I have also informed all appropriate agencies to expedite approvals of the oil pipelines currently in the permitting process in Texas and various other States,” he continued. Federal Judge: All Pedophile Co-Conspirators Remain Protected by Epstein’s Corrupt Deal; Victims Denied Cash Damages

By Business Insider. A federal judge dealt Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers a massive disappointment in a new court ruling that shut down more than 10 years of legal battles over investigations into the late financier’s potential co-conspirators.

Judge Kenneth A. Marra wrote in a decision, filed Monday, that he was denying the request of two of Epstein’s alleged victims to rescind a non-prosecution agreement that shortened Epstein’s 2007 jail sentence and promised immunity for “any potential co-conspirators.”

In August, lawyers representing some of Epstein’s victims filed a brief arguing that a clause in a non-prosecution agreement struck between the US attorney’s office, Epstein, and his co-conspirators in 2007 should be rescinded.

The deal was previously detailed in a November 2018 Miami Herald report that said local and federal investigators looking into Epstein’s suspected trafficking of minor girls had enough evidence to put him away for life in 2007.

However, after then-US Attorney of the Southern District of Florida, Alexander Acosta, met with one of Epstein’s lawyers, Jay Lefkowitz, the two former colleagues reportedly agreed on a deal that stipulated Epstein serve just 13 months from a private cell block at a county jail, instead of federal prison. The financier also pleaded guilty to just two prostitution charges. (Read more from “Federal Judge: All Pedophile Co-Conspirators Remain Protected by Epstein’s Corrupt Deal” HERE)

Judge Refuses to Scrap Plea Deal That Protected Jeffrey Epstein’s Co-Conspirators

By The Daily Beast. . .On Monday, Marra denied Jane Does’ request to rescind the plea deal’s immunity provisions from Epstein’s alleged accomplices. He stated that the co-conspirators were not involved in active litigation and were non-parties to the case against the government. “The question of the validity of the non-prosecution provisions of the NPA as they relate to the alleged co-conspirators will have to be litigated with their participation if any prosecution against them is ever brought,” he wrote. “Any decision by this Court on that question is meaningless without their participation in this proceeding.”

The judge also denied the victims’ request for FBI files related to the 2008 investigation into Epstein and his alleged co-conspirators, stating that, “it is also a matter of public knowledge that there is an ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice relative those individuals. The FBI’s documents, to the extent they were not otherwise protected by attorney/client or work product privileges, in all likelihood, are relevant to that ongoing investigation.”

Additionally, Marra denied the request for a hearing for the victims with Acosta present, stating the former U.S. Attorney is now a “private citizen.” He also rejected awarding attorneys’ fees to the victims or forcing the government to pay for damages associated with their decade-long fight. Despite the mounting legal bill, Marra said that Florida prosecutors did not act in bad faith during the deal and therefore should not have to monetarily compensate Jane Does 1 and 2.

Marra concluded his opinion Monday by hoping the women “may take solace, however, in the fact that this litigation has brought national attention to the Crime Victims’ Rights Act and the importance of victims in the criminal justice system.” (Read more from “Judge Refuses to Scrap Plea Deal That Protected Jeffrey Epstein’s Co-Conspirators” HERE)

Jeffrey Epstein’s Victims Will Not Get Cash Damages From Federal Government Over Controversial Non-Prosecution Deal, Judge Says

By CNBC. A federal judge in Florida ruled Monday that victims of late accused child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein will not get monetary damages from the U.S. government, despite a failure by federal prosecutors to inform them years ago about a controversial non-prosecution deal with the wealthy financier.

Judge Kenneth Marra also ruled against the victims’ request that their lawyer fees be paid for by the government. . .

Marra had ruled last February that federal prosecutors in Florida had violated the Crime Victims’ Rights Act by not telling them they were agreeing in 2007 not to bring serious sex crime charges against Epstein, in exchange for his guilty plea to relatively minor state charges the following year.
