By USA Today. Bernie Sanders slammed Michael Bloomberg’s wealth in an extended debate over taxes and what he described as the “grotesque level of income and wealth inequality” in the United States.

“That’s wrong, that’s immoral,” Sanders said, noting that Bloomberg’s wealth vastly overshadows the earnings of virtually all Americans.

The back-and-forth was ostensibly over the nation’s tax code, and a desire from Sanders and Elizabeth Warren to raise taxes on the wealthy. Bloomberg said he was proud of the money he has earned – “I work very hard for it,” he said – and added that he strongly opposed the tax proposals supported by the liberal wing of the party. . .

In a question about how his policies would affect small, minority-owned businesses, Biden brought up the discriminatory housing practice known as “redlining.”

It wasn’t redlining, but the greed of Wall Street, that caused the 2008 financial crisis, Biden said. That was an allusion to comments Bloomberg made in 2008 in which he said the crisis was started because banks were pressured to end redlining. The Democrats’ showdown Wednesday night in Las Vegas repeatedly put Bloomberg in his primary rivals’ crosshairs as the surging billionaire made his debate-stage debut. But the conflagration quickly expanded into an all-out melee and easily the most aggressive debate of the nomination season to date, as each of the candidates took sharp and often personal shots at one another.

Trump ‘Offered Pardon’ to Assange If He Denied Russia Leak, Court Hears

By Breitbart. US President Donald Trump promised to pardon WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange if he denied Russia leaked emails of his 2016 election rival’s campaign, a London court was told on Wednesday.

Assange’s lawyer Jennifer Robinson said in a document Trump relayed the offer through former US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, the UK’s domestic Press Association news agency reported.

The revelation came at a case management hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court before Monday’s formal start of Washington’s extradition request for him to face espionage charges.

If found guilty in the United States, he could be jailed for 175 years.

Assange’s defence cited a statement from Robinson in which she said that Rohrabacher had been to see Assange and said “on instructions from the president, he was offering a pardon or some other way out, if Mr Assange… said Russia had nothing to do with the DNC leaks”. White House: Press Reports that Trump Offered Pardon to Assange, “Total Lie”

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham dismissed Fitzgerald’s claim as “a total lie.” “The President barely knows Dana Rohrabacher other than he’s an ex-congressman. He’s never spoken to him on this subject or almost any subject. It is a complete fabrication and a total lie. This is probably another never ending hoax and total lie from the DNC,” Grisham said in a statement to CNN on Wednesday. . .

[Rohrabacher, a] former aide to Ronald Reagan, who served in the House for nearly three decades, said he tried to take Assange’s message directly to Trump but was denied a meeting by White House chief of staff John Kelly. 36-Year-Old Woman Calls 911 Over Parents Cancelling Phone Plan

Police arrested a 36-year-old Ohio woman last week after she would not stop calling 911 to tell police that her parents had canceled her cellphone plan, WEWS-TV reported.

On Feb. 13, Seloni Khetarpal of Canton, Ohio, “repeatedly” called police demanding that officers respond to the situation by coming to her home, court documents say.

During the first call, police reportedly warned her that the regional emergency dispatch should be dialed only in the case of an actual emergency requiring police assistance — but she didn’t listen. Hours later, Khetarpal called again insisting that the police do something.

According to court documents, she was “belligerent” and insisted that her parents canceling her phone plan was a legitimate issue.

George Zimmerman Sues Warren and Buttigieg Over Their Tweets

George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, is suing two Democratic presidential candidates over their incendiary tweets about the movement that grew out of his case.

The infamous Florida man was charged with murder after he engaged in an altercation with the seventeen-year-old Martin, and ended up shooting him and killing him in 2012.

Zimmerman was acquitted for the murder of Martin in 2013, but activists have hounded him and made the case into a social justice cause. . .

“We need to end gun violence and racism,” she added. “And we need to build a world where all of our children—especially young Black boys—can grow up safe and free.”

The lawsuit accused the politicians of tweeting simply “for political gain in misguided and malicious attempts to bolster their standings amongst African-American voters, all at Zimmerman’s expense.”

Hospitals to Deny Care to ‘Racist’ or ‘Homophobic’ Patients

Patients deemed to be “racist” or “homophobic” will be denied care in NHS Trust hospitals under new rules set to take effect in April.

“Currently, staff can refuse to treat non-critical patients who are verbally aggressive or physically violent towards them,” reports Sky News. “But these protections will extend to any harassment, bullying or discrimination, including homophobic, sexist or racist remarks.” . . .

What is determined to be “racist” or “homophobic” is anyone’s guess, since many elderly patients will be totally unfamiliar with modern politically correct speech codes and could be deemed to have behaved in a racist or homophobic way even if they didn’t maliciously intend to.

As Jack Montgomery highlights, “In late 2017 an NHS patient who requested a female nurse to carry out a cervical smear complained when the hospital sent a person with “an obviously male appearance… close-cropped hair, a male facial appearance and voice, large number of tattoos and facial stubble” who insisted “My gender is not male. I’m a transsexual.”

Report: FBI Handed Over Classified Information to Spy Christopher Steele

Inspector General Michael Horowitz discovered that FBI agents shared extensive classified materials with former British spy Christopher Steele, despite knowing the Democratic National Committee was paying Steele and that Hillary Clinton herself was aware of Steele’s research, according to a new report by Eric Felten at RealClearInvestigations.

FBI agents met with Steele in Rome just a month before the 2016 election, where they gave him a “general overview” of Crossfire Hurricane as well as details of the cases against Trump campaign staffers Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort, and Michael Flynn. In addition to the intel, Steele was compensated $15,000 by the FBI for attending the three-hour meeting.

According to Felten, the FBI agent referred to as “Handling Agent 1″ in the Horowitz report is FBI agent Michael Gaeta, who worked on cases fighting organized crime in Russia. Gaeta and Steele met working on the investigation of corruption at international soccer organization FIFA. “Between 2014 and 2016, Steele collected $95,000 from the bureau for his work on the FIFA case and reports on corruption in Russia and Ukraine,” Felten reports. Gaeta became Steele’s go-to for work and began feeding Gaeta information on Trump and Russia connections that would eventually form the “dossier.” . . .

Horowitz’s IG report implies that permission was given to share classified information simply by the presence of the “section chief” at the meeting with Steele. “FBI Security staff told us [the IG’s office] that the Assistant Director for CD [Counterintelligence Division] can authorize the disclosure of classified information,” reads a footnote in the report. Coronavirus Is Much Deadlier Than the Common Flu Despite Comparisons

By The Blaze. The coronavirus that is infecting thousands of people per day in China is much deadlier than the common flu, according to a new analysis by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China.

Some, in downplaying the severity of the coronavirus outbreak, have pointed out how many people die from the common flu every year. During the 2017-18 flu season, about 61,000 people died.

Although the coronavirus has not yet registered such a high number of fatalities, early analysis indicates that there is reason to be more concerned about coronavirus than about the flu. From the New York Times:

An analysis of 44,672 coronavirus patients in China whose diagnoses were confirmed by laboratory testing has found that 1,023 had died by Feb. 11. That’s a fatality rate of 2.3 percent. Figures released on a daily basis suggest the rate has further increased in recent days.

That is far higher than the mortality rate of the seasonal flu, with which the new coronavirus has sometimes been compared. In the United States, flu fatality rates hover around 0.1 percent.

Americans on Coronavirus Cruise Ship Barred From U.S. After Failed Quarantine

By Ars Technica. On Wednesday, the initial 14-day quarantine aboard a coronavirus-stricken cruise ship docked in Yokohama, Japan, officially ended. But the grueling saga seems far from for over for the ship’s 3,711 passengers and crew.

As the quarantine time ran out, Japanese officials were still reporting dozens of new cases of COVID-19 aboard. As of Wednesday, the number of coronavirus infections linked to the ship total 621—by far the largest cluster of COVID-19 infections anywhere outside of China. The next-largest cluster outside of China is in Singapore, which has 84 confirmed cases.

Japanese health officials are facing international criticism for their handling of the quarantine on the ship, the Diamond Princess. The quarantine was intended to curb the spread of disease by keeping people aboard, isolated from each other and from the public on land. But as cases mounted over the two weeks, it became clear that the control efforts only enabled the new coronavirus to spread. In fact, the 621 cases include at least three Japanese health officials, who were there to support the quarantine efforts but ended up becoming infected themselves.

“The quarantine process failed,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, said Monday. “I’d like to sugarcoat it and try to be diplomatic about it, but it failed. People were getting infected on that ship. Something went awry in the process of the quarantining on that ship. Virginia Governor to Sign Bill Releasing Hundreds of Juvenile Murder Convicts

Virginians might have dodged the bullet of a mass gun control bill, but lest some think sanity has been restored to the Virginia legislature, the same Democrat politicians relentlessly promoting restrictions on self-defense for law-abiding citizens are pushing for release of violent criminals. One major bill is now headed to Governor Ralph Northam’s desk.

On Monday, Virginia’s Senate passed HB35, which offers early release to juveniles serving a life sentence without parole once they have already served 20 years. This is a growing trend in a lot of liberal states, but a number of Republicans have bought into this radical idea of retroactively abolishing life without parole for juvenile murderers. This bill will potentially offer release for over 700 people sentenced to life as juveniles, according to liberal activists supporting the bill.

Shockingly, seven of the 11 Republican senators joined every Democrat in supporting this bill. The bill passed the state House 56-44 last month, with support of just one Republican, and now heads to Governor Northam’s desk.

So much for the promise of jailbreak only targeting low-level offenders. Proponents of these bills try to elicit sympathy for juveniles, as if we should treat them more leniently than adults, but murder is not a juvenile crime. It’s one thing to say we will treat juveniles more leniently for petty theft, drugs, or even armed robbery. But in order to get a sentence of life in prison without parole, one has to be a first-degree murderer, and even many of them escape this sentence. Thus, this leniency, by definition, is targeting the worst of the worst.

The infamous D.C. sniper, Lee Boyd Malvo, who, along with his older partner, killed 17 and injured 10 in 2002 in the D.C. area, is an example of who is serving life without parole in Virginia as a juvenile convict.

Increasingly, more violent crime in this country is being committed by juveniles. Roughly 8 percent of homicide suspects and 16 percent of rape suspects in 2018, according to the FBI, were juvenile offenders. This is not something that can be ignored. The suspects charged in the horrific murder of New York college student Tessa Majors are 13- and 14-year-olds. Does their tender age make the pain of her murder less? Does it entitle her family to a lesser degree of justice? Does it make these offenders, if convicted, less a threat to public safety?

What liberals in both parties refuse to recognize is that the murder or rape victims of juvenile offenders are no less victimized and no less deserving of justice than those victims of offenders a few years older. A life is a life. This is not a low-level crime where age should factor in. This bill makes no exceptions for MS-13 murderers or anyone with multiple murders. It truly rewards the worst offenders imaginable.

Moreover, this is not just about juvenile murderers. The bipartisan Left in this country doesn’t believe in the concept of incarceration, and leftists are now seeking to dismantle life sentencing for adult murderers as well. As I reported in January, the Virginia Senate passed the Orwellian-named “Geriatric prisoners; conditional release” bill, which would release, in most cases, anyone who is 55 years of age or older and has served at least 15 years or anyone who is 50 years of age or older and has served at least 20 years of the sentence imposed. Most murderers and rapists would be eligible. The bill passed the Senate along party lines, making it all but certain to pass the House, where Democrats enjoy a larger majority.

What’s worse, these very same Democrats pushing gun control on law-abiding citizens introduced a bill in the House last month restoring gun rights for those convicted of murder and other serious offenses as juveniles 16 or younger!

Meanwhile, although the massive gun ban on commonly owned guns, rifles, and magazines failed to pass a Senate committee, other gun control bills are slated to become law. The so-called “red flag” law already passed the Senate and is expected to sail through the House. It would require law enforcement to confiscate guns, circumventing the normal judicial due process required to limit constitutionally protected rights, upon belief that an individual is a danger to himself or others.

Bombshell Chinese Study Fuels Conspiracy of Coronavirus Being a Bioweapon; Coronavirus CAN Reinfect People, and the Second Infection Can Lead to Heart Failure

By CCN. Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc on the Chinese mainland. As more information leaks out, people are growing concerned that coronavirus is a human-made bioweapon.

During an interview earlier this month, a CBS anchor addressed the concern head-on with Chinese Ambassador Ciu Tiankai. His response was far from a denial. . .

Initially, rumors suggested that the patient zero had contracted the virus at the Wuhan seafood market. Just a few yards away from the seafood market lies the Wuhan Virology Institute. According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the institute is China’s first Biosafety Level 4 Lab that researches “the most dangerous pathogens.”

A recent study done by the Beijing-sponsored South China University of Technology concluded that coronavirus “probably” originated from that lab.

Scholars Botao Xiao and Lei Xiao claim the WHCDC kept disease-ridden animals in labs. Chinese Doctors: Coronavirus Can Reinfect People, and the Second Infection Can Lead to Heart Failure

By The Blaze. Doctors in China say patients who recover from coronavirus can be reinfected — and if that happens, they become significantly more likely to suffer fatal heart attacks due to the nature of the virus and the effect of the medicine used to treat it, according to the Taiwan News.

The information comes from doctors working in the Hubei province of China, where the virus originated, who spoke under the condition of anonymity out of fear of retribution from the Chinese government, which has attempted to suppress information about the virus outbreak and punish those who leak info.

“It’s highly possible to get infected a second time,” a doctor told the Taiwan News. “A few people recovered from the first time by their own immune system, but the meds they use are damaging their heart tissue, and when they get it the second time, the antibody doesn’t help but makes it worse, and they die a sudden death from heart failure.”

Additionally, the true scope of the infections still may not be known, due to some complicating variables. Chinese doctors have had issues with false negatives from the coronavirus tests, with cases in which X-rays reveal significant lung infections for people who tested negative for coronavirus multiple times.
