Confirmed: Second Stimulus Check Proposal of $1,200

The subject of a second stimulus check has been on the minds of many Americans for months. Until today, we only had half of the puzzle.

In May, the House of Representatives passed the Heroes Act. It created a second stimulus check of $1,200 for Americans earning less than $75,000 a year plus an additional $1,200 per dependent up to three. In many ways, it was very similar to the Cares Act but it has to yet to move within the Senate due to its high cost. . .

After some negotiation this week with the White House and discussions with some House and Senate Democrats, The Hill reported that Treasury Secretary Mnuchin confirmed that the proposed second stimulus check will be the same as the first: “We’re talking about the same provision as last time, so our proposal is the exact same proposal as last time.” . . .

It would give an advance on a refundable tax credit of $1,200 to qualifying Americans plus an additional $500 for dependent children under 17 years old. (Read more from “Confirmed: Second Stimulus Check Proposal of $1,200” HERE)

CNN Lies About Hydroxychloroquine Once Again

During a heated exchange with Trump Campaign Communications Director Tim Murtaugh this week, CNN Anchor Brianna Keiler claimed hydroxychloroquine, a decades old malaria drug, “kills people.” The comments were cut off in the online version of the interview, but aired live.

Her claim comes after an important study, which CNN reported on, from the Henry Ford Health System. It shows hydroxychloroquine is an effective drug against Wuhan coronavirus — especially if administered to patients early.

“A surprising new study found the controversial antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine helped patients better survive in the hospital,” CNN reports. “A team at Henry Ford Health System in southeast Michigan said Thursday their study of 2,541 hospitalized patients found that those given hydroxychloroquine were much less likely to die. Dr. Marcus Zervos, division head of infectious disease for Henry Ford Health System, said 26% of those not given hydroxychloroquine died, compared to 13% of those who got the drug.” The team reviewed everyone treated in the hospital system since March.” (Read more from “CNN Lies About Hydroxychloroquine Once Again” HERE)

Trump to Send More Federal Agents Into Violent Cities; Chicago Mayor Agrees to Accept Help

Trump, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Agree to Deployment of Federal Agents

By New York Post. President Trump called Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Wednesday evening to confirm his plans to send 200 federal agents to the city to combat “a rampage of violence.”

In a statement obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, the mayor’s office said Trump “reached out to Mayor Lightfoot this evening to confirm that he plans to send federal resources to Chicago to supplement ongoing federal investigations pertaining to violent crime.” . . .

Lightfoot, who previously vowed to turn away the feds, and Trump — who blasted “extreme politicians” whom he accused of joining an “anti-police crusade” — are in agreement over the strategy of sending in agents to plug into existing operations, the paper reported.

“Mayor Lightfoot maintains that all resources will be investigatory in nature and be coordinated through the U.S. Attorney’s office,” the statement said. “The Mayor has made clear that if there is any deviation from what has been announced, we will pursue all available legal options to protect Chicagoans.” (Read more from “Trump, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Agree to Deployment of Federal Agents” HERE)

Trump to Send More Federal Agents Into Violent Cities

By Washington Examiner. President Trump announced plans to send more federal agents into cities around the country to help corral the violence that has occurred in recent weeks.

The president’s “Operation Legend” program, unveiled on Wednesday, will assist local law enforcement in cities such as Chicago and Kansas City to tackle violence and civil unrest. . .

The program will involve federal agents from the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and other agencies to partner with local agencies. It is named for LeGend Taliferro, a 4-year-old boy who was shot and killed while asleep last month in Kansas City, Missouri. Recent Survey: The Majority of Americans Are Afraid of Expressing Political Beliefs

A majority of Americans say they are worried about facing social or professional consequences for their political views, a new survey from the Cato Institute found.

The survey, conducted by Cato in collaboration with YouGov, found 62 percent of Americans self-censor their political expression out of fear of offending others. Majorities across the political spectrum said they are worried about sharing their political opinions, including 52 percent of Democrats, 59 percent of independents, and 77 percent of Republicans.

Thirty-one percent of liberals, 30 percent of moderates, and 34 percent of conservatives said they are specifically worried about professional retribution for political speech. The only respondent group with a majority confident in sharing political opinions was the “strong liberal” group, 58 percent of whom said they were confident. Fifty-two percent of respondents who identified as “liberal” said the political climate prevents them from sharing some of their beliefs, while 64 percent of “moderate” respondents and 77 percent of “conservative” and “strongly conservative” respondents said the same.

Respondents with stronger ideological leanings expressed support for punishing business executives who engage in political speech, although the sentiment was higher for strong liberals than strong conservatives. Half of “strong liberals” and 36 percent of “strong conservatives” said they support punishing business executives who donate to the opposing party’s presidential candidate. Supreme Court Transgender Decision Leads to Religious Liberty Legal Battle

A transgender man last week filed a lawsuit against a Catholic-run hospital in Maryland, citing in his complaint June’s landmark Supreme Court decision on transgender rights, fulfilling conservative fears that the ruling would usher in a legal war.

The suit, filed on behalf of Jesse Hammons by the American Civil Liberties Union, alleges that St. Joseph Medical Center, a Catholic-run hospital within the University of Maryland Medical System, violated the First and Fourteenth Amendments by refusing to perform a surgery necessary to Hammons’s transition from woman to man. The suit uses Justice Neil Gorsuch’s majority opinion in Bostock v. Clayton County to buttress its argument, namely, that refusing services to transgender people is a form of discrimination on the basis of sex.

When Bostock was decided in June, many social conservatives predicted that it would have dire implications for women’s sports leagues, single-sex dorms on college campuses, and general religious liberty exceptions to nondiscrimination laws granted to faith-based institutions. . .

Anderson pointed to his own work on transgender activists’ clashes with religious institutions and said that the ACLU’s argument holds no water, since “good hospitals remove diseased organs, not healthy ones. Regardless of ‘identity.’”

The ACLU’s argument rests on two points. The first is that St. Joseph’s, which, until UMMS acquired it in 2012, was owned by the Catholic Church, violates the First Amendment’s establishment clause by operating according to Catholic teaching. The second is that the hospital violated the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment because it would have performed the procedure, a hysterectomy, if Hammons, a biological woman, needed it for reasons other than gender dysphoria. Black Marine Vet Holds U.S. Flag Amid Portland Riots, Antifa Follows Him Home

For more than 50 nights, Gabriel Johnson, 48, a retired Marine, has been kept awake by the sounds of rioting and explosions taking place outside his window in Portland, Ore. After two months of living in fear, at 3 a.m. Sunday he had had enough, “at that point I [had] counted 82 explosions and just thought, you know, somebody has to do something.”

Living only a block away from the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in downtown Portland, which has become an epicenter of violence that has overtaken the city, Johnson marched into the chaos with his American flag in hand. . .

“I was being called the N-word by Black people. People were chasing me around with baseball bats,” Johnson told Fox News. . .

“Antifa has infiltrated Black Lives Matter,” Johnson said as he described a woman dressed in Black Lives Matter gear who showed him threatening footage of protesters following him back to his home, and letting him know they were keeping tabs on him. According to Johnson, this woman was also holding an Antifa pen and was communicating with others via walkie-talkie.

“These people have nothing to do with Black lives. Our Black community leaders need to stand up and lead because what’s happening is they’re letting a group of terrorists that don’t represent me use me, and that’s not right,” said Johnson. Judge Orders Release of Michael Cohen, Calls Imprisonment ‘Retaliatory’

A federal judge on Thursday said the recent move by the Justice Department to put former Trump attorney Michael Cohen back in prison was “retaliatory” and claimed it was related his forthcoming tell-all book, ordering Cohen released by Friday afternoon to home confinement.

The decision came after Cohen earlier this month was sent back to prison and into solitary confinement at Otisville federal prison in upstate New York after violating the terms of his home confinement.

U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York Alvin Hellerstein on Thursday said the move to send Cohen back to prison was “retaliatory” and believed it was related to his book.

Hellerstein said he determined “the purpose of the transferring” was “because of his desire to exercise his First Amendment rights to publish a book and discuss anything about the book.”

“That’s my essential finding and the injunction is against continuing retaliation against Mr. Cohen by keeping him in jail when he should be confined as he was before the retaliation at home,” the judge said. Planned Parenthood Finally Admits That Its Founder Was a Horrific Bigot; Abortion Giant to Remove Margaret Sanger’s Name

Planned Parenthood Finally Admits That Its Founder Was a Horrific Bigot

By New York Post. Planned Parenthood is finally removing the name of Margaret Sanger, its founder, from its Manhattan clinic — ending decades of denial about her horrid, racist views.

Just four years ago, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America did admit it was wrong of Sanger to speak to the Ku Klux Klan in 1926. And to support the sterilization of the disabled and “placing so-called illiterates, paupers, unemployables, criminals, prostitutes and dope fiends on farms and in open spaces as long as necessary for the strengthening and development of moral conduct.”

But it refused to confront her words such as: “The most urgent problem today is how to limit and discourage the over-fertility of the mentally and physically defective.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Finally Admits That Its Founder Was a Horrific Bigot” HERE)

Planned Parenthood to Remove Margaret Sanger’s Name From Center Over ‘Racist Legacy’

By The Hill. Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) announced Tuesday that it will remove the name of Margaret Sanger, who founded the national organization, because of her racist legacy and her connections to the eugenics movement.

Planned Parenthood’s Manhattan Margaret Sanger Health Center will be renamed, and city officials are working to rename the nearby Margaret Sanger Square. The organization said the new name would be announced soon.

Sanger, who was a nurse, established the first birth control clinic in the U.S., which would eventually become the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

PPGNY said the decision came out of “a public commitment to reckon with its founder’s harmful connections to the eugenics movement.”

Eugenics is a discredited, racist theory that states the human race can be “improved” through selective breeding of those with “desirable” traits. The theory often targeted poor people, people of color, those with disabilities and other marginalized groups. U.S. Orders China’s Houston Consulate to Close, Citing ‘Massive Illegal Spying’; FBI: China Harboring Military-Linked Biologist Fugitive

By The Federalist. The United States ordered China to shutter its consulate in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday, accusing the communist government of a “marked increase” in spying operations over the past few years.

The U.S. gave Chinese officials at the consulate 72 hours to move out before being evicted. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) suggested that any Chinese agents from the consulate who don’t leave the country within 72 hours would be arrested as spies.

The consulate is one of five in the U.S., not including the Chinese embassy in Washington.

A statement from a State Department spokesperson accused China of having “engaged for years in massive illegal spying and influence operations,” which have “increased markedly in scale and scope over the past few years.”

Additionally, State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus told Fox News that the U.S. “will not tolerate the PRC’s violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people, just as we have not tolerated the PRC’s unfair trade practices, theft of American jobs, and other egregious behavior.” (Read more from “U.S. Orders China’s Houston Consulate to Close, Citing ‘Massive Illegal Spying’” HERE)

FBI: China Harboring Military-Linked Biologist Fugitive

By Fox News. The Chinese consulate in San Francisco is harboring a biology researcher who falsely denied connections to the Chinese military to obtain a visa and gain access to the country, according to court documents filed by the FBI.

The filing came as part of a document that cited a slew of other alleged episodes in which Chinese nationals allegedly lied on their visa applications by hiding their military connections.

Tang Juan, a researcher at the University of California, Davis, stated on her J-1 visa application that she “had never served in the military, but open source investigation revealed photographs of her in the uniform of the Civilian Cadre of the PLA [People’s Liberation Army], and that she had been employed as a researcher at the Air Force Military Medical University, which is another name for FMMU [Fourth Military Medical University],” the FBI claimed.

Then, during an interview with FBI agents on June 20, Tang “denied serving in the Chinese military, claimed she did not know the meaning of the insignia on her uniform, and that wearing a military uniform was required for attendance at FMMU because it was a military school.”

The FBI revealed it then executed a search warrant immediately at Tang’s home and found additional evidence of Tang’s PLA affiliation. (Read more from “FBI: China Harboring Military-Linked Biologist Fugitive” HERE)

Illegal Alien Who Avoided Deportation Under Obama Accused of Killing Three in DUI

An illegal immigrant whom the Obama administration declined to deport after a DUI arrest in 2016 is now accused of another DUI — and this time, authorities say, three people were killed.

Ivan Robles Navejas, 28, is accused of crossing the center stripe on the road on a highway near San Antonio on Saturday and smashing into riders from the Thin Blue Line motorcycle club. Three riders were killed and four others sent to the hospital in critical condition.

ICE says Mr. Navejas is in the country illegal and they’ve put an immigration detainer on him, meaning that if he’s released by local authorities, the feds want a crack at deporting him.

But the agency said it had Mr. Navejas in its sights back in 2016, after a previous drunken-driving arrest in Kerr County. Deportation officers came across him at the Kerr County Jail, but ICE says he “did not meet the agency’s enforcement priorities at that time.”

Under the Obama administration, most illegal immigrants were deemed low-priority cases, and officers at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were told not to bother ousting them, effectively putting them off limits barring new, serious criminal cases against them.
