39 Missing or Endangered Kids Rescued in ‘Operation Not Forgotten’ Bust

Nearly 40 missing or endangered children have been rescued by federal and state agents in Georgia, as part of “Operation Not Forgotten,” according to authorities.

Thirteen missing children were found and an additional 26 endangered children were rescued during a two-week operation in Atlanta and Macon, The U.S. Marshals Service announced Thursday.

The missing children were considered to be “some of the most at-risk and challenging recovery cases” and some were likely victims of child sex trafficking, child exploitation, abuse and had medical or mental health conditions, officials said.

As part of the operation, investigators cleared 26 arrest warrants and filed additional charges for alleged crimes related to sex trafficking, parental kidnapping, registered sex offender violations, drugs and weapons possession, and custodial interference. President Trump Wants Drug Tests for Himself and Joe Biden Ahead of Their Upcoming Debate

President Donald Trump during a Wednesday interview said that he wants both himself and Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden to have drug tests prior to their debate next month.

Trump said Joe Biden performed poorly during his Democratic presidential primary debates but improved markedly during the last debate, where he went one-on-one against Sen. Bernie Sanders. Trump suggested that the former vice president could have taken drugs that boosted his performance.

“Nobody thought that he was even going to win,” the president told the Washington Examiner. “Because his debate performances were so bad. Frankly, his best performance was against Bernie. We’re going to call for a drug test, by the way, because his best performance was against Bernie. It wasn’t that he was Winston Churchill because he wasn’t, but it was a normal, boring debate. You know, nothing amazing happened. And we are going to call for a drug test because there’s no way — you can’t do that. DOJ Announces Charges for Nearly 100 Portland Rioters

The Department of Justice has announced 74 people have been charged with crimes connected to 90 nights of rioting and unrest in Portland.

“Violent agitators have hijacked any semblance of First Amendment protected activity, engaging in violent criminal acts and destruction of public safety,” U.S. Attorney Billy Williams released in a statement. “The U.S. Attorney’s Office and our federal law enforcement partners are expeditiously working with local and state law enforcement to identify, arrest, and prosecute these individuals that are disrupting the rule of law in our communities and physically attacking our law enforcement officers and destroying property. Violent agitators not only delay real reform, but make our community less safe by keeping law enforcement from responding to other critical calls for service.”

“While the FBI supports and safeguards Constitutionally-protected activity and civil rights, there is no permit for assault, arson or property damage and these are not victimless crimes,” Oregon FBI Special Agent in Charge Renn Cannon added. “Among the victims of violent crime are business owners, residents and individuals exercising their First Amendment rights through protests or other legitimate forms of expression.” (Read more from “DOJ Announces Charges for Nearly 100 Portland Rioters” HERE)

Trump Lands Major Endorsements From Democrat Mayors in Minnesota

A number of Democrat mayors from Minnesota endorsed President Donald Trump for a second term on Friday as Vice President Mike Pence campaigns in the state.

“Like many in our region, we have voted for Democrats over many decades. We have watched as our constituents’ jobs left not only the Iron Range, but our country. By putting tariffs on our products and supporting bad trade deals, politicians like Joe Biden did nothing to help the working class. We lost thousands of jobs, and generations of young people have left the Iron Range in order to provide for their families with good-paying jobs elsewhere. Today, we don’t recognize the Democratic Party. It has been moved so far to the left it can no longer claim to be advocates of the working class. The hard-working Minnesotans that built their lives and supported their families here on the Range have been abandoned by radical Democrats. We didn’t choose to leave the Democratic Party, the party left us,” the letter, signed by Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe, Chisholm Mayor John Champa, Ely Mayor Chuck Novak, Two Harbors Mayor Chris Swanson, Eveleth Mayor Robert Vlaisavljevich and Babbitt Mayor Andrea Zupancich, states.

Jacob Blake’s Lawyer Says Police Removed His Handcuffs in Hospital

The Kenosha Police Department released Jacob Blake from his handcuffs in the hospital, according to a statement from his lawyers.

Attorney Ben Crump, who also represented the family of George Floyd following his death in May, released the statement on Friday with his co-counsels Patrick Salvi and B’Ivory Lamarr. He added that criminal charges against Blake remain “pending.”

“We have learned today that the warrants for Jacob Blake were vacated, although the charges against him are still pending,” the statement reads. “Fortunately, a man who is paralyzed and fighting for his life after being shot seven times in the back, will no longer have to deal with the pain of having his ankles and wrist shackled and the traumatic stress of being under armed guard.”

Protests and violence that broke out in Kenosha, a Wisconsin city of roughly 100,000 residents, have been rising ever since viral video emerged of Blake being shot several times by police at close range during an arrest on Sunday. The Wisconsin Department of Justice, with the help of the United States Justice Department, is investigating the shooting. Man Believed to Be First in U.S. Infected With COVID Twice

A 25-year-old man in Nevada is believed to be the first coronavirus patient in the United States to recover from the illness and then contract it a second time.

The Reno resident experienced a wide range of COVID-19 symptoms before testing positive for the first time on April 18, researchers found in a study that was released Thursday as a pre-print. A pre-print means the study has not yet undergone a formal peer review.

By April 27, the man’s symptoms had subsided, and he received a negative coronavirus test result. Despite the recovery, more than a month later, on May 31, he was hospitalized and reported having similar symptoms to his first infection while also experiencing dizziness and a fever. A second coronavirus test was then performed on the man, and he tested positive.

“The patient had tested negative on two separate occasions in the interim. The genomes of the patient’s virus samples were sequenced in April and June, displaying significant genetic discordance between the two cases, implying the patient was infected twice,” according to a news release by the University of Nevada’s Reno School of Medicine. C-SPAN Had So Many Democrats Calling in Support for Trump That They Had to Change Their Protocol

C-SPAN changed their open phone line labels after an overwhelming number of Democratic viewers called on Wednesday night proclaiming their support for President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

“I’m a longtime Democrat, born and raised … After watching tonight … I have made up my mind. I am definitely gonna vote for Donald Trump,” said one of the many voters who dialed in.

Before the Republican National Convention, C-SPAN’s open phone lines were labeled as open for “Democrats,” “Republicans,” and “Other” viewers to call into and share their opinions on-air. After Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, however, C-SPAN received an influx of callers who identified as Democrat but said they would be voting for Trump in November.

Due to the increasing nature of these calls, the network adjusted the phone lines to encompass those who “Support Trump,” “Support Biden,” and “Support Others.”

While polling about the effect Trump’s speech on voters is not out yet, many of the callers who dialed in expressed their frustration with the Democratic Party as well as the Democratic National Convention. RNC Featured Diverse Lineup of Speakers

The 2020 Republican National Convention (RNC) this week featured a notable amount of diversity in its speaker lineup that included nearly two dozen Black, Hispanic, Asian, and even handicapped speakers.

The speakers delivered heartfelt speeches about their own personal struggles, how they became Republican, or how they have benefitted under the Trump administration.

One of the most memorable speeches from the first night of the RNC was from Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican senator of South Carolina, who said he went from flunking four subjects in high school to realizing that education was the closest thing to “magic.” . . .

Another memorable speech the first night was from Kimberly Klacik, a young female U.S. House of Representative candidate for Maryland’s 7th district.

Rep. Vernon Jones (D-GA), a Georgia state representative, also delivered a fiery speech on the first night, saying the Democrat Party does not “want black people to leave the mental plantation they’ve had us on for decades.”

Activist Paints ‘Baby Lives Matter’ Outside Planned Parenthood

Anti-abortion activist Tayler Hansen painted the phrase “Baby Lives Matter” on the street outside two women’s health clinics in Charlotte, N.C., this week.

The first one was painted outside of a Planned Parenthood facility, and the other was painted on the street near a clinic called, “A Preferred Women’s Health Center.”

Hansen said he is “trying to raise awareness in a truly peaceful way.” He’s painted the same phrase in Salt Lake City, Richmond and Washington.

WBTV’s Sky 3 took a picture of the mural outside the Planned Parenthood clinic, before it was painted over by other activists.

Local newspaper Queen City Nerve reported Thursday that Hansen’s painting outside the Planned Parenthood facility was covered with phrases such as, “Your body, your choice,” and “BLM.” (Read more from “Activist Paints ‘Baby Lives Matter’ Outside Planned Parenthood” HERE)

Hundreds of Faith Leaders Endorse Joe Biden

A coalition of more than 350 faith leaders endorsed Joe Biden for president this week, citing a need for “moral clarity” to “restore the soul of this nation.”

“Faith 2020 is raising awareness, mobilizing faith-rooted voters to get out the vote and doing our part to restore the soul of the nation,” the group wrote on its website. “We’re a group of progressives, independents and conservatives seeking change.”

Faith 2020 received endorsements from faith leaders of various religions – Christian, Jewish, Sikh, Muslim and others.

Its list includes well-known names, such as Nadia Bolz-Weber, a Lutheran minister who founded the LGBTQ-friendly House for All Sinners and Saints in Denver; and Robert W. Lee IV, a descendant of the Confederate general, who stepped down as pastor of a North Carolina church and became a supporter of Black Lives Matter.

The group points to notable decreases in support from White Catholics. Currently, 37 percent of White Catholics hold favorable views of the president, down from 49 percent in 2019, according to a PRRI study. (Read more from “Hundreds of Faith Leaders Endorse Joe Biden” HERE)
