GOP House Members ‘Furious’ Over Now Having to Pass Through Metal Detectors Before Entering Chamber

Several House Republicans are reportedly “furious” that they now have to pass through metal detectors before entering the lower chamber. The extra security measure was added in response to last week’s deadly attack on the Capitol building by a pro-Trump mob.

NBC News correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell tweeted Tuesday afternoon, “I never thought I’d see this. Metal detectors have been set up for members before they enter the House floor. A clear indication that Democratic leadership does not trust some right-wing House members.” . . .

The first Republican to resist was freshman Rep. Lauren Boebert (Colo.), who earlier this month made headlines about bringing her own firearm into work. . .

MSNBC reported that “Republican Reps. [Louie] Gohmert, [Steve] Stivers, [Van] Taylor, Boebert, [Debbie] Lesko, and [Larry] Bucshon were among those seen not complying with police at added security checkpoints in the U.S. Capitol.”

Facebook Permanently Bans Retailer Patrioticme From Advertising Pro-America Products

LeeAnn Miller would like an explanation from Facebook after the ad account for her business was disabled by the tech giant seemingly for no other reason than being patriotic. . .

The trouble with Facebook began the day after the election.

Miller, in partnership with Quantify, a business development firm, had advertised her products on Facebook. PatrioticMe’s advertisement was simple. It was made to look like a Facebook post with text before pictures featuring models wearing items for sale. . .

On Nov. 4, 2020, she received an email from the Facebook Ads Team informing her that her advertisements did not comply with Facebook’s advertising policies or other standards. . .

Instead of providing her with guidance as to which policies PatrioticMe’s ad violated, the email provided Miller with a link to the page outlining the entirety of Facebook’s advertising policies. She was also given two options: To take an “e-learning Blueprint course” called “Ad Policies for Content, Creative, and Targeting” to learn about the entirety of Facebook’s advertising policies, or to request a review of her ad account if she believed it shouldn’t be disabled. Ilhan Omar: The Need to Impeach Trump Is Just Like the Need to ‘Hold a Murderer’ Accountable (VIDEO)

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) told MSNBC on Tuesday Congress must impeach and remove President Trump because he is responsible for the riot at the Capitol building that resulted in five deaths and many injuries.

Trump is facing another impeachment vote this week as Democrats in Congress say he incited the riot last Wednesday while they were in the process of certifying the Electoral College results, resulting in President-elect Joe Biden’s victory permanent.

“I know that some have likened the reaction that we are getting, obviously, from the President and some of, you know, Democrats and some Republicans in Congress, to someone saying, you know, if we were to hold a murderer or someone who has committed violence accountable, there will be more. And to me, it is really the — having consequences for actions that act as a deterrent,” Omar said.

Supreme Court Rules ‘Womb Raider’ Be Put to Death

The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday night ruled “womb raider” Lisa Montgomery be put to death, a day after a federal judge in Indiana put a hold on her execution due to the state of her mental health.

The six to three vote, means Montgomery will become the first woman to be executed by the federal government in nearly 70 years.

The decision comes eight days before President Trump, who has been on an execution spree since last year, leaves office. President-elect Joe Biden adamantly opposes the death penalty.

On Monday, federal judge Judge Patrick Hanlon blocked Montgomery’s execution citing her deteriorating mental health condition. (Read more from “Supreme Court Rules ‘Womb Raider’ Be Put to Death” HERE)

Actor Asked to Leave Store for ‘Refusing’ to Wear a Mask

Bruce Willis was asked to leave a Los Angeles Rite Aid on Monday after he refused to wear a mask, a spy tells Page Six.

The spy says people inside the store became upset that Willis, 65, wasn’t wearing a mask — despite having a bandanna tied around his neck, which he could have easily pulled up.

We’re told the “Die Hard” star, who was photographed at the store without a mask on, walked away without making his purchase. (Read more from “Actor Asked to Leave Store for ‘Refusing’ to Wear a Mask” HERE)

Nancy Pelosi Names Trump Impeachment Managers

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday named nine managers who will lead President Trump’s second impeachment — including Rep. Eric Swalwell, who faced recent controversy for his relationship with a Chinese spy.

The House on Wednesday will begin impeachment proceedings against Trump for allegedly inciting last week’s Capitol riot. The impeachment is expected to pass with overwhelming Democratic support and at least three Republican votes. . .

Pelosi’s selection of Swalwell (D-Calif.) is a bold affirmation of the embattled House intelligence committee member, who has refused to say if he was romantically involved with Chinese spy Fang Fang. The FBI warned him about Fang in 2015 during his first year on the House intelligence committee. . .

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) will serve as the lead impeachment manager. The former American University law professor is known for his even keel and will assume the role held by the more divisive Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) during Trump’s first impeachment. . .

The other impeachment managers are Reps. Diana DeGette of Colorado, David Cicilline of Rhode Island, Joaquin Castro of Texas, Ted Lieu of California, Stacey Plaskett of the Virgin Islands, Joe Neguse of Colorado and Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania. DOJ Pursuing at Least 170 Suspects in Capitol Attack

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are scouring the country for more than 170 suspects in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The FBI reports receiving more than 100,000 tips from the public.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Michael Sherwin, interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, said that 70 individuals already face charges and that number could grow exponentially over the coming weeks and months.

The New York Times reported the attack could have ties to “domestic terrorist organizations” or “foreign adversaries” that could have “radicalized Americans” to take part in it:

In the sprawling Justice Department criminal inquiry run out of the F.B.I.’s Washington field office — the country’s second largest, with about 1,600 employees — agents and support staff have established a nationwide dragnet to identify members of the mob. At least five people died during the attack and in its immediate aftermath, including a police officer. In particular, the F.B.I. is working closely with the Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington to track down those whose attacked law enforcement.

The F.B.I. has moved quickly to ease some bureaucratic hurdles to making arrests, and it has received more than [100,000] photographic and video tips after asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects. Agents were also scrubbing airline passenger manifests and video of air travelers to and from Washington to find potential suspects.

Mike Pence Says He Won’t Invoke 25th Amendment Against Trump in Letter to Pelosi

Vice President Mike Pence sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday and stated he would not invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from office.

The letter, which was released as the House met to vote on calling on Pence to “convene and mobilize” President Trump’s cabinet to remove him from the White House.

Pence began his remarks by reflecting on last week’s events that unfolded at the U.S. Capitol, calling it a “moment that demonstrated to the American people the unity that is still possible in Congress when it is needed most.”

“But now, with just eight days left in the President’s term, you and the Democratic Caucus are demanding that the Cabinet and I invoke the 25th Amendment,” Pence told Pelosi. “I do not believe that such course of action is in the best interest of our nation or consistent with our Constitution.” (Read more from “Mike Pence Says He Won’t Invoke 25th Amendment Against Trump in Letter to Pelosi” HERE)

Major U.S. City Makes COVID Vaccine Mandatory to Attend Public School

Every public school student must be innoculated for the coronavirus before returning to class, once a vaccine is available, the superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District said Monday.

Comparing it to required vaccinations for measles and mumps, Austin Beutner said he hopes all students will be innoculated by January 2022, the Los Angeles Times reported.

During a pre-recorded briefing, he assured skeptical parents there’s an option for “a child to stay online learning and therefore not have to go back to campus.”

The Pfizer vaccine given emergency authorization by the FDA in December is for people 16 and older. Testing on children as young as 12 began in October and will take several more months to complete. . .

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top White House coronavirus adviser, said in August he would not support requiring the COVID-19 vaccine nationwide. (Read more from “Major U.S. City Makes COVID Vaccine Mandatory to Attend Public School” HERE)

Twitter Complains It’s Being Censored in Foreign Election

After permanently banning President Trump and other prominent conservatives last Friday, Twitter condemned the blocking of social media and messaging apps by Uganda during the African nation’s election, prompting many Twitter users to point out the irony.

“Ahead of the Ugandan election, we’re hearing reports that Internet service providers are being ordered to block social media and messaging apps,” said a tweet from the account of Twitter’s Global Policy Team.

“We strongly condemn internet shutdowns – they are hugely harmful, violate basic human rights and the principles of the #OpenInternet,” Twitter said.

Twitter acknowleged that earlier this week, “in close coordination with our peers,” the social media giant “suspended a number of accounts targeting the election in Uganda.”

“If we can attribute any of this activity to state-backed actors, we will disclose to our archive of information operations,” Twitter said. (Read more from “Twitter Complains It’s Being Censored in Foreign Election” HERE)
