FBI Twitter Request To Report ‘Extremist’ Friends, Family Doesn’t End Well

The FBI set itself up for disaster Sunday by posting a tweet encouraging Americans “to learn how to spot” signs of extremism among their friends and family members and then turn in those same friends and family members afterward.

“Family members and peers are often best positioned to witness signs of mobilization to violence. Help prevent homegrown violent extremism. Visit go.usa.gov/x6mjf to learn how to spot suspicious behaviors and report them to the #FBI. #NatSec,” the federal agency tweeted.

The tweet provoked widespread, bipartisan backlash, mockery and insults, both from conservatives angry over the bureau’s uneven application of the law, and also from the true liberals who’ve always despised the security state. . .

The anger from the right stemmed from the glaring dichotomy between the Department of Justice’s obsession with the Jan. 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol and its utter lack of interest in the deadly Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots that occurred throughout all of last year (and are still ongoing in certain sectors of the country).

12-Year-Old Boy Defending Mother Fatally Shoots Armed Home Intruder

A 12-year-old boy in Louisiana fatally shot an armed intruder who was threatening his mother inside their home, local authorities said.

The boy feared for his mother’s life when he used a hunting rifle to shoot 32-year-old Brad LeBlanc, who broke into their home located east of Clinton on June 30, according to a July 1 report from the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“Witnesses stated that a perpetrator forced entry into the home at this address to perform a home invasion. The perpetrator was in possession of a firearm. At some point during this incident the perpetrator was fatally shot by a resident of the home,” the department wrote in a statement.

First responders were dispatched to the scene, and CPR was administered to LeBlanc before he was transported to a local medical facility. He was pronounced dead at the hospital by the East Feliciana Parish Coroner.

“I don’t know what you tell a kid at that age. I’ve tried to reflect myself when my kids were 12-years-old, or maybe when I was 12-years-old, what I know is a very horrific incident. Freaky: Dems Want Phone Companies to Police Text Messages for Vaccine Misinformation; This COVID Vaccine Is Linked To Rare Nerve Syndrome

By Daily Caller. The Democratic National Committee reportedly wants Short Message Service (SMS) carriers to step in and police private text messages as part of a new push against COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

Allies of President Joe Biden, including the DNC, plan to “engage fact-checkers more aggressively” and work alongside phone companies to combat misinformation about vaccines shared via social media and private SMS messages, according to a Monday report from Politico.

White House officials are particularly frustrated with the characterization by some Republicans of their door-to-door pro-vaccination campaign, according to the report.

One example SMS message cited by Politico was sent by conservative activist group Turning Point USA, in which co-founder Charlie Kirk falsely contends that “Biden is sending goons DOOR-TO-DOOR to make you take a Covid-19 vaccine. Sign the petition to: No medical raids in America.”

“When we see deliberate efforts to spread misinformation, we view that as an impediment to the country’s public health and will not shy away from calling that out,” White House spokesman Kevin Munoz told Politico. FDA Attaches Warning of Rare Nerve Syndrome to Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

By New York Times. The Food and Drug Administration warned on Monday that Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine can lead to an increased risk of a rare neurological condition known as Guillain–Barré syndrome, another setback for a vaccine that has largely been sidelined in the United States.

Although regulators have found that the chances of developing the condition are low, they appear to be three to five times higher among recipients of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine than among the general population in the United States, according to people familiar with the decision. The warning was attached to fact sheets about the vaccine for providers and patients.

Federal officials have identified 100 suspected cases of Guillain-Barré among recipients of Johnson & Johnson’s one-dose shot through a federal monitoring system that relies on patients and health care providers to report adverse effects of vaccines. Ninety-five percent of those cases were considered serious and required hospitalization, the Food and Drug Administration said. The reports are preliminary. Over 300K Sign Petition Demanding Investigation Into Biden Family Corruption

Over 300,000 people have signed a Judicial Watch petition asking a special counsel to be appointed to investigate alleged Biden family corruption following years of allegations of pay-for-play schemes and questions looming around Hunter Biden’s business dealings with China and his role on the board of the Ukrainian oligarch-owned energy company Burisma, particularly as his father served as vice president at the time.

“There is substantial evidence, from documents and witness statements, that the Biden family, including President Joe Biden, may have been involved in criminal activity involving, among other issues, foreign entities tied to Ukraine and China,” the government watchdog’s petition states, noting that Hunter has “already acknowledged that he is the target” of an FBI criminal investigation.

“A special counsel should immediately be appointed because the Biden Justice Department is conflicted in investigating any matter that could implicate President Biden or his immediate family,” the petition adds. . .

DISTURBING: Abortion Activists Vandalize Jesus Statue, Calling Abortion a ‘Miracle’

In the middle of the night last Thursday, abortion activists scaled a 65-foot statue of Jesus Christ, rappelling up the statue in order to hang a 44-foot banner across the statue’s outstretched arms. The activists posted photos of the banner on Instagram.

The activist group responsible, Indecline, condemned the evangelical Christian culture behind many pro-life laws as “a cheap, performative morality,” declaring that legislators see a woman’s body as a place, “private property to be legislated by a group of landlords.”

Then the activist group made the absurd claim that Jesus would have supported the killing of babies in the womb because He “understood sacrifice very intimately.” He laid down His life to redeem His enemies, so He’d support the killing of innocent unborn babies or something.

“We think Jesus would understand the concept of a difficult decision. He supposedly had to make a few of them and understood sacrifice very intimately,” Indecline argued. “The Christ of the Ozarks is visible from miles away, so we just treated it like a billboard.”

Tellingly, the abortion group rejected both the terms “pro-choice” and “anti-life” as “double-speak.” Then the activists presented their credo: “We just think abortion is a g***amn miracle worth celebrating. It saves lives, but those lives are usually female.”

Top U.S. Commander in Afghanistan Relinquishes Post

The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan relinquished his position at a ceremony in the capital Kabul on Monday, taking the United States a step closer to ending its 20-year war. The move came as Taliban insurgents continue to gain territory across the country.

Another four-star general will assume authority from his U.S.-based post to conduct possible airstrikes in defense of Afghan government forces, at least until the U.S. withdrawal concludes by Aug. 31.

Gen. Scott Miller has served as America’s top commander in Afghanistan since 2018. He handed over command of what has become known as America’s “forever war” in its waning days to Marine Gen. Frank McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command. McKenzie will operate from Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida.

The handover took place in the heavily fortified Resolute Support headquarters in the heart of Kabul at a time of rapid territorial gains by Taliban insurgents across Afghanistan.

GOP War Rages and Centrists Hit Pro-Trump ‘Wackadoodles’

The internal Republican Party war continues to be red-hot between the pro-Trump and anti-Trump camps.

As Donald Trump’s supporters, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and Paul Gosar ride high with the former president’s supporters, former centrist GOP House members slammed them as “fringe” politicians.

Former Rep. Charlie Dent said that, in the past, these were “people who show up at a state party convention and you know they’d be kind of sitting out there, behind one of those stands, and you kind of ignore them. You laugh at them. You walk by.”

Now, said Dent, who retired in 2018, “some of these people [are] on the stage.” He called them “wackadoodles.”

Former Virginia Rep. Barbara Comstock, who lost in the anti-Trump 2018 midterm elections, referred to the Trump loyalists as stupid and idiots. “They so many say so many stupid things every day,” she said, referring to Greene, Boebert, Gaetz, and Gosar. ‘The Poop Piles up’: Images Show Chinese Ships Putting Human Waste Into South China Sea

Chinese ships operating in a disputed area of the South China Sea have been dumping raw sewage into the water, threatening marine life, a Monday report shows.

Simularity, a US-based data analysis and geospatial imagery company, released satellite images Monday, showing the extent of damage inflicted to coral reefs in the area by hundreds of anchored Chinese fishing vessels discharging human waste.

Over the past five years, there has been an increase in the chlorophyll-a concentration, which indicates a significant boost in the population of algae that feed off human waste, the report says.

“When the ships don’t move, the poop piles up. The hundreds of ships that are anchored in the Spratlys are dumping raw sewage onto the reefs they are occupying,” Liz Derr, the head of Simularity, said Monday at a Philippine online news forum on China’s actions in the South China Sea — the territory claimed by Beijing almost in its entirety — according to The Associated Press. Zoo Animals Are Receiving COVID-19 Vaccines

A growing number of zoos across the country have ordered specially designed COVID-19 vaccines for higher-risk animal species with the most interaction with human visitors, such as great apes and big cats.

The animal health company Zoetis has developed a two-dose vaccine specially formulated for animal use to “help protect the health and well-being of more than 100 mammalian species,” said Christina Lood, communications director at Zoetis.

“What is known is that mammals are susceptible to [COVID-19] to varying degrees — not reptiles or avian species for example. The zoo veterinarians use their own risk assessments to determine which mammals in their care should be vaccinated. … Plus they might consider whether certain animals are rare or endangered,” Lood told the Washington Examiner.

The Cincinnati Zoo and the Akron Zoo in Ohio as well as the Denver Zoo in Colorado, among others, will receive portions of 11,000 donated doses of the vaccines to administer to a handful of animals. The Denver Zoo will administer the first round of shots to some gorillas, lions, and tigers, which have the highest likelihood of getting sick from the coronavirus. Listeria Outbreak Tied to Chicken Recall Turns Deadly

One person has died and three others remain hospitalized from a listeria outbreak tied to recently recalled fully cooked chicken, according to federal health officials.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted a warning notice online, which was last updated July 9, noting that there have been three illnesses and one death reported in two states since its investigation linking “listeria monocytogenes illnesses to precooked chicken produced at Tyson Foods Inc.” started in June.

The reported death occurred sometime between April 6 and June 5, 2021, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service’s (FSIS) recall notice.

The two agencies are working together after FSIS received reports on June 9 that two people fell ill with listeriosis.

“During routine sample collection, FSIS collected two precooked chicken samples from two establishments that are closely related genetically to Listeria monocytogenes from ill people,” FSIS wrote. “One of the samples was collected at Tyson Foods Inc.”
