17 American Christian Missionaries Abducted by Gang in Haiti

A group of 17 U.S. missionaries, including children, were kidnapped by a gang in Haiti on Saturday, according to a voice message sent to various religious missions by an organization with direct knowledge of the incident.

The missionaries were on their way home from building an orphanage, according to a message from Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries.

“This is a special prayer alert,” the one-minute message said. “Pray that the gang members would come to repentance.” (Read more from “17 American Christian Missionaries Abducted by Gang in Haiti” HERE)

Parents Outraged as Doctor Schedules Abortion Without Permission

Zoey-Lea O’Hehir and her husband Jake are speaking out about the cruel way they found out their daughter Arlee has Down syndrome.

In an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, O’Hehir said she was in the middle of teaching when she received the phone call delivering the diagnosis. She was told that her daughter had Down syndrome and that the doctor had already scheduled an abortion. “It was very scary and just the mention of termination struck a nerve,” she said. “Before I could say anything, before I could process anything or even breathe [he’d scheduled the termination].”

After trying for three years, the O’Hehirs were thrilled to be pregnant. But after the diagnosis, the care they received plummeted. After they refused the abortion, they were told that there were only three outcomes to expect: lifelong dialysis treatment, stillbirth, or neonatal death. Yet Arlee, now seven months old, is thriving and meeting all developmental milestones.

“She’s amazing and has brought so much happiness to our life,” her mother said. “She may have a little bit of low muscle tone, which comes with Down syndrome, but other than that she’s honestly just like a normal baby.”

Sadly, O’Hehir’s experience is far from rare. Down Syndrome Australia (DSA) said families were routinely pressured to have an abortion, or are not given enough support. “To hear families being repeatedly asked about termination and not supported in their decision [to proceed with the pregnancy] is a case of neglect,” DSA chief executive Ellen Skladzien said. “We heard about doctors who told families that their child would have a lifetime of suffering or that they would never achieve anything.” (Read more from “Parents Outraged as Doctor Schedules Abortion Without Permission” HERE)

Woman Raped On Train As Bystanders Did Absolutely Nothing To Help Her

A woman was raped Wednesday night on a Philadelphia train while bystanders did nothing to help her, authorities said Friday.

Authorities arrested the suspect, 35-year-old Fiston Ngoy, at the 69th Street Transportation Center after a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) employee noticed the attack and called police, law enforcement officials said, according to NBC 10. Authorities believe Ngoy is homeless and did not know the victim, NBC 10 reported.

Timothy Bernhardt, Superintendent of the Upper Darby Police Department, reportedly said the rape was captured on security cameras and expressed shock that passengers on the train did not intervene or alert authorities.

“It’s disturbing that there were definitely people on the el and no one did anything to intervene or help this woman,” Bernhardt said. “The el” is a reference to Philadelphia’s elevated train line that runs between Upper Darby and the Frankford section of the city.

“The assault was observed by a SEPTA employee, who called 911, enabling SEPTA officers to respond immediately and apprehend the suspect in the act,” SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch said, according to NBC 10. “There were other people on the train who witnessed this horrific act, and it may have been stopped sooner if a rider called 911.” (Read more from “Woman Raped on Train as Bystanders Did Absolutely Nothing To Help Her” HERE)

‘Trained Marxist’ BLM Co-Founder Appointed as a County Commissioner

A Black Lives Matter co-founder who once admitted that she had been “trained” to be a Marxist organizer has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Patrisse Cullors recently revealed the move in a newsletter to her supporters, titled “The Abolitionist’s Update on Art and Activism.” She said she “came back and hit the ground running” after “some much needed time of rest.” In May, Cullors stepped down as executive director of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation following a controversy surrounding her property purchases.

“I’m thrilled to continue to weave my roles as artist and organizer, where I can continue to support Black creatives,” Cullors wrote in the update sent last week. “I have a ton of to-do’s on my list. I won’t share them now. Just stay put and watch as they unfold.”

“I truly believe Black creatives are the backbone of our society and community,” she continued. “We are often under represented and under resourced. But I plan on advocating for the full support of Black creatives across my beautiful ass city!”

Cullors was appointed to the commission by L.A. County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, a Democrat. The group functions in an advisory role to the powerful L.A. County Board of Supervisors, the governing body of America’s most populated county. A press release from Mitchell’s office said, “Cullors will serve on behalf of the 2 million residents of the Second District,” which is represented by Mitchell and includes Watts, Compton, Inglewood, and Koreatown. Former President Clinton was released around 8 a.m. from the University of California Irvine Medical Center. Clinton was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, with an infection unrelated to COVID-19, The AP reported.

“President Clinton was discharged from UC Irvine Medical Center today. His fever and white blood cell count are normalized and he will return home to New York to finish his course of antibiotics. On behalf of everyone at UC Irvine Medical Center, we were honored to treat him, and will continue to monitor his progress.” Dr. Alpesh N. Amin said in a statement.

Netflix Has Fired Trans Employee Who Led Walkout Over Chapelle Special, Allegedly Leaked Data

. . .Netflix’s “Dave Chappelle: The Closer” triggered trans employees enough at Netflix that they took part in a walkout. The employee who led the walkout has since been fired, as they also allegedly leaked data.

The fired employee, who is Black and currently pregnant and did not wish to be named, declined comment for The Verge. Another Netflix employee, however, did speak to the outlet. As Zoe Schiffler reported:

“All these white people are going around talking to the press and speaking publicly on Twitter and the only person who gets fired is the Black person who was quiet the entire time,” says a former employee in an interview with The Verge. “That’s absurd, and just further shows that Black trans people are the ones being targeted in this conversation.”

Schiffler referenced how metrics ended up in reporting with Bloomberg. That report in question, by Lucas Shaw from October 13, notes specifics about the reach and profitability of Chapelle’s specials. Shaw also writes:

Netflix shares lots of company data, including salaries and quarterly results, with employees as part of its culture of freedom and responsibility. It does so on the condition that those employees don’t share financial results or the performance of individual titles with the public. But the Chappelle special has prompted leaks unprecedented in the company’s history.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Brother Spills on Family in Groundbreaking Interview

A member of the infamous Maxwell clan says you’re never gonna keep the family down.

Not even after 50 years of headline-making indignity. Not even as one of their own sits in a Brooklyn jail cell amid a seedy international sex scandal.

“This is a family that sticks together,” Ghislaine Maxwell’s older brother, Ian, said in a new interview with the Telegraph.

“Ghislaine has people who love her; people who trust her. This is a family that has been knocked down, gets up, gets knocked down again and then gets up. We are a family that fights for each other and this is a big fight we are in. We are hopeful justice will prevail as it must.”

Ghislaine Maxwell has been held for more than a year at the Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting trial on sex abuse and trafficking charges. She’s accused of horrific crimes, delivering underaged girls to child rapist Jeffrey Epstein, who later killed himself in a Manhattan jail. Under Biden Administration Plan, Poor Would Be Three Times More Likely To Get IRS Audit Than 1 Percenters

Under a new Biden administration proposal, the Internal Revenue Service is three times more likely to audit a citizen making less than $25,000 rather than someone in the top 1 percent of wealth.

The new proposal, which would require financial institutions to annually report customers’ account deposits and withdrawals at $600 or more, gives the IRS more leverage over those making less than $25,000, because they are more likely to have irregular income. Over the next decade, the reporting on more than 140 million bank accounts would raise an estimated $700 billion in tax revenue — which would cover social spending in the Reconciliation Bill.

Discussion of raising the threshold to $10,000 has not eased any tension. More than 40 banks urged lawmakers to vote against such a proposal in a letter addressed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. The banks warned against the mandatory collection of most Americans’ financial information “without proper explanation of how the IRS will store, protect, and use this enormous trove of personal financial information” could result a “tremendous liability” (Read more from “Under Biden Administration Plan, Poor Would Be Three Times More Likely To Get IRS Audit Than 1 Percenters” HERE)

Blast From the Past: Was World’s First Fatal Nuclear Explosion Sparked by a Love Triangle?

People in this remote, high-desert town still talk about the alleged mysterious love triangle that, 60 years ago, triggered a murder-suicide — and resulted in the world’s first fatal nuclear explosion.

The accident never got the same attention as Three Mile Island (1979), Chernobyl (1986) or Fukushima (2011). But the sensational story behind it lives in infamy, even though some experts believe it may have been made up by government officials.

This single sentence is true: Army Specialists Jack Byrnes, 22, and Richard McKinley, 26, and Navy Seabee Richard Legg, 26, died violent, gruesome deaths on Jan. 3, 1961, at the US Army’s pioneering SL-1 reactor in Idaho.

Located some five miles from Atomic City, in the desolate Lost River desert, the reactor was part of the Army’s plan to establish portable nuclear power at remote bases in the Arctic during the height of the Cold War.

The three men were known to partake in strippers and alcohol in Idaho Falls during their off-hours. Hotheaded Byrnes and prankster Legg, who had been promoted above Byrnes, were rivals at work and had reportedly once gotten into a drunken fistfight at a party. Legg had also taunted Byrnes, who was married with a 2-year-old son, about him cheating on his wife with a local hooker. Parents Announce ‘Not a Domestic Terrorist’ March in Washington

By the time Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland realizes what an incredibly stupid memo he wrote to the president accusing parents of ‘”harassment and intimidation” of school board members, his boss will probably be a lame-duck president ready to be put out to pasture.

Republicans couldn’t have drawn it up any better. What’s the best way to show how radical the Biden administration is? How about threatening parents with a federal investigation because they want a say in what their children are being taught?

That parental pushback will take substantive form on October 17, when there will be a “Not a Domestic Terrorist” rally in front of the Department of Justice Building.

The parental pushback issue has roiled the Virginia gubernatorial race. Democrat Terry McAuliffe made the gaffe of the race — so far — when he said he didn’t “think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” His opponent, Republican Glenn Youngkin, is firing with both barrels, blanketing the state with $3 million in ads about education.
