Scientists Are Dumbfounded That COVID-19 Barely Exists in Africa

COVID-19 has faded into the background of daily life in Africa, and scientists are unable to figure out exactly why.

With a population of 1.3 billion people, Africa is the world’s second most-populous continent, trailing only Asia, and it’s also the world’s poorest. But despite the gap in resources — Africa has much less access to vaccines than places like the Americas and Western Europe — the continent has experienced the second-lowest number of deaths from the virus of any of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) six designated regions.

Nearly 152,000 Africans have died of COVID-19 since the global pandemic began, according to the WHO. The Western Pacific region has seen just 136,267 deaths, but otherwise Africa has had the best pandemic outcome in the world. In the Americas, more than 2.3 million people have died from the virus, and in Europe, the number is nearly 1.5 million.

Scientists acknowledge that sparse reporting systems and poor data collections play some part in the low numbers, according to The Associated Press. But the astronomical gap between the region and the rest of the world is too substantial to simply chalk up to poor record-keeping, they say. Powerful Democrat Demands Federal Intervention Over Kyle Rittenhouse Acquittal: ‘A Dangerous Precedent’

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) is demanding a “federal review” of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, claiming Friday the acquittal of the 18-year-old amounted to a “miscarriage of justice.” . . .

Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, called on the Department of Justice to intervene over the “heartbreaking verdict.”

Unfortunately, Nadler also repeated the media’s misleading narrative about Rittenhouse being armed and having crossed state lines.

Although interstate travel is completely legal, Rittenhouse did not cross from Illinois to Wisconsin while armed. In fact, Rittenhouse’s dad lives in Kenosha, and the AR-15 rifle that Rittenhouse was armed with never left Wisconsin. And, at any rate, Rittenhouse lives in Antioch, a town on the Illinois-Wisconsin border just 20 minutes south of Kenosha.

Vaccine Holdouts at Key Military Bases Pose Staffing Dilemma

In late October, Phil Teuscher’s supervisor showed up at his office at the Navy’s top weapons testing base to let him know his name was on a list of thousands of base personnel who had failed to acknowledge receipt of the COVID-19 vaccine requirement.

In August, all branches of the U.S. military gave its service members and civilian employees an ultimatum: Get the vaccine or face being fired. At the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in California, the remote base where Teuscher has worked for 20 years, the first part of the mandate required all personnel to officially acknowledge receipt of the directive. The next step was a signed statement saying whether they have received a shot.

But Teuscher, 58, and many others who work for the Navy on and around the base have refused to comply with either directive. Using an online messaging app, Teuscher started connecting with other like-minded China Lake workers pushing back against the requirement. The group quickly grew to more than 300 participants, all deeply concerned about receiving the vaccine or outright refusing it. Each day at lunchtime, dozens of workers gather outside the base to protest the mandate.

Some employees connected to the base, all of whom require security clearances to work there, are pointing to underlying health problems they believe the vaccine could exacerbate while others cite religious exemptions. Teuscher, a production manager for a highly sophisticated missile program at the base’s Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, or NAWCWD, is not making either claim. Instead, he’s choosing to fight the legality of the mandate on principle. . .

But the Navy faces its own dilemma as the deadlines loom. With roughly 10% of the base’s highly educated and trained personnel refusing the shot, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to maintain all the classified weapons and their testing operations in top working order if all resisters are fired. Report: Dr. Fauci Confides There’s Only One Time He Wears a Mask

Dr. Anthony Fauci says his view of wearing a mask in public has evolved with “the science” since he declared on “60 Minutes” early in the pandemic that people shouldn’t go around town wearing them.

But judging by his actions, his latest assessment of “the science” appears to be that people need to wear a mask only around those they don’t trust.

Politico, citing Washington Post writer and author Sally Quinn, reported Fauci was at a book party last Tuesday night for Jonathan Karl where the White House coronavirus adviser was taking his mask off and on depending on whom he was around.

Quinn, who was married to famed Post editor Ben Bradlee until his death, has known Fauci since he was a young NIH doctor. She asked him why he holding his mask at the party, where guests had to show proof of vaccination.

“I said, ‘You seem pretty ambivalent about your mask’ because no one else was wearing one,” Quinn told Politico’s Playbook. (Read more from “Report: Dr. Fauci Confides There’s Only One Time He Wears a Mask” HERE)

Joe Biden ‘Angry and Concerned’ About Rittenhouse Verdict, Calls for Protests; Verdict Breaks Hollywood: ‘I Weep for This Country’

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden reacted to the “not guilty” verdicts from the jury in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial on Friday.

“While the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the jury has spoken,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House.

The president said he would continue working to “heal our country’s wounds” until “every American is treated equally, with fairness and dignity.” He called for protests of the verdict to remain peaceful.

“I urge everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law,” he said. “Violence and destruction of property have no place in our democracy.” (Read more from “Joe Biden ‘Angry and Concerned’ About Rittenhouse Verdict, Calls for Protests” HERE)

Kyle Rittenhouse Not Guilty Verdict Breaks Hollywood: ‘I Weep for This Country’

By Breitbart. Left-wing Hollywood celebrities experienced a collective meltdown after a jury in Kenosha, Wisconsin, acquitted 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse of all charges on Friday. “I weep for this country,” one star lamented, while another claimed the verdict represented a victory for “white supremacy.”

Celebrities including Sophia Bush, Patton Oswalt, and Josh Gad took their cues from the establishment media by insisting on a racial angle to the verdict, even though all the parties in the case were white. Other celebrities simply vented their rage, like Alyssa Milano, who hurled expletives at her TV as the verdict was read.

“This is white supremacy in action,” Sophia Bush tweeted.

“So…the white guy goes free. Is that the message?” author Stephen King wrote. . .

In one bizarre instance, ABC’s Scandal star Kerry Washington paid tribute to the two men Rittenhouse shot and killed out of self-defense — Joseph Rosenbaum, a pedophile sex offender, and Anthony Huber, a habitual woman beater.

WATCH: Biden Caresses 7-Year-Old Whispers ‘Meet Me After This’

President Joe Biden continued his unbroken streak of seedy gaffes around children when he put his hands on a 7-year-old boy before offering to escort the child around the White House.

The latest cringeworthy exchange occurred Thursday while Biden was signing legislation to support first responders. That itself was interesting since he said last month that unvaccinated first responders should be fired.

At the signing, Biden chatted with Jake Bomba, the young son of a Maryland police officer who took his own life in 2019, according to WUSA-TV.

Black Rifle Coffee — Who Disavowed Rittenhouse — Silent After Not Guilty Verdict

Black Rifle Coffee was silent on all the company’s social media accounts after the bombshell verdict in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse came back “Not Guilty” on all five counts.

The veteran-founded coffee company had distanced itself from Rittenhouse after the teenager took a post-bail photo wearing a Black Rifle Coffee T-shirt and BlazeTV host Elijah Schaffer posted the photo along with the caption, “Kyle Rittenhouse drinks the best coffee in America.”

Schaffer, whose podcast was sponsored by Black Rifle Coffee, deleted his tweet, and a company spokeswoman said to the Salt Lake Tribune, “We did have a conversation with Schaffer, and he understands that the post was a mistake.”

The company’s CEO Evan Hafer also issued a statement disavowing any relationship with Rittenhouse that said, “We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI.”

White House Opinion on Inflation Labeled ‘Economically Illiterate’

It costs more to pay rent each month and to fill up a tank of gas every week and to put food on the table every day. So, at a moment when the dollar doesn’t go as far as it once did, should Americans worry that injecting another $1.85 trillion into the economy might increase inflation?

No, Jen Psaki told Peter Alexander this week. And why not? Well, the White House press secretary explained to the NBC News correspondent, “because no economist out there is projecting that this will have a negative impact on inflation.”

Of course, that isn’t true. There are many economists out there and some of them do warn that the Build Back Better plan will further increase the prices that dog consumers and can doom the careers of politicians. But the existence of economists with views contrary to those held by the president’s National Economic Council isn’t entirely the point. At issue more broadly is the fulfillment of something Joe Biden said back in April 2020.

“Milton Friedman,” he said as a candidate, “isn’t running the show anymore.” And nothing could be truer now that Biden is the president.

As the first year of his administration nears completion, inflation has emerged as an unwelcome accompaniment. It has not hit the double-digit levels that propelled Friedman, the late Nobel Prize laureate who warned about the dangers of an unchecked money supply, to prominence in the late 1970s. But consumer prices jumped 6.2%, years over year, in October, the biggest such increase in three decades. (Read more from “White House Opinion on Inflation Labeled ‘Economically Illiterate’” HERE)

Parents Protest After Student Who Posted ‘Up-Skirt’ Photos of Female Schoolmates Is Allowed to Return to Class (VIDEO)

Outraged parents and students protested after a Massachusetts high school allowed a student to return to class after he posted inappropriate photographs of his female schoolmates on social media.

Protesters said that students didn’t feel safe at Westfield High School after the student was suspended for posting 200 of these photographs, but was allowed back to class after his punishment.

“They were very inappropriate pictures, some were taken at beach day, some were taken inside of the classroom, mostly pictures of their backsides,” said Lisa Auffrey, a parent of a Wakefield student, to WBZ-TV. “This has been emotionally taxing for them. It has been a huge disruption.”

The hundreds of photographs were posted to the Discord social media platform where the student encouraged others to rank the girls and even sold some of the images.

“These pictures were taken without their consent, they didn’t even know what was going on,” said Robert Imbriano, another parent. “From the beginning, it was very traumatic for my daughter.” (Read more from “Parents Protest After Student Who Posted ‘Up-Skirt’ Photos of Female Schoolmates Is Allowed to Return to Class” HERE)

Defense Attorney Reveals Kyle Rittenhouse’s Next Moves, Career Goal

Defense attorney Mark Richards revealed Friday that his client Kyle Rittenhouse, now acquitted of all charges, will likely have to leave his hometown due to the overwhelming number of threats he’s received.

“He has to get on with his life, the best he can,” Richards told reporters outside the courthouse. “I don’t think he’ll continue to live in this area, I think it’s too dangerous. He’s had 24-hour security since this happened. We’re thankful that the judge protected his address.”

“Everybody in this case — and when I say that, I mean prosecution and defense — to me, it’s scary how many death threats we’ve gotten,” the attorney added. Richards said he had to stop answering his phone after receiving numerous death threats in a row.

The attorney was also asked by the press if Rittenhouse has at all been deterred about wanting to become a first responder. Richards said the teenager dreams of becoming a nurse. (Read more from “Defense Attorney Reveals Kyle Rittenhouse’s Next Moves, Career Goal” HERE)
