Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) said on this week’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” that Republicans were worse than “evil.”

Capehart said, “Let’s put up on the screen some recent sampling of the Republican’s violent rhetoric that we have seen. You see Boebert, her Islamic-phobic remarks against Congresswoman Omar. You have Congressman Gosar and the anime video. Marjorie Taylor Greene, that’s just two of many things she has done, including getting up in the face of Congresswoman Cori Bush so much so Congresswoman Bush moved her office because she felt threatened. Then you see Congressman Yoho for misogynistic remarks against about Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez among other things. Congresswoman Waters, since you’re the only member of the House on this panel and on the show right now, are the democrats going to hold onto the majority?” . . .

She added, “The American people are going to be able to distinguish between us and them. In the final analysis, we’re going to win. We’re going to beat them. We don’t take anything for granted. We know that they’re evil. We know that they lie. Russia War Fears Erupt as Putin Brutally Rejects Final Meeting With Outgoing Merkel

The Russian President rejected a meeting with Mrs Merkel after she requested an audience with him to discuss the escalating Russian military presence on the border with Ukraine. She called for a strong EU response in the wake of the rejection, saying that she “very much regretted” Putin’s decision to snub the talks.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Poland in Berlin, she said: “I very much regretted that the Russian president is not prepared — nor is the Russian foreign minister — to hold another high-level political meeting in the Normandy format at the end of my term.”

She also floated new sanctions against Russia “if we see no progress at all”, as she warned that Moscow was not signalling interest in resolving the conflict.

At the same press conference, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki claimed that Putin’s ultimate goal was to divide the EU and NATO, referring to Russia’s alleged role in the migrant crisis at the Poland/Belarus border.

Here’s How Many Hours of Sleep a Night Are Associated With Cognitive Decline

A good night’s sleep is important for many reasons. It helps our body repair itself and function as it should, and is linked to better mental health and lower risk of many health conditions – including heart disease and diabetes. It’s also been shown that not getting enough sleep is linked to cognitive decline and conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.

But more isn’t always better, as one recent study found. Researchers from the Washington University School of Medicine have published a paper that indicates that just like getting too little sleep, sleeping too much may also be linked with cognitive decline.

The research team wanted to know how much sleep was linked to cognitive impairment over time. To do this, they looked at 100 older adults in their mid-to-late-70s on average, and tracked them for between four and five years. At the time of their study, 88 people did not show any signs of dementia, while 12 showed signs of cognitive impairment (one with mild dementia and 11 with the pre-dementia stage of mild cognitive impairment).

Throughout the study, participants were asked to complete a range of commonplace cognitive and neuropsychological tests to look for signs of cognitive decline or dementia. Their scores from these tests were then combined into a single score, called the Preclinical Alzheimer Cognitive Composite (PACC) score. The higher the score, the better their cognition was over time.

Sleep was measured using a single-electrode encephalography (EEG) device, which participants wore on their forehead while sleeping, for a total of between four to six nights. This was done once, three years after people first completed their annual cognitive tests. This EEG allowed the researchers to accurately measure brain activity, which would tell them whether or not someone was asleep (and for how long), and how restful that sleep was. Popular Household Drink May Be Secret to Living Longer Life

Research published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology has found that one common household drink could be the secret to a longer life. . .

Surprisingly, experts say that drinking tea can help people live longer.

The study, analysed more than 100,000 people with a history of cancer, heart attack or stroke.

They split the study into two groups: those that drank tea three or more times a week, and those who did not.

New Variant Represents a “Significant Potential Risk” to Vaccine and Natural-Induced Immunity

Vaccine maker Moderna says the new Omicron variant represents a “significant potential risk” to the efficacy of its Covid-19 vaccine as well as immunity reached naturally.

“The recently described Omicron variant includes mutations seen in the Delta variant that are believed to increase transmissibility and mutations seen in the Beta and Delta variants that are believed to promote immune escape,” Moderna said Friday in a news release.

“The combination of mutations represents a significant potential risk to accelerate the waning of natural and vaccine-induced immunity,” the company said.

Woman With Spina Bifida Sues Mom’s Doctor for Millions, Says She Never Should Have Been Born

An English woman with spina bifida is suing her mother’s former doctor for millions of dollars in health care costs and damages claiming that she should never have been born.

Evie Toombes, a 20-year-old equestrian show jumper from Lincolnshire, is suing her mother’s general practitioner, Dr. Philip Mitchell, for “wrongful conception” after he allegedly failed to advise her mother to take folic acid supplements before getting pregnant that she claims resulted in her birth defect, according to The Telegraph.

Toombes was diagnosed with lipomyelomeningocele after her birth in November 2001, a neural tube defect to the spine. Her bones never properly developed along her spinal cord causing permanent disability.

She claims that her mother never would have had her if her doctor had informed her that she needed to take folic acid supplements to minimize the chances of the defect affecting her baby.

Her attorney, Susan Rodway, told the UK High Court judge that Toombes was suing for “having been born in a damaged state” and wants to recover millions of dollars needed to cover the costs of living with her condition. ‘No Mother Should Ever Go Through This’ Waukesha Victim, 11, Clinging to Life on Ventilator

An 11-year-old girl rammed by a career criminal in the Waukesha, Wis., Christmas parade massacre spent Thanksgiving unconscious in a hospital bed, clinging to life and breathing with the help of a ventilator, her distraught mother told The Post.

Jessalyn Torres, 11, is one of nine children injured in the Nov. 21 crash who are still being treated at Children’s Wisconsin Hospital.

“No mother should ever go through this. This is a very traumatic ordeal,” her mother, Amber Kohnke, told The Post.

“The hardest part was not being with everyone and Jessalyn, in the condition she is, was not able to be with her family either,” she said.

“It’s important to note that all these different states have different issues to run on, but education is really at the focal point of the culture war, and Republicans, I think, would be wise to follow the model of Glenn Younkin and adopt this issue and become champions for kids’ education. But again, they have other issues to run on as well,” Justice said.

These Public Schools Are Teaching Students That Celebrating Thanksgiving Is Evil

The Los Angeles Unified School District, the second-largest public school district in the nation with more than 640,000 K-12 students enrolled, discouraged students from celebrating Thanksgiving this year, instead offering an alternative holiday in its place.

The LAUSD Office of Human Relations, Diversity & Equity prepared a number of presentations called “Advisory Lessons” that push left-wing beliefs and are intended to be shown to students. The website also describes the need for teachers to talk to students about “power, privilege, oppression, and resistance.”

One such lesson is called “Let’s Talk About Thanksgiving.” It starts out innocently enough, asking students if they prefer pie or turkey. Then the presentation lists a number of objectives, one of which is “Reflect on how you can honor the true meaning of Thanksgiving.”

What exactly is this true meaning, you might ask? The presentation doesn’t waste any time, jumping into a video from MTV titled “Everything You Know About Thanksgiving Is Wrong.” It challenges the finer details of the first Thanksgiving, like the nature of the food that they ate and the clothes that the pilgrims wore. The video goes on to entirely overshadow the three-day pilgrim festival at which 90 members of the Wampanoag tribe were present, the event that would later go on to be called Thanksgiving.

It does, however, discuss the extensive history of violent conflict between Native peoples and the pilgrims, all while falsely framing such conflict as if it was exclusively initiated and carried out by the European settlers. By Breitbart. President Joe Biden claimed “America’s back” Thanksgiving Day as food prices have soared to historic highs, and the celebrative feast will cost 14 percent more than last year.

Biden called into Al Roker’s coverage of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, when the host wanted Biden’s “message to the American folks on this day.”

“My message is after two years, you’re back, America’s back, there’s nothing we’re unable to overcome, Al,” Biden said. “And you’re one of the reasons for that. You’re always up and moving.”

Roker thanked the 79-year-old and told him “Santa is coming,” to which the president replied, “I’m waiting for Santa.”

Biden Welcomed to Nantucket on Thanksgiving Day With the Middle Finger

By Breitbart. A Nantucket man reportedly gave President Joe Biden’s motorcade the middle finger as Biden made a stop on Thanksgiving during his stay at billionaire David Rubinstein’s compound.

Biden and first lady Jill greeted the U.S. Coast Guard members before retiring to their vacation home on Rubenstein’s island. Biden gave “challenge coins” to Coast Guard members as a way to commemorate their service.

The President said to Coast Guard members:

I’m not joking when I say I’m thankful for these guys – I’m thankful for them, and everybody, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I’ve watched them in the South China Sea, I’ve watched them in Afghanistan, Iraq. I’ve watched them in South America … Wherever they are.”

However, there was “one gentleman standing on his porch giving the middle finger to the presidential motorcade as we neared the coast guard station,” according to White House pool reporter Zolan Kanno-Youngs.
