CNN: Trump Lawyers Received ‘Written Invitation’ to Inspect GA Voting Machines

CNN reported Sunday that lawyers for the 2020 presidential campaign of President Donald Trump received a “written invitation” to inspect voting machines and software in Georgia’s Coffee County — though that is not how CNN’s headline portrayed it.

In the CNN story, Trump is described as being implicated in a “voting system breach,” implying that he had personally hacked into voting systems, or that his campaign had done so. But the “breach” happened after the election, and appeared authorized.

CNN’s lead story on Sunday is titled: “Messages show Trump’s team behind voting system breach.” The article itself connects the “breach” with an imminent indictment of Trump that is expected in Georgia’s Fulton County over 2020 election challenges.

The article’s first paragraph drops the hint that the “breach” occurred in Georgia, not nationwide; and that it was not prior to the 2020 election, or the 2024 election, but rather in the aftermath of the 2020 election, when questions arose about potential fraud. Biden-Harris to Pass On Visiting Maui: They ‘Don’t Want to Distract’ From Relief Efforts

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will not visit Maui in the aftermath of the deadly wildfires because they “don’t want to distract” from the relief efforts, Harris announced on Friday.

The wildfires, which began Tuesday and continue to blaze, have destroyed acres of property and taken dozens of lives. On Friday, local officials announced the death toll increased to 67, making it the deadliest wildfire on U.S. soil since the 2018 Camp Fire in California killed at least 85 people.

The wildfires have destroyed at least 2,000 acres of land, including 80 percent of the Maui town Lahaina, a rich cultural area that was once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

Neither Biden nor Harris will visit the devastated Hawaiian island despite the destruction, according to Harris. (Read more from “Biden-Harris to Pass On Visiting Maui: They ‘Don’t Want to Distract’ From Relief Efforts” HERE)

Morris said while Hunter Biden was “important,” he acted on President Joe Biden’s behalf as a “bag man.”

Zelensky Fires All Heads of Ukraine’s Military Recruitment Amid Bribery Probe

It’s long been clear that Ukraine’s armed forces have undergone some significant recruitment problems amid generally low morale as throughout the summer the counteroffensive has stalled and appears failing. There’s also a grim emerging consensus that Ukraine is suffering staggering losses. Even just before the counteroffensive’s start, The Washington Post ran headlines such as Ukraine short of skilled troops and munitions as losses, pessimism grow.

Related this are all of the recent videos of young Ukrainian men being conscripted across the country which have widely circulated. Those who are fearful of being sent to the front are often actively engaging in evasive and, in some instances, illegal tactics to avoid such a fate. Some with money can pay off military recruitment officers, perhaps.

This week, even one of Kiev’s most ardent supporters and NATO backers – Poland, has said the counteroffensive is likely to fail. Polish President Andrzej Duda said in a fresh Washington Post interview, “Does Ukraine have enough weapons to change the balance of the war and get the upper hand?” And he answered his rhetorical with – “Probably, no.”

“We know this by the fact that they’re not currently able to carry out a very decisive counteroffensive against the Russian military,” Duda conceded. “To make a long story short, they need more assistance.” And now on the battlefield, the Kharkiv area is being evacuated of civilians amid Russian advances. Hunter Biden’s Attorney Says He’s ‘Confident’ First Son Won’t Face New Criminal Charges

A lawyer for Hunter Biden said Friday that he’s confident that the first son won’t face new criminal charges even after Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss was named special counsel, arming him with new powers in the investigation.

Defense attorney Chris Clark said he’s unaware of any wrongdoing Hunter Biden committed outside of Delaware and that he is baffled that Mr. Weiss would ask to be named special counsel.

“It is hard to see why [Mr. Weiss] would have proposed such a resolution if there were other offenses he could have successfully prosecuted, and we are aware of none,” Mr. Clark said. “We are confident when all of these maneuverings are at an end my client will have resolution and will be moving on with his life successfully.”

Mr. Clark’s statement comes after Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that he was elevating Mr. Weiss to special counsel to continue his Hunter Biden probe.

It also follows federal prosecutors’ motion Friday asking a judge in Delaware to drop the tax charges against Hunter Biden so they could refile them in California and that the case would likely result in a trial. State Denies Catholics the Right to Adopt

Massachusetts deserves a major slapdown for grotesque anti-Catholic discrimination against a couple who wanted to become foster parents.

Helped by the Becket Law legal aid group, Mike and Kitty Burke filed suit on Aug. 8 against state officials who rejected their application to be foster parents. In an exhaustive screening process, state agents gave the Burkes high marks and glowing comments, but the state turned them down because their Catholic “faith is not supportive” of the state’s promotion of transgender medical procedures. The Burkes’ beliefs on sexuality were the sole reason for the denial.

Yet, in this instance, even though gender transitions would be relevant to a minute proportion of children, the state denied the Burkes foster-care approval for any children, specifically because of Catholics’ faith-based qualms about gender transitions for minors. Even though the couple cleared all background checks with flying colors — they “really seem to understand adoption/foster care,” one interviewer said, and another called them “lovely people” — and even though they stated they would equally love children who said they are not heterosexual, the state said their faith-based refusal to support sex-change treatment was disqualifying.

This rejection was not only devastating to the Burkes but harmful to needy children. Some 19% of the 7,810 children in the state’s foster-care system are not placed with families. These unfortunate children are housed in institutional settings, with dozens in hospitals, despite not needing medical attention, because there is no room anywhere else. This is stunningly inhumane. The suit says others have been forced to stay in the agency’s own offices, “which are not equipped for overnight stays” because actual beds were so lacking. By the agency’s assessments, the Burkes could provide some of those children a loving home but will not be allowed to merely because of their religious beliefs. Microplastics Found in Human Hearts for First Time, Alarming New Study Finds

Microplastics commonly found in food packaging and paints have been discovered in the human heart for the first time.

The alarming find was made by a team of scientists from Beijing Anzhen Hospital in China, who analyzed the heart tissue of 15 patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery, according to the study published by the American Chemical Society.

Microplastics, which are less than 5 millimeters wide — or about the size of a pencil eraser, can enter the human body through the mouth, nose and other body cavities.

Doctors Kun Hua, Xiubin Yang and their team wanted to investigate whether these particles can enter people’s cardiovascular systems through indirect and direct exposures, according to a statement about the study.

Researchers collected and analyzed the heart tissue of the patients as well as blood samples from half of the participants. (Read more from “Microplastics Found in Human Hearts for First Time, Alarming New Study Finds” HERE)

Suicides Hit Record High Last Year in U.S., Men Are Vast Majority of Deaths

Suicides climbed to a record 49,500 last year, putting the suicide rate higher than it has been since the beginning of World War II, according to government data released Thursday.

Suicide deaths rose 3% in 2022, jumping by more than 1,000 deaths, the new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show.

The provisional data is based on U.S. death certificates and is almost complete, although it could change slightly before it is finalized.

Men took their own lives nearly four times as much as women.

A total of 39,255 men committed suicide last year, compared to 10,194 women. Both numbers are higher than in 2021, when suicides spiked 4% and a total of 38,358 men and 9,825 women took their own lives.
