Federal Government Bans Americans From Buying Popular Household Item

The federal government’s ban on incandescent light bulbs took effect on Tuesday, more than a decade and a half after such a rule was first proposed intending to promote energy efficiency.

A federal regulation to ban incandescent light bulbs was initially issued in 2007 following the enactment of the Energy Independence and Security Act during the Bush administration. Implementation of the ban was delayed from its initial date of 2012, then the rule was broadened during the Obama administration before it was reversed by the Trump administration.

The Biden administration in April 2022 moved ahead with a new rule from the Dept. of Energy (DOE) banning incandescent light bulbs starting on August 1, 2023. The rule requires that light bulbs must emit at least 45 lumens per watt (a lumen is a measure of brightness). It also bans the manufacture and sale of non-conforming bulbs – but not their use, so consumers may use such bulbs that they already possess.

The rule effectively bans most incandescent light bulbs because they typically produce about 15 lumens per watt according to Philips, a leading light bulb maker. However, the rule contains exceptions allowing incandescent bulbs to continue to be manufactured and sold if they’re used in things like household appliances or certain types of lamps, including those for bugs, plants, or marine signals, among others.

A regulatory enforcement memo from the DOE issued days after the rule was announced last year indicated that the agency will pursue civil penalties against manufacturers and private labelers that knowingly violate the ban, although it’s unclear from the document what those penalties may entail. Hunter Biden Bragged to Devon Archer That Chinese Tycoon Loved His ‘Last Name’ and ‘Aryan Godlike Men’ He Showed Off

Hunter Biden told his longtime business partner Devon Archer in 2011 that a Chinese mogul who secured the duo a multimillion-dollar deal loved him for his “last name” and the troupe of “very handsome Aryan godlike men” he brought with him everywhere, emails from the first son’s abandoned laptop reveal.

“Your question- ‘why does Super Chair love me so much?’ is easily answered. It has nothing to do with me and everything to do with my last name,” the younger Biden wrote to Archer in a Sept. 22, 2011, missive about his relationship with Chinese businessman Che Feng.

In an aside, Hunter added, “(and I bring along very handsome Aryan godlike men wherever I go).”

Feng — who was referred to as “The Super Chairman” by both Hunter and Archer — helped Biden’s firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners, and James Bulger’s Thornton Group LLC partner with Jonathan Li’s Bohai Capital and lateral launch Bohai Harvest RST, the emails indicate.

On Monday, Archer told the House Oversight Committee that Joe Biden met with Li for coffee while vice president, and later wrote a college recommendation letter for his daughter. Top Law Professor Throws Cold Water on Idea Trump’s Latest Indictment Will Stop Re-Election

Former President Donald Trump’s latest four-count indictment relating to the 2020 election’s aftermath will not come close to fulfilling Democrats’ dreams of prohibiting the Republican front-runner from attaining high office again, a top law professor told Fox News.

George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley’s analysis was essentially seconded by another legal expert, former New York federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy, who noted he had himself successfully prosecuted a “seditious conspiracy” case and said the Trump investigation gets nowhere close to that threshold.

Fox News correspondent David Spunt reported on “The Five” that Trump had been indicted on four counts: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Turley told “The Five” that special counsel Jack Smith might be “yielding to his weakness” with the indictment.

“[Smith] may be stretching the law a bit, so that’s why we’re going to be looking at things like witness tampering to see how much new evidence he has,” Turley said. “You’ll notice that not being discussed in all of this is a conspiracy for incitement [or] seditious conspiracy.” (Read more from “Top Law Professor Throws Cold Water on Idea Trump’s Latest Indictment Will Stop Re-Election” HERE)

Hunter Biden Warned Devon Archer About Potential FARA Violations Right Before Taking Burisma Board Seat, Emails Show

Hunter Biden warned business associate Devon Archer about potential violations under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) right before Ukrainian energy firm Burisma put the two men on its board, according to emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop archive.

Hunter Biden emailed Archer in April 2014 about the value the two would provide Burisma and how they could protect themselves from FARA and other potential legal issues, the archive shows.

“To that end they need to know in no uncertain terms that we will not and cannot intervene directly with domestic policy makers, and that we need to abide by FARA and any other US laws in the strictest sense across the board,” Hunter warned Archer, according to the laptop archive.

“The contract should begin now- not after the upcoming visit of my guy,” he continued. “That should include a retainer in the range of 25k p/m w/ additional fees where appropriate for more in depth work to go to BSF for our protection. Complete separate from our respective deals re board participation.” (Read more from “Hunter Biden Warned Devon Archer About Potential FARA Violations Right Before Taking Burisma Board Seat, Emails Show” HERE)

Scientists Demand Full Retraction of COVID Natural Origins Paper Praised by Fauci

Prominent scientists are demanding a full retraction of an early, highly influential paper on the origins of COVID-19 that downplayed the lab leak theory and was praised by Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2,” published in March 2020 in the journal Nature Medicine, declared that COVID did not come from a lab despite private doubts from the authors that a lab leak was possible, and even “likely.”

“Our analyses clearly show that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus,” wrote the five prominent scientists who authored the paper. “We do not believe that any type of laboratory-based scenario is plausible.”

However, emails from early 2020 that came to light earlier this year show that Fauci and the paper’s authors suspected all along that the virus may have been the result of a lab leak.

A total of 47 scientists and other STEM professionals signed an open letter to Nature Medicine journal calling for the paper to be retracted. (Read more from “Scientists Demand Full Retraction of COVID Natural Origins Paper Praised by Fauci” HERE)

Florida State University Fires Professor Behind Retracted Racism Studies: Report

Florida State University has reportedly fired a professor who had five studies on racism retracted, bringing an end to a years-long, acrimonious conflict over allegations of academic fraud.

Dr. Eric Stewart, Ph.D., was fired on July 13, according to a termination letter obtained by Retraction Watch.

Stewart was terminated for his behavior and his “extreme negligence and incompetence” in “basic data management” that has resulted in an “unprecedented” number of retracted articles and others now in question, wrote James Clark, the school’s provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.

“Decades of research that were once thought to be at the forefront of the criminology discipline have been shown to contain numerous erroneous and false narratives,” Clark wrote, adding that the retractions have “negatively affected the discipline on a national level.” (Read more from “Florida State University Fires Professor Behind Retracted Racism Studies: Report” HERE)

Biden’s America: Poll Finds Confidence in Military Lowest in Two Decades

Citizens in President Joe Biden’s (D) America are losing confidence in the United States military, according to a Gallup poll.

Citizens are mostly declining to share a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence when it comes to the nation’s military, the Gallup poll, conducted June 1 through to June 22 and shared Monday found.

The news comes after the Air Force celebrated so-called “Pride Month” across its social media accounts with a graphic of an airman saluting what appears to be a rainbow flag, Breitbart News reported June 8.

According to Gallup, the decline in confidence has continued for the past five years. (Read more from “Biden’s America: Poll Finds Confidence in Military Lowest in Two Decades” HERE)

‘Total Clown Show’: CNN Buries Devon Archer, Hunter Biden Revelations

CNN buried the story Tuesday of Devon Archer’s explosive testimony at the House Oversight Committee the day before, which implicated President Joe Biden in his son Hunter’s influence-peddling schemes and suggested the president lied to the country.

Archer testified, among other things, that Hunter Biden had put his father on a speakerphone to talk to his business associates at least 20 times, contradicting repeated claims by the president that he had never spoken to his family about their business affairs.

He also confirmed that Hunter Biden made money from business deals in China, debunking another one of his father’s denials. And he said that Hunter Biden’s role on the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma had been to help pressure his father, who was then the vice president, to stop a Ukrainian prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, from investigating it, confirming an accusation by President Donald Trump in 2019 that Democrats vehemently denied as they tried to impeach Trump and remove him from office.

Archer’s explosive testimony, however, did not even make CNN’s top 5 stories on Tuesday morning, which led with poll numbers that have Democrats worried Trump could defeat Biden in 2024, but included a story about a recall of a popular pickup truck.

Irony: Jack Smith’s Team Admits Incorrectly Telling Court DOJ Turned Over All Materials

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team admitted in a federal court filing in Miami this week that the government had not, in fact, given all of its evidence to the court for President Donald Trump’s defense team to review — the same thing Trump is alleged to have done.

Smith has charged Trump with 40 counts in the so-called “documents” case. Among them is the accusation that Trump caused his lawyers to tell the government that they had handed over all of the documents the government wanted, when in fact they had not.

The indictment against Trump alleges that he conspired with his staff to move boxes of documents, and to attempt to delete some video footage, without telling his attorneys, so that the final delivery of documents and video to the government was incomplete.

But in an ironic twist, Smith’s team had to admit to the court in a July 31 filing that it had not, in fact, uploaded all of the video footage that it had taken from Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, to a platform established by the court for the defense to review it.

Kamala Harris Uses Biden’s Vacation Week to Audition for His Job

Vice President Kamala Harris is stepping into the spotlight while President Biden is on a summer beach vacation, embracing what critics say is her status as the de facto incumbent because of her boss’ advanced age.

Speaking to a supportive crowd in Orlando, Florida, she rejected Gov. Ron DeSantis‘ invite to discuss new school curricula that say some enslaved people used skills learned in captivity for their “personal benefit” later in life. Ms. Harris leaned directly into a debate over Black history that has dogged Mr. DeSantis‘ run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

“Right here in Florida, they plan to teach students that enslaved people benefited from slavery,” Ms. Harris said. “I’m here in Florida, and I will tell you there is no roundtable, no lecture, no invitation we will accept to debate an undeniable fact: There were no redeeming qualities of slavery.”

Ms. Harris will step into the head-of-state role while Mr. Biden enjoys bike rides and other beach activities in Delaware. She is sitting down Wednesday with Mongolia’s prime minister, who is looking abroad to jump-start his country’s economic fortunes.

Ms. Harris will pivot to domestic politics Thursday with a trip to champion advancement in broadband access in Wisconsin — a key prize in the Electoral College — and meet with political supporters in Milwaukee.
