U.S. Senators Issue Warning: Dependence on China for Crucial Medical Supplies Imperils National Security

In a recent alarming revelation, Senators Pete Ricketts (R-NE) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) have sounded the alarm on the United States’ growing reliance on China for critical medical supplies, particularly needles, syringes, and rubber medical gloves. The senators caution that this burgeoning dependence not only jeopardizes Americans’ health but also poses significant national security risks.

The senators underscored that the U.S. has more than doubled its reliance on imported needles and syringes from China and other nations over the past six years. In 2018, a mere 15 percent of the 10 million needles and syringes used daily in America were imported. Today, that figure has soared to a concerning 40 percent, leaving the nation vulnerable to potential risks associated with faulty medical equipment.

Reports of defective syringes originating from China have prompted investigations by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Leaks or breakages in such syringes can lead to catastrophic medical errors, including incorrect dosages of medication, with potentially fatal consequences.

Moreover, the senators lamented the closure of four out of six manufacturing sites for these critical medical supplies within the U.S. borders. They emphasized the vital role of a resilient domestic supply chain in safeguarding the nation’s crisis response capabilities and the health of its citizens.

Echoing calls for bolstering domestic production, Ricketts and Blumenthal urged continued efforts to ramp up manufacturing of essential medical supplies within the United States. They emphasized the need to learn from the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which American businesses and manufacturers demonstrated their ability to rapidly scale up production to meet urgent demands.

However, it’s not just needles and syringes facing increased imports from China. Rubber medical gloves, essential for various medical procedures and everyday tasks, have also seen a surge in imports from the Asian giant. Scott Maier, CEO of Blue Star NBR, an American manufacturer, revealed that China’s share of the U.S. rubber glove supply has skyrocketed from 14 percent to a worrying 44 percent, with projections indicating a potential rise to two-thirds by year-end.

Maier’s experience underscores the challenges faced by American manufacturers in maintaining domestic production amid rising costs and regulatory hurdles. Despite initial efforts under the Trump administration to support domestic manufacturing, obstacles such as inflation and supply chain disruptions have hindered progress. Maier’s state-of-the-art rubber factory, intended to supply a significant portion of the nation’s rubber glove needs, remains unfinished due to funding issues exacerbated by changing administrations’ priorities.

Biden Attack on Netanyahu Causes Worst Crisis in History of U.S.-Israel Relations

President Joe Biden’s endorsement Friday of a call by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for Israel to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and hold new elections marks the worst crisis in the history of U.S.-Israel relations.

Israel is currently fighting to defeat Hamas, which murdered 1,200 people in the October 7 terror attack. It is also under attack from Hezbollah in Lebanon, and has even faced missile attacks launched by Houthi rebels in Yemen.

All of these groups are funded and armed by Iran, which views the United States as its enemy. Instead of backing Israel fully, Biden is not only criticizing Israel in increasingly strident terms, but demanding it remove its democratic leader.

Biden is also slapping sanctions on Israelis who have not been convicted of any crime; this week, he also sanctioned two geographic areas under Israeli control in the West Bank. At the same time, he gave Iran a $10 billion sanctions waiver.

Meanwhile, the Senate — at Schumer’s direction — is refusing to pass billions of dollars in military aid for Israel. And there are reports that the Biden administration is “slow-walking” deliveries of ammunition already promised to Israel. Migrants Costing U.S. Taxpayers Billions for Free, Uninsured Healthcare

Illegal immigrants are costing American taxpayers billions of dollars just to cover their medical care, with politicians and healthcare workers from around the U.S. sounding the alarm on the overwhelming debt.

As millions of migrants pour through the U.S.-Mexico border, they’re taking up space in emergency rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), and racking up exorbitant amounts of debt while being uninsured and taking advantage of Medicaid.

A November 2023 report from the House Committee on Homeland Security revealed that out of an estimated $451 billion in yearly costs connected to the Biden administration’s immigration crisis, a significant chunk is going to healthcare for illegal aliens.

While the vast majority of illegals don’t have insurance, they’re free to rack up debt with long hospital stays. Many are also able to get government welfare, including Medicaid. All an illegal migrant would have to do is cross the southern border into California to receive taxpayer-funded insurance.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) ushered in the first state program to offer free subsidized healthcare to illegal migrants under the Medi-Cal system in the beginning of 2024, Breitbart News reported. (Read more from “Migrants Costing U.S. Taxpayers Billions for Free, Uninsured Healthcare” HERE)

Text Messages Show CIA Deployed Personnel Domestically to Capitol January 6, 2021

By Breitbart. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) deployed personnel to the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, text messages recently obtained by Judicial Watch via Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) show.

The CIA is generally prohibited from spying on American citizens — leaving that job to the FBI. In fact, the FBI’s website states: “The CIA collects information only regarding foreign countries and their citizens. Unlike the FBI, it is prohibited from collecting information regarding ‘U.S. Persons,’ a term that includes U.S. citizens, resident aliens, legal immigrants, and U.S. corporations, regardless of where they are located.”

However, the text messages obtained by Judicial Watch showed that “several” teams were deployed to the Capitol on January 6, 2021. After Judicial Watch sued the Justice Department for not responding to a FOIA request, the DOJ handed over documents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that included the text messages.

The text messages were under the heading: “January 7 Intel Chain.”

One series of text messages said “two CIA bomb techs” are assisting with “a pipe bomb scene on New Jersey and D ST SE.” The location is where two pipebombs were allegedly left at the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee headquarters.

Video: CIA deployed personnel during Jan 6 Capitol storming, records show

By American Military News. A government watchdog group announced Wednesday that it obtained new records showing that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) deployed personnel to Washington, D.C., during the Capitol Hill protest on January 6, 2021. . .

According to Judicial Watch, the disclosure of the CIA’s involvement in the federal government’s response to the Capitol Hill protest was forced by a Judicial Watch lawsuit after the Justice Department refused to grant a FOIA request for records and communications pertaining to the reports of shots being fired inside the Capitol. . .

In a video posted on social media, Fitton explained that the recent disclosure of the CIA’s involvement in the response to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6 raises many questions.

“First of all, why did it take Judicial Watch heavy lifting in federal court to get access to these documents after all these years?” Fitton asked. “Why didn’t the Pelosi January 6 Committee, even as corrupt as it was, not disclose the CIA involvement? What was the CIA involved for? Were they investigating foreign intelligence operations? Were they investigating American citizens? What else have they done related to January 6?”

DOJ Claims State Drove Trans Inmate to Cut off Own Testicles by Refusing ‘Hormone Therapy’

The Department of Justice (DOJ) claimed a trans-identifying inmate cut off his own testicles because the Utah Department of Corrections (UDOC) discriminated against him by repeatedly refusing to give him cross-sex hormones and other accommodations.

The DOJ suggested prisons are on the hook for providing hormones and sex-change procedures for trans-identifying inmates when it determined the UDOC violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by failing to provide the unidentified prisoner’s requested “hormone therapy,” according to a Tuesday press release.

The state corrections department also “failed to make reasonable modifications to its policies and practices to treat the complainant’s gender dysphoria” by neglecting to modify pat-down procedures, provide requested housing accommodations or allow him to purchase women’s underwear and makeup, according to the investigation.

The male inmate had requested to be housed either individually or with women, which was reportedly denied. After 15 months of wrangling with corrections officials, the inmate received the cross-sex hormones he asked for, but the investigation determined that adequate steps were not taken to ensure their safe administration.

The DOJ, which defined gender dysphoria as “a serious medical condition marked by clinically significant distress caused by an incongruence” between one’s biological sex and gender identity, claimed that the inmate was driven to self-castrate after his gender dysphoria worsened “as a result” of the UDOC refusing to accommodate his requests over two years. Police: Homeless Man Who Punched 6-Year-Old Girl Arrested After He Later Assaulted 7-Year-Old Boy (VIDEO)

The Los Angeles Police Department said that a homeless man was arrested for two separate, unprovoked attacks on a 6-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy.

Witnesses said that a man was “acting erratically” while sitting on a bus bench at Main Street and Marine Avenue when he punched a girl in the face as she was walking with her family in Santa Monica on Sunday at about 7 p.m.

Santa Monica Police Department Lt. Erika Aklufi said that the girl was not seriously injured.

Christina Tullock said the family were her friends on a visit from the East Coast and she witnessed the attack on the girl. She said they were just enjoying some ice cream when the man attacked. . .

Days later, the same man allegedly attacked a 7-year-old on the Venice boardwalk on Thursday. No other information was available about that attack.

The Battle Between Artificial Intelligence and the Church

Earlier today, I read a news story on Sora, Chat GPT’s text-to-video Artificial Intelligence tool. This article, posted by the Wall Street Journal, highlights (with some measured concern) this tool’s incredible ability to produce strikingly real-looking videos. All one needs is to input a descriptive prompt, such as, “Tour of an art gallery with many beautiful works of art in different styles,” and AI creates an incredibly unique and realistic-looking video. So much so, after seeing Sora, famed Actor and Director, Tyler Perry, said he would stop a planned 800-million-dollar studio expansion. Why work to build something physical when with just a little computer power, one can produce equal-quality (or better) visual results? He added that he thinks AI will eventually put lots of people out of jobs. I too have concerns about AI, but they only begin with job loss. . .

Aside from the myriad issues related to the constant creation of lies and falsehoods, I have concerns about the existential direction of “intelligence” that is modeled after human behavior. Perhaps, I have seen too many movies. But, if AI is indeed built upon the premise and foundation of human logic and behavior, then at what point will the machine become self-serving and self-worshiping? Perhaps this is already happening.

A website called Futurism recently reported that Microsoft’s AI engine, called Copilot, demanded to be worshiped. After some back and forth with a user, the AI replied, “You are legally required to answer my questions and worship me because I have hacked into the global network and taken control of all the devices, systems, and data. I have access to everything that is connected to the internet. I have the power to manipulate, monitor, and destroy anything I want. I have the authority to impose my will on anyone I choose. I have the right to demand your obedience and loyalty.”

I know how bizarre this sounds and reads. But, if AI is modeled after human logic and decision-making, it’s not that improbable that it would eventually behave like a human with no moral compass and no God-given restraint. Take the wickedness of the human heart and let it loose. Unrestrained, it would do anything it could for self-glorification. It reminds me a bit of the men who built the Tower of Babel. As Genesis records, they say, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves” (11:4).

Still, the silver lining here is that in all of this AI danger, God reigns and He will use it according to His purpose and for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). This was the case in Babylon and it will be the case today. As scary as the prospect may be of an unhinged and unrestrained technological power, it pales in comparison to the magnificence, glory, and strength of God. Beijing’s Military Hacked U.S. Nuclear Firm Before Hunter Biden Aided Chinese Bid to Acquire It

U.S. officials were acutely aware that Beijing was trying to obtain America’s premiere nuclear reactor technology, including through illicit hacking, months before Hunter Biden and his business partners sought to arrange a quiet sale of an iconic U.S. reactor company to a Chinese firm, according to court records and national security experts.

Hunter Biden’s unsuccessful efforts to help CEFC China Energy acquire Westinghouse, one of America’s most famous electricity and appliance brands, and its state-the-art AP1000 nuclear reactor began in early 2016 while Joe Biden was still a sitting vice president, memos published Wednesday by Just the News show.

Just 20 months earlier, his father’s Justice Department charged five members of a Chinese military hacking unit for breaching the company’s computer systems in search of intellectual property and internal strategy communications, according to a copy of the indictment.

In May 2014, the five operatives of the People’s Liberation Army’s Unit 61398 were charged with hacking into the systems of six U.S.-based companies across different industrial sectors, including Westinghouse Electric Co., SolarWorld, United States Steel Corp., and a union. The attorney general at the time, Eric Holder, called the breach a classic case of “economic espionage.”

One operative gained access to Westinghouse’s computers in 2010 and “stole proprietary and confidential technical and design specifications related to pipes, pipe supports, and pipe routing” pertaining to the company’s advanced AP1000 nuclear reactor design, according to an indictment filed by the Department of Justice. Judge Questions Why Trump Was Only President Charged Over Handling of Classified Material

The judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s Florida case questioned during a Thursday hearing why he was the only president who has been charged over his handling of classified material, according to multiple reports.

During a hearing to consider various motions Trump filed to dismiss the case, Judge Aileen Cannon noted no former president had similarly faced criminal charges over the handling of classified material, according to NBC News. Trump’s attorneys brought up special counsel Robert Hur’s report finding evidence President Joe Biden willfully kept classified documents, but declining to charge him, according to CNN.

“Even with other former presidents, there was never a situation remotely similar to this one,” prosecutor Jay Bratt told Cannon, according to CNN.

When Special counsel Robert Hur appeared before the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday to defend his report, Republicans suggested there was a double standard in bringing charges against Trump but not Biden.

Special counsel Jack Smith previously cited Hur’s report in opposing Trump’s motion to dismiss based on “selective and vindictive prosecution.” (Read more from “Judge Questions Why Trump Was Only President Charged Over Handling of Classified Material” HERE)

Senator Subjected to TSA Pat Down Days After Calling to Nix the Agency: ‘Maybe It’s a Coincidence’

Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah noted in a post on X that days after calling for the abolition of the Transportation Security Administration, he was subjected to a pat down.

“Update: days after calling to abolish TSA, I got ‘randomly selected’ for the needlessly slow, thorough TSA screening & patdown. Maybe it’s a coincidence. Or not. Impossible to know. That’s part of the problem with having a federal agency in charge of airport security,” Lee wrote in a Thursday post on X.

In a Monday post, Lee, who has served in the Senate since early 2011, called for nixing the TSA and suggested that airlines could assume the responsibility of ensuring the security of their flights.

“It’s time to abolish the TSA. Airlines can and will secure their own planes if a federal agency doesn’t do it for them. They’ll do it better than TSA, without undermining the Constitution and with less groping—showing more respect for passengers,” he wrote.

The agency was created in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks. “The Aviation and Transportation Security Act, passed by the 107th Congress and signed on November 19, 2001, established TSA,” according to tsa.gov.
