Telegram’s CEO Charged in France, Banned From Leaving Territory

Telegram’s founder Pavel Durov was charged by French prosecutors for the alleged illegal use of his platform on Wednesday.

He faces six charges and has been ordered to remain in French territory, Politico reported. He has been detained in the country since Saturday after being arrested in Paris at Le Bourget Airport.

Durov’s bail is set at 5 million euros — or $5.56 million, CNN reported. Additionally, Durov must report to the French police station two times each week, according to CNN. . .

France’s Tribunal Judiciare De Paris announced Durov’s 12 charges pertaining to Telegram’s moderation policies on Monday according to a press release. The document listed allegations that Telegram was complicit in illegal activities, among them the alleged distribution of child pornography and “organized fraud.”

He is also been charged for allegedly refusing to cooperate with authorities.

Brittany Mahomes Appears to Triple Down on Trump Support After Backlash

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, seems to have tripled down on her apparent Trump support in the face of haters. . .

After intense backlash, Mahomes appeared to remove the like on social media. Still, according to Fox News, the former soccer player “appeared to like several comments on her most recent Instagram post that indicated support for Trump.”

One of the comments she liked said “TRUMP-VANCE 2024.”

The other comment referenced her recent social media activity that has suggested support for Trump and drawn backlash from those who do not support the former president. That comment said, “Glad to see you aren’t backing down. We are all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn’t be bullied into submission.”

Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, appeared to like the second comment.

Poll Reveals Majority of Americans Doubt Kamala Harris’ Sincerity, Prefer Trump’s Authenticity

In a striking new poll conducted by The Economist/YouGov from August 25-27, a majority of Americans express doubts about Vice President Kamala Harris’ sincerity, suggesting she speaks to placate rather than genuinely believe in her messages. The poll, which surveyed 1,554 Americans, reveals that 53 percent of respondents believe Harris is merely telling the public what they want to hear, rather than conveying her true beliefs. Only 35 percent of those surveyed think Harris genuinely believes in what she says, with 12 percent remaining unsure.

The skepticism towards Harris’ sincerity extends to registered voters, with 54 percent of the 1,368 sampled expressing doubts about her authenticity. This contrasts sharply with the 39 percent who believe in her genuine conviction and the 7 percent who are unsure. The trend is particularly pronounced among independent voters, where only 21 percent view Harris as sincere, while 56 percent believe she is just saying what she thinks will please voters. Another 22 percent of independents are uncertain about her sincerity.

The poll results present a stark contrast to the public perception of former President Donald Trump. According to the same survey, 51 percent of Americans view Trump as speaking from his own beliefs, compared to 39 percent who think he is simply trying to appease voters. Among registered voters, 53 percent see Trump as sincere, while 41 percent believe he is more concerned with pleasing the public. Nearly half of independent voters, 48 percent, regard Trump as expressing his own views, compared to 36 percent who think he is placating voters. Only 16 percent of independents are unsure about Trump’s sincerity.

These findings underscore a significant divide in public perception between Harris and Trump. The poll also highlights a broader sentiment among voters, who perceive Trump as a stronger leader compared to Harris, who is viewed as weak in leadership qualities, as reported by Breitbart News.

With a margin of error of ± 3.2 percentage points, the poll reflects a clear preference among Americans for leaders they believe are authentic and genuine, pointing to a growing dissatisfaction with the perceived insincerity of current political figures.

In a 2019 interview during her initial run for the presidency, then-Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) argued for eliminating on-campus police presence to address racial inequities.

In a recently resurfaced clip of the event, Harris voices her concerns about the disproportionate rates of suspensions and expulsions among black and brown students, calling for a reevaluation of how discipline is enforced in schools.

“What we need to do about demilitarizing our schools and taking police officers out of schools. We need to deal with the reality and speak the truth about the inequities around school discipline,” she says. “Where in particular, black and brown boys are being expelled and or suspended as young as … in elementary school.”

An early publication study from July detailed the discovery of human-caused metal contamination, believed to be linked to the construction of the Giza necropolis.

Chemical analysis of sediment cores taken from the Nile floodplain at Giza reveal a significant amount of copper pollution (“contamination”) within the “regnal years of Kings Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, consistent with metalworking during the preparation and construction of the edifices,” an international team of researchers wrote in the study, published in the journal Geology.

The samples reportedly represent the first known major instance of human-induced metal contamination (ie: pollution), a researcher said. “The sediments are as important as the monuments,” study co-author Christophe Morhange told ZME Science. The metal work is dated to around 3265 B.C., according to the study. That was over 5,000 years ago, much earlier than Big Archaeology probably wants us to believe our ancestors were capable of creating traceable pollution.

D.C. Grand Jury Returns Superseding Indictment Against Trump

A Washington, D.C., grand jury returned a superseding indictment against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday on four charges regarding election interference in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump was charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights, according to the indictment.

The charges are the same charges that Special Counsel Jack Smith had previously brought against Trump. However, he reportedly removed “some elements to the case” in response to the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity in July, according to the Hill.

Esquire Suffers Meltdown Over Trump Paying His Respects to Troops Killed in Biden-Harris Afghan Withdrawal

President Donald Trump traveled Monday to Arlington National Cemetery to join several Gold Star families in paying respects to the fallen, specifically the 13 service members killed exactly three years ago in the Biden-Harris administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The once and possibly future commander in chief’s effort to keep alive the memories of American service members killed under his successor’s watch provoked a complete meltdown at Esquire magazine.

The Hearst publication’s lead political blogger, Charles P. Pierce, asked in a feverish piece Monday, “How the hell was this allowed to happen[?]”

The cemetery, where just last year the Biden-Harris administration trampled graves and toppled the Jewish American-designed Reconciliation Memorial, is open to members of the public, so it’s unclear who exactly Pierce figured would prevent Trump’s entry.

Nevertheless, Pierce took offense on behalf of the nation, Gold Star families, and those who alternatively watched without objection as Trump joined two service members wounded in the Abbey Gate bombing in laying wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, writing:

Arlington is profaned by his presence on just an average day. But to allow itself to be used for the purpose propping up one of the Republican Party’s most noxious half-truths — as promulgated by its most noxious elements personified by its most noxious candidate — is an insult to the over 400 Medal of Honor awardees buried there.

An Oregon high school principal sent a surprising message to parents about a teacher’s gender transition.

Scott Gragg, the principal of McNary High School in Keizer, recently shared a message from Diesel Technology teacher Tristan Thiel, who announced that she transitioned over the summer and asked the public to accept her new identity.

‘I’m confident that our McNary family will do an amazing job of supporting her in this journey,’ Gragg wrote in the notice to parents and students, obtained by the popular Libs of TikTok X account. . .

Gragg, a former NFL player, went on to share Thiel’s email [he] sent to [his] own students, in which [he] says [he] is ‘happy to announce that I have decided to transition my gender identity from male to female.’

‘This letter is meant to inform students, their parents and guardians that I have decided to return to school identifying as my authentic self, the woman (she, her, miss) I truly am,’ Thiel wrote in the letter shared on social media.
