Former Prominent BBC News Anchor Gets Suspended Sentenced for Indecent Images of Children on Phone

Former BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, once one of the most prominent media figures in Britain, was given a suspended prison sentence Monday for indecent images of children on his phone.

Edwards, 63, pleaded guilty in Westminster Magistrates’ Court in July to three counts of making indecent images of children, a charge related to photos sent to him on the WhatsApp messaging service by a convicted pedophile.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring sentenced Edwards to a six-month prison term suspended for two years.

“It is not an exaggeration to say your long-earned reputation is in tatters,” Goldspring said.

Edwards’ fall from grace over the past year has caused turmoil for the BBC after it was revealed the publicly funded broadcaster paid him about 200,000 pounds ($263,000) for five months of his salary after he had been arrested in November while on leave. The BBC has asked him to pay it back. (Read more from “Former Prominent BBC News Anchor Gets Suspended Sentenced for Indecent Images of Children on Phone” HERE)

Tim Walz’s Wife Sparks Groans With Anti-Trump Hand Gesture at Rally: ‘Worse Than Hillary’

A campaign speech by Minnesota first lady Gwen Walz, in which she used a sweeping hand gesture to say “bye bye” and “turn the page” on former President Trump energized a Wisconsin audience, but induced cringes elsewhere.

Gwen Walz was slammed as the “living embodiment of Trump Derangement Syndrome” for a stump speech for her husband, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Vice President Kamala Harris in Wisconsin on Saturday.

In the speech, Gwen Walz cited Harris’ debate performance last week and how she repeatedly said the election is the time to “turn the page” on the current political climate.

“Now you probably saw that debate the other night. Yeah, that was great. And what Kamala Harris told us we had to do, was we had to turn the page. Yeah, because we have something really exciting headed in our direction,” Gwen Walz said.

“But I kinda like when she did this,” Minnesota’s first lady continued, imitating someone turning the page of a book. “Turn the page.” (Read more from “Tim Walz’s Wife Sparks Groans With Anti-Trump Hand Gesture at Rally: ‘Worse Than Hillary’” HERE)

WATCH: Network Suggests Trump Is Inviting Assassination Attempts (VIDEO)

In yet another example of the mainstream media’s absurdity, MSNBC suggests that Trump was inviting assassination attempts and asks if he will “tone down the violent rhetoric” or if that would be atypical. The media continues to prove themselves as the enemy of the people.

Trump Breaks Silence Following 2nd Assassination Attempt, Just 64 Days After Being Shot

Former President Trump told his supporters on Sunday he was “safe and well” after a second attempted assassination on his life, this time in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump was on the fifth hole of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Sunday afternoon when the U.S. Secret Service opened fire on a man, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, who was allegedly armed with a rifle. . .

“There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL,” Trump wrote after the events. “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.”

The Secret Service is working closely with authorities and investigating the situation, and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has been briefed. (Read more from “Trump Breaks Silence Following 2nd Assassination Attempt, Just 64 Days After Being Shot” HERE)

ABC Moderator Admits: ‘Fact-Checking’ Was Only Planned for Trump

ABC News’ Linsey Davis, one of two moderators for last week’s presidential debate, admitted to the Los Angeles Times that the plan was only to fact-check former President Donald Trump, and not Vice President Kamala Harris.

As Breitbart News noted, Davis and co-moderator David Muir fact-checked Trump seven times — often incorrectly — while never fact-checking Harris once, even when she used hoaxes, such as the Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax.

Davis told the Times that ABC had deliberately targeted Trump — and only Trump — because of perceptions that he had been allowed to get away with false statements in the CNN debate against President Joe Biden in late June.

As the New York Post noted:

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Davis said she wanted to address concerns that Trump’s statements could be allowed to “hang” there unchallenged by his opponent or the moderators, as they were when Trump and Biden debate on CNN in June.

“Davis, wearing pink glasses while speaking to The Times over breakfast at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia, said the decision to attempt to correct the candidates was in response to the June 27 CNN debate between Trump and President Biden, whose poor performance led to his exit from the race,” the Times reported.

Would-Be Trump Assassin Had Biden-Harris Bumper Sticker on Pickup Truck at Hawaii Home

The alleged gunman who targeted former President Trump had a Biden-Harris bumper sticker on the back of a pickup truck at his home in Kaaawa, Hawaii.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, frequently posted about politics online and has exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes since 2019.

Routh advised Biden, 81, in an April 22 X post when he was still running for reelection, to run a campaign around keeping “America democratic and free.”

He also claimed Trump wants to “make Americans slaves against master.” (Read more from “Would-Be Trump Assassin Had Biden-Harris Bumper Sticker on Pickup Truck at Hawaii Home” HERE)

Key Swing State Supreme Court Rules Mail-in Ballots With Flawed Dates Can Be Tossed

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued a ruling Friday that will allow mail-in ballots without accurate dates on their return envelopes to be thrown out.

In late August, a Pennsylvania state court halted the enforcement of requiring voters to include accurate, handwritten dates on submitted mail-in ballots, according to CBS News. However, the state’s Supreme Court, in a 4-3 vote, has now reinstated the requirement as two Democrats on the high court joined both Republicans to vacate the Commonwealth Court decision, according to the court documents.

Within the court filing, Justices Kevin Dougherty, Sallie Updyke Mundy, Kevin Brobson and Daniel McCaffery stated the decision was made after the Commonwealth Court failed to “name the county boards of elections of all 67 counties,” calling out Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt for not meeting the requirements “to invoke the Commonwealth Court’s original jurisdiction.”

With the reversal of the decision, over 10,000 ballots could potentially be tossed within the key swing state due to expected discrepancies on the envelopes regarding the date, according to The Associated Press. Justice David Wecht, within his dissent, stated, “A prompt and definitive ruling on the constitutional question presented in this appeal is of paramount public importance inasmuch as it will affect the counting of ballots in the upcoming general election.”

In November 2022, the state’s Supreme Court unanimously ruled that mail-in or absentee ballots lacking a date on their return envelopes are invalid, prior to the midterm elections at the time. Harris Flatlines in Post-Debate Polls Despite Claims of Victory

A new poll released Sunday shows Vice President Kamala Harris did not significantly move the needle in her favor despite viewers saying she won the debate, according to ABC News/Ipsos.

Following Tuesday’s presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump, a handful of pundits predicted a polling boost for Harris. However, while 58% of Americans say Harris won the debate, she only gained one point compared to pre-debate polls, now holding 51% support to Trump’s 47% among registered voters, ABC News/Ipsos data shows.

The poll, which was produced by Langer Research Associated with fieldwork by Ipsos, surveyed 3,276 adults online between Sept. 11 – 13 and had a margin of sampling error of 2%. In addition to registered voter support, the poll shows among all adults Harris holds 51% with Trump at 46% and among likely voters Harris holds 52% with Trump at 46%.

Among the new post-debate data, 37% of voters viewed Harris more favorably after the debate compared to 23% who found her less favorable. However, the increase for Harris came mainly from her base, with 69% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents stating they found the vice president more favorable after the debate, as 34% of Republicans and GOP-leaning Independents found Trump more favorable, according to ABC News/Ipsos.

Immediately after the debate, singer Taylor Swift broke her silence on a much anticipated endorsement and revealed she would be supporting Harris come this November. While the move sparked online celebration from Democrats, it showed little impact in the polls, with just 6% of voters saying Swift’s endorsement made them more likely to vote for Harris. Vance Apparently Chastised for Out-of-Line Comments on Abortion

Sen. J.D. Vance says he won’t try to speak for Donald Trump in the future after the vice presidential nominee expressed a contradicting viewpoint on a federal abortion ban.

The admission came after a moment at Tuesday’s debate where the former president broke with his running mate and said they have not yet discussed a veto on banning abortion at a national level.

‘I think that I’ve learned my lesson on speaking for the president before he and I have actually talked about an issue,’ Vance said in an interview with Meet the Press host Kristen Welker on Sunday morning.

The Ohio Senator said his point last month was to reiterate that Trump has been clear he does not support the idea of a national ban – but that he also thinks the issue would never cross his desk because it wouldn’t get through Congress in the first place.

Asked at the debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday if he would veto a bill putting a federal ban on abortions, Trump was noncommittal. . .

But when the ABC debate moderator Linsey Davis pressed him on Vance’s remarks just weeks earlier, the ex-president broke with his running mate

‘I didn’t discuss it with J.D. in all fairness,’ Trump said on stage. ‘J.D. – and I don’t mind if he has a certain view – but I think he was speaking for me. But I really didn’t.’ (Read more from “Vance Apparently Chastised for Out-of-Line Comments on Abortion” HERE)

Franklin Graham After Second Trump Assassination Attempt: ‘We Need to Pray for This Man’

Reverend Franklin Graham on Sunday asked people to intercede through prayer for former President Donald Trump following an apparent second assassination attempt.

“It’s evening here in Rome where I am, but the news is reporting that shots were fired in President @realDonaldTrump’s vicinity in Florida. There aren’t many details available yet, but as they try to determine what exactly happened, this is a strong reminder that we need to pray for this man,” Graham wrote in a social media post:

Social media users reacted to his post with many telling Graham they were already on it. “Pray without ceasing…” one person wrote, while another individual said, “I pray Lord for Donald Trumps safety!!!! Amen.”

“In prayer for him daily,” someone else commented.

Trump is safe following what the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said was an apparent second assassination attempt against the former president this year, Breitbart News reported on Sunday. The first attempt was during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July when a bullet struck Trump’s ear and left his face bloodied as he was speaking to the crowd.
